Until Nwodo knows what Ideology can do, that's when he will start using his brain well. All these red cap men think they are doing us. They are even doing themselves. All hail Biafra!
TalkIslam: A spoken word response to those that are ashamed to be Muslim, constantly feeling the need to blend in and give up their faith so that they can finally be accepted.
We must be strong as Muslims as we have already achieved validation from Allah, there really is no need to sell our faith short.
May Allah give us strength, by no means are we saying this is easy, as without the help of Allah, we are all nothing.
Pope Francis marked the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Tuesday saying the "mestizo" Virgin is a concrete sign that the Church is for everyone, especially the poor and marginalized. Vatican City (CNA/EWTN News) - Noting how Juan Diego, when Mary first appeared to him, had said that he was no one and wasn't worthy, the Pope said this sentiment can often be felt today in Latin America's indigenous and Afro-American communities, "which, in many cases, are not treated with dignity and equality of conditions." This feeling of shame and unworthiness, he said, is also shared by many women "who are excluded because of their gender, race or socioeconomic situation," and by youth who "receive a low-quality education and don't have opportunities to progress in their studies nor enter the field of work in order to develop themselves and build a family." It is also the feeling of the many poor, unemployed, migrants, and displaced people "who try to survive in the informal economy," and is also the shame felt by young boys and girls who are subjected to child prostitution, which Francis noted is "often linked to sexual tourism." However, Mary, the Mother of God, is the image of the Church, he said, and from her we learn how to be a Church "with a 'mestizo' face, with an indigenous, African-American face, the face of a peasant," just like Our Lady of Guadalupe, he said. In her, we see the face of the poor, the unemployed, of the young, and the old, "so that nobody feels sterile or infertile, so that no one feels ashamed or that they are nothing." Pope Francis celebrated Mass in St. Peter's Basilica marking the Dec. 12 feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Veneration of Our Lady of Guadalupe dates back to the 16th century when a "Lady from Heaven" who identified herself as the Mother of the True God appeared to Saint Juan Diego, a poor Indian from Tepeyac, on a hill northwest of Mexico City. She instructed Juan Diego to have the bishop build a church on the site of the apparitions. As a sign, the now-famous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was imprinted miraculously on his tilma, or cloak. Both the image and the tilma remain intact after more than 470 years. Pope Francis centered his homily for the celebration around the Gospel reading from Luke, in which Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth shortly after the Annunciation. The Pope noted how when Mary arrives, one of the first thing Elizabeth says is "how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" Elizabeth, who had previously been marked by the sign of sterility, is now singing praise "under the sign of fertility and amazement," Francis said. He pointed to the two states of Elizabeth before and after her encounter with Mary: first her sterility and then her fertility and amazement. The religious mentality at the time viewed sterility "as a divine punishment" for a personal sin or the sin of one's spouse, he said, noting that it was "a sign of shame she carried in her own flesh because she considers herself guilty of a sin that she did not commit or because she felt like nothing since she was not able to live up to what was expected of her." This type of sterility, the Pope said, is one "that goes deep and ends up paralyzing all life," and which takes on "the many names and forms of every time a person feels in their flesh the shame of being stigmatized or feeling like nothing," much like Juan Diego. However, after meeting Mary, Elizabeth becomes fertile and filled with wonder, he said. She is the first one to recognize her cousin as the Mother of God, and she also experiences in her own flesh the fulfillment of God's word, because she now carries the "precursor to salvation." In Elizabeth, Francis said, we understand that "God's dream is neither sterility nor to stigmatize or shame his children," but is rather "to bring forth in them and from them a song of blessing." The same goes for Juan Diego, he said, noting that it was precisely he, and no one else, that carried the image of the Virgin in his tilma: "the Virgin of brown skin and a 'mestizo' face," he said, referring to the fact that she was of a mixed indigenous race. The term "mestizo" was used at the time to describe the children born to Spanish and Aztec parents. By appearing this way, Our Lady, he said, is a mother who is capable of taking on the various traits of her children "in order to make them feel part of her blessing." In thinking about the themes of sterility and fertility or fruitfulness, Francis said we can also relate these to the richness of the cultural diversity in Latin American and the Caribbean. This diversity, he said, is "a sign of the great richness that we are invited not only to cultivate, but, especially in our time, to courageously defend from all attempts to homogenize which end up imposing -- under attractive slogans -- a singular way of thinking, of being, of feeling, of living." read more>> http://www.catholic.org/news/hf/faith/story.php?id=76541
aigboeben: Please interpret Zechariah 1:17 for me. Did Jesus have a treasurer? Money is needed to finance the gospel. How can the church take the gospel round the world without finance?
Ezekiel is of the same opinion. He says: “Woe to the pastors who feed themselves instead of their flocks. Shouldn’t pastors feed the sheep? You eat the best food and wear the finest clothes, but you let your flocks starve.” (Ezekiel 34:2-3). Is this not directly applicable to many of today’s highfalutin pastors? Isaiah says: “They are as greedy as dogs, never satisfied; they are stupid pastors who only look after their own interest, each trying to get as much as he can for himself from every possible source.” (Isaiah 56:11). Does this not accurately describe today’s pastors who use all kinds of tricks and shenanigans to fleece the flock of their hard-earned money?
salam1: if dere is anything lyk 1 million lyks I would v given u, which1is Yoruba Christian again. Sg was making sence but at the end she flopped. Humanity first b4 religion
sight you man. Jesus said,"Love your enemy and pray for them."
lemme just drop this verse for you. “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” (Matthew 21:13). Now a simple question what gave birth to these scriptures above The kingdom of God has nothing to do with money a creation of man. something that would pass away and be no more. The issue of money has been a problem since the time of Isaiah, Jeremiah. Jesus, Paul, Peter etc
D1official: Definitely and obviously d end of all things has dawned on us,the prophecies of the scriptures is being fulfilled before our very eyes. To us the believers,we are glad because everyday draws us closer to our home, to the unbelievers we are crazy and to the non -yet believers the grace is still sufficient to you all.
It's no longer a news that a Daddy called "FREEZE" who has being known for his criticisms against "Tithing" has looked like a torn in the flesh of many by him asking for a new testament proof which validates tithing an old testament doctrine today. WONDERFUL!! But here are some great points and questions for "DADDY AND ALL HIS CREW" .
1. Has God ever used a non prophet or ordinary person as a voice against a fake prophet or to correct a prophet in both old and new testament?
It should be clear to each and every one of us, that God has Neva used an ordinary person to correct a false or real prophet of his, not in the old or even the new testament can such ever be found.
For example God used (young prophet Samuel - prophet Eli),(Samuel to correct and punish King Saul), (Prophet Nathan to correct king David), (Paul to rebuke bar Jesus)... Since God has never used someone like "DADDY FREEZE" before, who then is making use of him?
2.Who called daddy freeze into these teachings?
In point one, we have ascertained that the likes of "FREEZE" has never being used by God before in both old and new testament to correct the church.
It is also very interesting for us to note that, the work of God is not a white collar job that every intellectual can just be employed, just because he feels emotionally attached.
Every single soul that has worked for God to bring to pass a particular agenda has everly being on God's strict and clear calling.
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
It is obvious to us that DADDY wasn't called by God neither has he ever mentioned at any point or anywhere that he's being called by God. So who called him?
3. Was tithing condemned in d new testament?
Every one that has stood firmly with "FREEZE" has always being of the opinion that tithing is an old testament doctrine and no longer exists in the new testament. But actually non of them have being able to show us where tithing was abolished in the new testament by Jesus or the disciples.
And therefore since tithing was encouraged in the old testament and has a lot of similar backings in the new testament, why shouldn't we continue with it ,why scrap it out when JESUS nor any of his disciples didn't condemned it?
4. Has God ever divided his own church?.
Has God ever allowed the church to be publicly disgraced before, even at the expense of fake prophets?.NO!!. God has never done that in the scriptures. In fact Jesus in (Matt 13:36-43) made reference to the parable of the wheat and tares.
Jesus made it clear that the tares should be left untouched. why?. Because he clearly doesn't want to divide his church. So who is dividing US?
5.what is actually d agenda and mission of "DADDY FREEZE".
The main agenda of "FREEZE" is nothing other than to destroy the economic sufficiency of the church just to hinder it's growth.
By claiming that all tithing which has being going to churches, should all be redirected into charity. The question now is, will God ever cut the flow of resources to his body?. We must note that the church is the people but the people can never be the church. " GATE OF HELL SHALL NEVA PREVAIL AGAINST D CHURCH". BRETHREN let's be wiser than the devil.
lemme just drop this verse for you. “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” (Matthew 21:13). OkCornel: Some are called by their bellies... Some do not even wait for God to call (anoint) them...they rather call God sef
whenever i hear pastors saying,"anybody with you destiny will die." and i will ask who is with their church member destiny? A lot of so-called men of God have forgotten the line of the Bible which says,"Love your enemies and pray for them."
Those that have been screaming and defending tithes up and down don't even know the scriptural meaning of tithing.
1) Tithing is a form of giving which God mandated the Israelites alone to do BUT
2) Sacrificial giving out of a loving and cheerful heart in line with the direction of the Holy Spirit is the best way to give...and it applies to all human races under heaven either in the past, present or future.
If I look at these options...I'd go for the second one without thinking twice.
OkCornel: No one is against giving to the Church for the expansion of God's kingdom. What I am against is mixing the TRUTH with lies to scam people into parting with 10% of their monetary income as tithe whereas, God gave instructions to Moses that 10% of Harvested crops and livestock is the tithe...NOT MONEY (SILVER & GOLD)
and the most truthful part of it is that Tithe is for the Jews and not Christians
Adaowerri111: And they think we don't deserve Biafra, Igbos are special beings
say no to tribalism. Am an igbo too but it doesn't justify you to start saying the our tribe is a special being. BIAFRA WILL COME THE DAY GOD WANTS IT.
Cyynthialove: I thought we yorubas love ourselves to the extent that we don't experience internal crisis, why this rivers of blood ? We are quick to jump into other people's affairs accusing them for hating each other why our house is on fire. If you go to Osun state, Ife don't marry Modakeke and vice versa Heads are rolling just because of ordinary local kingship. Smh.
If we can't solve our differences amicably, then what's the essence of claiming to be sophisticated and accommodating? We can't even accommodate ourselves let alone others. Spits !!
Lesson: Every tribe has internal crisis, but they always come together to fight their common enemies.
My name is Cyynthialove, I am a Yoruba Christian, I will keep saying the truth for the sake of my soul, even when such truth will hurt me and my people.
I like what you just said but my sister, say no to nepotism! We are all created by God.
Terminator1234g: As the first to comment let me first thank God and then my parents for bringing me up to always be the first in everything. And i want to thank seun for creating nairaland and Buhari for being a good president. Furthermore let us stop fighting on nairaland so that our children won't also discriminate bcus of tribe or religion. Good day!
