nefertitiram: Dairy and dairy products are known to cause colic in children. It is something to do with the proteins in dairy that are passed to the baby. I did the same thing, and I noticed my daughter's gas and crying reduced drastically. Not just dairy, things like nuts can also affect. |

dharmsexy: it does not happen everytime. My son does not have the mark, but my daughter does. And it DEFINITELY does not take 6 weeks/6 months...hian. Those that have the mark get it shortly after. My daughter's own started showing the a few days after it was given....if not the same day sef. i read somewhere it is because the injection is given to deep at times, that is why it does not show. Apparently,t he injection is supposed to be sub-cutaneous (under the skin). |

omron: I would take that kid to a doctor....and let the doctor know exactly what happened, so they wont think it is just a regular cold. Pele. |

eazee: I use olive oil on my daughter's hair. Goya is the common brand in Naija. It is safe and fine. Don;t let the fact that it is commonly used as annointing oil scare you lol....all na olive oil...some people use it to cook sef. Johnson has been known to have a 'not-so-good' effect on African skin and hair. |

And as for the cradle cap, many children often get it or it worsens, after they have had a round of antibiotics. It is actually a common thing, even in Adults. That's why some women get thrush, after they finish a round of antibiotics. Something about upsetting the balance of good:bad bacteria, which makes fungi thrive. |

bimsusy: When doctors give antibiotics, it's because they have weighed the risk-benefit ratio. 1 Like |

bimsusy: Please be careful the drugs you give your kid....yeap...antibiotic is a drug. No matter how it is applied, it is still a drug. Indiscriminate use of antibiotics can set your kids up for life....long-term health issues. The doctor that prescribed such for the other mum, might have his reasons. When it comes to drugs, it is not always one size fits all. I heard the hibiscus flower thing works....you can bathe him with that, as long as you dont give him to drink. But as for the drugs, no pls. 1 Like |

MGeey: Get olive oil/coconut oil. Rub it all over his head...generously. Wait for 20-30 mins, depending on the severity. Pick up a fine-toothed comb (picking comb), and gently ease the flakes off the scalp. Then wash with a good shampoo...preferably sebamed or aveeno products. Do that for a week and come back to testify. Depending on the severity, you can even start seeing changes in as short as 2/3 days. Just ensure you don't peel it or pick at it with your fingers. You can infect the scalp. Yes it is caused by a fungi, but I dont think it requires giving antifungal medication yet. Try the home remedy. It worked for both my kids. With my son, I didnt get the info on time, until I browsed baby centre, so it took about a week to clear off...but with my daughter, it went away within 3 days. 1 Like |

4tunebest: Even me, as old as I am, I can still get the Hep B vaccine. Whatever that nurse said is not true. Please ensure your kid gets the Hep B vaccine please....hepatitis B has no cure, it can only be reduced to a low level. 1 Like |

ayolight: Madam, don't worry (I know that is easier said than done). God will make a way. Go into fasting and prayers, and pray for God to make a way where all seems bleak. You will not bury your child...God will provide all the resources you will need. I will be posting a couple of websites that have to do with free surgery for kids...do endeavour to get in touch with them and see what they can offer you. Check these ones out. corrall: Go to The Palms Lekki. The Nett Pharmacy there will have it. A good and relatively cheap formular that has probiotics is Aptamil. If you want a formula with a higher fat content, buy Enfamil...although it is more expensive. |

Newmum15: Your baby needs to get BCG. That is given at birth also, I think. Please ensure he gets it, as it fights against Tuberculosis. |
