We've been married for a year now and blessed with a pretty daughter. My wife feels little or no urge to be intimate. Its been more than a month now since I had s*x. Madam,
Reading through your post gave me a good glimpse of how you really feel at the moment with whatever occurred between your best friend and your husband. However, as bad as it appears to you, I strongly feel you should give them both the benefit of doubt -based on the trust you had for you husband before your health issues and other stuff came up.

For a mere man or woman out there, it's so hard to let completely but ensure you let it go completely through God's help and don't use it against them in future or in your words when mad at your husband.

I feel there is need to enlighten everyone about arsenic. This is in reaction to a post on nairaland recently title: You Will Never Throw Away Rice Water After Reading This...!


Here is why:
Swedish authorities warned parents on Tuesday not to feed their children rice cakes after high levels of arsenic were detected in the popular snack.

The Swedish National Food Agency (Livsmedelsverket) caused a stir in the Nordic country on Tuesday when it confirmed that a number of popular rice products contain arsenic and told parents not to let children aged under six eat rice cakes.

"Many children eat rice cakes as a snack, but unfortunately we must advise against this. Other countries are also giving this advice," Emma Halldin Ankarberg, toxicologist at the Swedish National Food Agency, said in a statement on Tuesday.

The agency explained that arsenic in rice had been on its radar since a study in 2011-2012 found that if a child drinks rice drinks every day for several years they risk ingesting dangerous amounts of the poisonous chemical.

UK food agency FDA is also among those advising children not to consume rice drinks. And Germany's Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) recommends eating rice cakes "in moderation".

Researchers examined 102 different rice products on the Swedish market and found that rice cakes – a snack many parents regularly give their children – contained the highest levels of the chemical, which is dangerous in larger amounts.

The company Midsona, which owns Sweden's rice cake producers Friggs, saw its shares on the Stockholm stock exchange fall by around four percent on Tuesday morning as a result of the news. It did not want to comment when asked by Swedish media but said it was studying the agency's report.

All in all, consumption of the cereal grain has been growing in Sweden in the past decades, with Swedes today eating four times more rice than in the 1960s.

"We understand that it can be difficult for those who have food traditions based heavily on rice, for example people from many Asian countries, but our advice is still to gradually try and eat less rice," said Halldin Ankarberg.

She also advised adults to limit their consumption of rice to a few times a week.

"The conclusion is that it is good to have a varied diet, as well as to eat different brands. By doing this we decrease the risk of ingesting too much of harmful substances. This applies to all food, not just rice and rice products," she said.

Long-term arsenic exposure is known to increase the risk of lung or bladder cancer. And brown rice, which as a wholegrain product is normally seen as the choice for health-conscious Swedes, often contains higher levels of arsenic compared to white rice.

The EU has previously agreed on a maximum level for arsenic in rice, which is set to come into effect by January 1st next year. But the Swedish National Food Agency said the maximum levels remain too high to offer sufficient protection for consumers.

"Giving advice on how much rice and rice products you should eat will not solve the problem in the long term. The Swedish National Food Agency is therefore working to further reduce the maximum levels, in order to remove products from the market that have a high arsenic content. We are also urging companies to source rice that is as arsenic-free as possible in their production," said Halldin Ankarberg.

Arsenic is a chemical element naturally present in the environment and is absorbed by rice through irrigation water or the soil. You can affect the amount in your intake by for example boiling the rice using extra water which you then drain off before eating.

Good evening fellow nairalanders....... I finished my NYSC on 15th of October and fortunately for me, I got my offer letter last week. The total payoff after a month is 30k, I'm to resume on monday but some of my siblings advised me not to accept the offer because I am a second class upper student(B.SC) and I'm less than 24. Probably a better offer will come in because I'm still in the employment age cycle. Pls advice me on this cos I dont knw wen that better offer will come in and another believe I have is that half bread is better than none.

My candid words on this: accept the offer and actively apply for other ones as you work there. Give it your best while you are there and learn as much as you can learn -stepping stone.

Just like you, i recall when i graduated with 2.1 , I was offer a placement for 27,000 naira then -2007. Perhaps, I have to source for funds from my parents before the month end just for me to meet up with transportation then because it really not enough to carry me through a month. Today, I am not longer there any more. i work for a multi-national telecommunication firm and I earn more than 30% increase of that salary in 2007. I am still in good contact with the first company I worked for till this day and I still have some friends I met and left there in my pursuit for a better salary. Perhaps, those guys are still working there till this day.

I only leverage on what I have to get what I don't have with definitely trust in God to pave way for me in life. Staying at home will only limit your chances in life in connecting to the right people in life or moving forward as well.

Well,I don't think she is fed up with the relationship.I have come to understand that circumstance sometimes make one react the way one shoud not have.It all boils down to the fact that her job and yours requires a turn around for good.No girl(provided she isn't seeing anyone) in her right sense will opt to leave a guy she really loves.

Well,I consider you a lucky fellow since you can always get to see her face to face from time to time.Unlike you,am currently outside the country for studies and will be through soon to at least get a job and also be join with my fiancee in marriage. At times the distance thing is just there and very much obvious but I still try to be close via regular calls and emails. And just like you,my fiancee was told me that too and that was when she wasn't working but i sure took time to analysis the whole stuff and i can tell you that the job factor and need to settle down quickly counts much in a situation as this.

 I will suggest you do your best to make it work and also consider changing your job (as soon as you find one) so as to get concrete with her.Also,while you look out for a new placement,carry her along by looking out for her too.Her job gives her some sense of satisfaction too and not just what you make from your monthly income.She loves you,but also craves for a secure future (in all respect) with you.Every decent lady you find around loves some sense of security and progress in life.
