INSTRUCTIONS ARE REGIMENTED LIKE THE MILITARY SET UP. WORST IS YOUR SALARY COULD BE DELAYED TILL ANOTHER MONTH. I GREW FRUSTRATED AND DECIDE TO FAST AND PRAY WHY I WOULD BE ENSLAVED LIKE THIS. I BECAME A BURDEN TO MY DESIRES. UNTIL I MADE UP MY MIND TO RESIGN MONTH END. JUST AS FATE WILL HAVE IT, THE BOSS INTEND TO TRANSFER ME TO ANOTHER LOCATION WITHOUT TRANSPORT FARE CONSIDERATION. Good day all, it irritates me to read uninformed comments. FYI I applied for an NNPC job offer in 2010 & I currently work for the company. Before that, I knew no one in the company & my parents are average. Case in point; don't be discouraged. I remember the day we wrote the aptitude test in Lagos, people came in all manner of brand new cars, someone even boasted that his uncle was the GGM....blah.blah, his name was already on an offer letter etc. (Honestly I was almost discouraged), we became acquaintances, today he imports phones & laptops from china b/c he didn't get the job. Forget that i am a staff, truth is NNPC is quite open in recruitment exercises. Secondly, it is human nature to help friends & relations. If you have an intelligent cousin, with a good result like first class/second class honours (upper division), whom you can vouch for, & you are in a position to help him/her secure a job that he/she most likely deserve, wont you help? Everyone should believe they will make it. Most of you probably deserves it, but not all can get it. Real Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona, Chelsea, Dortmund, Juventus, Athletico, Porto, Man city & PSG can all win the champions league this year, but only one will actually win it, it doesn't mean the others don't deserve it or that the eventual winners uncle is Platini.

Well-said OAM4J. I have the same opinion more or less. You and others know I supported Ribadu passionately in 2011 yet was always, even back then, approving of a merger than would see Ribadu step down for Buhari. Unfortunately that did not come to pass and Buhari contested under the newly formed CPC.

Every Nigerian will know that what Buhari achieved, i.e 12 million votes, was commendable given the reality of the day. The CPC was a brand new Party with minimal influence at the time. Buhari was underfunded and under-supported by many of our influential politicians whereas today the likes of Saraki, Amaechi, Aregbesola, Fashola and many, many, many more will be behind him and working passionately for his win if he becomes the APC candidate. He will also be the candidate of the biggest opposition Party in Nigeria which is an entirely different kettle of fish in relation to the past where the ACN and CPC split votes competing against Jonathan. Now it will boil down to Nigerians choosing between GEJ or Buhari. Imperfect Buhari may be but not many doubt his ability to fight corruption. Not many can accuse Buhari of crass materialism. No one can claim he covets private jets, 1 billion Naria food. No one can ever postulate that Buhari will profligately take huge entourages of politicians across the world on meaningless Jamborees at the expense of Nigeria. What Nigeria needs now is what Buhari has in abundance.

The SW was apathetic in 2011 and the few who showed up voted for GEJ in the majority because of the belief he represented "transformation" and a departure from the past. We all know this is not the case today. Without mincing words, it is now crystal clear GEJ is possibly the most corruption-friendly President Nigeria has ever had. Haven seen the worst of GEJ, I can easily see a lot of Yorubas overcoming their bias against Buhari to vote for him because they now know it is unthinkable to give GEJ another 4 years with which he will use to destroy Nigeria further. The time is right for Buhari and events have converged correctly to mean his chances of landslide victory has never been this bright if everyone play their part.

Electing Buhari would be retrogressive, even with all of GEJ's failings I would not support an ageing man whose only claim to credibility is 'integrity' from way back in the early-mid 80's when probably half the Nigerians alive right now were not even born.

I don't really doubt his integrity, but clearly we need far more than just integrity at this moment. Buhari's utterances on violence in the North are not exactly palatable (albeit blown out of proportion by the PDP). Nonetheless he is not a suitable candidate - he is from a different era and should be mentoring younger candidates.

I think we can do much, much, better.
