The body of the Managing Director, Fourscore Homes, Femi Osibona, has been recovered in the rubble of the collapsed Ikoyi building.


Fourscore Homes is the firm constructing the 21-storey building which collapsed on Monday, on Gerrard Road in Ikoyi, Lagos.



The National Emergency Management Agency confirmed this to TheCable on Thursday evening after rescuers discovered the body.



So far, authorities have announced 39 recovered bodies from the rubble.

Subject: Kenya confirms in Court that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu did not undergo extradition proceedings in Kenya

On 2nd November 2021, the Government of Kenya filed its defense to the suit I had earlier filed in Kenya on behalf of my brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

It will be recalled that following my brother’s extraordinary rendition in June this year, the Kenyan Government had publicly issued series of statements, denying its complicity in this abominable act.

In the said defense that it filed in Court, Kenya has not only persisted in its denials, but it went further to confirm that my brother was denied the benefit of the due process of extradition in Kenya or even a lawful arrest.

In particular, the defense the Kenyan Government filed in court stated in major part “That there are no extradition proceedings to justify that the Government of Kenya is responsible for the subject’s extradition”.

It further stated “That there is no OB record from any of the Police station within the Country to indicate that the subject in issue was lawfully arrested and detained for purposes of commencing extradition proceedings”.

It needs to be emphasized that above admissions have officially confirmed our long-held position that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s transfer from Kenya to Nigeria is unlawful, not lawful as was claimed by the Nigerian Government.

This latest revelation, officially made in open Court by Kenya, further solidifies our abiding position that the Nigerian Government cannot benefit from its own wrong by subjecting my brother to trial.

indigenes and residents of Mgbidi, Emekuku, Orji, Awo-omama and Owerri in Imo State and Amorka and Ihiala in Anambra State were in a state of confusion when our correspondent visited the areas. They were not happy with the shift in venue of the yearly crusade of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement in the first week of January from the South-East regional headquarters of the church at Umuaguma, Mgbidi to the Ijeshatedo area of Lagos State. They prayed for the change of venue to be reversed to the original venue by the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Lazarus Muoka.

Though no official of the church has admitted it, our correspondent gathered that the prevailing state of insecurity in the entire South-East region might have prompted the general overseer to move the crusade to Lagos as the fair of attacks and kidnapping of worshippers gained ground.
The venue for the crusade in Mgbidi is an expansive one. It is located at Umuaguma Mgbidi, which also accommodates the Chosen International Secondary School.

The Regional Resident Pastor of the church, Victor Chinedu, said the crusade was a four-day event, but could last up to a week as a result of the series of meetings that usually take place after the main events between the many units in the church and the general overseer.
He said the import of the spiritual event was for people to rededicate themselves to their creator at the beginning of each year, noting, “The crusade is a four-day programme. It is always done in the first week of every January of the year. The whole church gathers in Mgbidi in millions to rededicate themselves and dedicate the year to the Almighty.”

Chinedu, however, said the entire branches of the Lord’s Chosen Church in Mgbidi received the announcement of change of venue with mixed feelings.

He also said that the change of venue announced by the founder of the church was spiritual, adding that since he had said it, the congregation had no powers to change it.

The regional resident pastor stated, “Since he (Muoka) has announced it as a man of God, who speaks through the Holy Spirit, we don’t have powers to change it but abide. We shall all prepare to go to Ijeshatedo in Lagos and be part of the crusade in January 2022.
“I cannot tell you the reason for the change. Having been speaking through the Holy Spirit, the reason for the change is best known to the GO. The only advantage to that is that those Christians and members, who have not been to Lagos, will use the opportunity to visit Lagos.”
He, however, prayed for the venue to be changed back to Mgbidi for the people in the area to benefit from the spiritual exercise, adding, “It is not yet concluded that the venue is changed. Believing God, anything can happen on or before January 3, 2022.”
On the acquisition of the large expanse of land at Mgbidi for the crusade, the Vice-Principal (Admin.), Lord’s Chosen International Secondary School, Mr Chris Ochije, said it was the work of the Holy Spirit.

He said, “Pastor Lazarus Muoka is from the Orsu LGA in Imo State and not from Mgbidi. The crusade is all encompassing as it accommodates other Christians apart from Lord’s Chosen adherents. For him to have acquired such an expanse of land in Mgbidi shows that he is a real man of God, who wants to use the land to propagate the word of God.

“The present crusade started as a one-day event, later two days, then three days and finally four days.”
Another pastor and tutor at the secondary school, Ononuju Patrick, stated that the theme of next year’s crusade, ‘What God has determined shall be done’, had been the same since 2015, adding that before 2015, the theme had varied from one year to another.
“As a man of God, Pastor Muoka knows why this theme, which started in 2015, has remained the same. People have benefitted immensely from this theme and the crusade as many cripple had walked, the blind seen and the dumb spoke. As he directs, so we follow,” he added.
The indigenes, especially landlords, were not happy because during the four-day crusade, they usually made huge sums of money as they rented out their apartments to members of the large congregation who partake in the crusade. Food vendors were also not happy for the change, because of the huge sales during the event.

Mechanics described the crusade as another “Christmas” in January as they work on many motor vehicles that break down during the religious festival. Other indigenes and residents are also not happy because Mgbidi bubbles a lot during the event.
Hoteliers are not left out as their turnover will take a huge hit due to the absence of guests to take up the accommodation they offer to people who come from different parts of the country as well as from the United Kingdom, Dubai, France, Australia, Canada and Indonesia, among others, to participate in the spiritual exercise.
A resident of Ihitte Mgbidi, Mrs Jovita Ndimkoha, noted that the shift of venue would negatively affect the people.
Ndimkoha, a mother of four and a widow, said the crusades had in the past helped to better her life and those of her children.
“It is in that crusade that I make money as a food vendor to pay the second and third terms’ school fees of my children. I make a lot of sales during the crusade. But with this change of venue, how will I pay the school fees in 2022?” she queried.
A landlord, Chief Isaac Ndulue, who hails from Umuehi Mgbidi, regretted the change of venue, saying he was renting out accommodation to over 200 persons during the crusade.

“Members of the church always book accommodation ahead of time. I used to charge N5,000 per room for the period of the crusade. With this change in venue, I will lose lots of money and I don’t know when such windfall will come again,” he said ruefully.
A mechanic, Jude Isiocha, a native of Umuadobaihi Ihiala, regretted the change in venue as he used to make a lot of money during the period of the crusade.
He said, “The crusade time is when big Molue buses from Lagos come to the East. Since there are not many that specialise in the repair of that type of motor vehicle, I make a lot of money as many of them spoil. I am always busy during that period.
“Owing to that crusade, I come back from my village immediately on January 2 of every year so as to make money from the Lord’s Chosen congregation.”

For the traditional ruler of Alienyi Mgbidi, Eze Samuel Meghamobi, the change of venue of the crusade is not a step in the right direction.
The monarch said he had over the years benefitted from the crusade, stating, “I love the yearly spiritual exercise. Pastor Lazarus Muoka is a real man of God. Most times, I take my cabinet members to the event and even invite traditional rulers from other communities to attend the crusade. The spiritual exercise in no small measure has helped in the cleansing of Mgbidi land in particular and Imo State at large.
“I am not happy at the way the venue was changed, but Muoka being a man of God, knows why. Though I am not among those who do business or rent out houses during the crusade, the spiritual benefits I get from it are second to none. Even if the venue is changed from Umuaguma Mgbidi to Lagos, I don’t mind going to Lagos to be part of it.”

A hotelier in Owerri, Mr Chima Chukwunyere, said he would lose money as his hotel of many rooms was always filled up during the crusade.

In 2017, Aisha Yerima shocked her family when she willingly returned to Boko Haram captivity after she had been freed by the military.
Four years on and the 30-year-old has now escaped and returned to her parents' home in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state.
She was kidnapped by Boko Haram at the age of 21 from a town south-east of Maiduguri and went on to marry one of the group's commanders, whom she said won her heart with romance and gifts.

He had gone off to battle when the military attacked their camp in the Sambisa Forest, rescuing Aisha and dozens of other wives.
The women were all put through a one-year de-radicalisation programme, but barely four months afterwards, Aisha decided that life with Boko Haram was better.

"It was hard for me to make a living," she told me. "Things were tough and I had to depend on my parents."
She also found it difficult to feed her two-year-old, rescued along with her, the son from her marriage to the commander.
"I phoned my husband and he was very happy to hear from me," said Aisha.

"He told me when next he would be coming to Maiduguri to purchase some fuel and gas, and we agreed that I would join him," she said.
On the agreed day, she left her parents' home with her little son, telling no-one and taking just a few possessions.
Gunfire celebrations

She met her husband at a secluded location and he gave her some money to shop for new clothes. She re-joined him at around 19:30 at a separate location where he was waiting with about 20 militants in a bus.
"They were all heavily armed with guns," she said.

They then began the long drive towards the Sambisa Forest, abandoned the bus at a remote garage from where it was to be picked up by a man from whom the militants had hired it, and continued the rest of the journey on foot.
"When we arrived at our camp in the forest, there was celebration. Everybody was happy to see me back and they were firing guns in the air," she said.

Aisha immediately resumed life as a commander's wife - treated with respect, with other captives assigned to her as slaves, and more than enough for herself and her son to eat.

Shortly after returning, she was glad to discover herself pregnant, but the child died at birth.
When she was two months pregnant with another child, her husband was killed in battle.
The militants believed that her unborn child was entitled to a portion of its father's wealth and so waited until the baby was delivered before dividing the inheritance.

"They wanted to see if it was a boy or girl because a boy is entitled to double the portion of a girl," Aisha explained.
Her baby turned out to be a boy, but tragedy struck again. He died at birth. Aisha was devastated.
Forced to remarry

Her share of the inheritance allowed her to continue to live well - though this made others jealous.
"They started asking why I should be enjoying and living on my own. I didn't want to marry anyone else but they forced me to."
Her new husband was equally wealthy, a businessman responsible for supplying goods to Boko Haram, which entailed regular trips to Maiduguri. When she got pregnant with his child, Aisha was terrified of losing yet another baby in the forest.
"I begged him that we should move to Maiduguri, but he refused," she said.

Her desire to leave became more urgent when the military intensified attacks, with regular bombings that forced the militants and their families to be constantly on the move.

In addition, bitter infighting had led to Boko Haram splintering, with the two factions increasingly attacking each other. Afraid for her life and that of her unborn child, Aisha decided to escape.
At 03:00 one morning in August, she set off into the forest with her son and with two other wives who desired a different life.
But they were all captured along the way by Boko Haram, and returned to their camp. To keep her from attempting to run off again, Aisha's husband and the militants seized her six-year-old and took him away to an unknown location.

"While they were dragging my son away, he was holding on to me and screaming: 'Mama, please, don't leave me here! Please, don't leave me here!'" Aisha said.

For several days, she begged the militants to return him and tried searching for him. It eventually dawned on her that her efforts would be fruitless. She decided to escape without him when another chance came.
Escape and kindness
For a price, a militant who knew a clandestine route through the forest was willing to assist her and more than a dozen other women who wished to flee.

Aisha gave him all the money she had. A week later he led them away from the militants' base, past remote towns and left them at a point where they were able to continue on their own to a military post.
"The soldiers were very kind," Aisha said.
"They praised me for being bold enough to escape and contributed money to put me in a vehicle to take me home to my parents. They didn't think there was any need to escort me."

When they got to Maiduguri, she had to ask the driver to stop so she could call her mother and ask for directions as the city had changed so much in her absence: "There were new flyover bridges and tarred roads everywhere."
The entire family was waiting when the oldest of eight siblings walked through the front gate. They rushed towards Aisha and hugged her.
Everyone had been kind and supportive since she returned, Aisha told me, with some neighbours contributing money for her upkeep. But the baby she gave birth to in early October has died.

So far, Aisha has not heard from the husband she abandoned in the forest. She learnt from some women who escaped more recently that he was apprehended by an opposing faction of Boko Haram, with his fate unknown.
Determined to create a new life for herself, Aisha hopes to raise funds to begin trading in perfume and incense.
"I pray to Allah to rescue my son, but I will never go back to Boko Haram," she said.

Nigerian singer, Temmie Ovwasa, has once again made some allegations against her former record label boss, Olamide, claiming that he ‘messed her mind up’.

During a question and answer session via her Instagram handle, the singer was asked by a fan if she still keeps in touch with the YBNL boss.

In response to the question, the young lady alleged that although Olamide gave a platform, he rejected all the deals and show that she was offered. Ovwasa also alleged that her former boss stopped her from releasing songs.

She claimed, “That man brought me to Lagos from Ilorin as an 18-year-old, put me on a platform then proceeded to reject every show I got, every offer I got. Stopped me from releasing songs, kept me in his house with his wife (who spoke to me like I was garbage in front of her friends) and kid in the name of ‘family’. Put my face on the wall, on an album where the ‘men’ were allowed to be people.

“He messed my mind up then tried to compensate for it. I let it die because I do not enjoy talking to his minions or being associated with them. Why would I be in touch with him? You see all your idols and think everyone should worship them, but forget that they are real people capable of doing real things.”

Replying to another question by a fan who asked, “Would you still love to do a collaboration with Olamide after the whole saga has been resolved,” Ovwasa said she does not want to be associated with men who use their position to hurt others.


The singer said, “My trauma is not a ‘whole saga’. You all forget that people feel things and what might seem like gist to you is actually somebody’s lived reality.

“I don’t crave fame and I do not want to be associated with men who use their positions to hurt others while carefully curating their public presence to reflect values they do not uphold.”

She further hinted at the kind of people she would like to do collaborations with.

“Might seem surprising to you but I do not want to be associated with your faves. They are people of questionable character and I have no space in my life for anything that does not serve me. I have tasted fame, been around multimillionaires and I can tell you for a fact, I don’t rate them.

“I would love to collaborate with women, with artistes from marginalised communities, with nonbinary artistes, queer people; people who can understand art beyond capitalism,” Ovwasa said.
