Science/Technology / Re: Why Is There Sun In The Space And The Space Is Still Very Dark by optimusprime2(m): 5:45pm On Apr 29
The answer to this question is in one word; "Distance" and in physics, that word has a formula which is= Speed × Time

When you factor in the speed of light,
The average distance between your eyes and the void from your vantage point,
And the average time it takes light to get to your eyes for you to perceive the refraction from the source....

That is one of the main reasons why space appears dark in the presence of the Sun and other stars.

Is this same airpeace flying London?
If God born them we'll make them try this with international flight na that time the owner go know say 200kngr is nothing compared to 2kpounds.
This is totally unacceptable
Lack of law enforcement is the reason for these airlines misbehaving

Do you blame the airline or the Federal Airports Authorities?

Because if a plane is not allowed to takeoff or land at Airport level, what can the pilot do?

If Airports were organised I believe Airpeace would deliver quality

Good morning my people
I'm glad to be here
Pls I have a btech and managerial role with over 11 years leadership work experience with a FMCG.

I currently have a B1/b2 and had my son in USA.
We are planning to go for summer and I'm considering changing status there to employment-based visa or Hb1 before the trip
Best options opinions pls
Not sure whichia better to start here before the trip or start when I'm there for summer.
Also if anyone used attorney - kindly share applicable rates and contacts of the best you found.
Also reply me with any link or thread or tag those that have done this process ..so that will help direct me on the right path. Thank you so much

It largely depends on the state you will be going to, however my advice: look for a very good immigration attorney in the state you are going to, who has experience & a track record in handling such cases... do your research.

But I must comment that you are choosing a very complicated path, which may take a loooooong time.

This is actually less than $600. Many people will argue that we don't spend dollars in Nigeria but the car you drive or the cab/bus you enter were actually bought with dollars. Many things like building materials and even foods are bought with dollars, so in essence, N907,000 may not be realistic to ask for but in reality, every sensible person knows that it is actually A MINIMUM WAGE!

What is the GDP per capita of Nigeria?
About 2000USD

Does Proposing a 600USD monthly minimum wage for a country with a 2000USD GDP per capita (more than 1/4 the GDP per capita) sound Economically normal? Bearing in mind a population of well over 200,000,000...

My focus would rather be fixed on increasing the GDP per capita, not the minimum wage.

Because increasing the minimum wage to for example 600USD as you proposed, will drive Nigeria towards acute poverty.

Countries that currently set 600USD as a minimum wage have an average GDP per capita at 9500USD for example Turkey.

There should be balance when running an economy not sentiment.

Nigeria is where its at today because things were done without considering the balance/imbalance.

600USD as a minimum wage in Nigeria with the current GDP per capita at 2000USD is absolutely ill advised.

Yes! Printing note and minting coin is part of their responsibility.

Though you're saying they printed excess, that's what you meant.

The question is,
You work with CBN?
You are an higher ranking CBN staff to have known this?

Have you not seen the pictures he attached?

Well to back up what he said,

https://www.channelstv.com/2024/02/29/fg-printed-too-much-money-gov-otti-laments-free-fall-of-naira/

It is no longer news that CBN has flooded the economy with too much money (as usual). Which is also partly to blame for the hyper inflation.

So these are obvious things even a baby can see sir, unless you feel like calling blue pink, and in that case, you are on your own.

Assuming that is even possible, given the state of things, the Economy will be flooded with too much money to sustain the new minimum wage and that will just drive ultra inflation...

That won't help matters at all.

Business / Re: Ghana’s Central Bank Suspends FX Licenses Of GT Bank And First Bank by optimusprime2(m): 2:16pm On Mar 05
It's very simple...

CBN's internally imposed Naira equivalent of FOREX does not correspond to the value externally, hence these banks need to twist figures in order to function.

But Las Las fowl nyaṣh don open...

First it was the international airlines, now other neighbouring countries... in a shortwhile CBN will realize that the international world are not BDC'S

By the time external factors pin Nigeria's currency value operations, the Naira will experience a drastic devaluation.
Business / Re: Naira Depreciates To N1,620/$ At Parallel Market by optimusprime2(m): 7:22am On Mar 05
At this point, when the Naira falls, it will be at its absolute devalued state, because CBN have already exhausted all the strategies and funds they can employ, as well as laid blames on all the non-factors... Basically, it is now out of CBN's control.

So at least everyone can finally admit that the ship is sinking.
