Ok that is good. Good luck.
raymege:
Ok. Thanks. The admission is already secured and I have even paid 50% of the fees
Already visited Canada and back. Went with my family , had to come back to Nigeria, couldn't spend much time because of work.

Someone advised I should put in the application from Nigeria, so that was what I did.

[Qquote author=oriazowan post=79694685]My candid advise is for you to enter Canada with the visitor visa and while you are here, gain admission and apply for study permit.
PS: both study permit and visitor visa are referred to TRV (Temporary Residents Visa)
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 8:50pm On Jun 26, 2019
Exactly my point.
Jephehe:
A friend of my here in Canada invited his Mom for his graduation ceremony, The mum was in Uk for a short visit because of that she did her biometric in Uk, Visa was approved and passport request, submitted and Stamped in Uk.

If you are in Canada on Visitor Status and you have applied for Study Permit if passport request showed while in Canada you can submit it in Canada.

Another option is when the Visa is Approved you can pick the study permit up in the Land borders.

My wife has change from visitor to Open work permit in Canada land border, I changed my study permit to PGWP in the land border without SOP much documents to convince the Land Border Officers.

Na my case i dey talk oh.

Hopefully it comes out in praise
SimpleDimples:
Thanks for confirming.

I have seen background checks and eligibility started without any update notification this period.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by oriazowan: 9:53pm On Jun 24, 2019
You are right. Got update on eligibility for my mum’s account but no email notification.
SimpleDimples:
Wow Paper route now faster than online.

I believe it's too many application this period, probably the don't have time to send updates.

I know as of April, early May..... People got ghost update or account updates for eligibility..... this period, accounts are updated without email notification.

Just a humble observations though.

Just pick it up.

If you sent to London in the last 2weeks I ll suggest you send only to Nairobi in my opinion. Please maybe the gurus in the house can suggest more.
Kstings:
U think? Coping lagos and london again or just nairobi.... since I have sent an email twice to london should I copy them again?
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by oriazowan: 9:12am On Jun 21, 2019
Try sending to nairobi@international.gc.ca. Recently it seems like online application are handled in Kenya
Kstings:
No both background check and eligibility status still been checked it’s quite frustrating. Since it’s online I sent to about 4 email addresses to london copied lagos immigration as well
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by oriazowan: 8:59am On Jun 21, 2019
Wow that’s indeed a long time. Has your eligibility review changed since the day you submitted the application? What email address did you send your query to?
Kstings:

Good evening All,

I am in the process of re-applying Online route for my TRV (Paper Application denied Last week)

Please can you advise who the Letter of explanation (Response letter to my previous rejected TRV application) to be addressed to since it was sent from Kenya and also if my cover letter (Reason for travel/Itinerary breakdown) should be addressed to same details.

Many Thanks.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by oriazowan: 6:28am On Jun 20, 2019
It would be better if you apply for supervisa for them but if you want a normal visitor’s visa then you can apply for more than 6months. I guess your parents S are retired. So you ll need to write an invitation letter inviting them to visit you in Canada, your bank statement for 4months, your T4 for last year, pay stub for 4months, proof of your residency, your home address (if they ll be staying with you), your employment letter. Since they are above 50+ years of age, they will almost likely be given 5-10 years. Be hopeful

You should log into your Gckey to view your application. Tracking it on vfs will show no record.

You can add your bank statement to your proof of financial support and your landed properties can be in the optional document slot
ibukunpops:

Hello house,

Please is there anybody whose application has passed the processing time with no update?
What steps did you take?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 4:40pm On Jun 17, 2019
Amen thanks a lot
mcobex:
Okay, it should work this time. Good luck to him
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by oriazowan: 4:14pm On Jun 17, 2019
If you have no information about them, then you can exclude them and include only the ones you have information on.
pointednose:
As per siblings' information on the family information form.

In a situation where you cannot trace your stepbrothers and stepsisters- your stepmother and stepfather's children that they had for other partners that is not your mother/father (different from half brothers and half sisters) because they are many, scattered, and people who can give you some information are deceased.

What can one do?

PS: I hope no one is offended that I had to define what step siblings are, I just wanted us to be on the same page.

Please a quick enquiry. Is it true that ordering for gcms note from inside Canada is faster that ordering for it outside of Canada? I am considering doing so on behalf of my brother if it possible. Please advise
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 11:01am On Jun 17, 2019
No he hasn’t ordered for his gcms note. If he is unable to resume in September 2019, he will be unable to renew his scholarship. So we are trying to apply again . I know it is not the wisest step to take by not getting the gcms note. We are using his son and my old parents as home ties as well as a small business he runs. All these weren’t stated in his initial application though.
mcobex:
I don't think the issue here is fund related, any of the above steps you decide to take will be good. Has he ordered for his gcms note? just to be sure why he was delayed. I have a strong feeling he wasn't able to convince the vo on home-tie and personal asset, I will advise he uses his son as his home-tie. He can say that he loves his son so so much and can't stay far away from him for long, so he has enough reason to go back to Nigeria after study to be with his son. Also, other family members can be use as hometie as well, but let him talk more about his son in this case
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 9:51am On Jun 17, 2019
Please I need some suggestions concerning my brother’s application from the gurus in the house. He has a scholarship of $5000 and a TA position of $5k totaling $10k as what he will be given per year for two years. As part of a means to solve his refusal on the basis of personal asset and financial status, we are considering paying his first year tuition fee of $6k then he ll submit his bank statement of about N5m. To our calculation, he ll have $10k + 5m for his first year of study. This is because the scholarship and TA will be paid in instalments every month for the duration of the study. Please advise if this arrangement makes sense. Or should we leave the $6k in his dollar acct?
PS: he is married with a kid. Thanks a lot for your responses
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 9:37am On Jun 17, 2019
In my opinion I think it is important to let the VO know you are pregnant because it will be stated on your medical report given that as a pregnant woman you ll have to be excluded from the X-ray scan.
mcobex:
You don't have issues with the passport, you will get your TRV but when you get to Canada you won't be given sturdy permit beyond your passport expiry date. Bur don't worry as once you renew your passport you can go back to cic to extend your permit.
For the pregnancy case, I think some applicants have gotten their TRV with it. It also depends if you want to make it known to cic that you are pregnant, If you do then make sure you let them know how you intend to cope with the pregnancy while studying because it won't be an easy task combining both. Others with more experience should please talk more about this
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 5:57pm On Jun 15, 2019
Yes it expires after three months
guzenaira:
Thanks,

The bolded was my problem because a lawyer wanted to collect 30k which is a little over 100box and I know I once saw on this thread that it is as low as 3k depending on bargaining power. The same reason I didn’t do it during my applications.

And again, pls does it expire?

I will weigh my options anyway.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 5:10pm On Jun 15, 2019
Thank you so much. We are working on pushing some funds into the account because there isn’t an available sponsor/co-sponsor right now. We thought his scholarship and TA position was going to cover for the lapses.
JustMellow:
From what i could recall about the info provided before about the PA's funds isn't sufficient enough for a self sponsorship. The PA should get a sponsor or cosponsor as a backbone to support PA's financial strength. Also, PA should work well on Personal assets and Financial stutus, showing good representation of relevant evidence and proper connection with the SOP. The LOE should be well drafted to tackle the refusal grounds.

Good luck on his behalf!

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 9:12pm On Jun 14, 2019
Yes it is possible. What you need to do is to go to the police department in the country where you are and give your finger prints. They ll give you a form that you with your finger prints and you can courier it to Nigeria and have someone help you take to alagbon police station
guzenaira:
Pls,

Those that did police character certificate, pls I need this info very urgent.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 6:33pm On Jun 14, 2019
He is self-sponsored
JustMellow:
Who was his sponsor?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 1:52pm On Jun 14, 2019
Ok thanks I ll work on it
