Poster, marriage comes with its own dynamics. And you are not the only one with in similar or worst situation. While it is not so easy to cope with such a situation, there are ways around it. I have read a comment where someone suggested that you find someone (married woman or women) whose marriage is working and tag along with them. It has a way it rubs off on you as an individual and on your husband as well. Of course, I can understand a bit of his own concerns about your relationship with him or other male counterpart, but it should not be without understanding. For instance, I don't see why a man should prevent his wife from talking to opposite sex provided she knows how to set her boundaries with everyone. I believe we are all free being and we know what is right from what is wrong. Perhaps, I am married and I cook and wash the dirty dishes when my wife isn't available to do so. Even when she is cooking, I am helping out with the cleaning as well. Why should any grown man wait for his wife before he lift a finger in doing the home chores? It's not written anywhere that the woman has to do everything in the home. Men can step in too. I also run an IT firm as well as my daily job but in all these, my wife still finds one or two things to complain about from time to time. For me, it comes down to doing your best as an individual, exploring new ways to bring more money and also driving peace in my home. Aside, your dreams are valid and no one should stop another person's light from shining just because a person doesn't want to attain greatness in life. However, I will suggest you do it in a mature manner. Some of us, it takes time to get there even if we have a wife who wishes to see us get there and some won't ever get there even if you provide them with all the needed resources. Marriage entails growth and the need to constantly work on it. Don't dim your light because of others around you. Rather let your light shine so that it may be evident to everyone around you. Of course, your husband has his own view to life as well and we have not heard from him. But in all you have said, he needs someone (the right person) to push him and that is where having the right people whose marriage and careers are working. The abroad life calls for constant self development and leveraging on opportunities that comes around but if one is not prepared, opportunities will continually be a mirage to such as person. He is a good man, from what i read, but he needs a bit of push from the right person(s). Also, note that the dynamics will change once you start having kids of your own. You can not afford to be the only one who steps in for the family else you will have a major burn out and it could lead to many other unforeseen issues for you and him. The earlier he steps up to manhood the better for him and you. In all, you need the right company (good people with good intentions - i don't mean religious people) to help give him a kick start and also continue in that path. |

Sometime two years ago, I was offered a job and I turned it down. However, after a few days, the hiring manager felt he needed to know why I turned it down. We got talking and appropriate changes were made from the hiring company which I later accepted. Today, looking back at the entire event, I don't regret that I switched company because I earn better than the previous company with lots of bonus and free time as well. I am also fulfilled on the job with lots of challenging task to do everyday. |
how come some fraudster get the option of fine whereas some others don't? Doesn't same rule in the book of law cut across every similar cases? |

Two full-length self-driving buses are set to start trafficking a popular Stockholm route next year, reportedly making Sweden the first country in Europe to start deploying autonomous buses on public roads. The electric-powered buses - developed by Nordic busmakers Scania and Nobina - will be deployed on the Barkarbystaden-Akalla public traffic route just north of Stockholm during the course of 2020, Swedish broadcaster SVT reported. The autonomous buses, which will drive in a special bus lane and be monitored by a security driver, will start out travelling without passengers on just one kilometer of the route, but will eventually be rolled out to cover a five-kilometres-long stretch and carry up to 300 passengers per day. According to SVT, the move will make Sweden the first country in Europe to deploy self-driving buses on public roads. Kristoffer Tamson, chairman of Stockholm’s public transport company SL, said: "Thanks to this unique agreement, SL will write European public transport history. This is a gigantic step forward for us in our ambition to lead the development of public transport toward smarter, greener and better solutions."

What can i say? Poster most of the stuff you wrote are completely true but I have come to understand that it is not any better in Nigeria. Of course, if you have you money in Nigeria, you can get things done but there are certain aspect of life in Nigeria that make you wonder if life will ever gets better. I have been living in Sweden for over 9 years now and I can tell you than it's much better here compare to Nigeria. Yes, there are rules and guide towards everything and the community isn't as interactive as what we have always enjoyed in Nigeria. I can mention a bit of those good quality of life style here that makes it much better than Nigeria: 1. Free health care and dental care for kids from age 0-23 2. Strong labor union 3. Clean air 4. Good road network and transportation for all 5. Free education for its citizens and those on working permit. 6. Security of life and properties. 7. Monthly income from government if you have kids from 0 to 18 years of age. 8. Constant electricity unlike what we experience in nigeria today. 9. Ability to visit or live in other neighboring countries if you are a citizen and lots more Even with this, you will agreed with me that not ever country has it all and there is not perfect system anywhere in the world. Of course, I very well understand your view of things but perspective towards life and where we find ourselves at times is a key towards having it better even in a system that doesn't favour or appeals to us |
I recently saw a clip on similar issue on Steve show lately. A lady in this case had requested for way out, just as you have asked here. Anyway, here is the suggestion that Steve ( a former Stammer from birth and now a great TV show presenter) gave her. He requested her to say everything sentences internally 3 times before voicing it out. Saying it three times help to stabilized the mood of the speaker and they on the fourth time, you are audible and clear without Stuttering or stammering. Also, avoid looking at anyone in the face while speak for now cause this in a way causes some form of fear in you. You can look else where and as you get better at it, you can choose to maintain eye contact much better to gain more confidence when you speak. I am glad you said you have some friends who understand you very well. You can have them stay behind you while you face a mirror and have them ask you questions while you practices this internalization speech three times before voice it out. Constant practice it key towards gaining mastery over any task or situation in life. I wish you the very best and sure hope you get better and that Stuttering issue becomes a thing of the past in your life. Be of good cheer, you are more than a conqueror. |
Just a heads up or update: Swedish passport use to be the most powerful passport before now due to the number of countries a swede can visit without passport. However, it's no longer the case according to : https://www.passportindex.org/byRank.php We can see that it's position has drop and almost in same ranking as Germany and other related country in the EU. However, I have come to understand that your passport doesn't define you as a person. By God's grace and mercy, I have both Nigerian and a Swedish a passport and I can tell you that I don't feel any different compare to when I didn't have a Swedish passport. I have not even traveled out for once with it. Not because i don't have the money or time, but I have come to understand that the greatness of a man is not tie to any of this passports but it lies within everyone. |
First, I consider this as a myopic way of thinking about life and marriage. As humans, we tend to want to have everything we can grab while alive but the truth is that no one gets out with a pin. Even in the grave, all these are being consume by ants and what have you. On the other hand, I recall a story I read on motherhoodInStyle, the wife of this man has always pleaded to have registry wedding even after two kids. In the man in question refuses to give in cause he felt the mother of his two kids was after his properties. Well, as God would have it, she go a job transfer to the US and she needed to relocate there permanently as well with her family - all expense paid. Friends, come and see how this man is begging to go do the registry wedding he once stood against for many years. Of course, it was obvious that the change in attitude was because of his needs to relocate to the US with his family and due to the poor state of his business. In all, the lady in question has refuse to go to the registry with him and even the lady's father stood by her daughter on this. This simply explains the need to live life as easy as it comes without complicating life with the affection or need to acquire properties thus damaging precious gift of life such as good relationship with those in our lives. |
this reminds me of a video i saw recently... enjoy it: https://www.facebook.com/mcchopmoney/videos/387305505011493/ |
Not just for governmental jobs, all jobs that will ever get advertise should have age requirement removed. Also I see a need to strengthen the labour law in Nigeria as a whole. I don't understand a situation where people are being sacks from their jobs without prior notice or reimbursement for a specific duration of 3-6 months after being laid off. We still have a long way to go in Nigeria when it comes to strengthen our labour laws. |

In view of the unfortunate killing of this young man by his wife by stabbing for cheating, i would like to proffer the following advise to my brothers: Keep 2 phones- 1 for not to be brought home but kept in the boot of the car downstairs. Develop the habit of deleting as you read. It will save your life. Take your wife for mental check up regularly Save your girlfriends number with your mothers name. It's a major repellent. Change your password daily. Never marry a quiet woman. The ones that will scream and slap will never kill you. Never pretend to be faithful. Let them catch you once in a while. It's training and will prepare them. Lock up all the knives in your house and let her sign a register stating what she needs them for and allocate time frame for usage. Regulate the usage of rat poison and other chemicals In the house. Make sure her mother taste your good before eating. Regulate and supervise her relationship with her mother. That would cut off supply chain for arms. Date secondary school girls they are not very needy and will not send texts at night Sleep with your body ensconced in armour and borrow or buy okada helmet to protect the head Have a sit down with your wife and discuss possible methods of your death on the event of her catching you. This is to ensure a painless transition When choosing a girlfriend go for the most beautiful and exotic that you can find. Since it is now a matter of life and death chop better so your death would be justified Finally, update your will on a daily cos you will surely be caught... |

Hello Moderator and Everyone, i came across the above topic on today's nairaland front page. Among the various tips offered in the thread, i was surprise that no one could give links or even provide proof that the tips really works. Based on good gesture, I choose to share my experience as well on something related to ways of getting paid through online job. i suggest a career path which I have known for more than 9 years and one which offers a platform for getting paid - software testing To my greatest surprise, my contribution was flagged, prevented from being publish and I was banned as well. This has left me in a kind of confuse state cause my suggestion is quite legitimate without any investment. All it required is being able to test a software or website at your own free time on your mobile device and then you are paid in return. I have been doing this for over two months now and I make cool money from it. I even went ahead to post a picture of what i have made thus far in my previous post but it wasn't published. I will like to know when does helping others with vital information and proof becomes a spam contribution? The moderators on this page don't take their time to investigate things really well before going ahead to do what they do. if anyone of you is willing to know more about it. I can offer you links to the website via private chat cause i can't tell if add such here will make the new post to be banned or not. Moderator, I will be more than happy if you banned me for life on this page in my attempt to help those reading this. Good information liberates so why hidden the flow of good information in every way? |
You can also make money or even find a good job via online testing of software. i started it sometime around July,2017 and below is how much i have made as at today. There are several of them online, you can register with www.utest.com , testbirds.com and several other ones too.

All new Volvo cars will be equipped with an electric motor from 2019, making it the first of the world's traditional car makers to pull the plug on cars powered only by a combustion engine. “This is about the customer,” said Volvo Cars president and chief executive Håkan Samuelsson in a statement. “People increasingly demand electrified cars, and we want to respond to our customers' current and future needs. You can now pick and choose whichever electrified Volvo you wish.” Volvo said it would launch five fully electric cars between 2019 and 2021, as well as petrol and diesel plug-in hybrids and so-called “mild-hybrid cars”, cars with a small petrol engine and large battery. “This announcement marks the end of the solely combustion engine-powered car,” said Samuelsson. “Volvo Cars has stated that it plans to have sold a total of one million electrified cars by 2025. When we said it we meant it. This is how we are going to do it. Volvo Car Group is owned by Chinese Geely Holding. It is headquartered in Torslanda, Gothenburg, and has a factory there as well as in Ghent, Belgium, and Chengdu, China. European car makers have been racing to develop electric vehicles. German car giant Volkswagen is championing electric models in a bid to clean its tarnished reputation, after it admitted in September to installing emissions cheating software in 11 million diesel-powered cars worldwide. Higher-end manufacturers like BMW and Daimler, which owns Mercedes, are also jostling for a share of the electric vehicle market, but face a challenge from newcomers like Tesla, which has had a head start in autonomous driving as well as electric power. source: https://www.thelocal.se/20170705/volvo-reveals-plans-to-go-all-electric-sweden |

Life can sometimes be though while growing up especially in a place like Nigeria. i guess the reason why the poster feels he does today is due to his unpreparedness for it. Off course every parents should be there for their kids no matter how old they are. However, lack of finances sometimes make them a bit indifference to their child(ren) upbringing. Just like the poster, i once observed almost similar trait in my dad as well but then I was almost done with my undergraduate studies. i had to brace up to take on life head-on . With God's help and grace, i am in a different place today and I have a child of mind own as well. I reside in a different country today and from all observation, the system inculcates the act of independence into a child right from age 1 till age 18. Even when I try to help out by every means possible, It amazes me to see my child take initiative on her own without wanting input from me. In fact, she takes pride in it. Perhaps, irrespective of how independent she grows to become in life, I will forever be there for her no matter what happens. @ Poster, I know life can be hard growing up in Nigeria but then don't let these hold you down from moving forward with your life. You can still attain greatness in life irrespective of happenings around you today. Make the right friends, take the right decision and above all trust God to see you through it. With the little that God had help me to achieve today, I am definitely sure my child(ren) will always be thankful to God for help me attain such heights because he/she will not be starting where my parents stopped but where I stopped at after I leave this earth. In closing, in the words of the preacher, he said and I quote "For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion." - Ecclesiastes 9:4 You have hope and you will definitely make it through life to being greater than your parents if you keep your heart to it. |
