What we are seeing today is what happened to some ancient churches some centuries back, when the church started losing credibility, they needed a means of attracting people rather than preaching, so what they did was to introduce music that are entertaining to the church. Then people had a reason to go to church other than preaching: to listen to some live performance and dance or perform. That's the same thing with comedy going to churches now. The funny thing is that they will find a 'biblical reason' why it is not bad. Our religious leaders have long lost the script for christianity and are formulating their own now. |
fergie001:actually, the media is keen in reporting bad news, that's what most pple want to read nowadays |
Those who met with Mr. President onHe was in high spirit and on top of his job yesterday but in low spirit and below his job today? or Why wasn't he present at the FEC meeting today? blueseacats:You are right, Baba Fela was more wise than most of Nigeria's pastors. He could see the corrupt synergy between them and the politicians. Just as what we see today , The pastors will preach that the politicians are corrupt but invite them as 'special guests of honour' to their anniversaries. See this thread here www.nairaland.com/3759319/unknown-enemies-nigeria |
*singing in Fela's song: Arch bishop na miliki Pope na enjoyment Imam na gbaladun ....pastors cloth na im dey fine pass, e hard for my people for them to buy soap. |
The rate at which members of the armed forces misuse the power granted to them in this country is allarming, aren't they supposed to be protecting the life of Nigerians rather than cutting it short? Some of the people in the armed forces joined not because they love to protect Nigerians - not because they are ready to stake their lives for their country men but because they needed a way to own arms and ammunition legally and be respected and feared for it. |
If only we can hold our misleaders responsible like this ![]() |
The problem with people who are religiously fanatic is not that they cannot think, but the deliberate concious effort not to think. ![]() https://assets.ysjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/brain-990x622-300x188.png |

Chai, Kano Emirate dey spend money like a state and this will be part of our National Budget oo. We should scrap all this traditional monarchy. They are just occupying 'ceremonial' positions and chopping our money. Lesson: Try not to offend a politician because they will open up your report card. ![]() |
XerXers:Ok sir. |
XerXers:Sir, not just Tinubu but every politician that has looted this country. The problem with Nigerians is that we look up to the source of our problems has the solution to them. In Baba Fela's voice: "The same old politicians wey ruin Nigeria before, The same old politicians, wey spoil Nigeria before, na all of them dey there now eno finish, eno finish" |
In Nigeria, almost everyone is always complaining about the bad living standards. We all agree we have had series of misLeaders rather than leaders...but there is some hypocrisy going on here. Most Nigerians are pretending. Yes, they are pretending as if those that ruin and are ruining this country are unknown. They say, 'Our Public office holders are corrupt' but they hold people holding these offices in high esteem. The same people that ruined this country are those we wish could grace our parties or anniversaries as 'special guest of honor'. They are the same people we wish we knew so that they could 'connect' us. They are the same people we troop in numbers to protest in support of when they are being prosecuted. They are the same people we think highly of; confering them chieftainship titles. They are the same people we will hold 'Welcome Home Parties' for when they leave public office, for a 'job well done'. They are the same people we will go online to defend. Our politicians are very smart, they know how to loot the wealth of this nation and get Nigerians to defend them. They have successfully planted the seed of Tribalism in us. They will unite together to loot this nation and look up to their tribal or religious brothers and sisters to defend them when they are being prosecuted. We know we have enemies, we know them but pretend not to because they are our 'people'. Until our Politicians know that there is nowhere to hide whem they steal public funds, until they know that 'their people' will not defend them when they are facing the wrath of the law, until they know Nigerians cannot be manipulated accross tribal and religious difference. Until then, we will continue to fight the 'unknown' enemies of Nigeria. Source: http://olusolasblog..co.ke/2017/04/the-unknown-enemies-of-nigeria.html?m=1 cc lalasticlala |
Why are our politicians always using religion to appease to the people? We say these people are corrupt, yet we revere them even in our religious institutions. If not, why should this be news? Hypocrites, that's who we are. |

Good. It's not just enough to reward them but also to protect them. Imagine you blow whistle that someone has illegal arms, the police con search him house and couldn't find it, you don enter gbeke be that. |

CarolineOlawale:This has nothing to do with tribe ma. You didn't choose your tribe yourself, it's by nature. She is the mirror of who you would be if you had pass through the same experience she went through. No hating because she's not of your tribe. In the end, we are all humans. I beg ma. |
