This same reason you..some of you come online to create division between ijaws and other southern minorities..
Was one of you saying ijos are the trouble makers of south..cos we always protect the interest of the minorities..and will always do..they also have seen tru your wonderful friendship.
Or think Akpabio don't mean it when he said you guys specialise in exporting thugs to other states to cause wahala..
The south is coming together and the awareness is high.

They world is a global village now..every body don saabi..dem know dey tell person again..
Which history did I re write? Didn't the east form alliance with the North.. And didn't they massacre you guys.

And haven't you been voting for the north and did I lie when i said you will still vote for the same northerners you despise in 2019.

I know what i wrote really pained you but like I said igbos should worry for themselves because the way most of you jump on threads about yorubas is getting too much
Politics › Re: Yoruba’s Unacceptable Courting Of Northern Minorities. by omofunaab(m): 12:33am On Oct 11, 2016
Sometimes I laugh when people are talking about any alliance or whatsoever.

See, yorubas vote base on performance and not religious sentiments, ethnicity etc.
Many yorubas voted for Jonathan in 2011 not because of tinubu or anything but because we trusted Jonathan and he showed early signs that things will improve in Nigeria. But after winning the election, Jonathan went ahead to surround himself with corrupt elements that made his reign as President a complete disaster.

Don't forget that the same yorubas most igbos Now call cowards went to protest on behalf of Jonathan a fellow Southerner when the northern oligarchy wanted power to remain in the north at all cost. The likes of tinubu, Tunde bakare, wole Soyinka all protested the maltreatment of Jonathan while the so called igbos forming comrades to Jonathan today were no where to be found.

When we talk about alliances then we need to talk about igbo alliances with the North. .the first coalition government in Nigeria was formed by the igbos and Hausa Fulani. tafewa balewa was the Prime Minister while nnamdi azikwe was just a mere ceremonial president.

In 1979 and 1983 , despite the fact that igbos hated the northerners for what they did to their kinsmen in the north but that didn't stop them from voting a Hausa Fulani man shehu shagari.. In that same 1979 the UPN presented Awolowo and a candidate from anambra state. a southern alliance.

The so called alliance they said yorubas formed with the North in 2015 can't be said to be total. .because many people voted for Jonathan and the majority that voted for buhari did so because of Jonathan's failure.

The yorubas have always been an advocate of restructuring, despite being in opposition for some years I think we have achieved a lot than the "AGIP "region. Tinubu felt the south west could benefit more if we joined the government at the centre under a purposeful administration.

Now if we don't succeed in that, we simply re strategise and try other options.. That's what we call politics. That was what Awolowo tried to do also. When you lose you re-strategise.

It still doesn't stop the fact that south west is the most viable region in Nigeria in terms of social amenities and infrastructures.. .believe me I have been to other regions and i know why they all flock here in numbers.

Another thing is that south west holds the key to a lot of things, the northern oligarchy fears them most. We have always been opposing northern forces whereas our so called brothers from the east never had the guts to do so.. We have the highest number of activists and lawyers in Nigeria . We control the Nigerian press hereby influencing public opinion of everybody.

Believe me if yorubas want the igbos to have their biafra today they will get it because they can't do anything without us, even ojukwu needed our help.

And i can only guess the reason why many igbos hate yorubas today is because they have not been supporting their agitations. even though prof wole Soyinka recently supported them but this same people will abuse this man.. Especially when they start comparing a Nobel laureate to a chinua Achebe.

Am very sure the igbos calling yorubas Fulani slaves will vote the same Fulani come 2019 ,because your darling Party PDP have zoned the President slot to the north.

Now tell me who is the real slave here, is it the people that can't afford to stay in the opposition and build their own political force but instead will align with the same people they despise so much, same people they claim massacred them in 1967.

Please igbos stop worrying for yorubas coz the yorubas nation will always be fine.instead worry for yourselves.

The issue of corrupt judges is not a New thing.
Many have been deprived of justice by the actions of these well protected judges until now.

The thing is ,NJC as a body has failed to cleanse the judiciary of corruption. they are shielding their colleagues.

For how long should that continue because of due process.

We are being raped because of the so called due process.

The police arrested some suspected armed robbers that have been disturbing my area since last week while they were busy drinking at a local bar in the midnight .

Should the police have waited till morning before they were arrested.?

Some of the arguments i have seen on nairaland are not reasonable at all. Someone was saying why should they arrest judges in the midnight, that they should have waited till morning.

One even said why didn't the DSS arrest the judges when they were collecting the money.

I have noticed all these stupid arguments are coming from a particular section of the nation.

See don't let us pretend that our judges aren't corrupt in Nigeria.

I don't understand why people are saying judges can't be arrested for corruption because there are simply judges.

And people are saying DSS shouldn't arrest people in the midnight simply becos it's an ungodly hour.. My question to you is that if armed robbers are in your neighborhood in the midnight and you put a call to the police and their reply is that it's an ungodly Hour that they can't come.

I hate it when corrupt people hide under due process or rule of law.
The reason why the poor goes to prison is because the poor don't have money to buy these judges while the likes of wike can afford them.

Please don't let us pretend our judiciary are full of saints please. Every states has corrupt judges.. This will serve as a lesson to others that they can be touched regardless of their position as judges.

economic crime covers a wide range of offences, from financial crimes committed by banks, tax evasion, illicit capital heavens, money laundering, crimes committed by public officials (like bribery, embezzlement, traffic of influences, etc.) among many others.
So in that sense, DSS has the power to prosecute the judges suspected of taking bribes
Politics › Re: A Balanced View On The DSS Invasion Of The Judiciary by omofunaab(m): 10:54am On Oct 09, 2016
One thing most of us must agree on is that most of our judges are corrupt.

The NJC has only been recommending judges for retirement and not prosecution.

Bribe taking is a criminal offence

I believe the judiciary arm is well protected what some of you will call independence of the judiciary and that's why most of them have been abusing their powers. They think they are untouchable.

The internal cleansing mechanism in the judiciary is not even effective at all because it hasn't reduced the number of corrupt judges.

Going by the DSS statement they said they carried out investigations on these judges after months of surveillance. And they submitted their reports to the NJC, the NJC in return shielded their colleagues and only recommended two for retirement and prosecution.

The only thing bringing divergence of opinions is the way and manner these judges were arrested..

Some are saying they should invited first but they forgot the constitution has empowered the DSS to carry raids on houses with a valid search warrant.
If they don't carry out raids how will they recover evidence? Won't the suspects bury evidence if invited?

Another angle is that Dss can't prosecute corruption cases but they forgot that the DSS is empowered to prosecute economic crime cases

The real question bothering my mind is if bribe taking is an economic crime?

But my brothers this our judiciary needs thorough cleansing walahi.. There are way too much corrupt judges in the system

You are probably a kid and have far limited knowledge about the complexity of humanity. If you give anybody such a privilege to arrest, bungle or imprison without due process, it is just a matter of time you will make him a monster. Buhari is already known with bigotry, imagine if left unchecked what will become of his personal enemies. The due process you hear about is the only thing that can tame someone like Buhari.
I think you are the kid here because you don't understand the meaning of due process, you are just saying it. .

Firstly the DSS put on surveillance on some judges, investigated them, put together evidences against them and it was sent to the appropriate quarters I.e. NJC...... is that not due process?

Now the NJC instead of them to recommend some of the judges for prosecution, they shielded them and only asked them to be retired.

Now ask yourself this question why haven't the NJC being following due process by recommending judges that subvert justice by collecting bribes to be prosecuted instead of shielding their colleagues?

Or is bribe taking no more a criminal offence?

Please endeavor to use your brain next time when commenting on issues like this
Politics › Re: Chidi Odinkalu Mocks DSS Raid On Judges – In 5 Tweets by omofunaab(m):
I have been saying these things
The judiciary arm of government is very corrupt and they are the most protected arm of government.
The worst they get after collecting bribes is retirement and not prosecution.
That's why a corrupt politician will boldly tell you that we should meet in court because he knows how corrupt the judiciary is.
The stupid judge that discharged and acquitted James ibori is probably somewhere in Nigeria enjoying his bribe whereas ibori was sentenced in London.

Don't let us pretend that these judges aren't corrupt because i see most of us have turned to human rights activists now on nairaland.

The truth is the judiciary needs a thorough cleansing which can only be done in a draconian way.
Forget stupid rule of law or due process, yes the NJC is saddled with the responsibility of punishing corrupt judges but please tell me how many judges the NJC have recommended for prosecution despite the fact we know all these judges collect bribes.

Some people are hiding under rule of law and due process to rape us.

People are condemning DSS commando style.. It's like you are new in Nigeria, this is how Nigerian police and law enforcement agencies have been rolling since inception, it's nothing new, or do you think due process is when police collects your phone and starts checking your emails. Or when there is a fight on the streets and police goes to innocent people's house to arrest them.

Please don't let us pretend.. Even in America the FBI Wil carry surveillance on suspects before carrying raids on houses so that the suspect won't bury evidence .

The question most of you should be asking is that did the DSS present any search warrant? Which they did. They presented search warrants which is the normal procedure.

What's your business if they didn't invite them to their office in the first place.. It's not your duty to teach them how to do their jobs, most of us don't know that house raids is a constitutional thing .
If they don't raid how then will they get evidence?

Please they should raid any judge's house that surveillance has shown to be suspicious.

For once other judges Will think twice before collecting bribes.

Tinubu is definitely the strongest politician in south west.
Many see him as the present day Awolowo .
He symbolizes the unity of yoruba nation and any attempt to insult him definitely means you have insulted the yoruba nation as a whole.

Or why do you think fani kayode and Fayose spoke in his defence. They know tinubu is the number one leader in south west

You guys sound like kids at times if you're not one.

Listen, Tinubu enjoys support from the North but if you think you can blackmail anyone then you people are on the way to political irrelevance and you will only lead Tinubu to his destruction with unguarded utterances.

You seem to have forgotten the fact that not only does the North have the strongest electoral muscle in the land, but even if the South miraculously unite and back a southern candidate they still cannot win the election because of the 2/3 rule. You seem to have forgotten that the North can also realign and partner with others in the South who cannot wait to repay you for your perceived treachery against GEJ and will jump at the opportunity regardless of the rhetoric peddled by inconsequential online minions.

Tread softly and weigh your words.
You obviously don't get it, if APC succeed in frustrating tinubu, then he will definitely re-strategise,
The mistake most of you make is thinking that tinubu will want to hit back so quickly in 2019.
Tinubu will first want to heal the wounds in his region, especially where the daura mafia have infiltrated. Then he solidifies his grip on his region.

You guys think everything is about who gets the president's slot. Regional unity is the first step, when the north sees how the south west is united along with their brothers in kwara and part of kogi then the same northerners will come back to bourdilion in ikoyi to beg and seek alliance like they did in 2015.
And you saying the north will form an alliance with others in the south is a fallacy. You obviously think the SS and SE will vote buhari in 2019. I strongly doubt it.
The north just insulted the only region that allowed them to have the required 2/3 in 2015.
And you forget something, not everybody in the north will vote a Fulani with the activities of your herdsmen.
Benue, plateau and taraba.. And you forget the southern kaduna don't usually vote for buhari.
Kwara will definitely not vote for buhari despite the fact you guys call them northerners and also kogi state.

Buhari needs tinubu more than tinubu needs buhari.

So you better mind your utterances so that you won't annoy others here.
As you can see the yorubas defending buhari are now reluctant to do so now.
This shows you that their loyalty lies first to their region then the nation Nigeria.

Take care
