Politics › Re: 2023 Presidency: Buhari’s Associates Search For Southern ‘legacy’ Candidate by ORIENTATION101: 11:59am On Aug 16, 2021
Hemanwel:
Only massive rigging can make a southern presidential candidate win against popular northern presidential candidates like Atiku and Kwankwaso.

So PDP, be wise!
kwankaso or Atiku can't defeat any southern APC candidate cos they don't have political structure.

I like ur analysis bro but i want you be objective in your analysis and also understand 2023 is i different ball game.
Let's assume Atiku (PDP) and Asiwaju (APC) are the presidential candidates for the two major political parties, going by the results of last election, my analysis are as follows:

NORTH WEST: I'm very sure Asiwaju won't garner as much as the votes Buhari got there (the shehu yar'adua/Atiku PDM structure is a factor that may play out there), Atiku got almost 30% of votes there at the last election and he may likely get more there this time around. Asiwaju has higher chances in kano, katsina, jigawa, but a 50-50 chances in states like kaduna, kebbi, zamfara, and may likely lose in sokoto where the caliphate lies.

NORTH EAST:
The North east is where Atiku comes from, he got almost 30% of votes there at the last election and I'm sure he'll get at least more votes coming from there this time around. Asiwaju strongholds here are borno, yobe, 50-50 chances in gombe, bauchi, may likely lose Adamawa and Taraba.

NORTH CENTRAL:
Atiku got almost 45% of votes here at the last election.
Asiwaju may likely win niger and kogi, 50-50 chance in benue, nasarawa but may like lose fct, plateau, kwara.

SOUTH WEST:
Atiku got almost more than 40% here. This is asiwaju's stronghold but he may likely lose in states like oyo, ekiti and osun (the outcome of the upcoming ekiti and osun election are determinants in this).

SOUTH EAST:
Atiku has over 75% here. Asiwaju may likely not win a state here but I'm sure he'll get at least 30% of votes coming from here.

SOUTH SOUTH:
Atiku has over 65% of votes here. Asiwaju may like not get more than 30% of votes coming from here too.

With all these analysis stated above I'm sure 2023 Election will be keenly contested by these two candidates if the they should scale through the primaries but I'm very sure that factors of determinants that may likely play out are; choice and background of their running mates, their Ethnicity and also the choice of the sultan because they are both muslims.

It's just my opinion bro
even though its your opinion, but you got alot of things wrong here.you re far from being objective.like seriously 75% for Atiku in south east? How is it going to happen, with ipob,ESN, fulani herdsmen trouble that has plaque south east with igbo socio cultural leaders threatning to work against pdp if they ignore south east in 2023.

You see if 2023 is about a southerner and Fulani (Atiku vs Tinubu) . trust me Atiku is going to loose woefully in south and north central, the fulani herdsmen killings especially in North central and south has killed his chances infact buhari might be the last fulani president in Nigeria. With the hatred average Nigerian have for Fulani today. It will be difficult to convince an average Nigerian to trust fulani with power again.

I cant believe You said Tinubu will loose oyo, osun,Ekiti, kwara, like seriously cheesy who re the politicians in these states that is going to deliver them to Atiku and PDP?

In Nigeria political terrain you cant win election except you have a well oiled political machinery and structure.

If Atiku is banking on being a Northerner to gain sentiments to beat a southerner in APC then he is building castle in the air. That sentiments died decades ago he has to do his homework
Mko Abiola, obj, and Gej defeated northerners even when that sentiment was still strong not know when a fulani man is been hated from North to south

whatever.
This is the formation pdp used to win election when they re in power

Win south west, south south south east, north central and get 25% in core north.

This formula is not feasible again because they have lost south west and north central while their block votes in SS/SE has diminished.

If you Think Atiku that doesnt have full control of his state politics will spring a suprise out of a blue moon then you re day dreaming.

Agree without reservation.

If PDP field a Northerner as their presidential candidate and the APC field a Southerner, the settings will make things more tougher for PDP. PDP can never get the kinds of votes GEJ got in 2011 and 2015 in the South South and Southeast.

The calculation favours the APC presidential candidate in 2023. The APC are in control at the centre and they have more states under their control.

I'm very sure that this politics una nor sabi am. The zones not voting for PDP is due to the Buhari effect. The North West and North East vote North and not Party. And they already have this love for Buhari. If a Southerner go against a Northerner, the two zones will vote the Northerner. If Tinubu like make he eat juju, the two zones will vote Atiku or Tambuwal.
you re a clown, core north politics is different from they way you see it.
You see buhari cpc caucus the owners of core north politics cant work for Atiku even after death of Buhari cos they dont share same political ideology.infact Atiku presidency is a threat to them cos they dont stand to benefit anything from him. Buhari before leaving have strategically positioned his cpc loyalist everywhere. Even if buhari go to sleep on day of 2023 election atiku aint winning in core north.
You re clown shacheesy atiku doesnt even have political clout sef. If not for pdp atiku cant even see 6milion votes in 2019.
Atiku inherited the political machinery of the major opposition party (PDP) that is what boosted his chances in 2019 not like Atiku add anything to pdp apart from his dollars.
If roles were switched and buhari was pdp candidate and Atiku was the president buhari will defeat him squarely

That guy knows nothing. I don't know how he feels PDP will easily defeat an APC candidate.
whenever you see any of them ask them that simple question and you see the go mute.
Since 4th republic kick started in 1999 PDP has lost 90% of presidential elections in core north (north east and North west region).
They won it convincingly once in 1999 ,and rigged shamelessy in 2007 of which yaradua admitted public .
since then PDP has lost presidential elections in core north woefully in 2003, 2011,2015,2019.
The funny thing is that the political caucus that pdp usually lost to in core north re the one in power currently. And some clowns believe pdp can defeat them due conspiracy theories that plays in their head.
For pdp to get back to power they have to take back south west and north central from Apc and join it with their block votes in south east and south south region then worryless about their nightmare in core north.
Unfortunately this is not going to happen APC is already eating from pdp bloc votes in SS/SE.
And pdp dont have thr political clout to take south west back from APC.
While north central is dead on arrival for them cos they only have one Governor in the region.

I still stand by my words pdp never won core north from 2003 till date. Core North states re 7 north west states , and 6 north west states and they re predominantly muslims.
North central 6 states re mixture of christains and muslims pdp do win here by either 60/40 or 55/45

Check presidential election results from 2003 till date pdp lost in core north. .2007 election was the most fradulent election in history of Nigeria thats why you cant get the accurate figures of election till date. Yardua already admit to the election being fraudulent there is no need to argue back and forth.

Is like you re too dull to understand the meaning of metamorphosecheesy same politicians that were in buhari camp in anpp in 2003 and 2007 are the ones that moved with buhari to form the CPC faction of APC, they re still incharge of core North politics till date contrary to pdp dreamerscheesy

PDP needs to win south west, south east ,south south ,north central and 25% votes in core north to defeat APC.

So how do pdp want to achieve their phantom dream when ACN faction of Apc owns south west Region , ACN +ANPP+CPC faction of Apc owns north centralhuh

The Northern Oligarchs already know APC has no foundation or direction or massive support base after Buhari is gone and there will lot of inevitable and impending courts litigation against APC ahead of the 2023 election, they have realigned and hijacked PDP again , [/b]and checkmated Wike, by giving full backing to Secondus to remain as Chairman.

Goje moving back to PDP is just a teaser, he is moving back to PDP alongside the Governor of Gombe State and the APC political structures in Gombe.

More APC Northern Governors defections to PDP is inevitable in the coming months whether u chose to believe or not, just quote this post by April 2022 in less than 10 months from now.
you re political naive. there was never a time where pdp had control of core north politics. Pdp is just lucky not have a formidable opposition back then which they eventually got in ACN+CPC merger and pdp was eventually kicked out of power.
Check presidential election result from
Core north 2003,2007,2011,2015,2019 it has same semblance meaning pdp lost .
The political party of core north is CPC of which had merger with ACN another western party, literally the two major shareholders of APC.
The owner of core north politics CPC the faction of APC re the incumbent in charge of all Federal might and security apparatus, if pdp cant defeat them when they ruled for 16yrs you should not expect it now when pdp is in shambles.
