ivandragon:VAT is on consumption not on production. A state producing agricultural produce can always get its VAT revenue from the processed goods sold in e.g. stores. Ondo wouldn't get any vat on bitumen, etc. going by that logic, percentage of the income tax on the bitumen extraction, yes, royalties on the bitumen extraction, yes, but no VAT per se. VAT is on final goods consumed, not on goods produced. So, the issue would be on "how well does your state consume VATable goods?" It is remitted by the retailer, and not the manufacturer. Unless this bill stipulates otherwise. |
The North milks South-South's oil tax revenue, that is not enough, gets Lagos state's and River state's VAT, the FG says it's enough but like a leach, a leach would never leave the host easily without throwing tantrums and staging oppositions. Please, what does the North ever give the South? Their gold, they say it's theirs only, but continue to want to eat from the South's pot and leave terrorism and banditry in their passing. The tax reform bill, it has to pass! |

Ringstonermasks:So it is building architecture that is your problem? Benin had the great wall of Benin and they built it themselves, and was highly functional to them. None of the West's walls come close. History says that Igomigodo (now Benin) had issues sometime, and what they did, they invited Oranmiyan. Note, invited. That is what occurs when a people see someone else as better, more advanced, they are invited. The West were never invited, were not asked to come, but they imposed themselves, imposing foreign rules, foreign ideas, and exploiting, plundering and intentionally creating political turmoils. You're not only suffering from stockholm syndrome, you're also suffering from lack-of-know-ownself syndrome. Colonialism is bad in all guises, terrible in all guises, besides that the Western colonialism was for resources exploitation, it meant the imposition of foreign ideologies that conflict existing philosophies (a debar of continuous growth for the colonized). And regarding architectures, let me school you a little. The Brits built roads indeed for vehicles to ply from Lokoja to Lagos, for transportation of exploited minerals that Lokoja people were used as slaves to farm and to mine out, only that route. South Africa isn't entirely developed architecturally, see Soweto and the rest, but asides the route for transportations, where they wanted to settle at, the Dutch settlers (South Africa's weather was so soo warm, they didn't only come to plunder, take slaves but also chased away the original owners of the land, and were bringing their children, their big families to settle forever in the South Africa.) Wanted to do to South Africa what they did to Australia. In Australia, where and how many are the aboriginals left? SA was just lucky to have been in Africa and had larger publicity in comparison to like Australia. So Mr Ringer, know thyself and cure thyself. Foreign rules and the worst of it by the West is all shades of utter evil with completely zero silver lining unless the affected only choose to overlook them. |
More, more. They need to do more. |
Maj196: EmperorCaesar:New year is not just any other day. It is the day or approximate day that the earth completed yet another revolution around the sun. If anything, tomorrow should be a day dedicated to appreciating Gd for earth and for keeping its inhabitants. New year is special day. |
Do both, but make sure that your investment in the cocoa farming is much more. Cash crops farming is like free money. Many families I know are with wealth as a result of it, so do both. And if you may not be on ground, engage in partnership for a start. |
Biodun556: IDF is tooooo moral by any human standard. You all Islamic terrorists should often bow and lick the boots of any IDF officer and lower cadre officer that you see. |
Strength to the IDF! Victory to Israel at all times! |
“Nigeria is a nation that has its own capacity to protect its citizens… We are well capable and able to safeguard our country, and we’re doing it in this administration,” he affirmed.Sarcastically, the above is soooo accurate. Nigeria is working. Security is astonishing. Anyways, enough of these stories of verbal attacks and counter-attacks. Northern Nigeria, Niger, Chad, the sahel West Africa in short and terrorists are family members, they should sort themselves out. The earlier the Northern politicians and fellow Islamic politicians pro-terrorism better put their childishness, finding fun and comedy in terrorism and put their personal interests asides to pursue development of themselves, their legacy and large generations unborn, the earlier they would put an end to the terrorism that they started and kindle by themselves. |
malali:You terrorists sympathizers love to shift your goalposts. It's sickening. So if it is demilitarized zone like North and South Korea that ![]() Also, Israel with the rest of the world, EU and co then agreed and drew out two-state solution for the State of Israel and the fake Even to this day, Muslims/Arabs/terrorists sympathizers chant "from river to the sea, they want to continue coveting Israeli lands", so you were saying what again? Hamas went into Israel and murdered young and old 1200+ Israelis, kidnapped and committed rape on women, you lots jubilated, celebrated and revelled over it, and murking "no one can kill an ideology". So, what happened to your said demilitarization zone then? You're a Muslim, and deception is your unholy way. I'm not surprised. |
malali:It's simple, you Muslims say Israel is your mortal enemy, the life of one Jew, the path of 10,000 of you to paradise. You say it is an ideology. Israel is for peace, hadn't taken war on the root-cause of terrorism, which is Islam and the koran, and which would mean all Muslims (nothing like moderate) would either have to die or renounce their religion forever. Israel decides not to take war to the root-cause of the terrorists/Arab problem, and treats the symptoms instead. So, often and often, since your ideologies don't die, having to destroy the terrorists and terrorists' military capabilities just seem be it, every "10 years for over hundred years". Israel Army doesn't propaganda. In fact, they understate themselves. |
malali:Not bunker buster, perhaps "mountain rumbler"? |
malali:Disappear into the mountains? Cool. They'd use cheap bomb made of dynamites to crack and destroy the mountains, and all the terrorists under it and their prostitutes, dead, destroyed from rubble, and the stones of the mountains would even be more helpful in escalating the bombing. And should they be hiding inside the caves or underground the mountains, even better, "stuck underground they'd be". If what you said is true, I can say, Israel and US has got easy luck with this indeed. Dynamite-powdered bomb, and the rocks of the mountains would do the rest for them. All thanks to Father Nature. Or they could go stone-age and use sling. Even lower cost. |
otipoju:She'd be let go of by the court eventually. And you're correct, she's supposed to be bailable, even without the royalty's interference. |
Besides arraigning the Queen, can the said mothers that threw their children/wards over the fence also be arraigned? |
frankputer:That's not even possible, cause that'd mean the hacker hacked the bank targeting his account, and that'd be a bank vulnerability issue, not his website. And hacking a bank? Please, who are the team of hackers? If money was stolen from him indeed, his password was stolen, maybe in a hack and his auth device/token device, etc. was taken control of or plainly stolen. |
His logon access to the banking infrastructure could have been hijacked, but his bank account through a webapp was definitely not hacked. "Hacked" is just like the go-to word on any cybersecurity issue, but not every cybersecurity exploit is a hack. He could have been tricked for the malicious actor to gain control of his device/auth devices and spoofed his password or something, but definitely wasn't a hack on his bank account, but perhaps, hack on other stuff. |
Wallade: Justifying Israelis acts of ...No dearest, I'm educating you on the state of things. on nairaland like the Israelites recognize or care about you.Yeah, like, who gives a hoot? You're delusional. Fool!I'm not gonna exchange words with you, ok? Get help! |
Ok, let them pay. |
Wallade:I'm not sentimental towards Israel. I was helping you out by telling you that if Israel was genocidal and has genocidal interests, the population of I'm not sentimental towards any nation or cause, read my post. Israel is and ever remains beautiful. Sanity also says Israel is often always correct. Evidence and reality reveals that the IDF is most moral amongst peers even when no one was watching. Re-read my post without your own insanity, ok? |
Wallade: Israel has the chance to commit such genocide but they are not doing such. They could just do that and damn the consequences, but they don't and never have interest to. Israel is such beautiful country, IDF is such moral force. |
EnEnPeecee:No don't let them level Yemen. Yemenis have suffered so much in the hands of Saudi Arabia, their sufferings shouldn't be compounded. Beautifully, Israel would target the Houthi terrorists and their environs, and precisely target the Houthi terrorists, and leave the Muslim Yemenis who are yet to sign up for terrorism be. |
"Weak Naira Is Good, Many People Can’t Travel Again". Funny people. If people cannot travel again, that means everyone in the travelling economic chain has been rendered jobless. People need to travel, monies need to change hands, that is economy, many people need to be included, that is employment. This government is a funny one. |
kingbee90:Of course they do. Even in Nigeria here in federal ministries, do you know how much they "whisper" into the ears of the officials, and never a useful whisper, but one to ensure backwardness always and to serve their own economic interests, data collection interests, etc. often solely to the detriment of the country's people, with zero benefits, and perhaps some fancy perks/huge monies to the officials involved. And that's only the ministries. |
Botragelad:And how will they deal with the terrorists? Terrorism in Nigeria and the bulk of West Africa isn't about weapons or even difficult intelligence gathering (as "everyone" knows the foot terrorists and their hideouts), but about structure of governance and society, and openly, the West, the former colonialists, the Europeans who jump at any opportunity that could destabilize anywhere they have exploitative economic interest in in Africa. Would encourage terrorism, militancy, any form of destabilization tactics, and their coy NGO's are ever up to the tasks, their supposed diplomats and even corporates. It's open stuff. In order of ever-fuelling terrorism in the bulk of West Africa: 1000 index - the West (as they ever receive or convince or talk away the minds of people in government in the countries and it often works, reason the leaders are called puppets) and also on side with their foot soldiers, fund and encourage the terrorism; 400 index - the wealthy ones among the Muslims, in Nigeria, e.g. Northern elites who love the terrorism, sponsor them even and it's their way of acting lord-like over the poor ones by having a control of terrorists that do their violence biddings, and also corruption from military budgets; 100 index - Iran, Turkey and other Middle East Islamic countries. Their influence is lower and their monies and weapons are even in lower supply compared to other sources. So, should the super ambitious military leader even want to destroy the terrorists, given the ever-presence of the above, they are like seeds, they'd spring back up as poverty, bribery of Imams and huge population continuously makes person A become a terrorist and kill his own friend, or become a bandit and kidnap his own inlaw. Final bottom line: the West has a big dipped hand. France is a West! Edited: And their solution to it is unity. That if Niger says that France is an enemy, Nigeria also says France is an enemy, Congo says France is an enemy and so on. The Europeans united in evil of exploitation of other continents, subsequently had their EU ever united in the progress of Europe and subjugation of the supposed third worlds. The Africans should have their own north star of unification. African. countries are small in terms of resources and ability to semi-independence should sanctions, but as Yoruba's say, if tiny spiders join hands together, they'd lift the elephant. An Africa where a sovereign country's leader, Gaddafi is murdered by the US and Europe, and the rest Africa and even Islamic coalition countries do not look away is achieveable but by unity of strength and purpose, otherwise, "forever puppets of the West". |
TheNiceGuy:No! To them, there is already law, constitution of the country that is comprehensive and has already dictated those. Killing other humans for whatever purpose has already been dictated by the constitution and the Nigerian Police, even Amotekun, Civil Defence, all enforce that. Since there is the constitution, it like a devil of confusion that would then seek to introduce another body of law for same purpose, creating parallel justice system, a precursor to unnecessary instability. Why are hellbent on shariah known to have destroyed northern Nigeria, known to have destroyed Afghanistan? How about you channel your energy to the upliftment of the Nigerian constitution rather than seeking parallelism known for destruction? |
There should just be law, particularly in the Southwest that religion should stick to religion only, and under no circumstance creep into law, commerce, banking, politics, health, core education or any other aspects of society. Religion means the mode of worship of God, god or gods and its attendant practices and observations. Under no circumstance should any religion go out of religion to dictate to any other aspect of society, as the constitution is supreme and only supreme to dictate laws, international standards of banking have made provisions for banking, and so on and so forth. Religion = religion, limit itself to religion only, and its activities limited to their for-worship-buildings (except in times of e.g., publicity, temporary short time-based external settings). |
It shouldn't only be postponed but thwarted completely. SW and its environs is what it is, open-minded, hospitality, peace-first as a result of obedience to the principles of Oduduwa, iwa omoluabi, that some foreign violence and senseless brain-reducing laws be not introduced in anyway to it. Whatever muslims are there amongst the Yoruba should practise their religion and limit it to religion and religion only, not to law or commerce or politics, or any such. Limit to religion and religion only. As much as any other religions. Yoruba successfully had traditionalists with over 400 gods (analogically religions) living in religious peace, and that's by following the principles of Oduduwa, of well-behaviour. Under no circumstance, regardless of whatever huge bribe or threat to life should any Yoruba tow the path that may lead to unnecessary disagreements, strife or instability among Yorubas. Yoruba ('all of us') should often be first, and honoring/obedience to Oduduwa, the father of Yoruba should often be the Gdly path. |
From what I've understood from christians, jesus is god and could often use father, son due to this: there is god the father and that is he, god the father came to earth in human flesh, and that is god the son, jesus. Roughly meaning that jesus is god, the earthly human flesh he. Now as jesus, the earthly man, god the human form, thus the son, was crucified, dead, buried and resurrected, ascending back unto heaven then left for his disciples yet another representation of he, holy spirit (a spirit now, not god being god, and not god in the form of man) to jesus the son's disciples and followers. So, going by that, jesus is god on earth, holy spirit is spirit of god, thus it is god the father, the son and the holy spirit, the trinity. That is what Christians say, and essentially the reason for the trinity by the holy Catholic church. Now, to your main illustration that he jesus doesn't know the hour, that's easily understandable to the sense that he as an earthly human may not be able to say or conditioned himself to be able to say, but as he goes back to heaven as he, the father, he would then come back again to earth to enact the said judgements as a 'thief in the night'. So, even without the Catholics' giving, from the new testament itself, it would oft easily be deductible that jesus' claims just thus means god's representation on earth. It is finished! To believe that is to be christian, to not believe that is to be anti-christian. Choose what's good for ya. |
