CareerRe: Self Employment Or O & G Job by oniisaac: 8:49am On Feb 26, 2017
Hi... I will advice she focus on her business; grow it, innovate and be happy with her life.

Don't mistake jobs in IOCs (international oil company) /NOCs (Nigeria Oil Company) or Marginal Field Operators for jobs in oil servicing firms.

The oil and gas that is worth leaving Ur business are the IOCs(Mobil, shell, etc) then NOCs(Seplat etc) and maybe the MGOs (Energia, Midwestern etc). The rest are just service firm that does procurements and support services for the above categories.

80-100k is small money compared to the work she will be doing, she shouldn't even fall for the bait of "ull get a percentage from any job u bring in"... Its not as easy as every one thinks. So ur coz should rethink before jumping on the offer.

Nairaland General12 Things Truly Mature Men Don’t Do by oniisaac(op): 4:48pm On Jan 29, 2015
When men get to a certain age, they start to leave their old life behind in favour for one with fewer hangovers and more responsibilities. This all happens when men start to mature and in return for this maturity they begin to see life in a different way. Less stress and more results. Being more mature can help with moving up the career ladder or settling down with a beautiful woman. Read down our list to see if you have, like a good piece of steak, matured well.

1. They don’t see their partners as secondary to their friends.
It’s often said that men sometimes put their friends before their partner. There’s a whole culture surrounding men who want to “get away from the ball and chain” and have to ask permission to have a few pints. Mature men realize that their partner is a possible life companion so they deserve to be a priority. They aren’t ashamed to spend less time with “the lads” in favor of a quiet night in with their other half. Significant others are supposed to be best friends as well as lovers, so mature men begin to realize that and stop making them feel inadequate.

2. They don’t put off seeing their moms.
Many of us resent having to go and see the family because we’d rather watch Netflix all day. A mature man remembers that his family isn’t going to be there forever and that it’s important to spend time with those who cared for him when he was young. Not only does he understand the importance of seeing family, but he actually wants to do it because he’s gotten over seeing it as a chore.

3. They don’t try to please others.
Men always want to please their friends. They’ll go out when they can’t afford it because they don’t want to be “that guy”. When men get older and more mature, they know that it’s more important to please yourself first because in all honesty, no one will even notice that you’re not there. Mature men know when it’s a good time to socialize and when it’s best to save the pennies.

4. They don’t go out on a school night.
When we’re young we tend not to worry about the consequences of coming into work with a hangover or just not turning up at all. When men become more mature they remember that it’s their job that allows them to pay for all the fun things in life. It’s important to turn up to work with a clear head and to make sure they’re working to their best ability as this can lead to a promotion, which can’t be a bad thing! Mature men don’t forget to have fun, though; they just remember that’s what days off are for!

5. They don’t meet confrontation with anger.
Young men are often noted for their violent nature. Not all men, of course, but when men get angry, they often use violence to solve it. Mature men realize that violence and anger don’t solve problems. They realize that there are repercussions when they become angry and that it’s best to avoid these for the future. Words are way more effective.

6. They don’t run away from difficult situations.
When men are younger, they tend to see difficult situations as a reason to run away. The fight-or-flight instinct starts to flare up and more often than not, when things aren’t going well some men don’t stay and fight. When men have become more mature they realize that life isn’t always perfect and it’s important to deal with these situations, as they make us stronger. Mature men will fight head on and make sure that there are no leftover issues that could come up later in life.

7. They don’t shy away from their responsibilities.
Similarly, when men grow older, the amount of responsibilities they have increases. Men who are mature embrace these responsibilities and take ownership of them. Instead of pretending they don’t exist, a mature man will ensure that he is on top of everything he needs to do, knowing that he won’t be able to enjoy his leisure time without having done so.

8. They don’t live for the weekend.
We all enjoy having some time off from work but mature men know that wishing your life away is, well, just that, wishing it away. Instead, mature men like to enjoy everyday and fill up their weeks with not only things they have to do, but things they want to do.

9. They don’t have a big group of friends.
Young men always have that group of “lads” that they do everything with. When men start to mature, they begin to stay in on a Friday night, favoring a takeaway and a beer rather than a night on the lash. This usually means that some friends are lost and replaced with a few great friends that don’t rely on you to come out every Saturday night to sustain your friendship. It’s not bad to prefer a few close friends to a group of friends who can sometimes be unreliable.

10. They aren’t afraid to be weak in front of their partners.
Men are known for not being in touch with their emotions and this tends to drive women crazy. When a man has become more mature he isn’t afraid of being judged for showing his sensitive side because he knows that it’s more healthy to show his emotions than to suppress them. He also knows that showing weakness to his partner ensures that they grow closer to each other and end up sustaining a much longer and healthier relationship.

11. They don’t get scared by the possibility of starting their own family.
Not everyone wants to have children and start a family but men who have matured aren’t running for the rooftops when they hear about all their friends having children. In fact they actually get a little broody and coo when they see little baby booties. A man who wants children will be excited by the prospect of having a mini me running around his ankles. It’s important to never push a man (or anyone!) to do something he doesn’t want to do, but when he’s ready, you’ll know.

12. They don’t live in the moment.
When we’re young we’re taught to live for the moment and don’t worry about what tomorrow might bring. YOLO if you like, but when men begin to mature they realize that being reckless isn’t the best way to live. Of course it’s important to enjoy life and take every experience offered. But it’s not going to pay the bills. Mature men realize this and ensure that they take the future into consideration when they start to make plans.

Phones11 Ways To Make Your Smartphone Battery Last Longer by oniisaac(op): 1:23pm On Dec 30, 2013
1. Adjust the screen brightness. The default setting for your screen is probably brighter than it needs to be, and the display is the single largest consumer of battery power on your phone. Turn it down to the lowest level that still comfortable to see.

2. Sleep sooner. Your phone lets you specify how quickly to turn off the display and put the phone to sleep. You can extend the life of your phone significantly by ensuring the phone turns itself off quickly rather than staying on for several minutes every time you check the time.

3. Turn off notifications. Many apps enable display notifications. Most of the time, these are pointless and a waste of battery power since they force your screen to light up briefly many times throughout the day. Disable apps’ notifications to extend battery power.

4. Disable any antennas not in use. Never (or only rarely) use Bluetooth. Make sure it’s turned off in your settings. The same is true of Wi-Fi, though if you’re like most people, you probably use that quite a bit. If your battery is near death, though, and you need to keep it alive as long as possible, you can enter Airplane Mode (which turns off all the radios, including voice).

5. Minimize the gadgets your phone syncs with. The new pebble smart-watch is great, but it imposes a battery penalty on your phone to the tune of about 10 percent of battery life per day. There are also Bluetooth headsets, your car and other high-tech conveniences that consume power. If you want to maximize battery life, minimize the number of gadgets you connect to.

6. Say no to location requests. Many apps ask permission to detect your location so they can provide more targeted information. That might be useful, but every time an app has to ping your GPS chip, it uses power. Unless you really need that location function, just say no.

7. Sync less frequently. Most smartphones are designed to check for e-mail and apps data every 15 or 30 minutes. If you can live with less frequent updates, extend those minutes to a full hour. This will have a noticeable effect on battery life.

8. Lower the volume. Turn down your phone’s overall volume, including the ringer.

9. Turn off vibrate. You might need this feature — especially if you leave your phone in your pocket all the time — but making a mechanical vibrator jiggle takes a lot of juice. Turn it off for more runtime.

10. Keep it cool. A hot battery drains faster than a cool one — so if your phone is hot to the touch, it’s running inefficiently. That can happen when you leave it in your car, in your pocket or on top of another hot gadget, like a laptop. Running the phone continuously can also make it heat up.

11. Turn it off completely. If you know you won’t use your phone for a while — like in a meeting or at the movie theatre — shut it off rather than just quieting the ringer.

1 – The way to a man’s heart is no longer his stomach but the quality of your brain.

2 – If your man must be Tall, Dark and Handsome then be ready to be the 2nd best because what you desire, others’ seek too.

3 – If you allow your parents’ pressure push you into marriage, you may end up a single-mom.

4 – A man that slaps you before marriage will build a boxing ring after marriage. Guess who his opponent will be – YOU!

5 – If you are yet to know any member of his family after 6 – 12 months of courting him, then, is either he wants you as his baby-mama or a back-up plan.

6 – If what attracted him to you are your boobs and the sexy legs you flaunted, the contents of your brain had better keep him, else, there are too many well-rounded and bigger boobs waiting to snatch him away.

7 – Men love sex, at least 95% that I’m aware of. To him, if you can’t continue, don’t start! If you start, don’t stop! Be careful!

8 – If he doesn’t discuss future plans with you in the picture, he just want a fling.

9 – Even when you trust each other, a little jealousy reminds him that you care.

10 – Men love a listener. No matter how much you want your opinion to push through, listen to his details and don’t counter it.

11 – When you are already living with him before marriage, he won’t propose quickly.

12 – Don’t waste your years waiting for an unserious man to propose just because his parents loves you, you’re going to be married and living with the man, not his parents.

13 – When you seek his advice, you make him feel more of a man than he is.

14 – Your encouragement or concern about his career or job works faster than listening to a motivational tape.

15 - An engagement ring isn’t an assurance for marriage, it could possibly make you his regular sex-mate.

16 – Don’t endure domestic abuse in a marriage because of your kids and what people will say. If you die as a result, the man, the people and the kids will bid you dust-to-dust, he will marry another woman and she will take your place as the mother of your kids. It’s that simple!

PoliticsSenator Yerima Marries Another 15yr Old, Divorces 17 Year Old Egyptian Wife by oniisaac(op): 3:25pm On Dec 16, 2013
Former Zamfara state governor and serving senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, Sen. Ahmed Yerima, has reportedly divorced Marian, an Egyptian girl whom he married when she was 14 to marry a new wife.

According to reports, Sen.Yerima and four men, said to be members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly were in Egypt a few weeks ago for the wedding fathia of a new bride said to be 15 years old.

Marian who is now 17 and a mother of one, is believed to be the daughter of the former governor’s driver whenever he visits Egypt. The reason he divorced her is to enable him take a new wife as he’s not allowed more than four wives.

The Senator is alleged to have married and divorced a few women in the last few years but has never changed his first three wives, only the fourth ones.

Sen. Ahmed Yerima this year was strongly against the deletion of the section of the 1999 constitution which pegged the official marriage age in Nigeria as 18 year, saying it was anti-Islam.
