This is why they say that Nigerians argue with emotions instead of logic and sense.

Which dirty African culture? The same culture that allows men to marry unlimited number of wives? The same culture that gives inheritance to the first son, irrespective of circumstances? The same African cultures where there is FGM? The same African cultures that don't have age of consent? Where 65 year old men can marry 15 year old girls?

Lol.....so much for culture.
You clearly don't have a clue about Africa and her culture, I for like school you o, but you apparently worship the white man ass

Your comment betrays your level of reasoning.

It's clear that you don't know two basic facts that should be common sense

1. Logic is universal. Culture is local and tribal. Both a Chinese man and a Nigerian will logically conclude that 2+2=4.
2. Principles are gotten from communication and exchange. You deal with people and you try to see how you can come up with good practices that Foster and protect human interactions.
It's always important not to shift the goal post during conversation, I don't need your show of logics and principle here..

My stance will always be the same

Homosexuality has no room in Africa culture, if you're not happy with it, deal with it

You can't throw Logic away in these type of discussions...if you refuse to see logic you're the one on Lapses and this topic isn't for you...

You apparently don't know shit about those movies neither have you taken your time to watch any one of them..... But you know what, Google is always right..... The movies listed there was about Africa culture..

You know what? The day America decides to accept polygamous marriage (one of the movies listed was about a man living away due to his polygamous family).

Like I stated earlier on, Africa norms and culture frowns against homosexuality, if you think you need logic to disapprove that, your cup of tea

Law should be based on logic and principles.

Logic and principle laid down by who?
Laws are based on culture and tradition of the society, principles are not gotten from neither the moon nor stars.... Logic is a way of reasoning, how does it relate with law?

You know what a law is right?

Stealing is a crime right? In the African culture stealing is highly frowned upon with punishments as severe as cutting off limbs or burning but has any Heist or Thieving themed movie ever been banned in Nigeria or Africa as a whole cos we frown on stealing?

Another logic and reasoning professor. Those movies were means of entertainment and in any form doesn't support the activities, it is always written at the end or beginning of the movie . Nollywood also have movies about thieves and war and crimes of all sort. Those are social vices

Homosexuality is way more than entertainment, it is an idea foreign to our culture. Same way an average American movie will not portray polygamous family or emulate Africa gods ..

Dont mind him o...Make we accept homosexuality, but our gods are idols, our polygamous lifestyle is a sin...

 lol.
It's like you watch movies but you don't really internalize what you watch.

The things you see just fly past you without you actually realizing what you just saw.

What do you think happens in war movies?
What do you think happens when the good guys mow down dozens of the antagonists hench men?
What do you think happens when people go on a vengeance mission?

You are already shifting the goal post here, typical Nigerian.... If the issue of war and genocide arise, we will discuss about it ... Now, it's about homosexuality.

What fallcay? You were ranting about logic and logic and logic, you decided to present a calabar situation as an instance.. I was referring to Africa in general and the whole culture and you decided to raise a specific instance as a means of reasoning?

But a lot of movies portray murder and even genocide as good and yet those movies are not banned.
A lot of movies have the protagonist as a thief or engaged in adultery and yet no one bats an eye.
So why is this case different.
It's not like the central message of the movie is that too should go and be kissed people of the same sex.
Slow down a bit, which movie portray murder or genocide as good?
You speak too much English for someone who doesn't understand that Africa will never homosexuality as its practice

Have you heard of the logical fallacy that is called appeal to tradition ?
Basically, this fallacy states that something is right or wrong simply because it's the way it has always been done.
Going by this line of reasoning, we can safely say that the world is flat simply because this belief has always been held for a long time.

We can also say that the kiling of twins in Calabar is right because it conforms with tradition and had been practised since time immemorial.

So is homosexuality right?

I don't need all these high school notes from you, okay?
Your claim is as weak as shit, I am not using an instance of a tribe, I am talking about Africa as a whole, okay?.. It is so simple to understand..

Law shouldnt be based on culture, not that there is any precedent in Nigerian cultures banning gay movies.

You are the one using emotions.

Our culture also allows a man's brother to inherit his wife, if he dies. Should we take that as law too? People like you who argue that we should respect culture, do so with bias
So on what basis should law be upon?
Homosexuality is a crime in Nigeria and any move, music, movie or any form of support will be frowned upon..

Fyi, the instance you gave is for a particular culture, generally, Africa culture frowns at homosexuality...

Age restrictions exist if it's the kids you're worried about.

Like I stated earlier on, there is a standard for any movie to be shown, if it doesn't make the cut, then it shouldn't be aired.. It's no issue.

Movies should be filtered with facts and not religious sentiments.

If kids can watch two straight people kiss in disney movies, then they should be able to watch 2 gay people kiss.

You are already getting emotional here.. homosexuality has no place In our culture, if you feel bad about it, you can travel to those countries..
Because other western nations accept it doesn't mean we should

What foolish standards?

When did we become a religious country? We are a secular country and not Saudi Arabia.

Secular country doesn't mean we should filter what goes in and out of our country. Fgs, it was only banned in cinemas, it's not cool to let kids watch two grown adult of same sex make out.
If you so much want to watch it, wait for it on the highseas..
