Indications have emerged that Governor Nyesom Wike may likely have his candidate, Uche Secondus installed as PDP National Chairman at the party's convention scheduled for tomorrow Saturday 9th December.

Reports show that the Governor has spent a minimum sum of 15b naira to sponsor the convention. The Governor is also reported to have bought up almost everybody of influence in the PDP.
The recent outbursts of former military President Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Bode George, Ebenezer Babatope and other stakeholders especially from the South West against the PDP National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Sen.Ahmed Makarfi is connected to the fact that Gov. Wike is single handedly funding the Convention with a whopping 15.5b naira. This is aside the offers he made influential members of the party including its National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi who recently picked up 2.5b naira cash and a multi billion naira contract alongside 3 other important members of the Committee who also got at least 500m each from the Rivers Governor.

The Governor was also said to have reminded the party stakeholders how he spent over 7billion naira in securing judgment for the Sen. Makarfi faction of the party against Sen.Modu Sheriff at the Supreme Court.

To show his seriousness in securing the party's top post, Governor Wike is reported to have given each Northern PDP State Chairman 5m naira each and has budgeted $10,000 for each delegate who votes his candidate, Uche Secondus.

The Governor, who is derisively referred to as The Port Harcourt ATM by party top stakeholders on account of his huge financial inducement is leaving no stone un-turned in acquiring the PDP ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The Governor had earlier promised to support Atiku Abubakar's Presidential ambition but later appeared to be backing down on the promise, prompting a surprising visit from former President Goodluck Jonathan who is one of Atiku's strongest backers.

Governor Wike has a reputation of heavy financial inducements, his name had cropped up at every bribery saga since 2015. He was caught on tape compromising and threatening INEC officials who were in the state to conduct the several re-run elections held recently.

Meanwhile back home in Rivers State, the government is owing a lot of backlog in arrears and pensions including over 24 and 7months owed staff of Rivers State Sustainable Dev.Agency and GPH Agency respectively. The Governor is also known for embarking on low-value projects spiced up with massive media coverage.

As it stands now, it will take a miracle for anybody in the party to meet Wike's huge financial war chest.

Wike came into governance without any plan. With our massive state allocation and IGR we should be competing with Dubai but we're competing with Abeokuta.

Well it seems APC will be getting bloc votes from the SW, Edo should be going for APC. And depending on where the PDP VP is from will decide how the SS is shared.

All the NW, NC is going for APC plus about 4 NE states

Conservative estimates
7 NW, 6 SW that is already 13 states for Buhari. Add at least 3 states in NE and at least another 3 in NC that is another 6. Plus Edo 1

So before campaign APC has almost secured 20 states

I can see some deluded entities who are overestimating their pathetic little importance in PDP,
They are still shocked at how PDP dumped them in the race of PDP chairmanship.
2019 is going to be interesting.
PDP don't need the south west to win, WHY?
In 2015 it was a contest between a northerner(buhari)and a southerner(gej), this united the north because they want power back.
Come 2019,its going to be NORTHERNER VS NORTHERNER and the vote is going to be shared in the North because the prospect of north staying in power for fresh 8more years under PDP is attractive.
South west is an overrated region in voting strength, it showed in 2007,2011,2015.
Votes are always divided there, there is no bloc votes there.
The easterners in southwest always shake the vote due to their PDP affiliation.
So a PDP candidate in 2019 will divide buhari votes in the north especially North Central aka middle belt,
After that, the PDP candidate will get a bloc vote of southeast and south south.
Remember that buhari got 15million while GEJ got 12million in 2015.
A northerner will bridge that 3million gap in 2019.
PDP should not fall to these latest strategy by southwest .
The PDP have already zoned its positions.
President -North
Vice President -South East
National chairman - South South.

PDP just confused themselves, and wait after they fail election in 2019 they will still blame APC for their failure.

Before now, I used to say PDP has internal arrangement more than any party in Nigeria but that one is before.

Zoning chairman and vice to South south and south east is nothing but suicide, marginalising southwest is not a good bet for any party that wants win an election in Nigeria. I'm a northener but I have since realised this.

very dangerous game, they better just postpone the convention to iron this important issue out. Atiku needs to sort this if he wants one vote from the southwest. because all this seems like taking the southwest for granted. something Gej learned too late, that he had to break open central bank just to rain dollars while making lagos his permanent residence . PH witout good road network, mostly dependent on individual household borehole for water supply, and a very compact city. Only in ur dreams can PH be d capital of Nigeria

The Rivers State Secretariat is comrised of Block A, Block B, Block C and Podium Block. They are ten storey each. Some distance to them is another, the tallest, around Government House (Brick House). It is called Point Block, and is made up of three crescent-shaped blocks with their curves backing one another. On them are two open hands facing the sun.
The structures here, including the Ministry of Justice when you're entering through Superbod remind me of structures in the first generation universities in Lagos, Ife, Ibadan and Zaria. They're of high quality.
Township where the Secretariat Complex is located is the place I love most in Port-Harcourt. In fact this is the real capital of Rivers State. Notable places, structures, schools and roads here include: Radio Rivers in Degema Street, Nigerian Prisons, Civic Centre Comlex, State High Court, Federal High Court, Bernard Carr Street, Aggrey Road, Creek Road, I.B. Johnson, Police Headquarters, Mosco Road, Bank Road, Nnamdi Azikiwe Road, House of Assembly Complex, Baptist High School, Loco Market, Gbundu, Enitonia High School, GGSS, Habour Road, Holy Rosary Girls School, Comprehensive Secondary School, Stella Maris College, Government Secondary School, Borokiri; Tourist Beach, Zoo, NPA, and so on.
