Dear Nairalanders. I currently have two job offers on the table. One is in Abuja and the pay is about N200,000 a month, while the other is in Lagos and the pay is about N300,000. I am presently based in Abuja and have never stayed in Lagos. I only visited on occasions. The Lagos offer is tempting but I am kind of apprehensive about relocating there because of the challenges that come with staying in Lagos. Please I need your inputs. Which would you rather choose, the Lagos offer or the Abuja one? Serious suggestions only please! |
DrChukzy:My poor, semi literate father in the village fell victim to this last week. The most painful part of the whole scam thing is that he even called the scammer with his airtime and dictated the whole info to him. It was when the old man got a debit alert, informing him that all the money in his account had been transferred to an unknown recipient that it became clear to him that he had been scammed. So painful! |
prinzewill:Bros she no dey drink fuel o. How then will 50 litres of fuel do the magic? |
LuvSwollenPussy:My broda the insult was not necessary. She is not dictating to me, and I don't see any issue in allowing a woman u love have her way at times. There is noting wrong in making her feel special. Even I'd what u said were true, u are not the one she is dictating to. so pls just pass by if u don't have anything respectful to say. |
madjune:Thanks for ur suggestion. |
kpolli:I have always known her. I asked her out not quite long but I have no doubt on my mind if she is the right one. I also want her to wear my ring to scare away 'predators' |
phabulous88:Wonderful! Thank u very much. I will think about this and see how feasible it can be. |
Captainswag225:Pls educate me on the appropriate speech. |
ChukChinCol:There is noting wrong in making her feel spacial Na. She is very dear to my heart and her happiness means a lot to me. |
youmour:That will be a nolly wood classic! |
lolaxavier:We dey try follow the trend. lol |
Captainswag225:The latter suggestion sounds good. |
fitinwell:I already have a job that pays my bills. |
Aitee1:You know that's not possible Na. who needs anyone's consent for that kind thing.lol |
free2ryhme:This is harsh. Pls think of a better alternative. |
DonTim1:Thank you and taken! |
macklef:There is love in sharing bro. Pls help a broda in need. |
Ishilove:I suppose that will be the least romantic setting ever. lol |
Aitee1:Honestly am ready for it. I actually told her about my intention to marry her from the beginning. She only wants me to do it the 'normal' u know. ![]() Aitee1:Honestly am ready for it. Hello everyone, I need your suggestions on the best proposal setting to adopt. I recently started dating this lady who was my good friend before I asked her out. we were more like family friends. I had to battle so hard to overcome the inertia I had to tell her about my feelings for her. she accepted to date me after much efforts from me and her elder sister who also happens to be my friend. But right now, she is insisting I propose to her 'formally', and that I make the setting romantic enough to make it a memorable day for her. The problem is that I have no clue what setting to adopt. Please I need feasible suggestions on this matter. I need to propose within the weekend. Thank you in advance for your suggestions. |
Ekosodin, one of the places that have given me the best experiences of my life. Spent 4 years living there and graduated in 2011. Didn't have much issues with the "strong men" around. Maintaining a low profile was the key thou. My only encounter with them was mild compared to what some of my friends experienced. I planned to sleep over at my babe's room that night, but around 10pm she did something that got me really upset so I decided to go back to my hostel. On my way one guy accosted me around that usually dark spot at the beginning of Edo street and said "guy show". Immediately I know say casala don burst. As I got close to him, I saw two other guys lurking around so I decided to behave. Then he said "Wetin dey for ur guys Na? We never eat since o". I come tell am say Na only 1k I get with me and I no fit drop everything as Na the only money Wey I get be that. The guy say make I go find change so I could give them 500 Naira. I was forced to buy what I didn't need just to get the change. Thank God they didn't search me because I had over 5k with me that night. I for cry tire. I also witnessed the killing of a hostel mate. It was horrible. Very early on Sunday morning in Courage Hostel, I was preparing to go for service when I saw two guys walked into the compound, went behind Block B and towards a guy working on his generator. Immediately the two of them pulled out guns. One fired him in the neck at very close range and the other shot him in the head. The guy fell and died instantly. I almost melted. My younger brother that came for Post UME almost had convulsion. For two weeks we no sleep that hostel. The good thing be say all those experiences don make me stronger now. I am hardly intimidated by any threat now. Wish those residing at Ekosodin well. Face your studies and graduate without troubles. |

I just concluded my National Service and I am already in an office working and expecting to earn good money at the end of the month courtesy of a job advert i saw on nairaland. For the nairalanders that are still serving please avail yourselves of the job opportunities posted on nairaland forum and other job sites and probably have reasons to smile as soon as you finish your service. |
We have lost the 20th century, do we fold our hands and watch our children loose the 21st? NO, OVER MY DEAD BODY! - Chinua Achebe |
The governor of Cross River State, Lyel Imoke, had kept his promise of rewarding the Super eagles for winning the Cup of Nations. The governor at the reception that was organised for the team, where the Nations Cup trophy was officially presented, gave a whopping N25m gift to the squad. He also gave each member of the team a plot of land in choice areas of Calabar, confirming his consistent saying that Calabar is the home of the team. The Super Eagles team that won the trophy for the first time in 1980 were also given houses and cars by the Alhaji Shehu Shagari government. |
bbpreye.:You mean you quoted all that just to ask how to prepare YELLOW soup? Nigerians are really becoming too naughty. |
The United Nations and partners have teamed up to put in place an innovative global survey, known as "MY World", so people can participate in the post-2015 policy-making process telling them the changes that would make the most difference to their lives. "MY World" asks individuals which six of sixteen possible issues they think would make the most difference in their lives. The sixteen issues have been built up from the priorities expressed by poor people in existing research and polling exercises, and from the ongoing technical and political discussions about possible future goals. They cover the existing MDGs, plus issues of sustainability, security, governance and transparency. The sixteen issues are: 1. Better job opportunities 2. Support for people who can't work 3. A good education 4. Better healthcare 5. Affordable and nutritious food 6. Phone and internet access 7. Better transport and roads 8. Access to clean water and sanitation 9. Reliable energy at home 10. Action taken on climate change 11. Protecting forests, rivers and oceans 12. Equality between men and women 13. Protection against crime and violence 14. Political freedoms 15. An honest and responsive goverment 16. Freedom from discrimination and persecution. As a Nigerian, which six of the sixteen issues matter most to you? You can even suggest another priority. |
