Nairaland GeneralImportance Of Being Virgin Till Marriage by omona10(op): 7:56am On Sep 11, 2014
We may be familiar with the
teachings of Christ about divorce,
and that a person may not divorce
his wife for as long as he lives
otherwise it is adultery if he or she
marries another. But Christ's
teachings also apply to fornication.
In our society it is considered
acceptable to have had a number
of sexual partners before
marriage. This way of thinking is
also prevalent within the church,
in which case they are called
"mistakes", forgiven as easily as
telling a white lie. But in the bible
losing your virginity is far more
serious than a simple mistake like
telling a lie. How do we think
Adam and Eve were married?
There was no priest to do a
ceremony and say "I now
pronounce you man and wife" and
sign a piece of paper. They
became married by the first act of
intercourse!
Here is the point: a person is
married in God's eyes to the
person they first have sex with.
The bible teaches that the two
become one flesh. Blood seals
covenants, and the flow of blood
seals the marriage covenant with
that person for life. As Jesus
taught, God joins two people
together through the act of
intercourse (Not when a priest says
" I now pronounce you husband
and wife" in a marriage ceremony!)
:
Mar 10:8 And the two of them shall
be one flesh. So then they are no
longer two, but one flesh.
Mar 10:9 Therefore what God has
joined together, let not man put
apart.
Why is this an issue? Because any
subsequent sexual partners
(whether you legally marry them
or not) are in reality committing
adultery as you are already
married to your first sexual
partner in God's eyes. The bible
teaches that if a man has sex with
a virgin he is obligated to marry
her and not divorce her for the
rest of his life, whether he or she
likes it or not (see scriptures below)
.
Exo 22:16 "If a man seduces a
virgin who is not engaged, he must
pay the bride price for her and
marry her.
Deu 22:28 If a man finds a girl, a
virgin not engaged, and lays hold
on her, and lies with her, and they
are found,
Deu 22:29 then the man who lay
with her shall give to the girl's
father fifty shekels of silver, and
she shall be his wife. Because he
has humbled her, he may not put
her away all his days.
Paul also stressed the importance
of marrying a virgin:
1Co 7:36 But if anyone thinks it
behaving himself indecently
toward his virgin (if she is past her
prime, and so it ought to be) let
him do what he will; he does not
sin; let them marry.
and also taught that you become
one flesh with the person you
sleep with, even if it is a prostitute:
1Co 6:16 Or do you not know that
he being joined to a harlot is one
body? For He says, The two shall
be one flesh.
Be warned - in the bible there is
no difference whether the first
time 'meant anything ' or not,
whether it was a moment of
weakness or planned intent, and
there is no difference between
whether it's done with a prostitute
or a stranger or someone you are
deeply in love with - the person
you first have sex with, you are
married to! But I'll get back to this
later...
Now why is it important for a
Christian man or woman to seek a
virgin husband or wife? :
The bible says that temple priests
were not allowed to marry non-
virgins:
Lev 21:7 They shall not take a wife
who is a LovePeddler, or defiled. Neither
shall they take a woman put away
from her husband. For he is holy
to his God.
Eze 44:22 Nor shall they take for
their wives a widow nor her who is
put away. But they shall take
virgins of the seed of the house of
Israel, or a widow who had a priest
before.
And because Christians are priests
in the service of God the same
applies to christians:
Rev 1:6 and made us kings and
priests to God and His Father, to
Him be glory and dominion
forever and ever. Amen.
But how to escape this life-long
marriage to your first sexual
partner?
Simply, you must die, because the
only way in which the marriage
covenant is broken is through
death:
Rom 7:2 For the married woman
was bound by law to the living
husband. But if the husband is
dead, she is set free from the law
of her husband.
To die, you must come to Christ
and be cleansed and reborn as a
new creature through baptism and
you re-gain your virginity, in Christ
(see Romans 6),
Col 3:3 For you died, and your life
has been hidden with Christ in
God.
You die, you are re-born, you are
made alive again, you are given
new life, and so you are
unmarried from your first sexual
partner through death, and a
chaste virgin to be married to
Christ! :
Rom 7:4 So, my brothers, you also
have become dead to the law by
the body of Christ so that you
should be married to Another,
even to Him raised from the dead,
that we should bring forth fruit to
God.
And because you will be married
to Christ, you are a virgin again
and a completely new unmarried
person:
2Co 11:2 For I am jealous over you
with godly jealousy: for I have
espoused you to one husband,
that I may present youas a chaste
virgin to Christ.
2Co 5:17 So that if any one is in
Christ, that one is a new creature;
old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become
new.

Nairaland GeneralOAU Student Quarantined, Confesses Contact With Enemuo by omona10(op): 10:04pm On Sep 10, 2014
Fear gripped students, parents and staff
of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife
on
Tuesday over a report that a patient on
admission at the OAU Health Centre was
a suspected Ebola Virus Disease victim.
Though the management of the school
initially denied the development but the
Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Dr.
Temitope Ilori, said the sick student had
confessed having contact with the late
Port Harcourt doctor, Iyke Enemuo, who
died of the EVD after he secretly treated
an infected ECOWAS diplomat, Olu-
Ibukun Koye, in a hotel in the Rivers
State capital.
The commissioner said the female
student had been put in the isolation
ward.
Ilori said, "I was told that a student of
the
OAU who had contact with the doctor
who died of the Ebola virus in Port
Harcourt walked into the health centre
when she was sick.
"She was said to have told doctors at the
health centre that she had contact with
the Port Harcourt doctor and was put
under surveillance but she said she
tested negative that time.
"Now she returned to the OAU to
continue with her studies and was sick.
She was said to have walked to the
health centre and told them everything
about her contact with the doctor.
"Her blood sample has been taken for
another test in Lagos and we are
awaiting the result. We pray she is not
positive but she has been isolated at the
health centre."
When one of our correspondents visited
the hospital on Tuesday, it was observed
that health officials were disinfecting the
surroundings of the medical centre and
more attention was paid to places where
patients sit before being attended to.
It was also learnt that top officials of the
hospital held an emergency meeting
after testing the suspected patient, who
was said to have been on admission in
the hospital since Monday.
Before the confirmation by the
commissioner, the Public Relations
Officer of the Obafemi Awolowo
University Teaching Hospital Complex,
Ile
Ife, Mr. Olu Bello, had denied the report
that a suspected Ebola virus patient had
been admitted to the hospital.
Bello said he also heard that a student of
the OAU, who returned from Port
Harcourt, was down with the virus but he
said the hospital did not have any case
of Ebola.
"There is no case of Ebola at the
OAUTHC. Nothing like that; I also heard
something like that but such rumour has
been causing unnecessary tension
among the people but it is not true."
When contacted, the Public Relations
Officer of the university, Mr. Abiodun
Olanrewaju, said the university would
make its findings known to the public
later Tuesday night.
"It is a suspicion; we don't know yet. We
will make our position on it known
tonight. We are still working; we are in
the office now," he told one of our
correspondents on the phone.
Olanrewaju later told The Punch that the
ailing student had been moved to Lagos.
Though, medical officials in the hospital
had denied that the said student tested
positive to the Ebola virus, they
confirmed that the Federal Government
Emergency Ebola Team had been
contacted.
One of the officials, who preferred not to
be identified because he was not
authorised to speak, said the suspected
patient would be made to go through an
intensive examination on Wednesday
(today) by the EVD team from Lagos.
Another official claimed that the
symptoms showed by the student "are
not too different from fever".
The official said, "A patient was brought
to the health centre and due to the fact
that she hails from Port Harcourt there
were fears that it might be Ebola. We
have carried out tests on the victim and
found that she is suffering from a likely
fever. Not satisfied, we pressed further
by holding an emergency meeting which
finished five minutes ago."
When asked why the hospital was
disinfecting its surroundings, another
staff said, "We are only taking preventive
measures. To be 100 per cent satisfied,
we have sent a letter to the Ebola
Emergency Team in Lagos and the team
should arrive by tomorrow (today)."
To ensure calmness in the institution,
the
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bamitale Omole,
urged students to desist from spreading
rumours about EVD.
He spoke during the 52nd matriculation
ceremony for 5,608 newly-admitted
students of OAU on Tuesday.
He said, "A current issue of concern to us
as an institution, which is also related to
the judicious use of the facilities in the
halls of residence, is maintaining a high
standard of personal hygiene to halt the
spread of EVD. The virus, which is not
airborne, spreads through bodily fluids
such as blood, sweat, urine, saliva and
vomit. We should all co-operate to halt
the spread of this disease by arming
ourselves with adequate information
about the disease and avoid spreading
false rumours that certainly can cause
fear and panic.
"A committee of experts had been set up
in the university and it will step up its
sensitisation and enlightenment
campaign about the symptoms, modes of
transmission and preventive measures
of
the disease. Credit to: www.locogist..com

Nairaland GeneralEbola: Doctors Reject September 22 Schools Resumption Date by omona10(op): 1:02pm On Sep 09, 2014
The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA,
has rejected the Monday September
22nd resumption directive given by FG to
all Primary and Secondary schools due to
the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.
The NMA speaking through its National
Publicity Secretary, Dr Olawunmi Layaki,
said they expect all schools to remain
closed until December or early next year
when all Ebola suspects under
surveillance have been cleared and
certified free of the virus.
"We are not happy with this decision on
the resumption of schools. Schools
should be shut till the last suspected
case or patient is certified free of the
virus. We can shift the resumption date
till next year or in the next three months
if that is the time it will take.
Government should have enough time to
follow the standard procedure for
containing the virus. Parents have no
reason to be in a hurry because if Ebola
should enter any school, it will assume
another dimension. Children cannot
survive isolation like adults. Nigeria is
peculiar because of her large population
and we should be pragmatic and
proactive. It will not augur well for the
country if we have another outbreak due
to carelessness." it said
In the same vein, the chairman of the
Lagos state chapter of the association, Dr
Tope Ojo said most public schools lack
basic hygienic facilities and this would
expose the students to easy spread of
the virus.
"It would not have cost the Federal
Government anything to have waited till
those under surveillance have
completed
the 21 days in all the states where they
are being monitored. The government
knows that it takes a longer time for
children to get used to the idea of
hygiene and sanitation. They are even
more vulnerable because they would
play with each other whether they are
sick or not. How many children know that
they should use hand sanitizers or avoid
contact with anybody that has fever?
Waiting till October when at least the
situations in Rivers and Lagos states
would have been conclusively managed
is another safety measure the
government should have taken. These
kids are not studying to get a degree, so
we are sure it would not have affected
schools' curricula." he said. Source: www.locogist..nl/2014/09/ebola-doctors-reject-september-22.html?m=1

EducationTop Reasons Why You Must Attend Private Uni. And Why Yo Musn't Attend Public by omona10(op):
• Like privatized junior high and high
schools, private universities generally
have smaller class sizes, and more
prestige than does a public university.
• Students generally build stronger,
more
personal relationships with their
professors and instructors, as there are
special programs designed to increase
communication and dialogue between
the two. It is not uncommon for a
university to arrange for professors to
dine, correspond, and interact with
students on a personal, friendly level.
• Private universities also have a
significantly higher amount of extra-
curricular activities and programs for
students to participate in, which can
develop a stronger sense of
community. • In Private university
student graduates at the right time
because their is no Strike, why in public
University the reverse is the case. ¤.. Why
you musn't attend public university... • A
student that is meant to graduate at 22
yrs might end up finishing at 25 yrs and
with this age getting Job wont be easy
because job requirement is getting
tougher and tougher by the day. • Public
universities are not as
prestigious as private universities, and
some careers might be more difficult to
enter after graduation. • The larger size
of public universities
may distance the student from the
educational atmosphere, making them
feel more anonymous among the
student population.

Baking powder. Take 2 tablespoon of
baking powder, 1 tablespoon of lemon
juice and apply this mixture on the body
parts, like neck, underarms. It is very
helpful especially in summers to control
your body odor.
Another useful remedy for body odor is
wheatgrass. Take wheat grass every
morning on empty stomach; this will
control body odor and sweating.
A balanced diet includes ideally 20% of
protein (fish, poultry or vegetarian
combinations of pulses and grains), 20%
of oils and fats (avoiding animal fats as
much as possible) with the balance from
vegetables, fruit, pulses and grains. This
should be supported by a daily high
potency multivitamin /multimineral
supplement. www.women-info.com/en/natural-remedies-body-odor
Nairaland GeneralNatural Remedies For Body Odor by omona10(op): 11:05am On Aug 05, 2014
Body odor can be a big problem for your
professional and personal life. Body odor
is not caused by sweat itself but in most
cases it is developed by the bacteria that
thrive in warm moist areas of the body.
At the same time the excessive
perspiration (so called hyperhidrosis) does
tend to create odor. Body odor can also
be caused by consuming certain foods
and spices, such as garlic or curry, whose
scent may be spread by the pores of the
skin.
Anxiety and nervousness can also cause
excessive sweat and body odor. Some
theorize that odor comes from toxins in
the body and that regular detoxification is
needed. How to use natural remedies for nice
body odor
Some herbs and natural remedies can be
very effective for body odor. Use it and
enjoy pleasant body smell!
Sage. Sage is a natural antiperspirant.
Drink one or two cups of sage tea daily to
reduce the sweat produce by your glands
to reduce body odor. Sage tea, taken
once a day can eliminate the bacteria that
are responsible for body odor.
Tea tree oil has anti-bacterial properties.
It is used as a remedy to treat body odor
by application of the essential oil, mixed
with a small amount of water. Mix
rosemary oil or tea tree oil in a small
quantity of water and use this mixture on
underarms, neck, chest, back, and thighs.
This is very useful to get rid of body odor
and perspiration.
Herbal Baths and/or Herbal Powders.
Herbals baths are widely used as a
treatment for body odor. One such bath
uses coriander, licorice, fennel, nutmeg,
oregano, cinnamon, cumin and ginger.
These herbs can also be powdered and
used in lieu of deodorant.
Prepare a mixture of few drops of
glycerin and radish juice. It acts as a
good home remedy for controlling body
odor. Apply this mixture on feet,
underarms, neck etc.
Prepare a mixture of white vinegar and
alcohol. It is a natural and safe remedy
for controlling body odor and perspiration.
Apply apple cider vinegar on neck,
under arms and other body parts to
control sweat.
You can directly apply turnip juice on
sweat prone area. It is very effective in
controlling body odor and perspiration.
Tomato. Tomato is used in getting rid of
bad odor. When you bathe – add a few
cups of tomato juice (minimum 2 cups) in
your bath tub and enjoy a refreshing bath
– soak yourself for about 15 minutes.
Raw Potatoes. In order to prevent excess
sweating you can rub slices of potatoes
under your arms. Rub potatoes slices on
your underarms and then rub your
underarm until it is completely dry. This
will keep you cool and control body odor
and perspiration.
Then apply your regular deodorant. It is
said that this reduces body odor.
You can also apply some antifungal soap
available in the market, like neem soap
that control body odor.
