Christianity EtcRe: Are Churches Really Helping The Poor And Unemployed In Our Society Today? by oselenkejoor: 3:52pm On Oct 10, 2013
See how you spewing balderdash! Wait a minute! what do you think the church is? The Church is not some tall cathedral or building. We all are the Church, we are the body of Christ! The basic problem with an average Nigerian is the mindset disorientation, we lament and proclaim our woes about the country, this is bad, things are not working. The question should be How are you yourself helping the poor in your neighbourhood. Dont join people to talk down on the church, you are not only sinning against yourself but against the Holy Spirit.

Ukuts gp: Are churches really helping the poor and the less priviledge in our society? considering the way pastors are buying jets, building mega churches worth billions of naira, cruising on an expensive cars even when some members hardly feed and takes care of their families. When you look at churches you will discover that they hardly help the poor and the unemployed members to stand on their feet financially. Building mega churches, buying private jets is not my problem, but helping the needy and unemployed is. My point is churches should contribute to helping the less priviledge in the church and society in general, that is what jesus is expecting churches to be doing and not the other way round. Now the question is: are churches helping the poor and needy in our society today or not? Give your candid opinion. Thanks.

Food5 Weird Animals Nigerians Eat by oselenkejoor(op): 10:31am On Oct 10, 2013
We all know our brothers from China enjoy devouring the Agama lizard and to us that's crazily weird. But as they say, another man's food is another man's poison. Personally i believe every animal is meant for human consumption. Here's a list of 5 weird animals i believe Nigerians eat, you could add yours... here we go!

1. Dogs: (Serzly this is absolutely outta this world). Contrary to popular belief that only the Calabars eat dogs, i can authoritatively tell you that the Ondos and Oguns enjoy this four-footed thing also.
2. Snakes: Confession time grin I've tasted this back in secondary school days and i tell you its the sweetest thing on planet earth, especially when
its well roasted and meticulously salted.
3. Cats: Of course, people eat cats. grin surprised? Dont be tongue!
4. Ducks: Now this is official, it tastes just like ram meat! A piece of the meat is a mouth-fill! and its nice in stew cheesy Go try it out. Pepeye dun bi
kilode cool
5. Insects: When i say insect i do not mean mosquitoes or housefly ooo.grin Some insects are good foods. There is this kind of insect we used to eat back then in boarding house. Whenever it rained, they swarm around and we did put a bowl of water which they fall into and from der we did judgement on the tiny thingies tongue
Now add yours to the list. O sad did i forget to tell you that lions too are good delicacies, oya go hunt one and enjoy tongue grin

McLuhan: Sincerely, I have never been overly enamoured with DSTV. Granted, I love foreign news channels, especially BBC, Sky News, and CNN. I also fancy National Geographic Wild. But I am exasperated by what I see as the exploitation of Nigerian viewers by DSTV's parent company, Multichoice. When I started working, I used to pay a monthly subscription fee of N9,000 for the premium bouquet. I did this every month for some time until I realised that I was cheating myself, since I had neither the time nor the interest to watch the pot-pourri of channels they offered - channels that ranged from the admittedly useful to the plain absurd. I then opted for less expensive bouquets until finally I left them entirely for free-to-air satellite TV providers.

My advice is if one is not using DSTV for commercial purposes and one is not a English-football freak, there is really no reason to dole out such cash every month for pay-TV viewership, except you consider it a status symbol. Get a Strong decoder instead and connect to the Joy TV franchise from Ghana or Dokpesi's DAARSAT. Alternatively, get a dongle and access various content providers free. Just my advice, though.
I quite agree with u on dis one. I don't alll dt mu, besides ihave other distractions, laptops, smartphones. So I opted for mytv and multitv which are both free to air, and guess what? My church has a tv on mytv, its so nice watching my pastor on set. But d little clause der is dt, how can I watch dstv channel or other connection for free, I currently use a strong 4922 decoder.

Nairaland GeneralRe: What Special Gift/Talent Do You Possess? by oselenkejoor: 6:05am On Nov 06, 2012
Well as for me, I can guess/say people's name for the very first time of meeting them. When my sis put to bed, I wasn't around at d christening ceremony, and no one told me, n I said "his name is Abraham' and she WOWed! The second is not really a talent, I've got a magnetic personalty towards the fairer sex. I'm not anything near handsome. Give me some time, any lady will naturally 'fall'for. Me. Seriously, but I'm a Christian, so I disappoint them all the time! Lol. Lest I forget, I'm savvy with words, cos I'm a POET grin
