So the heat in Nigeria is cooler than the heat in America abi? ![]() See ba, there is levels to this heat |
Reflect7:Errrrrm... your post was doing well, but the highlighted is where I am picking a bone. When you say; 1. "Trains Break down" 2. "Everyday" 3. "All over the world" you lump 3 statements with varying contexts into one complex assumption that effectively undermines/diminishes, best practices and standards in the global railway sector. Why? 1. Yes! Trains break down but in technical terms you need to be specific because not all Train break downs are equal in category. 2. Everyday ? Now that depends on the category of no.1 3. Globally?? Taking the above 1 and 2 into account... errrm no sir that's incorrect. Bottom line, such a bold assumption that opposes global standards and best practices need facts to support the notion. Because indeed it's not a normal occurrence for a long distance train to stop midtrack(without a functional multiple coach engine push/pull configurations, or nearby rescue locomotive) as it simply depicts faulty or failed safety, maintenance and technical protocols. Sorry I quoted you, but I just couldn't ignore your stark generalised accusation that happens to be somewhat in my feild. If this happened in some parts of the world as you put it e.g some countries in Europe, to the extent that passengers walked via train paths some people would be jobless for a loooong time.So in essence yes! Trains break down every day but it depends on the break down category... and in some parts of the world, commuters stepping down to walk in train track zones (danger) because a train broke down without a fail safe is absolutely not Normal in any way. We need to actually accept some clear definitions of what is normal and not normal before progress can be made in developing frameworks of operations. |
Fiscus105:The chief bottlers of the Premier league will once again bottle the chance to sign Don't be surprised Arsenal ends up making a bid for Darwin Nunes or Nicholas Jackson. |
Naaah... this gotta be photo shopped. |
This is very old news |
spiSeyi:That's the point! Exactly the point! The Yuan is on point to be revalued higher than it is, basically it may have parity with the USD or Euro and that significantly changes things... |
At this rate The Chinese Yuan will be forced to be revalued ... |
Yes! I am a reference 1.Birth 2. Naturalisation 3. Marriage |
Nonybb:To be honest what has happened is a simple thing, the global supply chain/economy has just been reset. And major world powers are upset because as it stands now, there will be winners and there will be losers of which won't follow the previous order of top dogs in the yard. Funny enough this is Africa's time. |
ajailer:Your reasoning about China is the reason Trump set the tarriffs... Keeping my explanation short; China's currency is falsely undervalued so as to encourage production and manufacturing in China. The reason almost everyone is upset about these tariffs is because, Trump has basically hit the reset button of the global supply chain economy, and of course many currencies will be revalued again(including the USD) in order to adapt to the new Economy these tariffs will squeeze forth on a global level. Let me throw this question to you: if the USD was equivalent or slightly lower than the Chinese Yuan RMB, which place would you preferably do business in ... China or USA? |
maasoap:I gave a lecture on this not too long ago... trust me the structures that ensure the USD remains the reserve currency run very, very, deep... much deeper than even anticipated, it would take a long and difficult process to dismantle those structures, of which I don't see happening even in the next 2 decades. Put it in mind that even the viable challengers to that concept of changing the global reserve currency i.e "BRICS" and the EU, might seem organised and driven to that plan, but they actually do not even agree on a lot of things- even the simplest of things. So there will be talk about it but... no major milestone. FYI, the mere fact that China is part of BRICS is a strong reason why the USD will be around for a long time (China is not even interested in having their currency dictated by the global economy despite them being an economic powerhouse)... you see, "BRICS" member profiles mostly lack the transparency and elements of democracy and stability which is essential for backing a reserve currency and that's the reason Argentina left "BRICS" to start with. To put it easily, The "BRICS" consortium could be likened to a band of Pirates agreeing to form an alliance to defeat a common threat akin to law enforcement, however the pirates don't trust themselves because they know they are pirates .The EU on the other hand are part of the structures that ensure the USD is the reserve currency primarily because of defence reasons... oh and Russia is part of BRICS I could give another lecture here on (the role of the USD as a reserve currency in western sanctions) BRICS vs the EU, which will be too long, bottom line, the EU will rather endure 4 years of Trump, which is temporary than endure a perpetual threat to their security. Trust me on this one, it's easier for BITCOIN to become a global reserve currency than to have the USD switched globally... and of course you know that's not gonna happen anytime soon.A regional or Bloc reserve currency; YES! possible, but another Global reserve currency after the USD... naaaaah I don't see that happening again. |
oluwaseyi0:It's going to be very difficult for that to happen, because the structures that ensure the USD remains a reserve currency are very deep... |
correctyourself:But when you look at it from another angle, China already has this law set down that prevents their government workers from mingling with locals at foreign posts. Why is it a problem if the US also blocks their free hand? |
LordBiden:You are spot on! Actually if you look at things critically, only China is well positioned to retaliate and it makes sense, because China's tarriffs will re-arrange the global supply chain prices... and two things can happen 1. China revalues their currency to maintain a balance on manufacturing & export costs (because China has been operating on an undervalued currency in order to encourage production costs in China) Or 2. The US undervalues their currency in a bid to encourage and reduce production/manufacturing costs in the US. To put it shortly these tariffs are more about China. |
Of all the messages posted, only Colombia, New Zealand & Switzerland understand the drill... And only China has the muscle to match the statement they made... The rest are absolutely not in touch of the Economic reality at hand... except they all want to become part of the EU. |
MadPolitician:I think you should rethink what you are saying... Because I don't think you understand what's going on. First of all Nigeria is almost fully a consumption based economy. Nigeria heavily consumes imports... even up to Shifting consumption demand to China will not make any difference because China has also been hit with higher tariffs, so as a market adaptation mechanism China (Asia) will also need to adjust their pricing, because like it or not, there is a global supply chain... which won't do Nigeria any good. These tarriffs will cause a global market readjustment and if Nigeria still remains a consumption economy, either ways it will become very difficult for Nigeria, as these tariffs will majorly affect consumer economies... of which Nigeria is culprit. |

NothingDoMe:Spot on! The most straight-to-the-point post I have read in a long while on NL. The US and Israel are actually very lenient with Hamas, to the point they (Hamas) are now entitled... |
Look at these ones ![]() Mtcheew... |
bmaster2000:Seriously how old are you? Because if you are younger than at least 37-38 years then you shouldn't comment on what Prof. Nwosu did, as you didn't even experience that election under the military regime. You actually shouldn't comment on this topic at all, especially if you are a Gen-Z. |
Where are the pinshos ooo ![]() |
This is why Naija can NEVER be serious in anything. How can a president install a head in an "Independent" electoral commission? |
All this drama, na because dem tell am say him look pesin brezz for senate. ![]() Tchai... something must kil a man ![]() |
All these guys had to do was lock the game after the goal... Dah Ekong e nam ndisme... the guy just fall hands |
presty83:Thanks! You are right... I saw it. Apparently the group has full blown drama now, because as it is, Lesotho is also now in contention |
Actually yes they did... And if the investigation is confirmed correct by FIFA(which is a surety) then South Africa are cooked... The question is will points be given to Lesotho? |
I can most assuredly tell you that type of snake, is called "A Dead Snake" And because it is "A Dead Snake" you really don't have to worry about the venom. ![]() |
Guestmale:Thank you very much for directly pointing that out, since you have a clear outlook on the action of Putin, can you kindly explain the rationale behind Putin's invasion of Ukraine? |
Botragelad:I really think you should restudy what Russia's agitation is all about, because this whole Ukrainian standoff is nothing but a "waste of lives" crusade, proudly sponsored by the EU... and I find it very prudent that the US pulled out of supporting this madness. This war could have been completely avoided, but thanks to Zelenskyy who completely blew it... The man has blood on his hands as much as Putin does. |
Nefort:Bro, Specifically European teams will struggle playing with average African teams, most especially if the match is played on an African pitch. African football is a very different case, and I am sure you know by now that there are no longer small teams in African football... Even Guinea Bissau can give a team like Croatia a very tough time... especially if the match is played on a pitch somewhere in Guinea Bissau. |
So the truth about Hamas is finally leaking out... |
Who says one would Miss Nigerian women? |
to become a global reserve currency than to have the USD switched globally... and of course you know that's not gonna happen anytime soon.
