Joseph Adeoye, 22, dressed in black suit, was recently arrested in Ikeja, at the commissioning of a shopping mall. He had stolen the mobile phone of a shopper from her handbag, when he was spotted and arrested.

A very young Nigerian pastor and General Overseer at Favour of Anointing Ministries has taken to social media to flaunt his blessings.
Port-Harcourt-based Prophet Ibe Victory, from Owerri, Imo state, acquired a new car and decided to “share his testimony” online.

A judge in the Kaduna State High Court, Justice Bashir Sukola, has passed away and has already been laid to eternal rest according to Muslim tradition.


The Bench in Kaduna State, on Wednesday, was thrown into mourning with the passage of one of its own, Justice Bashir Sukola of the state’s High Court.

Justice Sukola died on Tuesday evening and was buried on Wednesday morning according to Islamic injunction.

Some 300 Level students of the Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State who reportedly engaged some Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) students in a fight have been thrown out of the hostel, according to reports.

It was gathered that trouble started last night, after an IJMB student accused a 300 Level student of splashing water on her while having her bath. The victim later went to mobilize her friends and there was a shouting match, with the 300 Level students being called prostitutes.



The matter degenerated into a fight following a slap from an IJMB student. When the matter was reported to the hostel porter, the 300 Level students were indicted and later thrown out of the hostel by the supervisor.

After calling out the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, twice in ten months, I gave up. The governor has the whole of Imo as his duchy and he will do what he will do. So, what’s the point?

If I’m now constrained to cry more than the bereaved people of Imo, it’s simply because their worsening misery is killing me. For two weeks, Okorocha held the state hostage to mark his 55th birthday anniversary. School children, whose parents are still being owed salaries of up to three months, were lined in the streets of Owerri to salute the governor.

As for pensioners whose long arrears are being paid in dreadful bits, they watched Okorocha’s parade from the discomfort of their homes as their August/September cheques bounced again. Mothers whose stalls in Ekeukwu market had been demolished by the state government in defiance of a court order and the parents of Somtochukwu who lost the 10-year-old boy during the violent eviction were expected to send glowing tributes to Okorocha at 55.

Nigerian Soldier Who Ran Away from the Army Because Of Boko Haram Arrested For Snatching Car (Photo)
Thirty-four-year-old Lance Corporal Abubakar Isiaka who deserted the army because he was listed among the soldiers to fight Boko Haram in Sambisa forest as he was afraid of his life has landed in trouble.

According to a report by NewTelegraph, Isiaka who abandoned his duty post and kissed goodbye to the Nigerian Army as he didn't want to lose his life fighting the terrorists was recently caught after he allegedly snatched a car belonging to another man.

Attempting to explain why he deserted the army, Isiaka said that he was tired of watching his friends and colleagues die at the war front, in the hands of Boko Haram men.

He said: “I was not officially dismissed from the Army. I decided not to go to work anymore when I was posted to Sambisa Forest to tackle the Boko Haram sect. I was among Nigerian soldiers that went to the Sudan Peace Keeping Mission. It was upon my return to Nigeria that our commandant noticed that I was still agile and gallant.

He then sent me and some of my friends to Sambisa Forest. I lost most of my friend in that battle. I then decided to leave the battle; I didn’t return to the army base since then.”

After walking away, Isiaka didn’t return property of the army. One of the items he went away with was his uniform. He started using the uniform to commit crime. He was eventually arrested along with his partner, an ex-convict, identified as Saheed Akangbe, 24.

Isiaka and his partner in crime were presented to journalists by the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude. They were both arrested for allegedly snatching a Toyota Camry car. Odude said that both men specialized in snatching different kinds of cars from unsuspecting owners.

One of the cars allegedly recovered from them is a Toyota Camry car, marked KJA 89 ER. They were arrested in Ibadan, on October 22, around 11:20pm, at Iyana-Offa, Lagelu area of Ibadan. The duo allegedly confessed to series of car snatching operations in Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, and other neighbouring states.

Asked what he had been doing since he walked out on the Nigerian Army, Isiaka said: “I usually lead my friends with my army uniform to find buyers for our stolen cars. I was always well settled. It was my friend, Ismail Adeosun, who is still in Abeokuta Prison that asked us to bring that Toyota Camry car to Ibadan for sale. It was unfortunate that when we got to Ibadan later in the day, we couldn’t get the buyer before we were arrested.”

Recollecting how they were arrested, Akangbe, said: “We were asked to come to Ibadan with the stolen car to deliver to a buyer; but on getting to Ibadan, we couldn’t locate the person that our friend asked us to call. It was late in the night; we decided to sleep inside the car till the following morning, unfortunately, while we were sleeping, a night guard walked over and asked us to come down from the vehicle. On sighting my partner with army uniform, he apologised and went away. He later returned with policemen.”

A grieving husband allegedly caught a male nurse having sex with his wife’s corpse as he visited her one last time in the hospital.

According to Mirror.co.uk, the grief-stricken husband gave the nurse a beating of his life before handing him over to the Police in Bolivian capital La Paz.

The 27-year-old nurse who was later identified as Grover Macuchapi, 27 is currently facing prosecution on charges of profaning a corpse and obscene acts.

The police chief, Douglas Uzquiano, said the incident happened around an hour after the patient died at Hospital de Clinicas in La Paz on Monday and was transferred to a hospital morgue.

He said, “Relatives of the dead woman had gone to the hospital to cancel a debt they had for the medical treatment she received.

“The husband went to the morgue and saw a male nurse having sex with his late wife.”

The unnamed husband told a local newspaper: “I saw what he was doing and hit him. He was moving and he had his trousers down.”

The hospital worker blamed his actions on a trance.

He was quoted as saying: “Something happened. It was like a dream. The next thing I remember was feeling a blow from behind when the woman’s husband hit me.”

The unnamed female patient, a 28-year-old, had only died around an hour before she was targeted.

Prosecutors said Macuchapi could not be charged with necrophilia because the offence didn’t exist under Peruvian law.

The Lagos State Government has amended the charges it filed against Evans and the five others.

The Director of Public Prosecution, DPP Lagos State, Titilayo Shitta-Bey told Justice Hakeem Oshodi that the amendment relates only to the punishment section for the second charge.

The Akwa Ibom State police has arrested a man, Mr. Sunday Akpan of Eda Street, Uyo, for killing his wife, Mrs. Martha Akpan. He was also said to have dumped her remains in a rubbish dump.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, investigation revealed that the incident occurred on October 11. He explained that Akpan had a misunderstanding with his wife, which led to a fight on the day.

Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), is in the spotlight in a US court after his group, one of Nigeria’s foremost Pentecostal churches, dragged some former pastors and members to court over monetary and property disputes.

The sued pastor and former church members have in turn accused the General Overseer of engaging in fraudulent activities in the US, including evasion of duties owed to US authorities.

In an action filed in the Circuit Court for Prince Georges’ County of Maryland, U.S.A., (Case No. CAL16-26532) on behalf of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries International, Lagos, and Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, USA, Nevada, the church is seeking declaratory judgment and damages against Pastors Lawrence Adetunji, Ronke Adetunji, and 11 former members of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Bowie, Maryland. Also joined in the suit is Christ the Truth Ministry, the successor of MFM Bowie.

At issue are real property described as 5506 and 5503 Church Road in Bowie, Maryland, which were acquired by MFM Bowie in 2001 and 2004 respectively. Also in contention are funds for the MFM building in Bowie. MFM International (Lagos) claims that the property acquired with the contributions and offerings of the members of MFM in Bowie, without assistance of any form from Mr. Olukoya or MFM headquarters, are property of MFM headquarters by way of trust. The plaintiffs claim further that when Pastor Adetunji and most members of MFM in Bowie decided not to associate further with the denomination, Pastor Adetunji was under an obligation to hand over the properties and funds to MFM headquarters (copy of MFM Complaints attached).

In their response, the defendants allege that they decided to sever their relationship with MFM and its leadership because of the illegal and fraudulent activities of MFM International, Lagos. They allege that MFM International was in the practice of knowingly and deliberately making false claims to evade U.S. Customs duties and taxes on books exported from Nigeria to U.S.

Upon information and belief, the defendants alleged that the plaintiffs had willfully and intentionally evaded U.S. Customs Service duties and had evaded tax payments to the United States Government. They allege that the plaintiffs carried out these illegal activities for many years.

The nature of the illegal activities stems from the fact that the plaintiffs would ship prayer books (specifically, “70 Days Prayer & Fasting” and “Pray Your Way Into [current year]” to various U.S.-based MFM branches with a cover letter categorizing the books as “donations” to be distributed to local parishioners. However, once delivered to the United States, instructions were then emailed to U.S. pastors by MFM International and /or MFM USA instructing them of the price they must charge parishioners in selling these books. The pastors were then instructed to remit the earnings of their sales to MFM International.

The defendants disclosed that, although this practice had been going on for many years, on or about 2013, MFM International started shipping their books directly to U.S. Customs in Baltimore, along with the cover letter stating that the books were “donations” (page 2-3 of the Defendants’ Amended Answer and Counter Claim).

Amidst increasing concerns over the level insecurity in the Edo State, a senior staff of the University of Benin, Edo State, Prof. Paul Otasowie, has been killed by gunmen.

It was learnt Otasowie was shot dead by the armed men in front of his residence on Ekehuan road in Oredo Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday evening.
There was, however, speculation that the professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was either assassinated or gunned down by suspected armed robbers.

According to another version of the incident, the deceased, who was a former director of the university’s Industrial Training and Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme, was allegedly shot during an attempted kidnap.

It was gathered that the news of his death left the university community in a state of mourning.

The Lagos State police command has arrested two Uber drivers who specialised in robbing women of their valuables at gunpoint.

The drivers, Fosta Rufus , 30 and Franklin Jogbodo, according to the Special Anti Robbery
squad boss, Mohammed Sanusi , picked up their targets around Lekki, Ajah and Victoria Island areas of Lagos.

This is the second of such arrest of Uber drivers in Lagos. It was gathered that the
suspects were accused of robbing their victims of valuables such as jewelry, expensive phones. cash and their victims are mainly ladies who go out at night.

Lagos State police boss, Imohimi Edgal, who paraded the suspects at the Command
Headquarters, Ikeja, said the suspects sometimes would follow their victims to an
ATM machine from where they would force them to withdraw cash at gunpoint.

He added that the suspects have admitted participating in three different robbery operations in the past. “ On one occasion the suspects collected the sum of N86 ,000 from
their victim using her Access Bank ATM. They have both confessed to the crime . ”

He said that a KIA Rio with registration number BDG 376 EP used in perpetrating the crime and other valuables, which including Samsung Galaxy 7 edge plus and iPhone 6 plus, allegedly collected from their victims identified as Nancy Nzuegbo and Eze Chinonso, were recovered from the suspects.

The Lagos police boss said he has directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to maintain police visibility in major roads and neighbourhood across the
metropolis.

“ I have also directed them to carry out constant raids of back spots. We hope to sustain the current low crime rate in the state ” he said.

In his confessional statement , Franklin denied robbing anybody , saying it was his friend ,
Fosta who dragged him into the problem. He said he was the one who introduced Fosta into
the Uber cab business.

According to him “ I et Fosta while working with UBA as a driver . I met him again

According to multiple reports, a young boy stabbed his mum to death this morning in Edo state with a bottle because she cared about him starving himself.

From what could be understood, The boy had not eaten for days, so this morning his concerned mother asked him what he wanted to eat, what he preferred, he reportedly said he wanted a Pepsi drink…The mother happily went and bought Pepsi, only to return and get stabbed by it minutes later.

Wanted Boko Haram suspect, Idris Ibrahim Babawo, has been apprehended in Ondo state, Sahara Reporters learned on Tuesday.


Ibrahim, aged 42, was apprehended at Isua Akoko in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo state by some local vigilante group.

The wanted Boko Haram suspect nicknamed "Idoko" is on believed to be number 156 on the lists of terrorists declared wanted by the Nigerian army.

SaharaReporters learned that the suspected Boko Haram member was traveling from Bauchi state to Ibafo in Ogun state when he was nabbed in Ondo state.

Akinwunmi Gideon, the Ondo state Commandant of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) who confirmed the arrest to our correspondent in Akure, said the suspect was traveling through Ondo state in the white bus when he was apprehended.

Mr. Gideon said the wanted Boko Haram suspect was arrested by local residents in Isua Akoko after causing a scare and later handed over to the members of the vigilante group in the area.

"After his arrest, the people handed him (suspect) over to our local commander, Mr. Eyinju Daniel in Isua Akoko," he said.

He added that the action of the suspect who was journeying from Bauchi State but decided to stop over in Ondo state made the people raised suspicion and alarm.

According to him, the vigilante group in the state immediately handed over the suspect to the Ondo State Police Command to avoid being lynched by angry residents.

Femi Joseph, spokesman of the Ondo Police command confirmed the arrest to SaharaReporters in a phone chat.

Mr. Joseph revealed that the suspect who was fleeing Bauchi state and had to stop in Isua Akoko due to a mechanical fault that developed in a vehicle he was traveling with.

He explained that police decided to hand over the suspect to the 32 Brigade Artillery of the Nigeria Army in Akure for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Army confirmed the arrest of the wanted Boko Haram suspect in a statement issued by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman.

Soyinka Warns Nigerian Army Against Attack On IPOB Members, Says Viral Torture Video Could Be A Propaganda

Professor Wole Soyinka has called on FG to urgently investigate allegations of maltreatment of Biafra supporters in the Eastern part of the country by the military with the aim of punishing those found culpable.

Soyinka spoke yesterday in Ibadan, Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria at the Christopher Okigbo Conference, with the theme: “Legacy of Christopher Okigbo-50 years”. The event was put together to mark the golden jubilee of the passage of Okigbo.

He said:

“There is a video clip going viral showing allegedly the dehumanisation of Biafran supporters in the East. It shows some civilians being made to run a gantlet of whips and then being made to crawl, being lined up in a pond of mud… I do not say this video is genuine. It could be IPOB propaganda, it is possible but I am saying to the military that you can’t afford to stay silent when that kind of documented allegation is making the round of the world.

“The image of the military very often is the image of the nation. I want the military and the government to examine this video and the source and let the nation know whether the soldiers that participated in it have been identified and have been punished or prove to the nation that this is pure propaganda video. Such thing has been done before. It happened in Baga in the North, and that is the mission as my message on behalf of Christopher Okigbo to the military and to the government. We want an answer”.

The Nobel laureate regretted that the situation that propelled Okigbo to join the Biafra army and fight for freedom till he died was still very present in the country.


“I am looking at history repeating itself. We are celebrating Christopher who was a poetic embodiment of that movement at that particular time and who put his life on the line for a conviction that sent him out. When we were still thinking of meeting him here for a literary conference, meeting him there for a conference, Chris was already committed. And when the moment came, it was not enough that he smuggled in arms, he went in, joined the others and took up arms for his conviction. I am looking at this young people on the street behind the banner, organising, once again, reaching that stage when they also are preparing to put their lives on the line.

It seems like the Indigenous People of Biafra are at it again after allegedly holding a rally on the 20th of September, 2017. According to a Somto Okonkwo who posted a video of the rally yesterday, the procession took place in Aba, Abia state.

Okonkwo wrote: "IPOB as we know it, fearless, formidable and ready to die for Biafra at one command. Yesterday in Aba we dared Okezie Ikpeazu to invite his army to come and kill us. People don't know what IPOB means nor represents. On the 18th of November we prove to mankind that Anambra State is the first son of Biafra."

The Federal Government through the Attorney General of the Federation yesterday got a court order proscribing the group.
