AbayomiLaw: Am sorry it's coming late...
Got AL from the only School I applied to in January,2019 .
I couldn't meet up for the Summer Semester due to my Involvement in Nigeria Politics.
So I informed the school about it, they offered to defer the admission to Winter semester to enable me stabilize and organize myself, even without me asking for it (what a great system).
I accepted, and almost immediately, they sent me another AL for Winter Semester.
I informed my sponsor about it and he got and sent me an SL to be taken to the embassy. I had serious issues with booking online, so I asked for help here, lol and behold after a week of trying, a Naira Lander booked for me, waiting all through the midnight to get me a date.
He also helped me prepare for interview and got me almost everything I needed for the interview including the DHL courier envelope, application form and Interview transcripts. A day before the interview he met me at his busstop in the rain and made sure he rehearsed every step of the interview process with me(Thank you Ayo).
On the day preceding the interview, I lodged in an hotel around the embassy. Woke up more than 7 times to check time, cos I was afraid of oversleeping. Around 4mins to 3am, I woke up and refused to sleep back, I rehearsed my transcripts, duplicated/wrote another motivation to while away time.
By 4am, I dressed up, it was raining, I stylishly booked Keke and left my car in the hotel. I got to the embassy around 4:25am, the front gate was locked, the soldiers didn't allow us in until I think 5am.
We got inside and we were just two at the German embassy, we waited till around 6:20 before a security man came to attend to us and stamped our Appointment Letters, by then we were almost 13. Paulinus came around 6:50am, they now attended to Shengen Visa till around 7:40am, after which they called we the Students Visa Applicants I was the first to scale through Paulo, he was full of praises for me, he sent 2 people to the back and replaced them, only to replace them back that they are worst than the first ones he sent away. Lol.
I was directed to the Interview section by a line on the floor.
I sat for like 3min before I was asked to enter a cubicle, lo and behold, I saw a black skin man and I gained extra confidence.
We exchanged greetings, he asked me what I came for, I told him. Have you blocked? I said I wld use SL He went through my documents... Asked if am married or has a child. Asked the course and school. Checked my SL and realised a portion stating my purpose of travel was cut off in the photo copy. He told me to always check well next time, he went to do the photo copy for me with their copier. Asked my relationship with my Sponsor. Interview proper. Pick the phone: Which Course? Which School! Why Germany? Why not US? Why the course? Facts about Germany ( he was just saying is that all). Sometimes I will mention something, he would say; are you sure? I wld say, 'thats wat I read', and he would laugh. Bachelor Thesis? Facts about Germany. Why Germany (again). Have you been denied Germany visa before? Why not Nigeria. I told him our standard of education is falling. He quickly corrected me that, I shouldn't join those saying that, that if our standard is really low or falling, Germany would never had offered me Masters Admission. Plan after Studies. Told him am a politician and would definitely come back to continue politics, that we can't leave politics for the old men. Showed him my handbill during the last election, he collected it and said I should have included it, he made photocopies and included it in my documents. He said we need people like you. Give me your email. Will get back to you. Any question? I asked him how long, he said they would need to verify if the Sponsor has enough to sponsor me. I told him I also intend getting there some months to my Masters resumption so as to learn German language. He asked if I already registered, I said No. He said I should quickly register and send in the Confirmation so as to hasten the process, that they encourage it and call in Intergration. That's all. I was like you didn't tell me your name, he laughed and said my name is Noah ( that's my own name o), we laughed and that was it. The interview was interactive. All thanks to God!
I have forgotten somethings o. But I will remember when AM lands. 6 weeks and still counting! AM will come soon. I wish everyone expecting AL,AD,AM success.
It is well. Sorry it's long ooo. Amen Congratulations.. Thanks for a well detailed transcript. Wish u good news of AM and visum soonest. This forum is a loving place to be. |

OgbeniVan: Transcript of my interview yesterday 28th June, 2019.
I got to the Embassy by 6.20am for my 7am slot and immediately had my appointment print out stamped. Then I joined a queue. When they were ready to attend to us, they decided to start with short stay candidates first.
After about 1hr 30 mins of waiting, they started attending to Student Visa people. So we left the queue outside and joined the queue on the wooden platform with seats.
Then Paulinus came and started asking us to arrange our documents in a certain order. I don’t recall the exact order but these were the documents he asked for.
2 Application for Visa forms placed face down 2 signed declaration forms on top of them 2 photocopies of your passport data page next. 2 photocopies of your FSLC next with your original placed separately (I didn’t have this and I asked here a few days ago. When I told him that I didn’t have it, he asked me to move on to the next document) 2 photocopies of an old document eg old library card, baptismal certificate etc (at least over 5years old) to verify your age next with the original placed on the FSLC WAEC or NECO photocopies then their originals on their respective piles University degree next, NYSC, Admission letter (one translation before the other) Hand written letter of Motivation next, Curriculum Vitae, Blocked Account document next Then any other supporting document you have. One original and 2 photocopies each.
He then pinned the 3 piles of documents together, sighted our visa fees, gave us a gate pass and sent us in.
When I got to the VO, she didn’t ask me a lot of questions.
What did you study as an undergraduate? Why are you going for this course? What was your undergraduate project topic? Why do you want to study in Germany? What do you know about the Politics in Germany? Have you applied for a visa before either to Germany or any other country? Have you blocked funds in your blocked account? What do you plan to do after your studies?
I wish everyone good luck with their AL, BA, SL and AM. We’ll all meet in Deutschland. Congratulations |

Got to the embassy around 6:10am and I met few people at the gate. Before I continue, *if you don't have ur B.sc certificate yet, please go and get it from ur university* to avoid shout from the VO and also be very fast when arranging ur documents to avoid Paulinus wrath. So after checking our appointment letter, Paulinus told us to arrange our documents according to the way he is saying. Original one side, photocopies on two different sides. I will advice u separate ur photocopies from each so DAT u can be fast when arrangement. Some persons where sent to the back of the line cos they weren't fast. I was fast and so I was the first to go in and be interviewed. I went in and sat for a while for the signal to go in. After the signal I went to the cubicle. The VO was a fair sweet lady.
Me: Good morning VO: Good morning VO: What are you going for? Me: Bachelor VO: How old are u Me: I answered VO: And you want to do B.sc at that age, or is it second degree? Me: Yes VO: Pass me your documents Me: I did VO: And 3 passport photographs Me: Gave her 2 (4got I had extra in my envelope) but I told her its 2 dats on the check list and she collected them VO: Are you married? Me: No VO: Put your hands for biometrics Then she went through my documents and noticed my B.sc certificate is not included but instead it was my B.sc statement of result VO: Now she raised her voice "Where is your Certificate, why didn't you bring it. You don't have any excuse cos you graduated 2014" Me: My statement is what I have with me (then she kept quiet)...oh boy..I started blasting in tongues in my mind oo while she was confirming my fingers on her system All of a sudden her mood changed to lively and friendly through out the remaining part of the interview. VO: What is your language of instruction (now in good state, no more anger face) Me: English VO: What are you doing now (her mood getting more friendly) Me: Teaching VO: Private or Government school Me: Government Then I remembered I have extra passport photo, but she said no need for it again VO: Which course are you going for Me: Environmental and Resource Management (She is now fully lively and friendly) VO: What is the name of the school Me: Brandenburg University of Technology VO: Where is it located Me: Cottbus VO: Are you going straight for the B.sc program (now looking into my eyes) Me: Yes VO: Are you sure Me: Very sure ma VO: Hand me your visa fee Me: I did....N30,500 VO: Why do you want to study this course Me: Told her because of my work experience as a Safety officer at RCC, I was involved in waste management and safety of workers and.....then she cuts in VO: What do you know about Germany Me: I gave her 15 facts about Germany (she was very impressed, at least from her behavior, she showed satisfied with the things I said).....go and practice those 44 facts about Germany "google it" VO: Why do you want to study in Germany Me: Germany have a high quality education with tuition free universities both for EU citizens and non-EU citizens VO: Why not USA or any other English speaking countries Me: Their cost of education is very high even with someone having a scholarship VO: Why not continue your education in Nigeria Me: The quality of education in Nigeria is very low compared to Germany VO: Who gave you this SL Me: My brother VO: Do you have relatives in Germany Me: Yes VO: Who Me: My brother and my sister VO: What preparation have you made for your study Me: I applied for an accommodation, they said they will reply me 3weeks to my arrival VO: What are your plans after graduation Me: To come back to Nigeria and establish a recycling company( while I was talking she was smiling and laffing saying "oh Nigerians" cos she tot I was lying. Her next question confirmed my tot VO: So you want to leave your brother in Germany and come to Nigeria( she said this while smiling and laffing) Me: Yes......(Wetin I wan talk b4...make I say No?...Lolzz) VO: That's all She gave me my receipt and passport and she said I should be checking my e-mail regularly.
PRAY VERY WELL AND TALK WITH CONFIDENCE AND BE FAST WHEN ARRANGING UR DOCUMENTS IN FRONT OF PAULINUS.....MORE GRACE!! Congratulations. AM fall on you |

Onyi2728: Let me share my good news. Its with heartwarming delight to announce that I received my AM yesterday. My effort to port to Germany began in March 2018. And since then it's been a rollercoaster. From losing my job in UAE to coming back to Lagos. From trying to get a job in Lagos to running back to Dubai. To the 5 admission denied last year and the long long wait. Blocked account and unblocking it lol.
My second attempt was much easier. Got a job quicker than I expected when I returned back to Dubai and kept trying. I am going to Hochschule Bremen MBA in International Tourism Management. Interview date was May 28 2019.It wasn't actually an interview. I just submitted all documents required and only two question was asked. Have I gotten an accommodation yet? and how will I sponsor myself in the second year?
Funded on 15th June. Sent blocked account info to embassy 18th June. AM received 24th. I will be porting in September.
This is a mile stone in my life knowing where I come from and knowing I did it all by myself with the help of reading on nairaland.
Thanks a lot. God Bless Everyone. I tap into that Grace of God that favour u to do mine, amen |

Eldeee: It all went well today. Thank God for His grace.
Interview transcript Arrived at the embassy by 5:40am ,decided to chill and relax till 6:30am, at least I know say I come quick. Guys at the park quickly rush me for business, but unfortunately na bad market i be, Lol.
Met Mr paulinus at his usual routine, almost took the urine out of one guy after shouting at him. I just pity the guy and gave him signals to calm down. Me I dey ready for am, so no shaking.
Was ushered in for security checks, and was asked to wait at the seats close to the security checks, neither did I knew they arranged a VIP visa interview for me, Lol. I signalled the security guards that am still waiting and others are being sent inside the consulate building. But he said I should wait when it's time I will be ushered in.
It was time, I was given signal to go in. I met a calm looking lady at the visa room one, she was not smiling ooo, but I have to force smile out of her face after my interview.
My questions were more of personal questions as she noticed I have been there before now. No much hassles. But was just making emphasis on me funding on time.
The questions goes thus
What are you going for, msc or bsc? Which school and what course What is your bsc course, and what year did you graduate What have you been doing What's the relationship between your bsc and your proposed masters Are you married? Your bsc thesis?
All personal questions like I earlier mentioned. Even if you wake me up ten times, I go tell you without stress.
The only question that doesn't relate to me is this
Tell me what you know about Germany, na she even stop me cos talk go plenty. What are you going to do after studying?
That's all for now. She now asked any question for me. I was like shebi you no want laugh abi, you go laugh by force. Now I asked her what does the embassy have for me, she was like what do you mean, I told her on a lighter note, my birthday is coming up three days from now so I asked again what does the embassy have for me, any gifts or surprise package, she have to force out laughter from her face unknowingly and said I should please go as I have no serious question for her.
My people na so I take go oooo. Just went to catch my fun jare. Congratulations bro. AM fall on u |

3T: Transcripts from my interview at the German consulate Lagos on 20.06.2019
Arrived there at 5.30 am. At 6.15am one of the security guys verified the appointment and stamped the appointment letters.
Lined up at 6.30am One guy helped in arranging the documents and ushered us in. ( Either it's not Paulinus or Paulinus was misrepresented. The man was *nice*).
Whats are your names ? What Visa are you applying for ? V.O goes through my documents. V.O Asked me to arrange them in a particular sequence using a list she gave me.
Gave me 3 copies of data protection documents to sign (returned 2 copies to her)
Gave me one printout and asked me to confirm my details on the form and sign.
V.O asked if I'm going for masters or bachelors. V.O collected the VISA fees and gave me receipt. What School and course ? Asked me to explain troubleshooting. V.O took my biometrics V.O starts asking questions. V.O asked if I've funded ? Answered in the affirmative and showed her coracle confirmation.. says she's never seen coracle before. Told her it's like fintiba.
Before asking questions she told me she didnt want stories.... just concise answers and straight to the point.
Why Germany ? Asked for 5 facts about Germany Why not Nigeria ? (tried comparing Nigeria education system with Germany... V.O says she didnt want comparisons) Why not U.S or U.K What are the products Germany exports ? Mention automobiles produced in Germany (Included textile and clothings in the list, vo looked surprised said shes just hearing that for the first time) Asked for my bachelors thesis (she asked further questions about outcome of the research) Asked what's the plan after the masters.. (told her I'm coming back to take up a senior role in my company .. asked how much am I earning ) Asked what type of company and what they do.. That concludes the interview. my office will get back to you.
PS: The V.O was nice, wasn't too fast and didnt interjects.. she listens to responses then type the responses in. Was interviewed by the lady on low cut with tinted hair.. think she was in counter 2
Also didnt use the telephone for interview... spoke with the V.O through the glass... Congratulations AM awaits you sooner than expected. Same VO interviewed me |

To who much is given, much is expected.... I thank God for a favourable and successful interview on 18/06/2019. I appreciate the contributions, wealth of experience and love from this great family. Thank you all. May all our aspirations and dreams on this journey come to reality in Jesus name, Amen.
I arrived the embassy at 5.21am and was told by the police officer at the entrance to come back 6am. I got back by 6am and joined the queue.
Thank God for a favourable session with Mr. P . I must acknowledged that if you do whatever he instructs u to the latter (without subtraction or any addition), you will not experience his wrath. He is a principled fellow. please take note of this; try to go with extra copies of whatever is on the student checklist. There is no crime in that , so as to avoid unnecessary running around or telling stories that is touching.. ... I went with 4 copies of all that was mentioned on the checklist as backup.
I was check into room 2 for my interview. Me: good morning Vo: good morning vo: can I have your international passport Me: I hand it over vo: why are you here. I'm her for my German student visa interview to study for a master degree in Groundwater Mngt. vo: how old are you vo: are you married? yes, I am with children vo: how do u intend to sustain ur family while you're away in Germany. My wife is gainfully employed with a good pay. my employer agreed paying me half salary for the duration of my study. this would sustain them while I'm gone vo: u hope I would not see them very soon that they want to come and join u? I said no and we both smiled vo: you're yet to fund your BA? I said yes. please read carefully and sign the following documents. I went on to read before signing them , while she kept typing on her PC and the interaction is ongoing. vo: tell me the name of your school and state it is located. I handed her the signed documents. she requested for 3 passport photos. vo: which school did u graduated from and when. I answered. vo: what kept u this long before taking ur Master degree. I told her I was gathering experience on the job which has just led to the motivation to take the degree after i discovered the origin of Nigerian groundwater challenges and it's major health issues. vo: now let's Start the interview. pls be brief as possible as u can. vo: why this course. it is in line with my future career plan. it would also help me to contribute to groundwater research development in Nigeria from the practical experience and knowledge I will acquire after the degree. vo said that is OK pls vo: why study in Germany. high class of education system in terms of dual teaching which combines theoretical learning and practical training to produce bright graduates who are well prepared for work environment. The heavy investment of the German government in education and research development, plus her free tuition for their citizens and foreigners motivated me vo: why not UK. huge tuition and high cost of living which is beyond my reach. another is racism and insecurity against black students. vo disagreed with me. she said racism occurs in Nigeria too. vo: tell me facts about Germany u know. I mentioned population according to UNO estimate, first country to adopt daylight saving time in 1916, Europe largest economy, 4th and 5th largest economy in world according to nominal GDP and PPP, German president and chancellor with their parties and elected dates. she said stop. that is OK vo: plans after the MSC. coming home to put to practise the acquired knowledge vo: Bsc thesis. vo: pls send ur BA asap to fast track the completion of Ur application . thank u and have a great day I said. vo: and u too. All the interactive session and biometric documentation is 10 mins. good news to as many expecting AL, BA, SL, AM and Visa very soon in Jesus name, Amen.
Please accept my apology this is coming late. I have some challenges that cut me off out of reach. but better late than never...... Best of luck to everyone. Thanks for the privilege to share my little experience with this great generation. |

campichristian: Yes i did... it’s painful to say that I don’t think those pple actually know what they’re doing... i got to the German Embassy In maitama... told the securities i only wanted to make an inquiry, so they directed me to a man sitting at the entrance of the main building. He had to talk to me with a microphone as i was only able to see him through a thick glass. I asked him about student visa application and booking appointments, naso baba point one notice board for corner make i observe, i stroll reach that side read everything for the board ... i no see anything like student visa application and booking of appointment, i go meet the man again reason am say i don get AL for Msc,BA, no scholarship and i dey live for abj. Then he redirected me to another man on uniform(man was so nice and polite as I approached him), explained the new booking appointment system to him(man smiles crookedly). Yes the fault is from lagos, he said. They’re alot happpening on that site and it is conjested and they’re currently offloading some things, lets wait till next week if the system would change again. Also he said “you can only do your interview here in Abuja if you have a scholarship or you are sent from lagos to Abuja to have your interview here(but rarely) only if you have an emergency case”. My brothers and sisters i got confused and I didn’t even want to push forward with more questions. Those in Lagos please help us check with your consulate ... For now I think Category B is for anyone without scholarship
AL and BA fall on you all, Amen!!! Bros, you're highly appreciated for the step taken in benefit of many. God bless u. so, the waiting continues before this is resolved..... |

Wao! many thanks for this piece of information. I was born 1978. I will do as you have advised, though I'm an orphan. I hope this won't pose any problem at the magistrate court....? |

Many thanks GoldHorse. I can't express the relief you have just given me from within. I will swear the affidavits immediately after the public holidays next week just to be on the safe side. You are greatly blessed for the explicit details to my predicament. Wishing you all the best in your endeavors. Amen GoldHorse: You can swear an affidavit stating that your correct name combination and ARRANGEMENT is so and so if that will give you peace of mind. AND stick with that going forward. The most important is the arrangement in the international passport.
.... but, from personal experience, I don't think it matters. At least no one has ever asked me any question and I have used mine to work (in many places), travel, etc. See my own example below:
Pri sch.... Awolowo Oluwafemi Sec. Cert 1.......Awolowo Olufemi Sec Cert 2...... Awolowo Elijah Femi OND cert...... Elijah Femi Awolowo Uni Cert..... Elijah Femi Awolowo NYSC.... Awolowo Elijah Femi Intn'l pp..... Awolowo Elijah Femi
You can see that mine is even more scattered than yours and like you I deliberately removed the "Olu" from the Femi. Just didn't like it there. Also the changing arrangements was brought about by (1) my not consistently using the correct name for "middle" and "first" names and (2) the way the organization arrange names on their certificates. Some put surnames first and others put it last.
I am now consistently using "Femi Elijah" with my surname at the beginning or the end depending on the format given. Femi as first name and Elijah middle. I was erroneously using "Femi" as middle name since "it was in the middle" .
Stop bothering yourself since certificates are yours. You will confidently explain why the anomalies are there when asked.
... but still swear to an affidavit just in case.
God speed!
(***the names above are similar but not my real names) |

I'm really happy for you. May testimony be an opener of miracles to many of us awaiting to share ours too in Jesus name, Amen. Go on to succeed in Germany. waledora: Waooo, my mouth is filled with praises...... I dunno where to start from!! Okay, I started this journey last year January with the hope of gaining admission for winter 2018 which I received 8 rejection letters from the eight different schools. I was devastated because I thought that admission can be easily gotten. I started again during summer 2019 which I applied to several schools (uncountable) both uni-assist and non uni-assist. All gave me rejection letter except TU Chemnitz that forgot to issue me both acceptance or rejection letter and I booked appointment via online. As my interview date was approaching, I was so uncomfortable because I don't have acceptance letter. I mailed Daily Dollar another my admission wahala and he promised to help me which he did. He told me to mail Chemnitz about the status of my application which I did and they replied me with my acceptance Letter ( I was the happiest girl that day). I had my interview on 13/04 and it went well.
About my AM.... After four weeks, I mailed the Alien office Chemnitz about my documents and they said they haven't received it yet. I was worried and I traveled to Lagos to rectify the problems. Lo and behold Paulinus was so nice to me and gave me a good answered. On 16/04, the embassy called(even said my email address is invalid ) and said that I should submit my passport and travel insurance valid for six months which I did(I have to use someone else's email to submit my passport). The next day I went to Lagos to see if I can pick it(visum) up myself but Paulinus drove me away that I should wait for DHL to deliver the documents to me. I started begging Pauly to bless help me out because my enrollment deadline is on 26/04 and Friday and Monday are public holidays. As I was begging those security men to plead on Behalf of me, my VO called me and said that my visa is ready and will soon be handed over to the DHL officer. I quickly told her that I'm in her office right now and she asked "what are you doing in my office? I told her I came to make enquiry if I can collect my visa handy and she said I should then wait to collect it.
That was how I received received my visa and quickly rushed to turkish airline and booked flight immediately.
Waooooo all thanks to Pekky2222, daily dolar, chriswazo, busky101, Ndkings1, Deutsche Mann and everyone, may God bless we all....... Amen!!!!! |
