Politics › Re: Nigerians Express Outrage Over Recent Petrol Price Hike by onuman: 3:28pm On Mar 08 |
yinkus6750: The recent increase is base on high cost of crude in the international market due to the ongoing war in Iran, that is seriously affecting the Middle East. It obviously will affect Nigeria cos price of crude to Dangote refinery must be in tune with international market price. Same affects cost of importation. Still likely to go higher in the days ahead. Today's prices for crude oil were determined many years back. You people conveniently forget. What has Iran-USA war got to do with today's increase of Petroleum products in Nigeria? |
Politics › Re: Nigerians Express Outrage Over Recent Petrol Price Hike by onuman: 3:20pm On Mar 08 |
As the Naira appreciated heavily against the Dollar, cost of items, including made in Nigeria Petroleum products rise.
Is this not a Voodoo economy being handed by APC government? |

helinues: Being born into a poor family is not your fault, but remaining in the abject poverty for the rest of your life, you have no other person to blame than yourself
Society conformity is part of what is making some people to remain in same position financially.. You are not expected to do some certain things as that might question your morality at the same time they can't really help when you are in need of help as you might be seen as a lazy person
Religion also have it's dictating, rules limiting people's opportunity in being financially stable. A church that's operating 3 times in a week and choirs who are still young and vibrant are expected to be attending without being paid
Limiting beliefs also contribute part of it..There is this culture of people who failed at something discouraging others from making attempt. If you listen to them always, you might lose your potentials Most interesting part above is about the church which conducts services three times a week and the church's choiristers practicing, who knows how many times a week. There are many people I know in this church choir example who were born poor and ended up poor at old age |

The military isnt doing somethings right.
For instance, they complained of no air support. The soldiers could call for air support but some officer in charge of air support might be sympathetic to the objective of Boko Haram for a Nigeria to be governed with Sharia criminal justice system. Thus, the air support would not be authorised. Nigeria has been buying jet fighters, mostly during the Buhari administration. |

Don't make me laugh Laughable indeed. OBJ and GEJ had courage to inaugurate political restructuring conferences. Tinubu has no courage to inaugurate one. Guilty conscience, as you remembered that worse than these atrocities were committed by Nigeria against Biafra during the Nigeria versus Biafra civil war. Kemetian: So what's your solution?
Keep the high prices?
Then tomorrow you and Peter Obi will complain about "hunger in the land"?
And he will start calling Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Confused set of people.
Better call instead for more incentives or subsidies for farmers, to lower their production costs, NOT return Nigerians to high food prices in the name of 'protecting farmers'. You can't sacrifice the interests of the majority for one group. European and other saner countries subsidise their local farmers in order to keep farmers ontop, as well as stabilise cost of food. They don't go to import the same food produced by their local farmers. |
