Dear Friends,

As a professional Accountant and a Nairalander, I deem it fit to create this topic.

Having passed all ICAN stages in one sitting(won price in cost accounting at ATS) and currently lectures in professional accountancy tutor centers (Leverage associates and legacy Tutors, I have what it take to answer any question as regards ICAN examinations. Any question at all? feel free to ask.

Adebayo(ACA)
I studied chemistry in Unilag, I want to switch to accounting. How do I go about it?
I already have a professional certification in TRCN. Will it help me skip some stages in I CAN exam. And lastly, I want to be proficient in using accounting tools and software and I want to get ICAN. How do I go about it?
you responses are greatly and urgently needed.

Loyola fees are 5.5 million this year. The majority (80-90 percent) of every graduating class at Loyola attend top universities abroad. How do you put regent, ics (ctl or whatever) ahead of Loyola? What metrices did you use? Also none of those campuses compares to Loyola's in terms of size and (arguably) beauty/landscaping. There a reason it remains the most sort after secondary school in the country.
Please do you have an idea on how to get the teaching certifications he mentioned in his comment?

What baggage? Is he the first player to fall out with his club management? Why was Man Utd begging for him to take a pay cut to play for them if he has all that baggage? They were ready to pay the €75 but wanted him to pay him wages less than £200k/week. Same as Chelsea and Juventus, they were willing to sign him at reduced wages but he refused. The fact is, European clubs don't see African players as deserving of the type of wages European and South Americans earn. Good thing Osimhen did not reduce his worth because he wants to play for a top EPL team now he's the highest earner in the Turkish league. In all you do, always know your worth!
Exactly. That's why I turned a 120k teaching job. Anything below 165k or 150k with accomodation. I won't do the job. You must know your worth.

Governor Hyacinth Alia has already done it and it is working. Other governors should follow suit.

Peter Obi must take permission from state governors to visit their states. He is not above constituted authority.
So someone obeying and respecting constituted authority is now a coward?

In other words, you taking about the type of service or product the company markets. And also the company's mode of operation. I understand.

To me sha, i feel if you are passionate about marketing, you will excel during trial-times. Its just in me. I have a burning desire in how to talk and engage people. I love to be in the public, not arguing about things that doesn't relates with reality, but analysing and having creative conversations.

What you said also adds on how one can be more productive in the job. The style and process of that particular company may kill your vibe. You are correct.

I was marketing this monie-point pos product for a company, some time ago. No salary, just commission. Their model of operation was not all that good too. I suffered alot. But it wasn't the suffering that made me to quit my job with dem. I just feel i wasn't ready enough(was having some personal challenges on my own), so i drifted away from dem.

In the future, i will still engage in a good marketing firm, and eventually start my own sef.

Thanks so much for your contribution.
You are welcome sir. I enjoyed the conversation.

Okay.

But walking around-marketer is still cool to me, if you introduce yourself well and have a sequence in which you talk about yourself and your product.
Its a freelance job(making you to have time for yourself). Apart from the official duty days, you can also go sell your products on your own, during your leisure time, plus scheduling meetings with customers so as to boost more sales!
Bros......no try am. I have done it. Trust me, it's harder than it looks. You are always on pressure to meet target. Working on constant pressure will affect your performance. The only way you can have peace of mind to do that marketing job is if and only if, you are paid salary and allowances (Transport and feeding). Then you will be meeting your target all the time. That's why I will never do insurance Marketing again. They tell you to use your money to transport and feed yourself all the time. Furthermore, if you don't meet your target, they call you lazy and uninspired, insurance Marketing will tell you salary is slavery but yet they expect you to use your own money to look for customers for them and still give you 3.5% commission of whatever money the client/customers drop with them. I made up my mind I will never do insurance Marketing again. I have done marketing for other businesses like NBS(they gave us transport for 3 months straight upfront totalling over 150,000). I worked with another company at ikoyi, they gave me a bus and picked me at the nearest bus stop to my home at 7am to market each local government in lagos for a 2 weeks. A forking freaking bus. And they still have me 5k for transport when I got almost stranded. And guess what, instead of me to do the job in 2 weeks. I did everything in 4 days. Why? because I had transportation to go anywhere I want, the Marketing manager for the brand doubled the salary they were meant to give me. So you see. It's well sha. God help us.

At where please? I want to know.
I know a professor I was working with, he's a very senior professor, just retired recently. I managed his bank accounts when his brother was building a hotel. His brother was sending all money for the project in his account and each time his own salary drops I normally see it because I was the manager of the hotel while under construction, everything about that his salary account was with me both the ATm card and App pins. His salary was 610k the most sometimes it will come as 605k, a senior professor from a university in PH. Though there was another 115k that normally also comes just before days his drops, maybe allowance or so, I never asked because I don't have to.

Nigeria civil service is not it all.
Another of my brother who works With INEC and retired as a EO was earning 450k towards the end of his retirement
This why I want to switch to finance/hr side of things. I have my teaching certification TRCN. But I don't think I will further my career in education unless I will use education to Japa. I felt I wasted my time on the educational path. Anything I will do on education is to Japa. Not to use it to work. I will concentrate on Finance/HR/Marketing/Business Development and Administration. I can't continue to live like this. My life must be better.I Will no longer pursue my PGDE and MEd anymore. Am done. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

PoliticsRe: This Is Why Atiku/obi Ticket Makes Sense For ADC In 2027 Election by Omowale2023(m): 3:46pm On Jul 04, 2025
Sir. Your analysis won't work. The dynamics have changed. Things have shifted. Minds have been made up. Therefore your analysis is 99.9% faulty. As an obi supporter myself. I can't wish he deputize Atiku. It's political suicide.

Slimani:
There is no gain saying that within the ADC coalition group, Peter Obi is the most qualified as the presidential candidate.

I'm a Peter Obi supporter and I wish that he becomes president some day.

However, in an actual presidential contest, Peter Obi would struggle to win Bola Tinubu, not because he cannot actually win, but because there are many institutional, corrupt and sentimental road blocks that are already in place to stop him.

Looking back at the last election, there are 4 top contestants who have strong followership.

- Bola Tinubu: 8.7 million votes
- Atiku Abubakar: 6.9 million votes
- Peter Obi: 6.1 million votes
- Rabiu Kwankwaso: 1.4 million votes

President Tinubu being smart, wants to bring one of the top 4 contestants in the last elections to become his vice. And he doesn't mind to risk losing Shettima and the support of the North East.

President Tinubu is not stupid to make such moves.

All Tinubu wants to do is add Kwankwaso's guaranteed 1.4million votes to his 8.7 million votes, then get his men from the south south to rig him in.

Tinubu + Kwankwaso = 10.1 million votes

If he gets 3 million rigged votes from the South South and 3 million rigged votes from middle belt, including Wike's potential rigging in Abuja, there is nothing stopping him from becoming president again with over 16 million votes.

Now, to the Peter Obi matter.

Is it not common sense for Peter Obi to try to add Atiku Abubakar's 6.4 million votes to his 6.1 million votes?

Atiku + Peter Obi = 12.5 million votes

That is guaranteed votes of over 12 million votes, higher than what Tinubu could get with his alliance with Kwankwaso, plus Atiku's Northern sentiment might help reduce Kwankwaso's influence and stop Tinubu's rigging machinery in the North.

If Peter Obi runs with Atiku, there's every possibility that together, they could get over 15 million votes. That number would be very hard to rig against.

Now, nothing stops Peter Obi from running again as a Presidential candidate. He could partner with an influential figure in the north, such as El-rufai, Bala Mohammed, or even Kwankwaso if he can convince him.

He could even get emotional votes from the South and from those who believe that the South should complete their 8 years tenure.

However, Peter Obi without Atiku makes it very easy for Tinubu and the APC to rig the elections.

Peter Obi (without) Atiku = 6.1 million votes

If the ADC coalition members back Obi and support him with their structure, Obi might perform better than last time, but Tinubu would easily have his way due to the aforementioned institutional roadblocks and the North not viewing Peter Obi as their own.

President Tinubu would find a way to get re-elected.

Peter Obi as presidential candidate would make his Obidient and southern supporters happy, but he wouldn't win. The powers that be would not let him, and he wouldn't have enough of the required firepower to wrestle power from the desperate APC in 2027.

Peter Obi running as presidential candidate would even make the APC happy. They would easily rig him out and tell him to go to court again.

And there is every chance that if Peter Obi wants to run as a presidential candidate, he would have to leave the ADC coalition, which would then give Atiku their ticket, resulting in the same split votes like in the 2023 election.

This is not the time for emotions or sentiments. This is a war, and President Tinubu and his goons like Nyesome Wike know this. That is why they are not giving the opposition any room to thrive. They are attacking and infiltrating the opposition from all angles.

Now, Peter Obi has to make a choice.

A choice to please a few of his emotional supporters and run with the naive narrative of a single-term southern President, which is almost guaranteed to make him lose the elections again.

Or a choice to work with empirical strategies and join those who are battle-tested and ready to wrestle power from the incumbent.

Let's stop deceiving ourselves. No politician is a saint, and Nigeria doesn't need a saint as a president. If the current Nigeria is not what we want, then the priority is to first change the person there, then we start the conversation of how to move forward.

It doesn't matter if the president comes from the North, South, East or West. Nigeria needs a president that is responsive and empathetic to the needs of the populace. Nigeria needs a president that knows that he can be removed if he doesn't perform well.

I'm of the opinion that the current president is not HIM and the best chance of Nigeria getting a new president is a coalition ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

I drop my pen.

Well.....I totally think your prediction is 51% accurate, but nonetheless, it's very quiet okay. Therefore, what you are saying is if ATIKU is on this ticket. The coalition is wasting its time. Therefore the only thing that can make this coalition work is to allow obi do 1 term and pick Elrufai as vice. Only then can we take the coalition serious, right?

I have checked all PGD courses and an HND certificate is not eligible.

Do you have any information on this, please?
You can apply for PGD for any course. Not a masters. So you can buy the form.
PGD is for these set of people:
1. Associate degree holders e.g HND
2. Bsc holders who want to venture in other fields. E.g I studied biology but I want to do msc in accounting. I have to do a PGD in accounting before I can do the msc in accounting.
3. Graduate with 3rd class or pass in there first degrees and want to further their education, but you can't further your education if you don't upgrade. Therefore you must do a PGD to upgrade your degree before furthering your education.

So go and get your PGD form. You are safe
