Why the inconsistency in your monthly eatings? The inconsistenceies are because of the following In November I earned - salary + 13th month In December I will earn- salary + end year bonus In January I will earn - salary + year full housing allowance In February i will earn - salary + balance of December bonus In march I will earn - salary + performance appraisal add in In April I will earn - salary + leave allowance |

blza: I choose to reply to your comment directly rather than the comment that really raised my eyebrows.
Can I assure you, YOU DO NOT NEED “a landed property” in your country of legal residence to obtain a visa. It shocks me how people mis interpret “home ties”. Yes assets is classed as ties. But a genuine, verifiable, decent paying job is very much a tie!!!! Likewise being a student is a tie.
These guys processing these visa use ALOT of common sense and can see through cooked up stories and lies.. which lead to many refusals. It is not difficult to spot lies if your brain is switched on... usually very evident when you marry up various information the applicant has presented.
So poster the Key thing for a successful application in your case are: 1. Your work - is this job a genuine job, what evidence do you have to show you are and have been with that company- these can be ( contract of employment/offer letter, letter from you employer on company headed paper with contact details for any verification - [this letter should state your start date and staff type, it should clearly state your gross annual salary , your job title, and the period of approved leave if possible ]. payslips, salary account that shows the exact net salary figures on Your payslip, evidence of other benefits from this job and previous jobs - this can be pension contributions etc..).
2. Your savings - don’t be carrried away by the statement balance. Yes it’s important . But content of that statement is so crucial . You stated the money you have are all saving from your current work. That’s great as it sounds , but they will look at your stated monthly outgoings (which you should be carful with) and with that work out what’s left and how that adds up to the savings you have over time. The lines on your statement is important , any deposits that may raise eye brows should be addressed on a cover letter or in the additional information section. Bank statement is crucial cos it really summarises all the stories you are telling. and tells a lot about your quality of life and how you survive. unfortunately there is only much I can write down as my finger hurts. But this is all common sense.
3. Purpose of travel/itinerary- I must first say you have chosen a good time to travel. That’s the heart of summer which makes sense. So you need to state why are you going to uk, tourism? Cool... so you now need to justify to the ECO why you have chosen to travel to UK of all countries that attract tourists. This will be evident on the things you want to do in the UK, the exact places you want to visit, cost of visiting those places if any. You need a break down of ALL the things you intend doing during your visit considering you have no friends/relative ? Clearly stating the date you will be arriving and leaving back to your place of residence/work.
4. Place of stay - you have stated places you are visiting , where you stay is important. It needs to be an accommodation close to good transport links to the places you are visiting and should be with miles to area to some extent. again all common sense.
5. Total cost of the trip- it needs to all add up considering cost of flight, travel and subsistence whilst in UK, plus some few extras). This will be weighed up against your savings/income. But if you have been saving to give yourself a once in a lifetime treat , why not!.
6. it’s your first application, you know your true circumstances more that anyone here. Visa applications are all about you doing a self check and be honest to your self , then you can tell if you truly stand a chance. producing relevant documents to back up all information you supply in your application and docs to prove you a genuine visitor, love your Job and love Your living in Your country of residence.
They key is honesty, supplying required information and genuine docs to back it up. It brings everything to the table. You can not get a visa on lies unless you are a a prolific liar, even at that. On this forum alone you have stated 3 different salaries that you earn. Hmmm my dear if Your Story isn’t straight don’t waste your money. Make sure you include a cover letter and properly explain. Your circumstances ( what your work entails, your savings, this trip and plans. Make emphasis on returning and why)
as per previous refusals, it shouldn’t discourage you. I don’t know what information you have been presenting to them. And mix up of information is a refusal and you can hardly get another visa from the country or country union. All schengen states share information.
Sorry for the longggg post. All the best. Thank you for the breakdown. I will try my best to apply all what you said |

collinsfbi: To all moderators, users of travel section most especially to all lonely tourists and students, I find it necessary to open a thread for this purpose because I realized a lot of people are traveling to different destination without knowing anybody, even when you know somebody, they may not have your time but it's a different thing entirely if you find a travel partner who maybe heading towards your destination or who you can plan a trip together. This will help a lot lonely travelers in sharing information about your destination, hotel information, propose site attractions, itinerary and many more.
I will kick off this thread by asking if there is anyone traveling to UK for Easter Holiday, London to be specific. Let's hook up if you are interested, a friend we plan to travel together was denied and I don't feel like traveling alone because the trip was planned purposely because of him. Meanwhile this is not my first time going to the UK and i also have family there but I don't want to stay with anybody this time. If you are traveling to UK (London) in April, let hook up? Hello sir I will like to ask you a few questions . I intend to apply for a U.K. Visit visa. I work in a multinational company as a technician. LegitBachelor: I've gone for my visa interview. Went with the following documents: 1. My GTB Receipt 2. My Appointment Slip 3. My Confirmation Slip 4. My International Passport 5. My Passport Photo and 6. Documents showing ties to Nigeria
The documents I presumed will provide evidence of my ties include my bank statements, my appointment letter with my workplace and my appointment with an international organisation. Also I attached my hotel booking confirmation. All these I out in a separate file and tagged them evidence of ties to Nigeria
When I got to the venue I only went in with the documents I listed. To make things easy for me and the embassy security guys I left my belt and my money in the car. My appointment was for 6:45am.
All the VOs at the windows this morning were causcasians.......I think. There were lots of refusals. I also noticed the interviews lasted a bit longer than I expected. Its quite sad that one will be engaged on a lengthy interview and yet be denied
I can't remember my window but the lady in front of me was granted visa. Then I was called in:
VO: Good morning Me: Morning VO: Can I have your passport please Me: *Gives him* VO: So why do you want to go to the United States? Me: Intend going to Dallas, Texas on vacation (didn't give details). Might also check on Mr G. who's a family friend (he then started typing) VO: Oh ok, your family friend is based in the States? Me: Yes he is VO: Have you travelled outside Nigeria? Me: Yes. I've been to Denmark, Germany, Holland, China, and India VO: When did you travel to the Schengen States? Me: I travelled on dates A, for Denmark, dates B & C for Germany and D for Holland VO: All in 2017? Me: Yes VO: So you travelled twice to Germany this year? (Now facing me) Me: Yes, I travelled on dates B and C VO: So where did you travel to in Germany and what did you go to do in Germany? Me: *This was my strong point as it enabled me explain the work I do for the international organisation which was what took me to Germany. He delved into testing my knowedge on certain areas to know if I was really telling the truth but I was vibrating since its a field I'm good in and passionate about. He asked over 5 questions here . And he kept typing as I talked* VO: (He then switched from my inernational job to my government job) So what do you guys do at your primary place of work? Me: We regulate bla bla bla and my department where I work is particularly tasked with bla bla bla VO: Mention the names of your fellow colleagues at your workplace who go with you to Germany for the assignment with the IInternational organisation. Me: Mr U, J and I VO: Are you married? Me: No VO: How many times have you travelled. Me: *Haba I thought I had told you * 6 times to 5 countries VO: I will be approving you visa. (He then picked up the white form and pointed at the address there). You will be contacted to pick your passport at this address. (He then handed over the white form to me) Me: Thank you
I then made to go but I realise my passport wasn't with me. I wanted to go back and ask him for it cause it seemed strange to be going home without it ...the last time I went, I got my passport back immediately after the interview. But I then realised that the reason why I wasn't given back my passport is because my visa will be embossed on my passport so they took it to emboss the visa.
As I walked out of the building, I made sure I put a serious face so nobody will ask me how it went but surprisingly a female mopol called me out and asked me with some measure of certainty if I got the visa. I said yes but I had no money on me. Also as I was about leaving the final checkpoint another mopol asked me for money. Now my question is this: How did they know that I had gotten the visa? I'm guessing the guys inside the building gave the guys outside some form of signal .
No document was requested just my passport. Not even my statement of result or appointment letters. I'm so grateful to everyone here. I am so grateful to Kristinbaby who gave me confidence and provided very useful advice. Most of all I'm most grateful to God.
Please I have a question......when will my passport be most likely ready for pickup. I'm travelling next week week Saturday to a schengen state. Hope it will be ready by then o. Hello sir Please how did u get d SchengenVisa. Was it through the international organization. Please sir, I will like to join that international organization. Anticipating your reply sir. |

Divaville: Hello All, I stumbled upon this thread from a google search a night before my visa interview. I had been previously denied last year and was praying against a repeat. I'm still at the job that i was at last year but I've been promoted and my pay is much higher, still single too. I decided to say i was paying for my vacation this time rather than staying with my sister and her family. Here's the transcript of my interview earlier this week. VO: Good morning, may i have your passport. Why are you visiting the US? Me: For my annual vacation VO: Are you single or married? Me: Single VO: Any kids? Me: (Smiles) Nope VO: How long do you plan to stay? Me: 7 days, I am entitled to 20 business days each year for my vacation and I have used up 10days already but saved the rest for this holiday if granted a visa. VO: How long have you been at your first job? Me: Three years (Wondering how she knew it was my first job - must be from my initial application from last year) VO: What do you do at your job? Me: Lists responsibilities included my side hustle and volunteering job. VO:How much its your salary? Me: I tell her VO: How often do you get paid, weekly, monthly, quarterly? Me: Weekly, then i corrected myself and said Monthly but i get quarterly reimbursements for fuel/telephone costs etc VO: Let me see your bank statements Present them to her. She scans through quickly, i quip in...I was recently promoted and that accounts for the increase in pay you may notice. She nods and returns them to me. VO: Have you visited other countries? Me: I list all the countries, specifically informing her that i spent the first part of my annual vacation this year in the UK VO: Are you traveling for medical reasons? are you pregnant? Me: No I am not. VO: Your Visa has been approved etc etc Hands me a white document. I thanked her, packed all my supporting documents into my folder and left. It took less than 3 minutes.
Lessons: Always fill your form yourself. (Last year I used an agent from hell,) Be very honest about your job, income etc. For single people, travel history especially recent trips can help your case.
I just thought to share my experience here. Haven't posted on this forum in ages Hello ma Congratulation on your visa. Please could you state how much you told the vo was your monthly salary and which statein the us you stated you would spend your vacation. Thanks and God bless |

And in May 2017 I applied for another SchengenVisa they the French consulate going for a 6 days vacation and I was refused again cus they were not sure I would leave after visit. I applied again in august at the German embassy going for vacation in September and I was refused again this time around for two reasons the first and the second reason.
