The two alleged fraudsters - Rilwanu Jamiu and Balogun Stanley Oyewole, arraigned by the Department of State Security (DSS) for cloning the mobile number of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode at the Isolo Chief Magistrate Court on Wednesday, April 20, 2016

The two alleged fraudsters – Rilwanu Jamiu and Balogun Stanley Oyewole, arraigned by the Department of State Security (DSS) for cloning the mobile number of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode at the Isolo Chief Magistrate Court on Wednesday, April 20, 2016

The Department of State Security (DSS) on Wednesday arraigned two artisans before an Isolo Magistrate Court for allegedly cloning the mobile line of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.

The suspects – Rilwanu Jamiu and Balogun Stanley Oyewole who claimed to be a cocoa dealer, were said to have attempted to perfect a N50 million transfer with the said mobile line.

Prosecuting counsel from the DSS, Mr. Peter Okerinmodun told Chief Magistrate Adeola Adedayo that the suspects were arrested after using the cloned mobile line of the Governor to send a text message to the Accountant General of the State requesting for transfer of N50 million.

He said the suspects conspired with others now at large to commit the crime on February 10, 2016 at about 10:02hours.

Count one reads: “That you Rilwanu Jamiu (M) of No 10, Giwa Street, Oka Akoko Street, Lagos and Balogun Stanley Oyewole (M) of No 65, Unity Street, Ikotun, Lagos and others at large on 10th February, 2016 about 1002hours at Lagos within Lagos Magisterial District, conspired to commit felony to wit: obtaining by false pretence and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 312 (2) and (3) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.”

Count two reads: “That you Rilwanu Jamiu, Balogun Stanley Oyewole of the above addresses, and others at large, on above date, time and place fraudulently cloned the Glo line of His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, with intent to induce him by false pretence and used the Glo line to send a text message for the transfer of a sum of fifty million Naira (N50m) and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 312 (2) and (3) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.”

After the charges were read to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty, while the prosecutor asked that they should be kept in protective custody pending the outcome of the legal advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) in view of the fact that their lives could be endangered by other suspects who are on the run.

But Magistrate Adedayo overruled Okerinmodun, saying the DSS ought to have kept them in custody judging by the fact that their lives could be in danger.

She said since the offence for which the accused persons were charged to court was bailable and the fact that the Magistrate Court is a court of summary trial, she was inclined to grant bail to the accused persons.

She, therefore, admitted them to bail in the sum of N1 million each and two sureties in like sum.
Magistrate Adedayo ruled that one of the sureties must be a religious or community leader within the jurisdiction of the court, and that the accused persons must provide five years tax clearance certificates.
She further ordered the accused persons to be remanded in Kirikiri Prison pending the perfection of the conditions attached to their bail, and adjourned the matter to May 10, 2016.

PoliticsEFCC Arraigns Tompolo In Absentia by optionB(op): 4:26pm On Apr 18, 2016
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday arraigned a former Niger Delta militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, in absentia on 22 counts of fraud amounting to N47.6bn.

Also arraigned in absentia in relation to the alleged fraud were six brothers of a former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency, Patrick Akpobolokemi – Igo, Julius, Victor, Norbert, Emmanuel and Clement.

Tompolo, Igo, Julius, Victor, Norbert, Emmanuel and Clement were declared as being “now at large” when the charges were read before a Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday.

But Akpobolokemi himself, two females, Josephine Otuaga and Rita Uruakpa and one Kime Engozu, who were also listed as defendants in the amended charge, were present in court on Monday to answer to the charges.

The other defendants in the charge were six companies, namely: Mieka Dive Training Institute Ltd./GTE; Oyeinteke Global Network Ltd.; Wabod Global Resources Ltd.; Boloboere Properties Estate Ltd.; Gokaid Marine Oil and Gas Ltd.; and Watershed Associated Resources.

The charges bordered on conspiracy, advanced fee fraud and money laundering.

In one of the counts, the EFCC alleged that the defendants conspired among themselves to defraud the Federal Government between December 2, 2014 and April 10, 2015, by inducing the Federal Government to deliver N11.9bn to them.

The EFCC claimed that the accused persons induced the Federal Government by “falsely pretending to the Federal Government that a parcel of land and its appurtenances situated at Mieka Dive Training Institute, Kurutie, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State had been acquired by NIMASA for the temporary campus of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko.”

By allegedly making fraudulent and false representations to the Federal Government, the EFCC said the defendants violated Section 1 (b) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and other fraud related offences Act, 2006 and were liable to punishment under Section 1(3) of the same Act.

In another count, the EFCC accused the defendants of fraudulently converting N13,027,564,822 belonging to NIMASA to theirs in 2014.

The offence is said to be contrary to Section 18 (a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012.

The defendants were also accused of swindling the Federal Government to the tune of N11.940bn, by presenting a forged Certificate of Customary Right of Occupancy of Bendel State of Nigeria, dated May 6, 2014, to NIMASA on the false claim that the forged document was genuine and issued by the Warri South-West Local Council, Delta State.

For the alleged offence, the EFCC said the defendants were liable to being punished under Section 1(2)(c) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Cap. M17, Laws of the Federation, 2004.

But Akpobolokemi and his alleged accomplices pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The presiding judge, Justice Ibrahim Buba, subsequently admitted them to bail.

Akpobolokemi, who had earlier been arraigned along with others by the EFCC at two different times before Justice Buba, was allowed to continue with a bail granted him by the judge on March 22, 2016.

The 2nd defendant, Engozu, who had also been earlier arraigned, was also allowed to continue with the bail granted him on March 22, 2016.

The 3rd and 4th defendants, – Otuaga and Uruakpa – were granted a N50m bail each with one surety in like sum.

The judge said the surety must be resident in Lagos and must own a developed landed property and swear to an affidavit of means.

The defendants and the sureties were asked to submit their passport photographs to the court.

Further proceedings in the case were adjourned till May 30 and 31, 2016.

PoliticsBuhari: I Feel Your Pains, Buhari Tells Nigerians, PM News by optionB(op): 6:24pm On Apr 09, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Nigerians for their perseverance while urging them not to lose confidence in the ability of his Administration to bring about the change they so much desire.

Speaking at the 2015 Vanguard Awards in Lagos on Friday night, where he was honoured with the Personality of the Year Award 2015, the President said he is keenly aware of the difficulties that Nigerians are facing at this time, resulting mostly from the fuel scarcity, poor power supply, inflation etc.

“As a government that was propelled into office by the power of the people, we cannot but feel the pains of our compatriots, and we deeply empathise with them. We are working round the clock to ease the pains of Nigerians, and the efforts of the government have started yielding fruits as we seek to make the petroleum products available nationwide, restore gas supply to the power generating firms, reflate the economy and put Nigerians back to work,” he said.

Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said he understands that Nigerians have started questioning whether this indeed is the CHANGE they voted for, while some have even gone as far as saying that by voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigerians have entered “One Chance”.

“Well, I can tell Nigerians that our CHANGE AGENDA is real, and that indeed, they will get the change they voted for. Nigerians have not entered ‘One Chance’, because the ‘One Chance’ drivers and their conductors have been driven out of town,” said the President.

“Change is a process, and that process has begun…The pains of today are temporary, and will soon give way to abundance joy as we put our country firmly on the path of sustainable growth and development.”

The President said all Nigerians, the Civil Society Organisations and the media are the real heroes of the last general elections in particular and the country’s democracy in general, adding that, “And they, more than anyone or group of people, deserve all the accolades.”

He commended the media for the role it played in ensuring the relative success of the last general elections, and the resilience of the nation’s democracy since the beginning of this Republic.

“When the history of the last general elections as well as our democracy is eventually written, I have no doubt that the media will occupy a prominent place on its honour’s list. This is not a surprise, because there is no contesting the fact that from the pre-independence years through the years of independence, the various attempts at democratic governance and the years of military interregnum, the media has stood solidly on the side of the people and has fought for the national interest, without compromising its integrity,” President Buhari added.

In bestowing the honour on the President, the Vanguard described him as “a living example of what tenacity, fortitude, and perseverance mean in human experience, and until future experience proves otherwise, he is the closest yet that Nigeria will have to America’s Abraham Lincoln.”

PoliticsPDP Chieftain Lauds Buhari For Wiping Out Boko Haram. PM News by optionB(op): 1:37pm On Apr 03, 2016
Alhaji Bashir Rimi-Zaya, Publicity Secretary of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi state, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for measures taken to curb insurgency in the country.

Rimi-Zayam made the commendation on Saturday in Bauchi while speaking with NAN.

He said that he was impressed with the measures taken by Buhari towards curbing terrorism in the North-East, and in combating other vices, including corruption, in the country.

He said that though it was too early to assess the achievements of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in its nine months in government, “one has to praise Buhari for his bold and giant strides”.

Expressing support to the president on the fight against corruption and efforts at recovering stolen funds, he said “retrieve the loots from the looters but don’t prosecute or send them to jail”.

“Anyone who has stolen public fund, even if it is me, should return the exact amount to the public treasury.

“But, I am begging Buhari to set the looters free and allow them to continue to live in terrible shame they have brought to themselves,” he said.

The PDP chieftain expressed satisfaction with the judiciary in the handling of corruption cases but cautioned that the government should be discerning in some of the matters.

“We all know that there are good judges and good lawyers, and there are bad judges and lawyers, therefore, Buhari should ensure that corrupt cases are sent to credible judges and lawyers,” he said

PoliticsBola Tinubu: My Life As A Cab Driver And Security Guard: PM News by optionB(op): 7:54am On Apr 01, 2016
Many are of the opinion that former Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was born right at the middle of a money-printing machine, but that is not true.

Some rumours also have it that his parents were very wealthy, so he practically worked for nothing in his life but that is also not true.

The diminutive Nigerian politician had to work his way up the ladder. He was once a cab driver and even a security guard who worked very hard to reach where he is today.

In a special publication by TheNEWS magazine, Tinubu detailed how he worked has a cab driver and a security guard. Here are excerpts from the interview.

Q: When did it strike you to travel out of the country?

A: I was lucky. Even though I was ambitious about travelling out of the country, particularly as my friends like Folabi Salami and Tokunbo Maxwell had just travelled to Germany, I would say that I was just lucky.
Others, like Nurudeen Olowopopo, of blessed memory, and Sola Popoola headed for the United States and it remained Tunde Badejo, Bolaji Agaba and myself. So, the three of us were determined that we must get out of Nigeria, too.

I went to Ikenne, with my late sister, for a big ceremony. We had gone to pick bottles of Coca-Cola from the cold room and wanted to quickly return to the St. Saviour’s Church, where my sister was. There was a sudden rain of bullets and had we not been rushing to the church to ensure that we didn’t miss what was going on there, I would have died. The young man that was standing with me was hit. He slumped and died.

Based on the sad incident and how I had narrowly missed death, my family said to me: ‘This boy, you have always said that you wanted to travel out of the country, it is time to do so.’ So, my mother gathered some money, sold her trinkets to make up for the remaining part of my allowances and joined it with proceeds from the sale of the Volkswagen Beetle given to me by my uncle, the late Ganiyu Tinubu, who used to work at Simpson Street, Ebutte-Metta. He had a Beetle car he bought from a Canadian and had it converted into a convertible, which I used to drive. Nobody taught me how to drive. He asked that I sell it and add the proceeds to the money I needed for my trip. That was what I did.

Bolaji Agaba and I left the same day for the United States, while Badejo left some months later. We got our visas through my family connections. Bolaji’s own had almost expired before we left. On our arrival in the US, we thought we would stay in New York. But Nurudeen Olowopopo said no and we put some money together for Bolaji’s ticket and we headed for Washington D.C. I stayed with the late Sola Popoola at Washington before we started finding our way. We were running out of funds then.

He helped us secure a one-room apartment in Alexandria, Virgina. We got an unregistered used car (they left the licence open) commonly called Gypsy, which we ran as a taxi. We operated at the airport, where we picked passengers, and not anywhere else, like the hotel because it was forbidden for unlicensed cab drivers to do so. We did that for a while to raise some money. We did, and Bolaji went to Tennessee, while I headed for Chicago.

Q: Can you tell us some unpleasant moments that you had then?

A: One experience I will not forget was when I over-charged a naval officer, who was returning to the country. It was not intentional. Apparently, I didn’t know the direction; there was no GPRS in those days to locate directions. So, he gave me the direction to his house in a Virginia suburb. I gave him the price and the man responded with a slap to my face. He said I should know the correct fare to charge to the location he mentioned. He slapped me and gave me the money.

Another experience was when I took a guy whom I didn’t know was drunk. When I drove to his house, he pointed a gun at me instead of paying the fare. He took my leather jacket and said: ‘Get into your car and get lost.’ He did not pay.

Another interesting one was when I was taking the third Accounting class and equally working as a security guard at a construction site. They were very serious with their kind of security. You just had to do that job. There were about six points with six clocks at the site, which the security man must wind every hour and with a dog in hand. So, there was never a chance of trying to catch a nap.

As I was doing my accounting assignment, I fell asleep. I was dead asleep! The inspector came to the site and found me sleeping, with my head on my books. He simply pulled the register and wrote: ‘I have been here. You were sound asleep. So, see me tomorrow.’ When I woke up, I found that Skiddo (the dog’s name) was gone, and then the register. I just went to a corner, cleaned my face and concentrated on my assignment because I knew the job was already gone.
You can’t lose two things. I ensured that I read well for my test and passed the next day. I opted to post their uniform and the cap to them, but suddenly ran into the man and he handed me my cheque and said the job was gone. I told him I knew and we said goodbye to each other! I had to start looking for another job.

PoliticsKachikwu: What Does Tinubu Want? PM News by optionB(op): 12:45am On Mar 30, 2016
Whatever All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu saw to make him attempt killing a fly with a sledge hammer must have really been something to dance naked over. In a clear departure from convention, Tinubu indirectly criticised the government presided over by his own political party, the APC when he took a swipe at the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu.

Kachikwu’s crime against Tinubu was that he expressed his frustration with the unrealistic expectations all around that the rot in the oil industry that causes the perennial fuel scarcity will disappear overnight or that the cabal behind the rot will not resist efforts at sanitising the industry. It will definitely take magic or something bothering on witchcraft to achieve what citizens expect within the timeframe they want – which is immediately.

Of course, anyone who has had the misfortune of wasting valuable time on the fuel queues or forking out fortunes to buy petrol at the killer black market prices would feel stung by any comment that offered no immediate remedy. Criticising such comment would be second nature but for such criticism to come from someone like Tinubu is an aberration that should have called for the Stephen treatment, you don’t come around pontificating about a problem you have been a part of.

The Goodluck Jonathan administration was emboldened to wreck the industry because it was confident the then opposition was in his pocket considering the several clandestine and nocturnal meetings to which the APC leader, then Action Congress of Nigeria (CAN) leader was regularly ferried. These meetings were not about telling the Jonathan government to rein in corruption or to stop the rot in the oil industry; they were to negotiate how he can ensure his nest was equally feathered from the sleaze going on at that time. He was the willing to hold similar secret meetings with the former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, whose name today has only one connotation with Nigerians.

ConocoPhillips is a stark reminder to Tinubu not to attempt denying his involvement in the oil industry corruption which is directly responsible with the dire straight we are in currently.

Even as a partaker in the shame of the petroleum industry, Tinubu could have quietly penned his caustic observations as a communication to Mr President and spared the nation the theatrics of that his ‘Kachikwu Needs to Know That Respect and Good Performance Will Do What Magic Cannot’ statement. The statement came out making the APC leader look like he has finally found and finished grooming a stooge to replace Kachikwu. What he has done is to open up his party and its government to ridicule by helping the present opposition do its job, hopefully, he is not addicted to being in the opposition or criticising for the sake of it.

The other take away from the statement is that it reinforces the several insinuations that Tinubu is smarting from losing out in the power equation since President Muhammadu Buhari came into office. (While he was partly instrumental in turning around the fortunes of the former opposition party he should also accept the impossibility of being the one to fill all appointive posts.) Attacking Kachikwu the way he did is then a way of hitting back against President Buhari, who has been severally reported as rebuffing Tinubu’s overbearing intrusion.

Furthermore, had Tinubu been a tad patient, he would have successfully hidden the fact that his is the hand behind the puppets demanding Kachikwu’s resignation on behalf of the oil cabals. But on this score, Jagaban as he is popularly called should have known better that Nigerians, most of whom appreciate the changes the Minister of State for Petroleum has brought about, are not ready to see Kachikwu go. Instead they want to see a Kachikwu that is left alone to continue with the reforms in the oil industry. The people they want to see go and certainly tried, convicted and thrown in jail are members of the oil cabals for whom Tinubu is now the official spokesperson.

The other thing Tinubu should note is that Kachikwu’s exit, if we ever get to that sorry pass, would not translate into one more slot for his cronies, because Nigerians will do the vetting for any replacement if that ever happens and a Tinubu marionette would not get the clearance to step in. Allowing that would amount to returning our collective future back to the oil cabals with more ConocoPhillips deals to sour our lives.

By now, Tinubu should realise that while Lagos state, where he remains the emperor absolute, is a microcosm of Nigeria, Nigeria is not Lagos state. He has held that state hostage for as long as is tolerantly possible but he lacks the stamina or the clout to expand his fiefdom to cover the whole of Nigeria where the average sophistication exceeds the best of his strategies.

So Tinubu must recognise and accept the glaring reality that he cannot unseat Kachikwu. What he can immediately do include placing a personal call to the minister to eat the humble pie. He can then go a step further by spilling the proprietary secrets of the cabals that can be used for taming the corruption in the oil industry since he has inside scoop on how things go down. He is of course free to throw in suggestions that can make the industry function better since this should ordinarily be an obligation for citizens.

For Kachikwu, this should be a lesson on the reach of the cabals. They permeate all facets of our national life and have access to all levels and arms of government. They have following and retain influencers with cult following that could be deployed once their interests are being threatened. The braying is just revving and would get louder but this should not take his eyes off the ball.

Christianity EtcMuslim Murdered For Wishing Christians Happy Easter by optionB(op): 11:23pm On Mar 29, 2016
– A Muslim man was murdered allegedly because he posted Good Friday messages

– Asad Shah was stabbed more than 30 times inside the shop he owned

– a 32-year-old man is in police custody charged with murder

Tragedy struck over the Easter weekend after a Muslim shopkeeper was murdered for wishing his Christian neighbours a happy Easter.

Asad Shah was stabbed more than 30 times in the brutal assault inside his shop in Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland.

It is believed he was killed after he posted a message on Facebook wishing Christians a Good Friday.

“Good Friday and a very Happy Easter, especially to my beloved Christian nation… Let’s follow the real footstep of beloved holy Jesus Christ and get the real success in both worlds,” Shah said.

Shah was a well loved member of his local community

A 32-year-old man has been arrested for murder and is still being interrogated by police officers.

Mohammad Faisal, a family friend, said a bearded Muslim wearing a long religious robe entered Shah’s shop and spoke to him in his native language before stabbing him in the head with a kitchen knife.

“The man dragged Shah away but the guy continued attacking with the blade,” said Faisal.

“They struggled up to the bus stop where Asad collapsed.

“That man must not have been too happy about what he was doing, what he was preaching. It was a well-planned attack. He must have been an extremist.”

In previous online posts, Shah spoke out eloquently against violence and hatred and called for unconditional real love for all mankind.

“Merry Christmas to all my beloved Christian nation and to all beloved mankind with best wishes,” Shah posted last Christmas

One of Shah’s neighbours said his murder was a despicable act, especially so as he was such a loved member of the community.

“He was proud of his Pakistani heritage but he loved Britain. He loved Scotland too and really wanted to reach out to Christians. This is such a terrible thing to happen.

More than 300 mourners gathered at a vigil last night to pay their respects to Shah whose death has sent shockwaves throughout Scotland’s Muslim community.

PoliticsBiafrans Issue Fresh Treat To President Buhari, See What They Are Planning by optionB(op): 9:27pm On Mar 28, 2016
Pro-Biafra protesters are set to resume their nationwide protests.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have threatened President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that they will resume their nationwide protests.

According to a statement issued by its media and publicity head, Emma Powerful, the group said it had endured enough waiting for the federal government to release its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who was arrested in 2015.

This Day reports that the separatists would reignite the wave of protests in the south-east and parts of south-south zones.

READ ALSO: Biafra: Buhari must realize it makes better sense to talk than to shoot

The statement reads in part: “We have endured, we will start the protest that will bring the government to its knees.”

The group added also, that the protest was earlier called off so as “not out of cowardice and fear but to show maturity and professionalism in what we are doing and to allow federal government to release our leader, Kanu unconditionally.”

Powerful noted that it gave the federal government the opportunity to take a decision and “release the man who did not commit any crime” with its recent break from protests, but they remained adamant.

“We know they will kill us as they used to do before now but in the end we will be free.” He called on, “Biafrans to be ready for what is to come,” the statement read further.

The IPOB media and publicity head expressed their excitement with the pro-Biafra protests going on around the world which is still in progress, adding that “we in Biafraland will not stop until our leader is released unconditionally.”

He also said those who advised President Buhari against the freedom for the IPOB leader are waiting to laugh over his downfall.

Only yesterday, the ex-governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi, said that most of the injustices and marginalization alleged to have been meted on Ndigbo in Nigeria were self-inflicted.

Obi made the disclosure in Awka, the Anambra state Capital during the grand reunion of Osisiona Foundation founded by Dr Chike Obidigbo, former All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), gubernatorial aspirant in the state.

He (Obi) said that Igbos chose to be spectators than getting into the mainstream of seat of power, where the national cake is being shared, declaring that if one was not where the cake is being shared nobody will remember you.

RomanceEse’s Letter (unedited): Pls Read & Reply Me Inusa, The Sun News by optionB(op): 1:05pm On Mar 19, 2016
Dear, Inusa how are you? I hope you are fine and all is well with you? Please don’t be annoyed by these words but I think it is best for the both of us. Please please please don’t be annoyed I beg of you Inusa, maybe everyone just have to say the truth.
I want to start by saying thank you for everything if accepted, thank you yanzu, I would say I now know what is going on which you never wanted to tell me but I will say that is not fair.
When I started selling here, I met Abubakar who once told me that he had fellings for me but I can never send because I did not have fellings for him, so I turned him down. Then again I met Genedu and I also turned him down. Now, it is Dantata which everybody knows that he loves me dearly but I find a lot of faults in him and don’t love him back. He has done his best to stay down and beg about one year now, if I am right, I will never lie to you Inusa. Dantata has been begging me to love him back but as soon as I wanted to fall for him you came back into my life. I still know that Dantata is still waiting for me only if I will accept him.
Inusa I now know that you also love me and I have decided to love you back. I love you Inusa but sometimes I do think Dantata is still seeking. My name as know by myself is RITA and my main problem is that if I love you (Inusa) and you also love me what will become of us. You once told me you like me more than anyone else, but now I have seen how far you have gone in this case because it is very serious to me.
You asked me to help you in just three ways in which you said:
Follow me to my village – Kano State
Leave your religion for mine – Christian & Muslim
It is only you I love and no other person
I have already accepted the first quest then while decide to tell me that you cannot take me along with you the same day it is very unfair. Inusa why, just tell me why you decide to be unfair.
Well Inusa there were many other Hausa boys who asked for friendship but did not get it. I had so many people who I have lived with do you know what it means to live the people you had lived with for 13 good years of life.
Think on me Inusa please
I beg of you Inusa please
Think on me
My heart bit immediately or anytime I see you if you know how much I love you you will not think about hurting my fellings
I still stand by you Inusa, yeallo yellow my best colour but one question who made you think.
I write this because I am sick and tired of this baldadash I hear everyday.
You should know this Genedu, Abubakar, Saidu are humans for crying out loud. Inusa to conclude this, taught you can solve this problem by just one thing.
Your address and your phone number, maybe if we have to go one by one we shall do just that.
No matter what happens I still love you Inusa
No matter what the case may be I still love you Inusa
From yours dearly Rita a.k.a Ese

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday described the photos posted by the Peoples Democratic Party to indict APC of allegedly offloading N5billion at the Port Harcourt Airport to rig Saturday’s rerun election in the state as fraudulent and fake.

The party asked Nigerians to disregard the pictures and video being circulated, adding that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi were nowhere near the Port Harcourt Airport on Saturday, as claimed by the PDP.

Following were some of the tweets posted from their Twitter handle @APCNigeria:

“1. FRAUD ALERT: @PdpNigeria posts fake photos of ‘money being offloaded at Port Harcourt airport for @APCNigeria to use for #RiversRerun’”

“2. Posted photos aren’t of PHC airport tonight. All who used the airport confirmed the tarmac wasn’t wet as seen on @PdpNigeria’ fake pics.”

“3. @ChibuikeAmaechi, the SGF were nowhere near PHC airport today. We enjoin our supporters to remain focused amidst their call for violence.”

“We’ll continue to call on our supporters to adhere strictly to all electoral guidelines ahead of tomorrow’s rerun elections in River State.”

CrimeHotel Selling Cooked Human Meat Found In Onitsha, 11 Arrested With Human Heads, by optionB(op): 5:36am On Mar 19, 2016
According to Osun Defender, Onitsha police arrested 11 people after they discovered 2 fresh human heads in a hotel (name withheld) very close to the popular Ose-Okwodu market in Anambra state on Thursday

2 AK47 rifles and other weapons were also discovered in the hotel.

The arrest followed tip-offs from area residents on Thursday morning.

The hotel owner, 6 women and 4 men were arrested.

After police got access to the hotel, they made a startling discovery of two human heads wrapped in a cellophane bag, two AK47 rifles, two army caps, 40 rounds of live ammunition and so many cell phones.

“Each time I came to market, because the hotel is very close to the market, I always noticed funny movements in and out of the hotel; dirty people with dirty characters always come into the hotel.

So, I was not surprised when the police made this discovery in the early hours of yesterday,” said a vegetable seller in the area.

A Pastor who was among the people who tipped off the police on Thursday said: “I went to the hotel early this year, after eating, I was told that a lump of meat was being sold at N700, I was surprised.

So I did not know it was human meat that I ate at such expensive price.”

PoliticsSaraki Wins First Battle At CCT Trial, PM News by optionB(op): 3:30pm On Mar 18, 2016
Senate President Bukola Saraki, won the first part of his battle to stop his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, by letting tribunal hear his motion over jurisdiction.

Government lawyer, Rotimi Jacobs told the Tribunal he has been served with defendants motion dated 4 March, 2015.

But he argued that going by sections 220, 221 and 396 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, the motion cannot be moved before beginning of hearing of the substantive case.

“The only thing the court can do now is to proceed to trial. I want Your Lordship to determine the issue now,” Jacobs said. He further explained that the of ACJA stipulated that technical objections cannot be raised during trial.

He added section 396 (2) said after a plea has been taken, the defendant can raise any objection which can only be considered alongside the substantive trial.

According to him, the defendant is challenging the validity of the charges by saying the Attorney General did not have power to filed charges against him or that he was not informed before the charges were filed against him.

Jacobs urged the Tribunal to enforce the ACJA to ensure that justice is done according to the law. Jacob said the court should allow the prosecution to call his witness.

Kanu Agabi, for Saraki said the defence is happy to be in court and the opportunity to defend him.

He argued that motion is part of administration of justice and the Tribunal should hear it.

He reminded the Tribunal Chairman that he ruled last Friday that the motion would be argued today.

The defence counsel said the motion is challenging the juridisction of the tribunal to hear the case.

Justice Umar however ruled that he is ready to hear the motion as anything done by the Tribunal without determination of the issue of juridisction will be nullity.

Agabi is about to move the motion now.

PoliticsWike Calls For Amaechi’s Arrest, PM News by optionB(op): 1:50pm On Mar 17, 2016
The Rivers State Government led by Governor Nyesom Wike has called on security operatives to adhere strictly to President Muhammadu Buhari’s directives without bias, urging them to arrest the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and prosecute him if he poses any security threat and violates the electoral laws, before, during and after the Rivers State re-run polls.

The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George who made this declaration in a press statement, said Amaechi’s hotel room and vehicles should be searched to ensure that he was not in possession of sensitive materials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), before, during and after the election.

The Commissioner said, Amaechi’s plot to truncate the electoral process in Rivers State through the instigation of violence had been perfected two weeks ago.

He called on the security forces to quickly investigate disturbing security intelligence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had sown fake military uniforms and distributed to its members to cause mayhem during the elections, so as to plunge the State into anarchy.

The Commissioner also requested an urgent investigation into credible information that the INEC ad hoc staff list is already populated with fanatical APC supporters, who have been mandated to rig the elections without scruples.

Dr. Tam-George further posited that “the electoral law is no respecter of any person no matter how highly placed”, and urged INEC to be responsive to its duties and resist being pliable in the hands of Mr Amaechi.

The Commissioner emphasized that INEC should recognize that it would be held to the highest operational and ethical standards throughout the electoral process.

PropertiesHenceforth, Omo-oniles Will Be Treated As Criminals – Lagos State Government by optionB(op): 3:34am On Mar 16, 2016
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday said it would no longer tolerate the illegal activities of land grabbers otherwise known as Omo-Onile, just as it warned that anyone found using such to disturb public peace and illegally disposes people of their property would be prosecuted in accordance with relevant criminal laws.

The State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, who said this shortly after the monthly Security Council Meeting, said the state government was seriously concerned about the menace of land grabbing, especially as activities of land grabbers have escalated in recent times, and that it would no longer be tolerated henceforth.

Briefing journalists at the end of the meeting chaired by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and attended by heads of security agencies in the state, Kazeem said the Council strongly condemned the disturbing menace of land grabbing, and advised members of the public who are victims of such to gather enough evidence and forward same to the appropriate security agencies for prompt action.

“Land is a very important asset in this state and the security of title is also very important and therefore, anybody who uses threat of arms or physical threat to disposes people of their legitimate property will be treated as criminals.

“Land grabbing can be civil and criminal once you use threat of arms and other physical threat to disposes people of their property and so what I will advice the public is that when you are faced with situation like this, do not physically engage these people. What you should do is to get details, video and any other information you can get on them, pass such information to the security agencies who will in turn pass them to the government and I assure you that my office will work round the clock to prosecute these people for crimes.

“It is criminal trespass when you seek to go on other people’s property that does not belong to you. So, this is a clear warning that the Lagos State Government will no longer tolerate these activities. It is going to be zero tolerance,” the Commissioner said.

Also speaking to reporters on the outcome of the meeting, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni said the Council majorly considered the need to build on the successes recorded so far with regard to providing safety and security for the people, and also looked at the need to sustain and improve on measures that have so far been put in place which resulted in successes against crimes.

He said Governor Ambode specifically appreciated the people for providing useful information to security agencies, and urged them not to relent in further supporting the government and indeed security agencies.

“Let me reassure members of the public that the Lagos State Government and its security apparatus have all the wherewithal to hunt and look for anybody that comes to Lagos to engage in any criminal activities and let me place it on record that such criminals will be pursued to any nook and cranny that they may run to and they will be made to face the law of the land.

“In furtherance as well, the Council considered the need for us to also re-gig our efforts toward the Easter Celebration that is coming up and we also looked generally at the activities of hoodlums who had called themselves the land grabbers,” Owoseni said.

He added that the police would work with relevant agencies to stop the activities of land grabbers, and that the police was poised to go headlong to pursue the criminal elements in the state
