Technology Market / Re: Is NIPOST Deliberately Withholding Phones Ordered From Aliexpress? by omokudu(m): 6:48am On Sep 21, 2020
Valentinooo:
On the 7th of March, I ordered a phone which was shipped on the 18th of March. Ever since then, nothing has been heard of it.
The memory card I intended to use with the phone was ordered two days later, and that one has since arrived.

From the lamentations on the aliexpress thread, I noticed a lot of people are also in my situation.
They bought phones which refused to deliver whereas the accessories they ordered days after ordering the phone got delivered.

This lead to the assumption that nipost staffs are deliberately holding on to these phones for reasons best known to them.

I don't want to believe these phones are being stolen by those that are meant to deliver them to us.

Why will I buy a phone with my hard earned money only for it to be stolen by people who are meant to deliver the phone?

This is corporate robbery and should be condemned.

How will a phone come all the way from China without missing only for it to get to Nigeria and get missing?

I have to create this new thread to make our plight known to the whole world.

I have also tagged those who are having this same issue.

Romance / What If You Could Change Something That Happened During Your High/secondary Scho by omokudu(m): 6:34am On Aug 28, 2020
Good day ladies and gentlemen, our topic of discussion as shown above is:

What if you could change something that happened during your high/secondary school days?? What would that be??

I will change the fact that I was a bookworm person that wasn't really social. I never participated in sporting, cultural or any event that does not require one reading, cramming or solving.

I lived this kind of life throughout my high school and early University days too. I could remember an event that happened in my SS2 where a girl openly professed her love for me in the class because she felt I was not giving her attention (poor me didn't even see the green light o). I was very hot back then because of my 'always-ironed' clothes (courtesy of my elder sis), my height, natural pink lips, and small beard, but I was so focused on my books and my male friends. There was also an incident that got two junior girls fighting, one accusing the other of trying to snatch her school-father (school daughters wey I no know say I get), I only noticed that they were so fond of me and they usually buy gifts for me.

Several years after, during one of our old school time, we held an old boys/girls get-together and people were given the opportunity to talk about "event they wished happened, but never did", 'come hear as make-sense babes (juniors, classmates, seniors) dey say "I was so into Omo, but he never noticed me"'.

Hmm!!! If I was to go back to secondary school days, I would rather be the brilliant-play-boy they wanted me to be. Although I covered up this lapse in my 300L-500L sha.

It's good to take some time to reflect on the past years you have spent in places like your high school. Today, we shall be reminding ourselves "what we wished to do, but never did", what u learned and ur experiences
Nairaland / General / Arotile, Nigeria’s First Female Combat Helicopter Pilot, Dies At 23 by omokudu(m): 5:59am On Jul 15, 2020
Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile, the first-ever female combat helicopter pilot in Nigeria, is dead. She was barely 23 years of age.

Arotile died as a result of head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base Kaduna.

Her death came barely a year after she was winged as a combat helicopter pilot in the Air Force following the completion of her course in South Africa.

Confirming the accident, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said until her death, ‪Flying Officer Arotile, who was commissioned into the NAF in September 2017 as a member of Nigerian Defence Academy Regular Course 64, was the first ever female combat helicopter pilot in the service.‬

He said: “During her short but impactful stay in the service, late Arotile, who hails from Iffe in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, contributed significantly to the efforts to rid the North Central States of armed bandits and other criminal elements by flying several combat missions under Operation GAMA AIKI in Minna, Niger State.

“The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on behalf officers, airmen, airwomen and civilian staff of the NAF, commiserates with the family of late ‪Flying Officer Arotile‬ over this irreparable loss. We pray that the Almighty God grant her soul eternal rest.”
