You must be very religious to still have hope at this time.

Hello, Reality is already staring at you! Absolutely NOTHING can stop Tinubu’s re-election

Y’all act like APC moves are hidden when it’s glaring to all.

It’s a done deal already!
They said obi can't win his ward.
They said obi can't win his local government
They said obi can't win his state
They said obi can't win the South East
They said obi can't win any state in the South West
They said obi can't win any state in the North Central
They said obi can't win get one million votes in the election
They said obi can only get 200 votes in kaduna
They said obi has only 4 people tweeting in a room.
They said obi can only get votes on social media but yet him get 6 million votes and more.
They said these and even more. Never underestimate and underrated the power of the human will. So I will wait for 2027 and see what the Good Lord of Nigeria has installed for Nigeria.

You humans are too emotional!

The end game is that, any combination can still not defeat Tinubu in 2027.

His political structure and dominance has expanded far beyond human comprehension.

If anyone still believe ADV or PDP stands a chance, then such person is not ready to face reality and accept defeat!

The play is not hidden or underground. APC already won prior to elections! First time in the history of democracy on Earth
Everyone should calm down, y'all said more than this in 2023, if no man can see the future, there's always a way when there seems to be no way. 2027 will be very-very interesting. Can't wait

USA, the UK, France, Japan have very levels of corruption.

Despite that, all of them have massive budget deficits. That means their revenues does not cover their expenditures. Zero corruption will not fill hole in the purse.

Nigeria's tax to GDP is very low at 11%. Even if you reduce corruption, revenues need to go up.

But the highlighted is really the issue to you so I understand I am wasting my time.

The irony is that the long suffering poor will only grow poorer if revenues do not increase. I have already used a simple analogy which is evidenced based. You yourself can't deny it.
But people have been suffering before now, so increasing revenue will reduce the suffering without making the economy better for the poor people? Where's the logic?
You can't use 20 billion dollars to better the lives of Nigerians, so you believe 40 Billion dollars will?
Dey play, just dey play

This your argument and the ridiculous permutations are annoying and counterintuitive. I've always maintained that Nigeria's quasi-intellectual class, to which you obviously belong, is our biggest problem. Too much hypocrisy and sophistry, too little morality, pragmatism and objectivity.

You cannot talk about the insufficiency of crude oil revenues and the imperative of enforced tax payments without FIRST addressing accountability and fiscal prudence in the management of public funds. There is no meh meh meh long talk. This is simple and short, and no other fake intellectual argument to the contrary will be entertained.

Your immensely extravagant political class, especially the irritatingly corrupt bat and his gang, and government functionaries at all levels, cannot be spending the "insufficient" crude oil revenues on nonsense, while telling us that what Nigeria needs is more money, from loans, from tax, and from extracting the blood of long-suffering citizens. This will NEVER be tolerated. First things first.
I 1000% agree with you. They are buying cars of 150 million each, they take loans running in billions but can't use such money to better the lives of Nigerians. It's well
PoliticsRe: Femi Otedola Sells Majority Stake In Geregu Power In $750 Million Deal by Omowale2023(m): 4:58pm On Dec 30, 2025
grandstar:
You made a point. Perhaps, no tax,no representation they. If, however, people are made to pay their taxes, then they deserve accountability.

Nevertheless, non-oil taxes need to increase. No matter how prudent, 100k a month salary can not feed a family of 7 kids no matter how prudent one is.

Likewise, the economy can no longer survive on crude oil revenues.

Let us say the government produces 2mbpd and earns $20bn and the GDP is $100bn : that means tax to Gdp is 20%

5 years later $20bn $150bn: This is 15% to the GDP

5 years later $20bn $200bn: that is 10%

5 years later $20bn $250bn 7.5%

Through computation above, by the time it is 10%, the economy will reset. The economy can not grow beyond the crude oil revenues.

If you think I am lying, let's do some maths

In 2014, $1 = N170. The minimum wage was 18,000. That is $106
In 2024, $1= N1,600. The minimum wage is 70,000/ That is $44

Today, the minimum wage is less than half of what it was in 2014.

A lot of it is due to the country's over reliance on crude oil for revenue and for dollar inflows.

If non-oil tax revenues do not rise, the country will keep suffering from thise curse.
The problematic question is this; what have they done with the previous taxes of over 2 years. what is the benefits? as it helped Nigerians? What are or is the Impact(s)?

You asked me for 10 million I gave it you, you didn't account for it, you didn't show me the benefits and impact of the 10 million, and you believe that when you come to me again to give you 20 million I will give you?. It's not possible. Tinubu thinks more money will solve Nigeria's problems, it won't. Fiscal & Financial management not asking for more money is what will solve the myriad of Nigeria's problems
PoliticsRe: Femi Otedola Sells Majority Stake In Geregu Power In $750 Million Deal by Omowale2023(m):
I totally disagree with you, you can't be tasking beyond what your economy can produce, accountability is the sole of business, till now, we don't know who we pay subsidies to, Till now, MDA's haven't given account of the money be allocated to them. The truth is most Nigerians don't run businesses, they are entrepreneurs not business owners, because there's no business owner in this world or heaven that will continue to give money to a department in its organization without giving account on how it spent the money and showing results of the money being spent. Nigeria is not a country.
grandstar:
What most critics of the new tax laws don't understand is they and the country suffers with low tax revenues.

Tax revenues are barely 10% of GDP. Overdependence on oil revenues has led to this problems.

It's because tax collection is low affects the exchange rate of the Naira. Huge borrowing affects the value of the currency.

In addition, low tax revenues is one reason why many are poorly paid. If tax revenues were like 20% of GDP, doctors would be better paid

There's just so much you can squeeze out from crude oil revenues. The economy can not grow greater than it's crude oil revenues.

There's was a time I was in over 200 WhatsApp groups. Now, I was using a 16GB phone. Obviously, it couldn't cope.

The phone kept crashing and deleted lots of ,WhatsApp messages to get back to the 16GB. It was always resetting.

It is the same with Nigerias crude. The economy can't grow bigger than the crude oil revenues. It would continue to reset anytime it passes the crude oil capacity.

There needs to be change.

But to get the role at entry level as proven extremely and excessively difficult. What professional certifications and advanced qualifications do I need to become a quality assurance officer?

PoliticsRe: Northern Elders Quote Qur’an, Bible In Christmas Message, Urge Unity by Omowale2023(m): 2:36pm On Dec 24, 2025
Okay ooo. We don hear, Nigeria must be great again.
Orabi:
The Northern Elders Forum (NEF), has quoted both the Holy Qur’an and the Holy Bible in its Christmas message, calling on Nigerians to embrace unity, peace and mutual understanding.

The forum also extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians in Northern Nigeria and across the country, while conveying its goodwill to all Nigerians as the year draws to a close and a New Year begins.

In a statement by the NEF Spokesperson, Professor Abubakar Jika Jiddere, the forum described Christmas as a season of deep reflection, renewal of faith and reaffirmation of the values of love, peace and sacrifice.

Jiddere said: “It is a moment that calls on individuals and nations alike to pause, look inward, and recommit to the higher ideals that sustain peaceful coexistence.

“As the Holy Bible reminds us, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men” (Luke 2:14). This timeless message speaks directly to our shared aspiration for harmony and mutual respect in Nigeria.

“In the same spirit, the Holy Qur’an teaches: “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you” (Qur’an 49:13).

“This profound guidance underscores the sanctity of human dignity and affirms that our diversity, religious, ethnic, and culture is a divine trust that must be preserved through tolerance and understanding.”

The elders urged Nigerians to use the festive season for sincere national reflection, stressing that the country is at a critical juncture where unity, love and shared responsibility are essential.

Jiddere called on citizens, leaders, institutions and communities to rise above division, reject hate and recommit to peaceful dialogue and collective progress.

He said: “As families travel to celebrate the season with loved ones, the Forum places strong emphasis on safety and the preservation of life. We appeal to all road users to exercise caution, patience, and responsibility, and we urge security agencies and community leaders to remain vigilant in safeguarding lives and property throughout the festive period. No celebration is complete if human life is lost or endangered.

“Looking ahead to the New Year, the Northern Elders Forum expresses hope for a Nigeria guided by wisdom, justice, and compassion. We believe that with sincere leadership and responsible citizenship, our nation can overcome its challenges and move steadily toward peace, stability, and shared prosperity.”

The forum prayed that Christmas would bring comfort to every home and that the New Year would usher in renewed hope, national healing and a stronger sense of brotherhood among Nigerians.

A heated confrontation reportedly erupted at Warri Airport after a woman clashed with airport attendants who allegedly told her she was “not Nigerian” because she was travelling with a foreign passport.

According to eyewitness accounts, the situation escalated when the airport staff reportedly insisted that holding no Nigerian passport automatically disqualified her from being recognized as a Nigerian citizen.
