Health / 11 Proven Health Benefits Of Garlic by osademeoyahoo(m): 8:34pm On Apr 27, 2015
“Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.”

Those are famous words from the ancient Greek physician Hippocrates, often called the father of Western medicine.

He actually used to prescribe garlic to treat a variety of medical conditions.

Well… modern science has recently confirmed many of these beneficial health effects.

Here are 11 health benefits of garlic that are supported by human research studies.
1. Garlic Contains a Compound Called Allicin, Which Has Potent Medicinal Properties

Garlic is a plant in the Allium (onion) family.

It is closely related to onions, shallots and leeks.

It grows in many parts of the world and is a popular ingredient in cooking due to its strong smell and delicious taste.

However, throughout ancient history, the main use of garlic was for its health and medicinal properties (1).

Its use was well documented by all the major civilizations… including the Egyptians, Babylonians, Greeks, Romans and the Chinese (2).

This is what garlic looks like:

The entire “head” is called a garlic bulb, while each segment is called a clove. There are about 10-20 cloves in a single bulb, give or take.

We now know that most of the health effects are caused by one of the sulfur compounds formed when a garlic clove is chopped, crushed or chewed.

This compound is known as allicin, and is also responsible for the distinct garlic smell.

Allicin enters the body from the digestive tract and travels all over the body, where it exerts its potent biological effects (which we’ll get to in a bit).

Bottom Line: Garlic is a plant in the onion family, grown for its cooking properties and health effects. It is high in a sulfur compound called Allicin, which is believed to bring most of the health benefits.

2. Garlic Is Highly Nutritious, But Has Very Few Calories

Calorie for calorie, garlic is incredibly nutritious.

A 1 ounce (28 grams) serving of garlic contains (3):

Manganese: 23% of the RDA.
Vitamin B6: 17% of the RDA.
Vitamin C: 15% of the RDA.
Selenium: 6% of the RDA.
Fiber: 1 gram.
Decent amounts of Calcium, Copper, Potassium, Phosphorus, Iron and Vitamin B1.

Garlic also contains trace amounts of various other nutrients. In fact, it contains a little bit of almost everything we need.

This is coming with 42 calories, with 1.8 grams of protein and 9 grams of carbs.

Bottom Line: Garlic is low in calories and very rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin B6 and Manganese. It also contains trace amounts of various other nutrients.

3. Garlic Can Combat Sickness, Including the Common Cold

Garlic supplementation is known to boost the function of the immune system.

One large 12-week study found that a daily garlic supplement reduced the number of colds by 63% compared with placebo (4).

The average length of cold symptoms was also reduced by 70%, from 5 days in placebo to just 1.5 days in the garlic group.

Another study found that a high dose of garlic extract (2.56 grams per day) can reduce the number of days sick with cold or flu by 61% (5).

If you often get colds, then adding garlic to your diet could be incredibly helpful.

Bottom Line: Garlic supplementation helps to prevent and reduce the severity of common illnesses like the flu and common cold.

4. The Active Compounds in Garlic Can Reduce Blood Pressure

Cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks and strokes are the world’s biggest killers.

High blood pressure, or hypertension, is one of the most important drivers of these diseases.

Human studies have found garlic supplementation to have a significant impact on reducing blood pressure in people with high blood pressure (6, 7, cool.

In one study, aged garlic extract at doses of 600-1,500 mg was just as effective as the drug Atenolol at reducing blood pressure over a 24 week period (9).

Supplement doses must be fairly high to have these desired effects. The amount of allicin needed is equivalent to about four cloves of garlic per day.

Bottom Line: High doses of garlic appear to improve blood pressure of those with known high blood pressure (hypertension). In some instances, supplementation can be as effective as regular medications.

5. Garlic Improves Cholesterol Levels, Which May Lower The Risk of Heart Disease

Garlic can lower Total and LDL cholesterol.

For those with high cholesterol, garlic supplementation appears to reduce total and/or LDL cholesterol by about 10-15% (10, 11, 12).

Looking at LDL (the “bad”) and HDL (the “good”) cholesterol specifically, garlic appears to lower LDL but has no reliable effect on HDL (6, 7, 13, 14, 15).

Garlic does not appear to lower triglyceride levels, another known risk factor for heart disease (10, 12).

Bottom Line: Garlic supplementation seems to reduce total and LDL cholesterol, particularly in those who have high cholesterol. HDL cholesterol and triglycerides do not seem to be affected.

6. Garlic Contains Antioxidants That May Help Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia

Oxidative damage from free radicals contributes to the ageing process.

Garlic contains antioxidants that support the body’s protective mechanisms against oxidative damage (16) .

High doses of garlic supplementation have been shown to increase antioxidant enzymes in humans (5, 17), as well as significantly reduce oxidative stress in those with high blood pressure (6).

The combined effects on reducing cholesterol and blood pressure, as well as the antioxidant properties, may help prevent common brain diseases like Alzheimer’s disease and dementia (17, 18).

Bottom Line: Garlic contains antioxidants that protect against cell damage and ageing. It may reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

7. Garlic May Help You Live Longer

Purple Garlic

Effects on longevity are basically impossible to prove in humans.

But given the beneficial effects on important risk factors like blood pressure, it makes sense that garlic could help you live longer.

The fact that it can fight infectious disease is also an important factor, because these are common causes of death, especially in the elderly or people with dysfunctional immune systems.

Bottom Line: Garlic has known beneficial effects on common causes of chronic disease, so it makes perfect sense that it could help you live longer.

8. Athletic Performance Can be Improved With Garlic Supplementation

Dumbbells

Garlic was one of the earliest “performance enhancing” substances.

It was traditionally used in ancient cultures to reduce fatigue and enhance the work capacity of labourers.

Most notably, it was administered to Olympic athletes in ancient Greece (19).

Rodent studies have shown that garlic helps with exercise performance, but very few human studies have been done.

Subjects with heart disease that took garlic oil for 6 weeks had a reduction in peak heart rate of 12% and improved their exercise capacity (20).

However, a study on nine competitive cyclists found no performance benefits (21).

Other studies suggest that exercise-induced fatigue may be reduced with garlic (2).

Bottom Line: Garlic can improve physical performance in lab animals and people with heart disease. Benefits in healthy people are not yet conclusive.

9. Eating Garlic Can Help Detoxify Heavy Metals in the Body

Garlic With Parsley Leaves

At high doses, the sulfur compounds in garlic have been shown to protect against organ damage from heavy metal toxicity.

A four week study in employees of a car battery plant (excessive exposure to lead) found that garlic reduced lead levels in the blood by 19%. It also reduced many clinical signs of toxicity, including headaches and blood pressure (22).

Three doses of garlic each day even outperformed the drug D-penicillamine in symptom reduction.

Bottom Line: Garlic was shown to significantly reduce lead toxicity and related symptoms in one study.

10. Garlic May Improve Bone Health

Garlic Bulbs

No human trials have measured the effects of garlic on bone loss.

However, rodent studies have shown that it can minimise bone loss by increasing estrogen in females (23, 24, 25, 26).

One study in menopausal women found that a daily dose of dry garlic extract (equal to 2 grams of raw garlic) significantly decreased a marker of estrogen deficiency (27).

This suggests that this garlic may have beneficial effects on bone health in women.

Foods like garlic and onions have also been shown to have beneficial effects on osteoarthritis (28).

Bottom Line: Garlic appears to have some benefits for bone health by increasing estrogen levels in females, but more human studies are needed.

11. Garlic Is Easy to Include In Your Diet and Tastes Absolutely Delicious

Housewife Cooking

The last one is not a health benefit, but still important.

It is the fact that it is very easy (and delicious) to include garlic in your current diet.

It complements most savory dishes, particularly soups and sauces. The strong taste of garlic can also add a punch to otherwise bland recipes.

Garlic comes in several forms, from whole cloves and smooth pastes to powders and supplements like garlic extract and garlic oil.

The minimum effective dose for therapeutic effects is one clove eaten with meals, two or three times a day.

However, keep in mind that there are some downsides to garlic, such as bad breath. There are also some people who are allergic to it.

If you have a bleeding disorder or are taking blood thinning medications, then talk to your doctor before increasing your garlic consumption.

The active compound allicin only forms when garlic is crushed or cleaved when it is raw. If you cook it before crushing it, then it won’t have the same health effects.

Therefore, the best way to consume garlic is raw, or to crush and cut it and leave it out for a while before you add it to your recipes.

My favorite way to use garlic is to press a few cloves of fresh garlic with a garlic press, then mix with extra virgin olive oil and a bit of salt. This a healthy and super satisfying dressing.
12. Anything Else?

For thousands of years, garlic was believed to have medicinal properties. We now have the science to confirm it.

Health / Foods To Boost Male Health by osademeoyahoo(m): 2:13pm On Nov 24, 2014
Lean Red Meat

If you're a steak-and-potatoes guy, you're in luck. Red meat can be good for you, says Leslie Bonci, MPH, RD, a dietitian for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lean cuts of beef and pork are packed with protein and have only a little more fat than chicken breast. Red meat is also a good source of leucine, an amino acid that helps build muscle.

Tart Cherries

How do the Pittsburgh Steelers soothe sore muscles? Cherry juice. Bonci says she keeps some in their training room at all times. "The pigment in cherries and cherry juice mimics the effects of some anti-inflammatory medicines," says Bonci. "And there are no side effects."

Chocolate

Chocolate may improve blood flow if you eat the right kind. The flavanols in dark chocolate may curb levels of bad cholesterol, improve circulation, and keep blood pressure in check. Men with poor blood flow are more likely to have erection problems, so heart-wise foods may protect your sex life, too. But too much chocolate can lead to weight gain. Enjoy 1 ounce a day instead of other sweets.

Shellfish

Shellfish and other types of seafood are rich in zinc, which is critically important for the heart, muscles, and reproductive system. Zinc levels below normal are linked to poor sperm quality and male infertility. Not fond of seafood? Beef, turkey, chicken, nuts, and seeds offer a healthy dose of zinc, too.

Avocado

Sure, this creamy fruit is high in fat, but it's the good kind. The monounsaturated fat in avocados packs a one-two punch against cholesterol. It can knock down total cholesterol and "bad" cholesterol (LDL), too. The trick is to use a "mono" fat instead of saturated or trans fats. And eat no more than 25%-35% of all your calories from fat. Olive oil and nuts also contain good fats.

Fatty Fish

Fatty fish like salmon, herring, sardines, and halibut are another excellent source of healthy fat. They have a special type known as omega-3 fatty acids. These protect against heart disease, the top killer of men in the U. S. Two servings of fatty fish a week can lower your chances of dying from heart disease.

Ginger

Slices of this spicy root are often served with sushi or grated into an Asian stir-fry. Health-wise, ginger may help calm inflammation in the body -- which can come in handy when you push yourself too hard. Eating ginger regularly may help reduce the pain of exercise-related muscle injuries.

Milk and Yogurt

The whey in milk and yogurt is another source of leucine, a muscle-building amino acid. Bonci recommends Greek yogurt, with a thick, creamy taste that men may like better. It's also packed with protein, potassium, and friendly bacteria that keep the gut healthy. "Plus, it requires no preparation whatsoever."

Bananas

The banana is celebrated for its bounty of potassium -- and with good reason. Potassium is critical for muscle contractions and bone health. It also helps blood pressure. Getting enough potassium may be as important as eating less sodium when it comes to lowering blood pressure.

Pistachios

Nuts provide protein, fiber, and zinc while satisfying the urge for a crunchy, salty snack. Pistachios are a stand out -- higher in plant sterols that can improve cholesterol levels. Eat them from the shell, so you work harder for each one. It's a fun way to snack and keeps you from gobbling up too many calories too quickly.

Brazil Nuts

A single ounce of Brazil nuts has seven times the daily value of selenium. This mineral boosts the immune system and helps the thyroid gland.

Tomato Sauce

Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, a substance that may protect against some cancers. Some research suggests that men who eat tomato sauce regularly are less likely to get prostate cancer, but not all studies support this. Tomatoes have many other plant nutrients, too, that support good health. Adding salsa to a burrito or tomato sauce to pasta is an easy way to make a meal more nutritious.

Soy Foods

The food that offers the best protection against prostate cancer may be soy. That's the finding from a study of 40 nations. Tofu, miso soup, and soy milk are all delicious ways to eat more soy. In Asian countries, people eat up to 90 times more soy foods than Americans eat. And prostate cancer is far less common in those countries.

Mixed Vegetables

Vegetables are packed with phytochemicals, nutrients that boost cell health and protect against cancer. There are many different phytochemicals, and the best way to get a variety of them is to eat different colored veggies. "There should be color on your plate at every meal," Bonci says.

Orange Vegetables

Orange vegetables are an excellent source of beta-carotene, lutein, and vitamin C. These nutrients may lower your odds of developing an enlarged prostate, according to a large study. Good choices include red bell peppers, carrots, pumpkins, and sweet potatoes.

Leafy Green Vegetables

Spinach, collard greens, and kale can help the eyes as well as the prostate. These leafy green vegetables have plenty of lutein and zeaxanthin. Both nutrients protect against cataracts and age-related macular degeneration, an eye disease that impairs vision.

Eggs

Eggs provide lutein, protein, and iron, but you have to eat the whole egg. One yolk, with 185 mg of cholesterol, fits into the 300 mg daily limit for healthy people. You might also cut back on high-cholesterol sweets to make room for whole eggs in your diet. If you have high cholesterol, ask your doctor if you should limit how many eggs you eat per week.

High-Fiber Cereal

Fiber may not sound manly, but it can be a performance enhancer. Executive or athlete, you can't focus on your goals if your gut is acting up. Fiber keeps you full longer and helps your digestive system run smoothly. This doesn't mean you have to give up your favorite cereal -- just try mixing in some shredded wheat. "Don't deprive yourself," Bonci advises, "but add something good."

Brown Rice

Brown rice is another great source of fiber, and it's easy to dress up with tasty, colorful food. Try adding lean meat, baby spinach, and pineapple. If you don't like the texture, mix some white rice with the brown. Brown rice and other whole grains can help you stay at a healthy weight and lower your risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Berries

"Berries can help you be on top of your game mentally as well as physically," Bonci says. They're loaded with antioxidants that may help lower the risk of cancer. Animal studies suggest blueberries can also enhance memory and thinking. Similar research in people is in its infancy, but looks promising. When fresh berries are expensive or tough to find, try buying them frozen and making a shake.

Coffee

When you need a pick-me-up, Bonci recommends making a good old-fashioned cup of joe. Research shows it can make you more alert, and plain coffee has almost no calories. This makes it a far better choice than expensive, high-calorie energy drinks.

Focus on the Good Stuff

To change your diet, add good foods rather than denying yourself bad ones. As you get used to eating more fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains, these foods may come to replace some of the less healthy choices. Dietitian Bonci offers a sports metaphor to sum up the benefits: You'll play better today and stay in the game longer.

Health / Sex-drive Killer: Stress by osademeoyahoo(m): 3:12am On Aug 31, 2014
The body does not react well to stress. Emotional stress may affect physical function, including sexual desire and performance. Realizing what underlying stressors may exist is the first step in treatment. Self-help may work but some people may need to visit a counselor or doctor.

ex-Drive Killer: Partner
Sexual desire requires two to tango. Both partners need to feel connected and women especially need the feeling of being close. Poor communications, a sense of betrayal, lack of trust, and repeated fighting and criticism may create a relationship that lacks closeness and intimacy. Counseling may be the answer if couples find that the issues are too tough to resolve on their own

Sex-Drive Killer: Alcohol
Alcohol is usually not the answer to any problem. While alcohol may decrease inhibitions, it also decreases sexual performance and libido. Your partner may not appreciate a drunken advance and may be turned off by it. Alcohol is an addictive drug and you may need help to quit.

Sex-Drive Killer: Too Little Sleep
As with any physical activity, a rested body increases performance. Lack of sleep, including lack of proper sleep, may be the culprit that decreases sex drive. Sleep apnea is a potential cause for lack of good sleep and lack of libido. Medical help may be needed if you or your partner suspect it.

Sex-Drive Killer: Having Kids
Being a parent is a full-time job and you need carve out time without a child or baby around. Planning quiet time for intimacy and sexual desire may require some creative thinking, like having sex when the baby naps, or hiring a babysitter so mom and dad can have a play date.

Sex-Drive Killer: Medication
Side effects of many prescription medications include loss of libido and sex drive. Some examples include:
High blood pressure medications including water pills and beta blockers
Cold medications that contain antihistamines and decongestants
Antidepressants
Birth control pills
Narcotic pain pills
Chemotherapy drugs
If this is the cause, your doctor may be able to suggest a medication alternative that might have fewer side effects.

Sex Drive Killer: Poor Body Image
Sexy is as sexy feels. Many people have low self-esteem when it comes to their body shape and this can affect their sex drive and desire. Being happy with yourself is an important first step. A supportive partner always helps.

Sex-Drive Killer: Obesity
Obesity affects one-third of all Americans and being overweight can limit desire because of decreased sexual enjoyment, lack of performance, and poor self-esteem. How you feel about yourself goes a long way in affecting how you enjoy sex. Counseling may be helpful.

Sex-Drive Killer: Erection Problems
Erectile dysfunction (ED) can not only affect the ability to have intercourse but also how a man feels about his ability to perform. There are many options available to treat ED and your doctor can help find the option that is best for you and your partner.

Sex-Drive Killer: Low T
While a man's testosterone level gradually falls with aging, there is not necessarily any relationship between hormone levels and the desire for sex. It is just one potential cause for decreased libido and your doctor may want to look for other causes in addition to just low testosterone (“low T”).

Sex-Drive Killer: Depression
Depression affects all facets of life including sex drive. Losing pleasure in daily activities often requires treatment including counseling and perhaps medication. Unfortunately, some antidepressants also depress libido. Your doctor and therapist need to know if low sex drive is one of your symptoms of depression.

Sex-Drive Killer: Menopause
Menopause may cause physical changes that affect intercourse, including vaginal dryness and pain with intercourse (dyspareunia). Treatments are available to enhance sexual desire and function after menopause.

Sex-Drive Killer: Lack of Closeness
Making love is more than just sex. Intimacy and closeness are important part of a health love life. If sexual desire is waning, it may be time to inject romance back in the relationship. Snuggling, giving each other massages and spending casual time together may help ignite that spark.

Health / How To Improve Your Overall Immune System Health Performance by osademeoyahoo(m): 6:10pm On Aug 11, 2014
Hi, with the Ebola Virus nightmare I believe you should read this article.

Having extra knowledge would bring us a step ahead in being a healthier person with a better lifestyle. Here are some tips that you can practice and use to enhance your immune system health performance.

1) Be Cautious of the Air You Inhale
Try as best as possible to breathe in fresh air as oxygen is vital in cell regeneration and assists the body health functions including improving your immune system performance. Avoid contaminated air such as smoke and fumes from cigarettes, vehicles and other sources of polluted air.

2) Prefer a Balanced Diet
Try to choose diets that are high with vegetables and fruits as it contain antioxidants that prevent free radicals from damaging cells and accelerate aging process. Also choose diets that are rich in minerals and vitamins and low in fat and sugar. Take at least eight glasses of water everyday as it is essential in flushing toxins and wastes from the body,

3) Avoid Stress
According to studies shown that people who are suffering from stress or depression will have lowered resistance to illness and are much more likely to become ill than others. Find activities that you like to do and take breaks in your hectic life. Most important is that when you do the activities, let all your stress out. Enjoy yourself, always think positive, be always relax and have adequate rest.

4) Practice Exercise Regularly
At present, major forms of entertainment can be found in mostly every home, with internet popularity containing games and social net workings and televisions cable lines providing entertaining programs. These changes in the day to day life events has resulted to the lack of exercise to most people and have been influential in affecting the immune system in a very harmful way. Therefore try to squeeze your time to do brisk walking, swimming, playing balls and other activities that can be considered as exercises.

5) Taking Your Supplements and Nutrition
There are excellent alternatives to Pharmaceutical anti viral drugs being recommended by Center of Disease Control that has an added benefit over and above the pharmaceutical drugs. A healthy diet and lifestyle combined with herbs based antibiotics and support nutrition can build a strong immune system against common cold and flu virus and also to other various infections. Many herbal supplements have natural antibiotic properties along with the capacity to entice up your immune system's health.

Other major factors that weaken the overall immune health performance and could also cause long term harm to health are depression, physical or emotional stress, alcoholism, abusive usage of drugs, insufficient sleep and physically unfit body. A viable indicator that our immune system is strong enough is that we don't often fall to infections and the body is strong enough to fight disease on its own.

It is better to have a long term aim in your diet and daily healthy routine cycle for a healthy immune system. Practicing the diet regularly will improve the life quality; strengthen the body, improves overall immune system health performance and builds an optimal immune health functions.
Health / How To Heal From Cancer By Building Your Immune System by osademeoyahoo(m): 5:57pm On Aug 11, 2014
As a skin cancer survivor turned cancer survivor speaker and cancer support expert, I know that cancer can be healed and recurrences prevented. There are natural cancer treatments that include at their core the building up of the immune system.

You can heal by accessing the power of your immune system. You MUST build your immune system to fight the cancer cells. If you have cancer your immune system was weak or worn out and unable to fight the cancer cells. You can build your immune system with whole food supplements, organic foods and drinks, herbs, teas, etc.

Despite what orthodox medical "experts" continue to want to believe and have us believe, cancer is unnatural and preventable. Lifestyle, environment and diet, and not bad luck or bad genetics, are the usual culprits for those who suffer from cancer. Natural cancer treatments; alternative, complementary, and integrative medicines; and respect for the reality of the body-mind-spirit interconnection are always methods of cancer healing that should be tried before or along with synthetic drugs or radiation treatments. Chemo and radiation have terrible side effects and destroy the immune system the very thing you must have to survive cancer.

The human immune system by its nature, except in people who were born with a congenital problem, is powerful enough to cure and prevent future cancer. However, in the vast majority of people in the modernized world the immune system has been compromised. This leads not only to premature aging, possible sexual problems, heart disease, and weight gain problems, but to cancer as well.

One thing that open-minded research scientists in the field of Glycobiology have found is that cancer can be prevented by the ingestion of long chain carbohydrates; and the best supplement to take to get these long chain carbohydrates into the body seems to be processed aloe vera.

One leading Glycobiological researcher, Dr. Danhof, has written: "The Aloe Vera MPS is a long chain sugar molecule composed of individual sugar molecules connected together in long linear chains. There is wide range in the size of the MPS molecule. The varying sizes determine their healing properties...[Very large size molecules act as] immune system enhancement...The very large molecules are immune modulating, which has a powerful healing effect on ...cancer...The MPS molecule activates the Macrophage directly and through the liver to produce a cascade of healing effects: increases phagocytosis by the macrophage to engulf and destroy infected cells and damaged cells (the garbage eater in the body); increases interleukin and interferon levels in the body, which then increases the number and response of T-Cells and Monocytes...MPS also causes the body to produce tumor necrosis factor that destroys tumors by shutting off their blood supply."

Thus among the natural cancer treatments that one should try, an Aloe Vera MPS supplement stands out. There are more and more of these supplements on the market as research continues to show their effectiveness and smaller pharmaceutical companies who don't have to worry about losing billions of dollars on a failed R&grin program boldly create variations on the theme.

Another powerful immune system bolstering natural supplement is the Agaricus Blazei mushroom, first discovered 115 years ago and then rediscovered in the 1970s in Brazil. Known by growers as "the king of mushrooms" or "the mushroom of life," Agaricus Blazei has been demonstrated to reduce the symptoms of cancer in cancer patients in clinical trials.

What are some other ways of bolstering the immune system? Basic, elemental things that anyone can do include drinking herbal teas or take herbal supplements (and you can research different ones first to determine if any are particularly good for cancer); eat lots of protein; get plenty of regular aerobic exercise, especially outdoors (including in cold weather, which can actually make you healthier); get six to eight hours of restful sleep every night; eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables (and don't cook your veggies above 108° F, because if you do you kill their vital enzymes); eat a lot of fiber (35mg per day is recommended); cut out the white sugar and high fructose corn syrup; and make sure you stay hydrated (especially important if you drink coffee or alcohol regularly).

Health / How To Delay Ejaculation To Last Longer In Bed by osademeoyahoo(m): 3:13pm On Aug 08, 2014
Learn to delay ejaculation and last longer in bed by trying these simple tips to delay and prolong ejaculation. This will enable you and your partner to enjoy a healthy s*x life.

Kegel exercises - Kegel exercises can help you prolong ejaculation. Kegels are those muscles that you use for controlling urination. So, flex these muscles about 30 times a day to delay ejaculation.

Squeeze technique - Prolong ejaculation and delay it by holding the tip of the head of the man-hood. Squeezing the tip of the man-hood can help control premature ejaculation.

Testes - The scrotum rises as a man reaches climax and is on the verge of ejaculation. So, delay ejaculation by pulling the scrotum away from the body.

Change focus - Rather than concentrating on ejaculation, concentrate on your partner’s pleasure.
Combination of thrusts - Delay ejaculation or male climax by combining shallow thrusts with deep thrusts. This technique helps prolong ejaculation and will make you last longer in bed.
Massage the prostate gland - When you practice delaying ejaculation, the prostate gland turns sore. Hence it is important to massage the gland to prevent any kind of pain.

Perineum pressure - Delay ejaculation by applying pressure to the perineum, which is the spot between the anus and scrotum. The prostate gland expands and contracts while reaching climax or ejaculation. So, by applying pressure on this spot, one can prolong ejaculation.

Pelvic muscles - Squeeze the pubococcygeous muscle to stop ejaculating. Contract these muscles, which are used for controlling urine; doing so regularly helps you delay ejaculation.

Blueberries - This berry is known to delay ejaculation, as it relaxes the nerves in the man-hood.
Woman-on-top - This s*x position reduces your chances of premature ejaculation, thereby helping you last longer in bed. Switch to the woman-on-top s*x position to delay ejaculation.

Start and stop - When you have the urge to release, stop, pull out and then thrust again. Also, the start and stop method helps a couple to last longer in bed and enjoy the full s*xual experience.
self service - self service can help you prolong s*x, so delay ejaculation by self servicing at least an hour before intercourse.

Control your climax - Without any lubrication self service to the point of climax and stop. Do it a couple of times and then release; over a period of time you can control ejaculation.

Before engaging in intercourse, engage in pre-intimacy – ask your partner to gently massage the man-hood along with lubrication. In time this method can help you prolong ejaculation.

Health / 5 Things You Should Know About Vitamin D Deficiency by osademeoyahoo(m): 12:01pm On Jul 29, 2014
coolImagine there were a nutrient that could protect your bones, brain and heart, and maybe even help you live longer. It's 100 percent free, and all you have to do to get it is go outside. Seems like something everyone would have plenty of, right? Well, that nutrient exists -- it's vitamin D, which is created by our cells when our skin is exposed to sunlight. But despite these facts, many Americans aren't getting as much of the "sunshine vitamin" as they should. Here's what you need to know about vitamin D, and how inadequate levels can affect your health.

Why Your Body Needs Vitamin D
Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium, which is vital for forming and maintaining strong bones and teeth. Research has also shown that vitamin D acts similarly to a hormone in the body and may play a role in regulating blood pressure, weight and mood. One recent study even suggests that having adequate levels can protect against early fatalities from conditions like cancer and heart disease.

When adults don't get enough vitamin D, they can suffer from osteomalacia (a softening of the bones), osteoporosis, bone pain or muscle weakness.

Vitamin D is also a key component in brain development, and a deficiency may contribute to low energy or depressive symptoms, says Jim White, RD, owner of Jim White Fitness and Nutrition Studios in Virginia Beach.

1. Sunlight is the best source.
The body can make its own vitamin D, but only when skin is exposed to sunlight. For most people, spending just five to 30 minutes outside twice a week is enough for the body to synthesize healthy levels of vitamin D. The sun needs to shine on bare skin on your face, arms or legs, without sunscreen. (Keep in mind, exposing your skin to UVA and UVB rays for any amount of time can increase your chances of skin damage and melanoma.)

But those people who don't spend time outdoors, live far from the equator, have dark skin or use sunscreen every time they go out may not be able to produce the same quantity of vitamin D. Many people also have lower levels in cold-weather months, when most of us are spending less time outdoors.

2. Fortified foods can help, too.
Although most of our vitamin D comes from the sun, we can also get a substantial amount from food. Fatty fish (including herring, mackerel, sardines and tuna) and eggs contain vitamin D naturally, and many juices, dairy products and cereals are fortified with the vitamin, as well.

It's probably not possible to get the full, recommended amount of vitamin D -- 600 IU for adults up to age 70 -- from dietary sources alone, says Smith. "It's not found naturally in many foods, and even those that do have it don't contain nearly enough to meet the body's needs," he explains. "Vitamin D must come from multiple sources including diet, sunlight and sometimes supplements."

3. Vitamin D may improve athletic performance.
A recent review published in the American College of Sports Medicine's Health & Fitness Journal concluded that people who are deficient in vitamin D may have compromised fitness levels. Studies have found, for example, that athletes could jump higher or sprint faster after they took supplements for several weeks or months.

But more is not always better, the review cautions: If you already have healthy levels of vitamin D, taking a supplement probably won't have an impact on your strength, speed or athleticism.

4. There's a good chance your levels are low.
Extreme vitamin D deficiency -- defined as less than 12 nanograms of vitamin D per milliliter of blood -- is rare in the United States, but people who follow a strict vegan diet or have dairy allergies are at risk since they are not eating foods (like fish, eggs and milk) with naturally occurring or added vitamin D. Age and weight also play a factor in deficiency, says White. "As we get older and our kidneys become weaker, they may not be able to convert enough vitamin D into the active form that our bodies can use." Obesity can also lead to a deficiency, he adds, as the nutrient is leached out of the blood by body fat.

While most of us aren't dangerously low on vitamin D, we don't all have ideal levels, either. Current guidelines recommend that adults have at least 20 nanograms of vitamin D per milliliter of blood, says White, although 30 is an even better number for optimal bone and muscle health. Most Americans get close to meeting this guideline, but about two-thirds of us fall slightly short -- especially in the winter when we're not outside regularly.

5. A supplement may improve your health ... or it may not.
A 2013 study from the University of Auckland in New Zealand found that many adults who took vitamin D pills to help prevent osteoporosis didn't actually reap significant bone-building benefits. Still, White suggests that people who are vegan, live in northern areas, have dark skin, are over 50 or who are overweight should consider taking a supplement, since they are more likely to be deficient.

If you suspect you might be low on D, talk to your doctor. He or she may want to give you a blood test to check your levels -- although a recent government initiative recommended against routine vitamin D screenings, since there's no consensus in the medical community on how helpful they really are. "I recommend that healthy adults get screened less frequently than those adults who are not as healthy," says Smith.

The bottom line: Whether you take a supplement should be a decision you make with your doctor, based on your individual risk factors and any symptoms you may be experiencing.
Health / Health Benefits Of Soya by osademeoyahoo(m): 5:27pm On Jul 11, 2014
Soybean is hailed as the most protective bean. Soy contains 40 percent protein. It has the highest protein content amongst plant products. “Soy protein” refers to the protein found in soybeans. As animal protein contains all the essential amino acids, lacking in pulse protein, soy is often used to replace the animal proteins in an individual's diet. Soybean is the only vegetable food that contains all eight essential amino acids. Soyabeans are processed to various soya products namely soy flour, soy milk, cottage cheese like tofu, fermented products like tempeh and miso.

Macronutrients-

Protein
Soyabean is the richest plant source of protein. It contains 43 percent protein as compared to other legumes which contain 20 to 25 percent protein. Soy protein is also of the highest quality amongst all legumes. Under guidelines adopted by the Food and Drug Administration and the World Health Organization for evaluating protein quality for children and adults, soy protein isolate receives a rating of 1, which is the highest possible score. This means that the quality of soy protein is equal to that of meat and milk proteins.

Most plant proteins are considered "incomplete" proteins because they are low in one or more essential amino acids. Levels of one amino acid or another are insufficient for human needs. Grains are typically low in lysine; beans are typically low in the sulfur amino acids, methionine and cysteine. However, the level of sulfur amino acids in soybeans is higher than in other beans, and therefore soy protein is equivalent to animal protein in quality.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Food and Drug Administration use an alternative method for evaluating protein quality called the protein digestibility corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS). The PDCAAS for soy protein isolate is 1.0, which makes soy equivalent to animal proteins in quality and higher than other plant proteins foods. Soy foods if used smartly contribute significantly toward meeting protein needs, and could be an excellent addition to a diet for a variety of reasons.

Fat
Like protein soybeans are high in fat too. Most legumes (except peanuts) contain between 2 to 14 percent fat, whereas soybean contains 19 percent fat.

At the same time, most of the fat in soybeans is unsaturated and beneficial. Polyunsaturated, monounsaturated and saturated fats make up 63 percent, 23 percent, and 14 percent respectively of the fat in soybeans with saturated fat being the lowest. The polyunsaturated fat content of soybean includes linolenic acid or Omega-3 fatty acid. The presence of omega–3 fats makes it special as soybeans are one of the very few plant sources of this essential fatty acid. Omega-3 fatty acids form an essential nutrient which helps to reduce risk of both heart disease and cancer.

Soybean oil can be used in cooking. Some soy foods have the fat removed. Defatted soy flour is commonly available. Reduced-fat tofu and reduced or non-fat soymilk also form some low fat alternatives.

Fiber
A serving of soybeans provides approximately eight grams of dietary fiber. However, some soy foods are processed in ways that decrease the fiber content significantly. Tofu and soymilk contain very little fiber, while soy foods that utilize the whole bean such as tempeh, soy flour and textured soy protein are high in fiber.

Micronutrients-

Calcium
Soy foods are a good source of calcium in comparison to the commonly used legumes. Processing affects the calcium content of soyfoods considerably. Tofu due to its processing methods can contain between 120 and 750 mg of calcium per 1/2 cup serving. Soymilk contains around 93 mg of calcium per one cup serving. The calcium-fortified soymilk could often contain between 200 and 300 mg of calcium per serving and a good amount of vitamin D.

Although soyfoods are high in both oxalates and phytates that inhibit calcium absorption, the calcium from soyfoods is well absorbed and has an absorption rate equal to that of milk.

Iron
Soya is rich in iron too. However, both phytate and soy protein reduce iron absorption which leads to the iron in soyfoods being poorly absorbed. Iron could be better absorbed from fermented soyfoods like tempeh and miso.

Other nutrients-
Like other whole grains, soyfoods are rich in B-vitamins, particularly niacin, pyridoxine and folacin. Soymilk is well fortified with vitamin B12 which makes it a prominent source of this essential nutrient

Health / Ways On How To Solve Back Pain by osademeoyahoo(m): 12:13pm On Dec 06, 2013
:D1. Move More!
Raise your hand if you've been sitting at your computer for hours leading up to reading this post. I think most of my readers can raise their hand (I can, too, for today anyway). Our fascia (aka connective tissue) is one of the most sensory dense systems in our body. It houses all kinds of receptors that detect stretch, load, vibration and pressure, and pain. The thing is, if there is no movement in the body, there is no signal communicated to the brain and the soft tissues that is necessary for correct muscle activation. Meaning: no movement, no signal, no change. If no change is indicated, the body learns that the body's current position is where it should stay, and will reset the new "normal" length of the tissues. When you go to move after being sedentary for a long time, the sensors that detect stretch, for instance, say, "Whoa! That's further than we're used to! Put the brakes on and stop it before it's too much!" What this means to you is limited, inefficient movement, and potentially pain.

Taking frequent breaks (yeah, I know you've heard this a million times, but do you do it?) can be really helpful. Moving your body gives it information that it can use to coordinate the appropriate responses, helping you stay in better balance and feeling good. Move however feels good to you, whether it be walking, stretching, yoga, sport of some kind, dancing... it's all good. Just MOVE! Tell your boss I gave you permission to take breaks... I'll take the blame, it's okay.
2. The Problem May Not Be Where You Think It Is
If you think the solution to your low back pain is strictly addressing your back itself, you're not alone. Most people think this. The truth is, though, we have to think (and treat) with a much broader lens. In my experience, often the problem is not in the back itself, which is why getting your back rubbed for an hour will feel good, but only gives you very short term relief. Quite often there are other things that are causing the problem, and it's often from the front of your body! That's right: the FRONT!

The hip flexors (among some other ones that I like to address, but will attempt to keep this short and simple) are often a key player in chronic low back pain. There are two main hip flexors: the iliacus and the psoas. Often these are combined together as the "iliopsoas." They are all one in the same, fascially speaking (they are part of the same fascial continuity). The psoas (pronounced "so-as"wink runs from the upper part of your thigh bone to your lumbar spine (which are your lower-most 5 vertebrae).

Particularly for people who sit for long durations, these can be stuck "short." Remember that no movement = no info = stay the same piece I just mentioned? Well, those hip flexors find a new "normal" resting length in a shortened position. One of two things then happens: the pelvis tilts forward (like your sticking your butt out and arching your back), or the lumbar (low) spine gets pulled down and forward, creating a lot of potentially painful compression in your low back. Owww! So when you try to stand up tall and straight, it makes this really hard because those stretch receptors fire and say, "STOP!"

Don't worry: not all hope is lost! After you've taken your break to get up and MOVE, take a minute or two to stretch out these hip flexors. There are different variations,, but please pay attention to your body and back off or seek out some professional stretching coaching if you have sharp pain (some discomfort is okay, so long as you can breathe and relax into it). Here is one stretch idea: kneel on the floor (you may place a towel under your knees if you need some cushioning). Take a big step forward with one foot, making sure that your ankle is forward of your knee. Allow the hips to shift forward toward and let the opposite hip just sink toward the floor (so it's heading both forward and down). You may feel this into the thigh of the leg that is on the ground. That is fine (remember that the hip flexors connect into the upper thigh). This might be more than enough for you, but if you want more sensation and a deeper stretch, look up toward the ceiling and add a little back bend, reaching the arms up to the ceiling as you do so.

3. Get an Intervention
Stretching is great, but it usually isn't enough to create the lasting change and relief you're seeking. An intervention is needed (aka my hands!). The bodywork (manual therapy) I do can help! As I mentioned, other things in your body might also be contributing to your back pain. I look at what's happening in your feet, legs, pelvis and spine so we can address the bigger picture for long-term relief. Remember that your body isn't just a bunch of parts put together, but rather a whole connected system that is not separate until something is cut to make it so. Let's look at all of you so you get the most benefit.

Health / Autism by osademeoyahoo(m): 5:23pm On Dec 03, 2013
First, let's make it clear that Autism is not a disease. Autism is defined as a complex developmental disability where signs of this disorder appear anywhere between birth and three years of age. In my personal experience with Autism, my son who is now seven years old was developing quite well for his age until he was about two years old. We started seeing a decline in my son's development that mostly affected his ability to communicate and interact with his family on a daily basis.

When you are a new mom, you tend to just brush these symptoms off as a child developing slower than usual and assume that he or she will catch up later. The danger in this type of thinking is, if you wait to get your child screened the services and resources available to you become limited. As a mom it is important to trust your instinct and have your little one seen by a Pediatrician if you suspect your child has Autism.
It is important to also know that Autism is not a mental disability. It is very easy for people in our society to see a child on the Autism Spectrum and give them a diagnosis of mental instability or retardation. Mental retardation is mostly connected to an inability to learn or develop. Autism is about communication and social behaviors. A child with Autism can learn but often times are not able to convey what they have learned or even understood. In most cases, children with Autism learn and need to be taught in a different way altogether.

I have had many conversations with my children's teachers and explained one simple fact, Autistic children learn in a different way. Meaning, these little ones have trouble connecting the dots and learning in a traditional classroom is often very difficult. With that said, it is important that you work with your local school district to plan a IEP (Individualized Education Plan) that speaks to what your child needs in order to be successful.

Last but not least, Autism is not a life sentence. You've just received a diagnoses and it's devastating I know. I've been there but it is not the end of the story. There are many treatments available to your child such as speech, occupational and applied behavior therapies that are available to you. When intervention starts early your child has a remarkable chance to succeed in society.

It's important to gather information so you know what your options are especially in your state. I would start by researching information on Autism via the internet and checking out websites such as http://www.autismspeaks.org and http://www.autism-society.org.

These websites both have a lot of information that will be helpful to you. As mentioned earlier, if you suspect your child has Autism make an appointment with your Pediatrician so your child can be evaluation as soon as possible. Don't Wait!

A good next step would be to contact your local school district to find out when and where they are conducting screenings if you suspect a delay in communication, social or physical skills in your child. Furthermore, make inquiries with your family. Use your internal network of friends and ask questions. You would be surprised how many families are affected by Autism and their stories can be of much more value when it is personal and coming from the heart. Finally, do plenty of research and go on a fact finding mission. There are plenty of books and resources available for your family that will help you cope and deal with Autism.

Health / New Approaches In HIV Cure Research by osademeoyahoo(m): 4:38pm On Nov 30, 2013
:DThere has been much discussion in the HIV research community about the ways to find a cure for the disease. While current medical technology has been effective at keeping the virus suppressed temporarily, stopping antiretroviral therapy (ART), for example, just creates the perfect environment for the remaining virus to proliferate. These HIV reservoirs, as they're called, are seen as the last hiding places for HIV in the body, and the key to finding a functional cure lies within them. It seems that a sterilizing cure will remain elusive for the time being, however. Let's discuss four of the approaches being tested to find a functional cure for HIV.

The first is intensifying the treatment on the residual virus within the body-the HIV reservoirs. However, a couple of recent studies showed that there was no discernible benefit for doing so, since there was no noticeable decline in the quantity of residual HIV remaining in the body. Early treatment is another option. In this approach, treatment is started as soon as a person is diagnosed as HIV positive. Several studies have indicated that the number of infected cells is lower when early treatment is initiated rather than further along in the process of chronic infection.

The elimination of infected T cells is one of the most interesting approaches, mainly because it deals with one of the HIV reservoir sources.
Latently infected cells are dormant; that is, they're "turned off," and antiretroviral drugs won't be able to detect these cells. In order to eliminate these infected cells, they're treated with drugs designed to turn the cells "on," and make them detectable to antiretroviral drugs. The thought process behind this is to make more cells active, which thereby reduces the number of HIV reservoirs in the body, which subsequently reduces the viral load to a level that the immune system can eventually suppress on its own without the help of ART-in effect, a functional HIV cure.

Zinc finger nucleases are another approach being thought of. Treating uninfected cells with genetic modification to make them resistant to HIV infection is a major step. The idea comes from a very rare anomaly that less than 2% of the world's population has-a genetic defect that makes interferes with the CCR5 receptor, the main point of entry for HIV into the cells. This defect makes it very difficult for HIV to enter cells. Mimicking this genetic defect can make the body resistant to HIV infection in general, which could lay the ground work for finding not only a functional cure, but a vaccine to give to non-infected people as well.

Health / Know How To Teach The Body To Fight HIV by osademeoyahoo(m): 5:52pm On Nov 27, 2013
You can teach the body to fight against HIV infection more effectively
How does the immune system determine that an enemy appeared and you need to fight with it?
To do this, the body produces specific T-cells that recognize short viral peptides by the "lock - key" mechanism. An immunodeficiency virus (in order to evade immunity) changes its surface peptides. Now T-cell sees a "lock" doesn’t suit "key", and goes on, and an unidentified virus multiplies safely.
Experts have developed a method that increases the number of peptides, which T-cells could recognize, threefold. That is, now the "key" can open three "locks", and the probability of detection of the virus increases to three times.

It remains only to create a vaccine against AIDS on this basis and to test it in the real world.
HIV cure news. Treatment of HIV symptoms with liver transplantation
It is known that cancer is the number one in the list of opportunistic infections. A study was conducted in the clinics in Italy from 2004 to 2009 to establish the influence of liver transplantation to the process of HIV infection.

Liver transplantation was performed in 155 patients with cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma). 30 of them were infected with HIV and got antiretroviral therapy prior to treatment. The rest of them were the control group.
It was found that in 32 months of follow-up observations none of the HIV-positive patients did develop AIDS despite the fact that HIV treatment was not performed during this period. The survival rate after surgery was similar for infected and non-infected with HIV. A recurrence rate of liver cancer for patients with symptomatic HIV was 6.7% as opposed to 14.4% - for patients who were not HIV positive.

HIV treatment guidelines
Let’s formulate the 11 basic HIV treatment guidelines:
1. In the body of infected people HIV constantly multiplies.
2. To evaluate the intensity of infection, the concentration of virus and protective cells - lymphocytes - must be measured.
3. The rate of disease development in different for each person.
4. The virus rapidly mutates and changes itself so that drugs are no longer able to act on him.
5. To read the original article, visit the website http://www.hivsymptomsinmen.biz
Center of artificial fertilization of HIV-infected was opened
In Ukraine (Uzhgorod) the only center, which will allow HIV-infected people have healthy children, in the CIS was opened. The clearing of infection, control clearing (study of semen for the presence of human immunodeficiency virus) and freezing are carried out here.
Couples can rely on artificial insemination, only when the symptoms of HIV infection found in man’s organism, and a woman is healthy.

The project is under the control of the Ministry of Health, money is allocated by NGO "All-Ukrainian Network of People Living with HIV / AIDS".

Health / Breast Cancer Symptoms In Men by osademeoyahoo(m): 3:41am On Oct 29, 2013
cool

Symptoms
There is a common misconception that men cannot have breast cancer. Men often ignore the symptoms of cancer or mistake them for other illnesses. Factors such as social stigma and embarrassment contribute to the increasing denial among men of the possibility of getting cancer of the breast The development of male cancer ( of the breast) is largely similar to what women encounter. Males around the ages of sixty and seventy are more prone to the incidence of this type of cancer than any other age group.

Cancer Statistics
The latest American Cancer Society estimates for male breast cancer shows that in 2009 about 1,910 cases will be diagnosed with about 440 fatalities. Approximately one percent of the cancer cases, cancer of the breast cases, affect men. The lifetime risk for developing this type of cancer is at about one in a thousand. Recent studies also shows that the prognosis for this type of cancer for both men and women remains the same and the outlook is still hinged on what stage the cancer was diagnosed.

As in any other cancer, early detection and treatment is vital to an individual's survival. Thus, men are encouraged to be more aware of the cancer's signs and symptoms. Educating males in combating the social stigma brought about by cancer also assist in helping men against this type of cancer.

< a href='http://artserv..com/2013/10/breast-cancer-symptoms-in-men.html'>Detecting breast cancer in men</a>
Knowledge and awareness on the signs and symptoms of cancer are very valuable in delivering the earliest possible detection and treatment for men with this cancer of the breast. Here are some of the symptoms associated with cancer of the breast.

1. Painless development of lump or thickening of the breast
2. Scaling and redness of the nipple and surrounding area
3. Indentation or retraction in the nipple area
4. Bloody or clear nipple discharge

Risk Factors
There are several factors that increase the risk of men getting cancer of the breast. Some of which like genetics and age are uncontrollable. However, some risk factors such as poor diet, alcohol consumption and smoking can be controlled, so it best to learn what we need to avoid. Below is a list of breast cancer risk factors in men.

1. The average age of male breast cancer diagnosis is sixty-seven and breast cancer commonly occurs in men between the ages of sixty and seventy.
2. One in five men with breast cancer had a female relative who had breast cancer too.
3. Those who have undergone prior radiation treatment on the chest area have a greater likelihood for breast cancer.
4. About five to ten percent of male breast cancers are inherited. Genetic defects on the CHEK-2, p53 tumor suppressor, BRCA2 and BRCA1 genes increases a person's cancer risk. These genes usually help prevent cancer by keeping cells from growing abnormally.
5. Those who had a history of Klinefelter syndrome, a congenital abnormality wherein males had an extra X chromosome resulting to lower levels of male hormones and increased female hormones.
6. Those who had taken estrogen-related drugs have a higher risk for breast cancer. Breast cancer cells are known to have estrogen receptors which improve the cancer's ability to progress.
7. Those who had liver diseases are also at risk as the body's estrogen activity increases while the androgen activity reduces when a person is experiencing liver diseases, such as cirrhosis of the liver.
8. Those who are obese may also be at risk for male breast cancer due to increased number of fat cells. Fat cells produce estrogen from androgen, thus increasing the estrogen concentration in the body.
9. Excessive alcohol drinking also promotes breast cancer in men mainly due to the fact that alcohol consumption increases liver diseases and fat accumulation.

Treatment options for cancer of the breast in men
There are a number of treatment methods available for men with cancer of the breast. These methods do not differ from those done for women. Cancer staging is done to determine the best breast cancer treatment option a patient needs. Here are some of the treatment options available.

Surgery - There are several surgical options used to remove breast cancer in men these include simple mastectomy, modified radical mastectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy. Simple mastectomy involves removal of all breast tissue including lobules, ducts, fatty tissue and skin including the nipple and areola.

In a modifiedradical mastectomy, the surgeon removes the entire breast and a portion of the underarm lymph nodes. The surgeon may also remove chest wall muscle if the cancer has spread to that area. The lymph nodes will be examined to check if the cancer has spread and additional treatment is necessary.

Sentinel lymph node biopsy is a procedure developed to locate sentinel nodes, lymph nodes receiving drainage from a breast tumor. Sentinel nodes are removed for biopsy to check for cancer development to the other lymph nodes. This procedure decreases the risk of complications as removal of a single node is necessary for examination.

Radiation Therapy - High energy x-rays are used to kill cancer cells during a radiation therapy. Administered by a radiation oncologist, the therapy is commonly done before surgery to shrink the tumor or after surgery to eliminate remaining cancer cells. Radiation therapy is often painless but may result in tiredness in men who had undergone therapy and tenderness of the breast.

· Chemotherapy
· Hormone Therapy
· Biological Therapy

Chemotherapy involves the use of drugs to kill cancer cells that have spread to other parts of the body after breast cancer surgery. The treatment is usually scheduled every two to three weeks after surgery for about three to six months.
Chemotherapy may be administered intravenously or in pill form. Most patients choose oral chemotherapy as this reduces the need to visit the clinic and can be done at home.
Some chemotherapies target the cancer itself reducing damage to healthy cells. Still, side affects like hair loss, fatigue, vomiting and loss of

cognitive abilities may occur.
Estrogen receptor positive breast cancers rely on estrogen to induce the development of breast cancer cells. Hormone therapy is administered in order to prevent estrogen from bonding to sites in the body where cancer cells may have spread. The male hormone, androgen also helps in the growth of cancer cells. Thus, limiting both estrogen and androgen levels are essential in abating the spread of cancer cells.
In biological therapy, a biological response modifier is used to stimulate the body's immune system to combat cancer. This helps in enhancing the body's natural defense against specific diseases such as cancer. However, biological therapy is still in clinic trials.
You do not want any type of cancer to reach these stages. This is why Thit is extremely essential that you go and see a doctor as soon as possible, the moment you see any of these possible cancer symptoms given above manifesting themselves. All You Need To Know About Breast Cancer
Cancer accounts to a death of 6 million human lives per year. Modern medicine is aging with breath taking advances in cancer care with increasing awareness, preventing, detection, therapy, research and symptom management. Last 15 years has been a revolution. It is likely to fight Cancer out by getting an early detection especially at a pre cancer stage thus yielding best cure with much shorter treatment time, lesser cost, lesser body insult.
Am I at risk for breast cancer? Breast cancer is the most common malignancy-affecting woman in North America and Europe. Every woman is at risk for breast cancer. Close to 200,000 cases of breast cancer were diagnosed in the United States in 2001. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American women behind lung cancer. The lifetime risk of any particular woman getting breast cancer is about 1 in 8 although the lifetime risk of dying from breast cancer is much lower at 1 in 28. The diagnosis once confirmed by Doctor shocks in such a way that not only the patient suffers but entire family suffers the shock. Thus the patient and family both suffer differently and that adds to the total burden of cancer related illness.
Know your breast: The breast is a collection of glands and fattytissue that lies between the skin and the chest wall. The glands inside the breast produce milk after a woman has a baby. Each gland is called as lobule and many such lobules make up a lobe. There are 15 to 20 lobes in each breast. The milk gets to the nipple from the glands by way of tubes called ducts. The glands and ducts get bigger when a breast is filled with milk, but the tissue that is most responsible for the size and shape the breast is the fatty tissue. There are also blood vessels and lymph vessels in the breast. Lymph is a clear liquid waste product that gets drained out of the breast into lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are small, pea-sized pieces of tissue that filter and clean the lymph. Most lymph nodes that drain the breast are under the arm in what is called the axilla.
Risk factors for breast cancer: They can be divided into those that you cannot change and those that you can change. Some factors that increase your risk of breast cancer that you cannot alter include being a woman, getting older, having a family history (having a mother, sister, or daughter with breast cancer doubles your risk), having a previous history of breast cancer, having had radiation therapy to the chest region, being Caucasian, getting your periods young (before 12 years old), having your menopause late (after 50 years old), never having children or having them when you are older than 30, and having a genetic mutation that increases your risk. Genetic mutations for breast cancer have become a hot topic of research lately. Between 3-10% of breast cancers may be related to changes in either the gene BRCA1 or the gene BRCA2.
Women can inherit these mutations from their parents and it may be worth testing for either mutation if a woman has a particularly strong family history of breast cancer (meaning multiple relatives affected, especially if they are under 50 years old when they get the disease). If a woman is found to carry either mutation, she has a 50% chance of getting breast cancer before she is 70. Family members may elect to get tested to see if they carry the mutation as well. If a woman does have the mutation, she can get more rigorous screening or even undergo preventive (prophylactic) mastectomies to decrease her chances of contracting cancer. The decision to get tested is a highly personal one that should be discussed with a doctor who is trained in counseling patients about genetic testing.
Certain factors which increase a woman's risk of breast cancer can be altered including taking hormone replacement therapy (long term use of estrogens with progesterone for menopause symptoms slightly increases your risk), taking birth control pills (a very slight increased risk that disappears in women who have stopped them for over 10 years), not breastfeeding, drinking 2 to 5 alcoholic drinks a day, being overweight (especially after menopause), and not exercising. All of these modifiable risk factors are not nearly as important as gender, age, and family history, but they are things that a woman can control that may reduce her chances of developing a breast malignancy. Remember that all risk factors are based on probabilities, and even someone without any risk factors can still get breast cancer. Proper screening and early detection are our best weapons in reducing the mortality associated with this disease.
What are the signs of breast cancer? Unfortunately, the early stages of breast cancer may not have any symptoms. This is why it is important to follow screening recommendations. As a tumor grows in size, it can produce a variety of symptoms including: lump or thickening in the breast or underarm, change in size or shape of the breast, nipple discharge or nipple turning inward, redness or scaling of the skin or nipple, ridges or pitting of the breast skin
Can you prevent breast cancer? The individual cannot control the most important risk factors for the development of breast cancer. There are some risk factors that are associated with an increased risk, but there is not a clear cause and effect relationship. In no way can strong recommendations be made like the cause and effect relationship seen with tobacco and lung cancer. There are a few risk factors that may be modified by a woman that potentially could influence the development of breast cancer. If possible, a woman should avoid long-term hormone replacement therapy, have children before age 30, breastfeed, avoid weight gain through exercise and proper diet, and limit alcohol consumption to 1 drink a day or less. For women already at a high risk, their risk of developing breast cancer can be reduced by about 50% by taking a drug called Tamoxifen for five years. Tamoxifen has some common side effects (like hot flashes and vaginal discharge), which are not serious and some uncommon side effects (like blood clots, pulmonary embolus, stroke, and uterine cancer) which are life threatening. Tamoxifen isn't widely used for prevention, but may be useful in some cases.
There are limited data suggesting that vitamin A may protect against breast cancer but further research is needed before it can be recommended for prevention. Other things being investigated include phyto estrogens (naturally occurring estrogens that are in high numbers in soy), vitamin E, vitamin C, and other drugs. Further testing of these substances is also needed before they can be recommended for breast cancer prevention. Right now, the most important thing any woman can do to decrease her risk of dying from breast cancer is to have regular mammogram screening, perform breast self-exams once a month. Follow a few, easy steps, you will soon know what is normal for you and will quickly be aware of any changes. If you find a lump or other change, note down where it is and make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible.
Question for young women's are how to look? Well it is medically suggested that you stand up straight in front of a mirror with your arms loosely by your sides. Raise your arms above your head and move from side to side so you can see your breasts in the mirror, from different angles. What should you look for? A change in the size of either breast, change in the shape or position of nipple, bleeding or discharge from the nipples, unusual dimpling or puckering.
How do you feel for changes? Lie flat on your back with your head on a pillow. Put a folded towel under the shoulder on the side of the breast you are checking. This helps to spread the tissue so that it is easier to feel. Examine one breast at a time. Put the hand on the same side of the breast that you are going to examine under your head. With your other hand flat and fingers together, use the flats of your fingers to feel around the breast in small, circular movements, in an anticlockwise direction. Cover the whole of the breast including the nipple. Check your armpit for lumps in the same way, starting in the hollow and moving down towards the breast.
Now examine the other breast in the same way. If you think you have found something, feel the same area on the opposite breast. If they are the same it's probably just your shape, but if you are at all worried, do visit your doctor. Breast cancer happens when cells in the breast begin to grow out of control and can then invade nearby tissues or spread throughout the body. Large collections of this out of control tissue are called tumors. However, some tumors are not really cancer because they cannot spread or threaten someone's life. These are called benign tumors. The tumors that can spread throughout the body or invade nearby tissues are considered cancer and are called malignant tumors. Theoretically, any of the types of tissue in the breast can form a cancer, but usually it comes from either the ducts or the glands. Because it may take months to years for a tumor to get large enough to feel in the breast, we screen for tumors with mammograms, which can sometimes see disease before we can feel it. When speaking of major illnesses that mainly infect women, breast cancer would definitely be ranked on top. In spite of numerous researches made concerning the origin of the illness, there are still no accurate answers achieved. All we know is that it can leave a woman terminally ill that would soon lead to her death. But it does not mean that it only affects women, men can also become possible victims of the condition but on a minimal level.

Since there are still no known causes of breast cancer, everyone is at risk of getting infected and must be prepared. One way to secure ourselves against it, especially for women since they are the ones greatly affected, is to gain significant knowledge about the condition. Early signs of the cancer can be determined by performing basic routines that can even be taught informally. Thus it is very important for one to be replete with enough ideas about breast cancer.

Today, there are several thousands of organizations whose main purpose is to provide assistance to everyone who may not be knowledgeable with breast cancer. Most of these organizations are based locally, but have international affiliations with other groups. Joining these groups is one good way of acquiring information about the condition and how one can help determine if a woman has already the early signs of the illness and need to be addressed with medical assistance.

If symptoms of breast cancer start to show, concerned individuals must immediately seek medical assistance. Further diagnostics should immediately commence in order to administer appropriate measures and stop the tumor cells from growing the moment they have yet to form. Being responsible individuals can help save lives that can also be your own. For more information,

Symptoms of Kidney Problem
Kidney trouble should always be taken seriously because a kidney problem, if it's not treated in time, can have a huge impact on your overall health and quality of life. Some kidney conditions are potentially fatal. Your kidneys can become so damaged from a kidney infection or kidney cancer that they no longer function. When such kidney failure occurs, the only way you can survive is through a kidney transplant, or dialysis..

What Are the Most Common Kidney Problem Symptoms?

Many kidney conditions have similar symptoms.
You may or may not experience pain in the lower back or "flank" area. If you have this pain, it may be mild, or it may be severe (as can happen with kidney stones). It can occur on either side of the back.
People who have a kidney condition often find they're urinating less frequently than before.
There may be blood present in your urine. If this is the case, your urine will look darker and may even have a slight reddish tint.

You may feel pain or discomfort while urinating. This also happens if you have a bladder infection, but it's possible that the infection might be happening elsewhere in the urinary tract - like the kidneys.
You may sometimes pass very little urine, even though you felt an urgent need to urinate moments before.
These are some other possibilities:
* chills and a fever,
* higher blood pressure,
* feeling overly tired, weak or fatigued,
* muscle weakness,
* bloating. This could be a sign that your kidneys aren't filtering fluids from your bloodstream as they should.
* swelling in the ankles, feet or hands,
* swelling and puffiness in the area around the eyes, especially in the morning,
* nausea and vomiting, along with a loss of appetite,
* abnormal behavior, seizures and convulsions. These sometimes occur in the late stages of a kidney problem.

Diagnosing the Symptoms
The following types of clinical procedures can assist in diagnosing the symptoms of kidney trouble.
* a blood analysis
* blood pressure checks
* a thorough health examination
* a sonogram of your abdomen
* an analysis of your urine,
Tests that are typically performed during the course of a woman's pregnancy can also assist in determining if kidney trouble is developing.

A Final Thought on Kidney Problems
Kidney problem symptoms are often difficult to diagnose, and frequently don't appear until the problem is serious. You can actually lose almost all kidney function before the signs of a problem are obvious.
