Academy is 5 years, you join straight out of secondary school. 18+5=23. Takes 6 months to be promoted to lt. Frm 2nd lt. And 4 years to b promoted to capt.

guys enter the academy between 16yrs and 21, spend a mandotory 5 yrs in the academy. On graduation d cadet gets commisioned as a 2nd Lt. he will spend between 3-5yrs to attain/climb to the rank of captain. so i ll leave you to do the math.
