Congrats to all new permanent residents! Welcome. Just a piece of advice. Don't limit yourself to what people around you are saying. Apply for those jobs that seem hard to get or classified as 'not for black migrants'. You might never know. You can switch careers even. The Police constantly recruit. Policing here is safer than most countries, majorly because of the strict gunlaws. Victoria has a Police Custody Officer position, and are recruiting HEAVILY at the moment. Same with other jurisdictions. There is Firefighting and Correctional Services. These are areas where your diversity will be a plus for you and work in your favour. And you all know there is nothing like govt job lol. Congrats once again. 14 Likes 1 Share |

jukeblam: Don't mind Fatayi Williams...they just want money. I never even took any Polio or Yellow Fever vaccination from them. I uploaded our govt hospital card showing we got the booster dose for polio to the CO, and for the Yellow Fever, i took the same booklet to the ports health. to get the card, and didn't have to immunise again. This was for we adults. For the kids - All I did was upload my children's immunisation booklet to the CO...and it was accepted with no objection. Immi/Border Force has no issues with that. When it came to departure, I took their booklet to the ports health and they were issued a yellow fever card without having to immunise again. One was 18mths old, and the other was 3/4weeks old when I did all these. I don't know why Fatayi Williams gave another polio dose after 9mths. It is not only unethical, it is not WHO recommended. OPV/IPV ends at 10 weeks I think. Upload her immunisation booklet (Front n Back) on your immi account, I can assure you it will be accepted. 1 Like |

ausi4me: Just follow the guidelines on the website. Applicants with degrees from Nigerian unis are unable to upload their transcript. The uni has to forward it. Originals are fine. Bank statements is not a must. They may or may not ask. Payslips alone are just fine, but you can add bank statements if you want. It is better if your evidence of pay shows your first ever pay, a couple in the middle, and your most recent pay. 1 Like 2 Shares |

akinnawou: Usually, you apply for state nomination seperately. But once you apply and are granted, yet choose not to go ahead to lodge the visa app,, your profile will be locked for a while...usually 60 days. |

akinnawou: States can sponsor you at any time, as long as their quota hasn't been exhausted. 190 visas are not subject to occupation ceilings. 189 is better, as it allows you live anywhere from the get go. 190 requires a 2yr committment. No implications from choosing both. Just that if 190 invites you first, your skill select will be locked and unavailable for 189. |

Nisi: NT is only able to sponsor 190 and 489...not 189. If you qualify for 189, go for it. If you don't, go for 190. 489 should be a last option. Also, NT is notorious for rejecting 190 applications, and offering 489 instead. This happens when they are not so sure you will stay the 2yrs. 2 Likes |

Different states have different POF requirements. Some require just a declaration, no evidence. Some require only evidence of a cash portion, and just a declaration of assets. Some require evidence of the entire amount in cash. From what I can see on the NT website, the POF is a total of your net assets. This can be cash, shares, property valuations etc. |

unibadan: Showing POF is not set in stone. It depends on the kind of visa and/or state that is sponsoring you. Bellong POF is Proof of Funds. |

chuckdee13: Yeap. Technically, you are not paying for the exam at first. It is more of a pre-qualifying stage. If they feel you need to do some extra courses or a bridging course before the exam, they will let you know. But the fees won't be refunded after assessment. Don't worry, I doubt you will be found unworthy. |

yemzy26: 1. Yes you can enter before the primary applicant. The privileges are the same...no difference at all. The visas are independent of each other, once approved. 2. I know the visa fees have been increased. But for 2 adults and 2 kids in 2014, the total was about A$6,300. Exchange rate fluctuates between 130-140 naira to 1 AU$. 3. The permanent residency visa is a bit tricky. I will just list out the points. a. The visa itself is valid for 5yrs, if you intend travelling in and out. But at the same time, you can live in Aus indefinitely on the same visa, if you don't intend travelling out of the country. b. If you intend travelling out and returning to the country after the 5yrs is up, and you don't have citizenship, you will need a RRV (Resident Return Visa). It is advisable to get it onshore before leaving. It takes just 1-2days if onshore, but up to a week if offshore. c. But, to qualify for a RRV, you must have stayed a total of 2 years (it can be a combination of different short stays) during the 5yr period. d. There are some exceptional circumstances where a stay of less than 2yrs can be accepted. e. You have to validate your visa within 1yr of medicals and/or pcc. 2 Likes 1 Share |

chuckdee13: No. It means graduates of those schools do not need to write an examination. Graduates of Vet from schools not listed there, have to put in a request for the exam by submitting a couple of documents and paying the fee. Once they are assessed as qualified to write the exam, they will be given the go ahead. The exam is in 2 phases....basically theory and practical....but at different times. Once you pass both components, you are then eligible to register, which in turn makes you eligible for a skill assessment. Skill assessment is what is required at the visa application stage. |

mamajaz: As a nurse with a degree from a Nigerian university, you will need to do a transition course of at least 3mths. This transition course will be done at a University in Australia. It might be more than 3mths though. When you submit your documents to ANMAC, they will advise you of which stream you qualify for...3mths, 6mths or 1yr. 1 Like |

Your assessing body may or may not require certification of copies. As for the visa proper, original docs are fine. |

ada4all: You will have to. Your uni will stamp and certify a copy of your certificate. You can send the certificate yourself, but your transcript has to be sent by the school. If you are lucky, you can plead with the person in charge of sending transcripts to include the certified copy of the certificate in the envelope, so you don't pay for courier twice. |

Nita2013: I think what she meant is the baby is not emptying one b reast before proceeding to the next...which in turn makes him get more foremilk than the fat-rich hind milk. My baby had it too, and it stopped when I adjusted So her saying 'not eating well' might be not properly sucking right 2 Likes |

biggal: It is not an infection. Seems like your baby is not taking enough hind milk. Ensure your baby empties one br east, before moving to the other one, at each feeding. My first cild had the same issue, but when i started emptying one b reast , before switching, it stopped. 1 Like |
