Samsung's co-CEO Han Jong-hee has sadly passed away aged 63 on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Han became the electronic giant's chief executive officer in 2022, having previously been appointed vice chairman of the company and led the Device Experience division which oversees TV, home appliances, and smartphones, as reported by Bloomberg.

Having been at the company for nearly four decades, Han originally began in Samsung's displays division before working his way up through the ranks to eventually reach his current role as co-CEO with Jun Young-hyun.

Samsung is currently yet to decide on a successor to Han's role, and therefore Jun remains in sole charge of the company for the time being, despite only being appointed as co-CEO alongside Han last week at the annual shareholders meeting.

He passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest and is survived by his wife and three children.

Many believe that Han played a key role in catapulting Samsung into the global technology giant it is today, overtaking key rivals such as Sony in his ascent up the company.

It is currently the 41st most valuable public company in the world with a market cap of $261.52 billion, although the value has more than halved since a peak in January 2021, when Samsung was valued at $553 billion.

Award-winning Belgian actress Émilie Dequenne has died from cancer at the age of 43.

Dequenne shot to fame when she won the best actress award at the Cannes Film Festival at the age of 18 for the film Rosetta in 1999.

She won another Cannes award for À Perdre la Raison (Our Children) in 2012, and received a Cesar, one of France's top film honours, for Les Choses Qu'on Dit, les Choses Qu'on Fait (The Things We Say, the Things We Do) in 2021.

She mainly acted in French-language films but also appeared as police officer Laurence Relaud in 2014 BBC TV drama The Missing.

Rosetta, a poignant tale about a teenager's struggle to overcome a life of misery, was Dequenne's first screen role.

She had been unemployed after losing her job in a food factory when she was picked for the role.

According to a report from TMZ, the influencer, whose legal name is Philip Enewally, was found dead on Friday, March 14 in a mailroom in Los Angeles County.

Enewally's cause of death is not yet known, the outlet reported. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office did not immediately respond to request for further information.

TMZ also reported that Enewally's mother confirmed the news, and asked that fans respect his family's privacy in the wake of his death.

Enewally has been making social media videos for nearly 10 years, and amassed nearly 4 million YouTube subscribers in that time. He was known for his gaming videos, in which he played video games including NBA 2K and Fortnite, as well as vlogs, pranks and more.

Universally lauded for his acting skill, Hackman's everyman quality enabled him to embody a broad range of characters in multiple genres -- from the preening, comical villain Lex Luthor opposite Christopher Reeve in 1978's "Superman," to a disgraced high school basketball coach looking for redemption in the 1986 drama "Hoosiers," to an ultra-conservative senator forced to dress in drag to escape the paparazzi in the 1996 Robin Williams comedy "The Birdcage."

Alleged N1.3bn Fraud: EFCC arraigns P-Square’s former Manager, Jude Okoye

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) has arraigned Jude Okoye Chigozie, elder brother and ex-manager of Paul and Peter Okoye of the defunct music group, P-Square, before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.

He was arraigned on Wednesday, February 26, alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, on a seven-count charge of allegedly laundering N1.38billion, $1million and £34,537.59.

He pleaded “not guilty” to the charges.

In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel, Larry Peters Aso, applied for a date for hearing as well as the defendant’s remand in a correctional facility pending trial. However, Jude Okoye’s counsel, Inibehe Effiong, informed the court of a bail application and asked for a short date to enable its hearing. He also requested that the defendant be remanded in the EFCC custody pending the hearing of the application.

The prosecution counsel objected to Jude Okoye’s remand in the EFCC custody. He argued that the EFCC custody was already congested with suspects awaiting arraignment. He urged the court to remand the defendant in the correctional facility since he had taken his plea.

Justice Owoeye then adjourned the matter till February 28, 2025 for bail hearing and April 14, 2025 for trial, and ordered Jude be remanded in the Ikoyi correctional facility.

Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit successfully covered its $1.46 billion loss from a recent hacker attack through a combination of loans, whale deposits, and Ethereum (ETH) purchases, according to blockchain data from Lookonchain.

In an X post on February 24, Lookonchain revealed that Bybit received 157,660 ETH (approximately $437.8 million) from one address, likely through over-the-counter buying.

Another 109,033 ETH ($304.1 million) came from an entity that bought ETH from both centralized and decentralized exchanges.

Whales and institutions contributed over $127 million in ETH as loans, with crypto exchange Bitget providing 40,000 ETH ($106 million) and MEXC contributing 12,653 stETH ($33.9 million).

Another address, possibly an over-the-counter buyer, sent 22,609 ETH ($61.9 million).

An unknown entity transferred 20,000 ETH ($53.7 million), while Mirana Ventures sent 10,000 ETH ($28 million), and another address, possibly linked to Fenbushi Capital, sent the same amount. Smaller contributions came from users associated with “@yuchao” (2,499 ETH) and DWF Labs (2,200 ETH).

Disgraced hip hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was recently dealt another blow in his sex trafficking and racketeering case set to begin trial this May. Deadline reports one of the lawyers on the Bad Boy Records founder’s defense team has requested he be allowed to step down.

Anthony Ricco to Judge Arun Subramanian reportedly doesn’t believe he stands a chance at helping Diddy. “It’s become a real sh*tshow, they’re desperate to not go to trial,” a well-positioned attorney told the outlet of the Marc Agnifilo, and Teny Geragos-led Combs criminal trial defense. “Look at the filings, they’re throwing everything at the wall and praying something sticks.”

Ricco’s request for “withdrawal” from Diddy’s case is reportedly due to the unorthodox way the case is being conducted due to what the lawyer cites as “protections afforded by the attorney/client privilege.”

In his filing for his exit, he says he does so “respectfully but regrettably,” adding, “Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs, consistent with the ABA Standards for Criminal Justice.”

As honored as SAG Award winners must feel to take home their prizes, the ceremony may be even more important as a bellwether of things to come. Actors happen to make up the largest voting branch in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which means that as SAG goes, so might the Oscars.

And that, in turn, means that the 2025 SAG Awards may just have initiated a vibe shift in two of this year’s least predictable categories: best picture and best actor.

Though Wicked was the most nominated film at the SAG Awards this year, that musical wound up going home empty-handed when the SAGs were handed out in Los Angeles Sunday night. Instead, the evening ended with a surprise winner for best ensemble in a motion picture:

Voletta Wallace, mother to rap icon The Notorious B.I.G., is dead at 78. Billboard confirmed Wallace’s death with Monroe County Coroner’s Office in Pennsylvania on Friday (Feb. 21).

“Voletta has died, on hospice care, at her residence in Stroudsburg, Penn.,” Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac tells Billboard. “Voletta died of natural causes.”

TMZ was the first to report that Wallace had passed away.

A Jamaican immigrant, Wallace gave birth to The Notorious B.I.G. (born Christopher Wallace) on May 21, 1972, in Brooklyn, where she worked as a preschool teacher and raised Biggie as a single mother.

He went on to reach superstar status in a short time as a rapper while signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, where he released a pair of albums, Ready to Die and Life After Death, the latter of which debuted atop the Billboard 200 and arrived just weeks after he was gunned down in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997, at just 24 years old.

Much of the the Brooklyn rap icon’s catalog is etched in rap lore as one of the pillars of East Coast hip-hop during the ’90s “golden era,” including hits such as “Juicy,” “Hypnotize,” “Ten Crack Commandments,” “Going Back to Cali,” “Mo Money Mo Problems” and many more.

Argentine President Javier Milei has denied promoting a newly launched cryptocurrency which collapsed shortly after he mentioned it in a social media post on Friday.

The cryptocoin $Libra quickly rose in value before nosediving, causing severe losses for the majority of people who had invested in it.

A judge will now determine if the president should face fraud charges over the incident.

On Monday, Milei said he had acted "in good faith" and dismissed investors' complaints, comparing their actions to people who gamble: "If you go to a casino and lose money, what's there to complain about when you knew the risks?"




President Milei spoke about the $Libra incident in an interview with Argentine TV channel Todo Noticias on Monday, after a weekend during which he had stayed unusually quiet on social media.

He insisted that his post on X, which contained a link to a site selling $Libra, did not constitute an endorsement.

"I didn't promote it, I merely shared it," he told Todo Noticias' Jonny Viale.

Milei's post, which he deleted after just a few hours, drew heavy criticism not just from his political rivals in Argentina but also from those who had invested in the cryptocurrency.

Some have argued the $Libra launch resembled a "rug pull" - where promoters draw in buyers, only to stop trading activity and make off with the money raised from sales.
