@avalon316

Defnintely not just Nigerians do it. But u and I agree if there was going to be a statistics of the country with more defaulters Nigeria wouldn't be on the favourable side.

The better immigrants are even the ones that defer to a later date to eventually go to school. Some don't even go to school atall after getting into the country on a study visa.

Canada needs people YES! But they frown at insincerity and criminality.
If you want to go and study! Fine, apply for a study permit and make sure u go to school.
If you want to immigrate get into EE and immigrate.

Don't try to by pass the system by faking study intentions just to get into the country.

If the work permit is removed while you study, that way you have filtered anyone who fakes study intentions and intends to get into the country to make a living
Seconded...

I tried Canada with no positive outcome on visa. I was suppose to pay 14 dollars school fees in Canada. When somebody told me I can even study in Germany with English and is 100% free of charge plus free public transport and train, I rush apply for German student visa and admission and today I have no regret. I work and send money home rather than using the money to pay school fees. Information is power.
Ok, good talk, can I have the link sharp sharp... There p.g se na free of charge...

Ok here's a summary:

Both applications submitted to VFS Accra because she lives/works in a neighboring African country (she's a naija citizen).

Program: MSc Technology Innovations Management, Carleton University, Ottawa.
Undergrad degree: BSc Biochemistry
Five years work experience in a bank.

FIRST APPLICATION
Submitted: June 10 (upfront medicals)
Refused June 29 (insufficient funds)

SECOND APPLICATION (deferred admission to Jan 2016)
Submitted: July 28 (same upfront medicals)
Approved August 12

For the second application, we bombarded them with like 100 pages of financial documents and then created a one-page Letter of Clarification (different from the SOP) that concisely described the new evidence. In this letter we had a section titled "Reasons for Prior Refusal" and another titled "Substantive Changes in this Application" and then enumerated the changes in this application. In the first app, we had used a printout of the sponsor's online bank statement, and my sis also left blank the box for "room and board" in her Study Permit form. She had added the "room and board" amount and put it the "Other" category. I now believe that it is important to fill the CIC forms as perfectly as possible, to not cause any doubt.

For the second app, we transferred one year's worth of tuition and living expenses to her university student account at Carleton, and attached the receipt. Her sponsor (brother) lives in the US, so this time the sponsorship letter/affidavit were notarized, and original as well as bank-certified bank statements were also sent. We also included a spreadsheet titled "Available Funds vs Annual Expenses" detailing every estimated expense and every fund available. She included her personal SOA as well. Many thanks to @HayqinsbFX for his answers to my questions when I just joined this thread just a month and half ago (the spreadsheet thing was his idea). Many thanks to @standupguy and @ada4all whose gcms files gave initial insight into what the VOs might have been thinking in this "insufficient funds" case. I pray that your applications will get great results as well.

By the way I am so surprised that applications submitted physically in Accra have a much faster processing time (two and half weeks average for both my sis's applications) than ones submitted in Lagos. This is nuts.

FYI I will still be on this thread as I will be helping another sibling with Canada runs. I hope my sister getting her TRV doesn’t hurt his chances o. We go see.
Congratulations bros... God is wonderful.. I m sending you P.M

I am inclined to agree with you but also note that advanced diplomas take 3yrs but for the fast track which is considered in most schools as a post graduate program takes 2yrs.
E.g the chemical production and power engineering program - accelerated at lambton college is listed as a post graduate program that offers advanced diploma on graduation. (2yrs).

Secondly why would schools create such discrepancies for CIC to take advantage of it?

I will be requesting for my file sha just to put this to rest at least.
We also need to clear it up so people don't fall into the trap.

If that be the case then I think anyone ready for an appeal would have a case.
Guy, I want you to still have HOPE, u will have ur TRV, just do as people said, call for gcms file and retire. How many days or weeks or months will it takes to see outcome of cic, on issue of gcms. Pls reply

This is not true, having studied and worked in most of the G8 countries. I would say Canadians are one the most educated. Right from their apprenticeship level to Post graduate, they don't joke with education. Also, their government is one of the least generous in terms of taking care of the citizen's mess. If you travel to Europe, then you would understand that calling Canadians lazy is an insult.

Because they smoke and party does not mean they don't study, what you experienced is just a culture shock. They party hard just the same way Nigerian student attend campus fellowship back in Nigeria. I have a friend that partied and drank like a fish, (he is from Novia scotia so no suprise) when I was studying in the EU, yet he finished with a First class in Physics and a distinction in Msc Aerospace, so don't be deceived.

Canada is densely populated only in the small provinces like PEI, NFL, NS, NB cos nobody really wants to live in those provinces cos of lack of many opportunities compared to the provinces with big cities. Also, if you look closely at the map of Canada, what percentage of the land is actually Inhabitable, most of the population tend to stay down south in the big cities close to the US border as it's warmer. People don't want to live in northern parts of provinces and what is the population of NWT, Yukon and Nunavut againhuh Those territories are very close to the North pole.

The paragraph in italics is correct. Migration to Canada either as a student or PR becomes relatively easy if you are a high flying student/graduate. I am a living witness to a speedy PR process. There was nothing special in my application. I just submitted my application the usual way back then. The only thing I could point towards that worked in my favour would be good grades in academics and a score of 9 in Ielts. I heard it's rare to score a total band of 9. My advice to anyone coming to Canada would be to try as much as possible to graduate with good grades and all lines would fall into pleasant places.
Nice one...

Hi, thanks again for the form A info. Using diamond bank, I was able to make tuition payments at the rate of 153 naira to the CAD, which was much better than I had hoped for. I was wondering, how long did it take between the time the transaction was completed at your bank and the time the funds were received by your institution?

Hello guys.
Glory to God. I was delayed yesterday based on four reasons:
Insufficient funds, travel history, personal asset, and family ties in Canada n Nigeria.

Truth be told, this CIC style of processing applications for months is the worst ever. They need to review it. Na their mate be USCIS.

So, after rejoicing with you guys and my family for 1 weeks, I received a shocker. Lol! I'm still trying to recuperate. This is a very bad feeling.
All guys expecting TRV, my candid advise, to avoid hypertension, kindly prepare for the worst.
If you have been called for medical, pls, know that that DOESN'T guarantee a TRV.
This is my story.

Chai! So, you guys will be consoling me now. Hahahahahahahahaha!
My dear sister, pls take heart, God will make way where there is no way ok. I think something went wrong, maybe the v.o is considering you have MBA, and you still going for M.A... Or you call for your file Gcms before reapply. Get the school aware of your delay, and when is your resumption date. Believe it.... U will still have it IJN

Okay. This is another relief... What was the time difference between when your application was closed and when the POE into letter was sent pls? My application was closed on the 28th, but i'm yet to get POE letter, even yet to get passport pick up message from VFS, I just tracked out of curiosity this morning and saw my passport is ready for pick-up since the day my application was closed.
Relax.... Be praising God.... Now
