Though av commented couple of times, I used to be an avid observer here...To God be the Glory, medical mail just drop few minutes ago. Filling the visa application form:

I am having problems filling in the part that asks "Expenses in canada will be paid by" since both my parents and my aunt are helping with my funding and the indicator only shows "Myself, Parents and Others"

How do I get ahead of this problem?

If ur parent is d Sponsor, go for parent and if you are using co sponsor go to others. Or house?

Thanks for the idea, i learnt i will get 8-months PGWP . Infact my field is listed in the express entry program, i have work experience + a band score of 7 in IELTS. so I guess am good to go by the special grace of God.

i have been a passive follower on this forum.this is my first time posting on this forum and the good news is i jot got my passport request mail.thanks to everyone who has posted on this forum with useful tips. they are all u need plus loads of faith with God on ur side.
1) applied online 1st of may
2)biometric 5th of may
3) medical call 16th june
4) passport request 22nd june

pls note* i did not notorize any document * my sponsor is a distant uncle we dont even bear the same surnames*no travel history*no landed documents. instead my hometie was a convincing SOP and a good letter of sponshorsip. and very few documents.

The school didn't allow me to pay, in my offer of Admission, they don't indicate the school fees there, they only asked me to pay 500cad, which I made the payment to my student Account. I printed along the deposit receipt in student account. Infact, I beg them to let me deposit,they told me it only when I register for class,which is when I get there. Imagine !

There's been lots of arguements about this particular topic in previous threads, and according to experts, they don't actually ask for people's acct balance, they only do verification of the statement, that's if atall they call the bank cuz they don't do it in all cases, and this is how they say its done,
* did so so transcation take place, in this account on so so date?
* and the bank gives a Yes or No answer.
Not that they outrightly ask for your account balance from the bank.
I believe they will request for a new statement of acct if they want to know.

@tuola Thanks for putting lights to this issues, my second application my sponsor just put 6m to his account, and he printed out the His SOA for me than. And he immediately withdraw the money. I don't want to fall in the same issue again.

Yes, the money may leave the account. Happened in my case and didn't affect the outcome of my application. It is advisable though to leave a meaningful amount to make things easier in the event that you need to reapply. Hopefully that would not be the case.

NEVER! It's absolutely impossible for them to confirm someone's account balance from the bank. It's not done. Take ur mind from that. Only authorised government personnel can do that in cases of fraud, money.laundering, n related crime.

@crich, Do you have someone in thread that get TRV, without the bank confirm the available balance in the account. because, I want to my bank headquarter,I asked those guys,and they told me embassy do called them,and they disclose the available balance as at that date to them. I m now wondering why you said, they can't assess to someone account for verification.

You mean the money may later leave the account as soon as, someone print his/her SOA. because,I had they normally confirm the available balance from the bank as that day they are asking.. Maybe those have been called for medical pr getting TRV, can help us through light to this issue.

In addition to what others have said, it is important to calculate the 'funds available for stay' and soa such that there is money left after all your bills are paid.

For example, if your estimate of total expense (tuition, accommodation, feeding etc) in naira is 5M, your sponsor must have at least 2-3M (eg 7-8M) above that. Unless, the balance is in an account made available exclusively to you. This is because the VO takes into account that aside from sponsoring you, your sponsor also has to meet his or her family's needs. The VO thinks that no matter how much they love you, they will not empty their account for you (especially if your sponsor is not your dad or mum) (them no be naija)

It makes sense therefore that the sponsor's account balance be huge OR be able to show that a significantly he/she has a relatively LARGE steady (read regular i.e. monthly/quarterly) income. If tuition has been fully/partially paid, then a lower soa might be acceptable because a huge part of the expenses has already been covered.

This could be the reason why people with account balances that appear to cover their total expenses still get delayed on account of insufficient funds. #mytwocents

yep, just went through and saw the self-sponsor markusens documents. Glad you took my advise and skimmed through the thread as i suggested. What you can do is go through his documents, noted the similarities and make a decision if you want to make your next application based on the similarities with his/her application or the options @jessicajessica and I suggested. Remember you alone gets to decide how you want to package your application. All we can do here is make useful suggestions which we sincerely hope leads to a successful TRV approval. The wish of everyone on this thread is to get a high percentage of approval from the CIC VOs. 100% approval from CIC Accra, Ghana make sense die.

Thanks for your quick advice, I will make sure my Sponsor and co sponsor soa very strong. Hope both may not be the same surname.

OMG! guys I just got my medical call 5mins ago. Whoever said there is no God that person should have a rethink. This is my third application although my sop/ application wasn't perfect I still went ahead to pray for God's effortless grace n he came through for me.
God is great guys. U can't get your visa without his grace especially if u've bin delayed before.
N I want to say a very big thank u to Obinna I can't remb his name on nairaland but I meet him here, God sent him as my helper. N also@berexio1 thanks for bin the wonderful human u r and for all your help am highly grateful, urs is on its way.
