Likewise, the economy can no longer survive on crude oil revenues.

Let us say the government produces 2mbpd and earns $20bn and the GDP is $100bn : that means tax to Gdp is 20%

5 years later $20bn $150bn: This is 15% to the GDP

5 years later $20bn $200bn: that is 10%

5 years later $20bn $250bn 7.5%

Through computation above, by the time it is 10%, the economy will reset. The economy can not grow beyond the crude oil revenues.

In 2014, $1 = N170. The minimum wage was 18,000. That is $106
In 2024, $1= N1,600. The minimum wage is 70,000/ That is $44

Today, the minimum wage is less than half of what it was in 2014.

A lot of it is due to the country's over reliance on crude oil for revenue and for dollar inflows.

If non-oil tax revenues do not rise, the country will keep suffering from thise curse.

The problematic question is this; what have they done with the previous taxes of over 2 years. what is the benefits? as it helped Nigerians? What are or is the Impact(s)?

I totally disagree with you, you can't be tasking beyond what your economy can produce, accountability is the sole of business, till now, we don't know who we pay subsidies to, Till now, MDA's haven't given account of the money be allocated to them. There's was a time I was in over 200 WhatsApp groups. Now, I was using a 16GB phone. Obviously, it couldn't cope.
