Career › Re: Quitting My Bank Job And Travelling To Canada For MSC, The Right Move ?? by onlysam01: 8:24am On Jul 03, 2017 |
Since you plan on going to Canada, just start the process of job application for a bank job over there, its pretty easy, since you already have more than the minimum experience required, it would pay you in the long run...just try and write a professional exam, depending on ur department in the bank...it's easy bro. Wish you the best. TD4real: Dear nairalanders, plz i need advice from experienced minds. I am 28 years old and have been workin in a Bank for three years ( i am fairly confortable ). But i have been under pressure by my dad to advance my studies abroad.
The issue here is that it feels i will be starting life all over again, after the MSC then what ? Come back ? Job search again?? I also have a girl friend i have been committed to and we both have been planning to settle down next yr.
I am so confused and i cant plan my future any longer. Some people have adviced that living abroad is always better than nigeria while others have said , if you are ok here why move.
Plz career experts and experinced ones should plz advice me putting into consideration my relationship commitments too. |
Career › Re: How Can I Get My Salary Increased by onlysam01: 9:47am On Apr 06, 2017 |
Hi, you can approach the HR if can, or better still send a mail quoting your achievement, deliverables and milestones you have achieved based on your KPI...it would be looked into I assure you...you would be shocked Some HRs do not have automated staff database... WiseYoungMan: Hello people, please i need advice. So i work in a corporate organization, i came in as a trainee, and it was stated on my letter that i will be confirmed after six months.
Now i noticed that my salary was far smaller than the salary of my fellow trainees, i complained to my department head, he promised to follow it up, but eventually started telling me to just be patient.
Now its up to six months and i haven't been confirmed, no one is saying anything. I met someone who said he has been working for over a year there and he hasn't been confirmed.
Its really annoying working and collecting half the pay of your colleagues. What can i do, do i approach the HR myself? Because the organization is fond of firing staff anyhow, so i'm a bit skeptical. |

ProvidusBank does 13.5% for 100k to 1M, 14% for 1M to 5M. For higher figures u can get a higher rate depending on ur negotiation with treasury... NB: d bank is one of the newly licenced commercial banks in Nigeria...they currently have about 5branches... You don't need to open an account to do FD... You can check their website for their closest address...or reply me for directions |

Politics › Re: 2016 Budget: Breakdown Of Sums Allocated To Presidency, Mdas, Others by onlysam01: 5:32pm On Dec 27, 2015 |
Themandator: Is there any difference between capital and infrastructure? And why is the presidency allocating a whooping 20 billion to itself in both capital and recurrent expenditures?
Over 400 billion has been handed to works without specifics.... They called it zero based budgeting... He will determine where and where gets his attention... Maybe, the time for 5 percent vote to come into play Note that not all infrastructural development are capital oriented. Hence the difference. abt the amount air marked for the presidency, well I am not justifying the amt though bt his travels, stipends, allowances and a host of others, it's constitutional to make provisions for those, just like other statutory transfers, bt d cost can be trimmed down. |

Budgets don't fail, it's either it runs at deficit, surplus or balanced, either ways the budget performed. The budget is clear enough for all to see, with these set of intellectuals I believe the budget will perform, forgetting the politics involved. This is a better budget than we have had initially, more is being channeled to infrastructural development, debt service as well as capital expenditure, these are all requisite for development. A little Faith won't kill u. ZoboKunu: Buhari's budget will fail!!! |

Nigerian Army be deceiving us anyhow, they have been killing and repelling, bt still d BH boys are increasing in number and increasing in attacks, they killed and captured their leaders yet they are super motivated. Nigerian army should better fight dis evil once and for all, or shut up for life...Osama bin Laden was brought down, his troops were silenced...Nigerian army should quit the falsehood if they are working we wud see it they would not need to tell us. |

The military keeps telling us they killed so many BH terorist they bombed their hideouts, they found weapons and other forms of explosives, they captured their leader, bt still we hear lots of bombing from dat same location... the president should move to investigate d military and d news they publish, cos the military cannot be killing BH bois excessively and they still get super motivated or even resurrect. I smell falsehood in the military. |

With all these happening, someone would decide to embezzel money meant for public welfare, and stash it in so many accounts outside d country, and wickedly buy so many structures they can't live in...so painful..if we are serious abt corruption all our politicians convicted of one crime of the other should pay dearly and serve time due to them. |

We always call for increased funding and all... even the little infrastructure we have ain't properly managed. The most annoying part is the sloppiness of some medical personnels... We need ppl committed to their call of duty. There was an accident involving a student Of d institution u work in, wat stops paramedics from d sch, from taking emergency response...? That doc needs to be sanctioned. RIP miss! bushdoc9919: Letters again
Another day....and another ''Let's blame the Nigerian doctor '' show
Before I write.....RIP to the lady.
1.The lass was knocked down by a car whilst being a passenger on a bike. Potential injuires include head injury, leg injury, and spinal injury. All of which can cause death in minutes.(Massive internal bleeding)
2.I wonder why she was not immediately taken to FMC. Mulitply injured patients are not just taken to some clinic. The FMC would have taken her without a referral letter.....and if they do not....then sme people have a lot to answer for.
3.Sorry to sound crass....but the way she was transported to the hospital could have contributed to her death.
In transporting patients injured in a car accident....you immobilise them first. In Nigeria.....where there is no suitable ambulance service...we just transport them anyhow. And if you do that....you might worsen the injuries....especially if there is a neck injury.
4.Conclusion....the girl did not die because of a delayed referral letter. She died because
a) No ambulance , and no paramedic staff to stabilise her.....and to transport her properly
b) Delay in getting her to a tertiary hospital.
5.Addendum.....referral letters are issued ONLY if the doctor gave the patient some treatment....and did some initial assessment ,,,so that the colleagues on the other side know about any past treatment....which helps in subsequent management of the patient. In this case....they did not need the referral letter at all really.
I know some of my colleagues are bad......but this Nigerian doctor bashing is getting too much. Better vote for and make your leaders improve funding and planning for healthcare in Nigeria too. |
