fineboynl:
If you eat healthy I don’t see why you should have worm? Worm cannot just enter the stomach like that. They enter through contaminated food and water.

That why is advisable to eat hot food. And drink purify and treated water.
There are worms in your stomach whether you eat healthy or not

Ignorance won’t kill us in this country. Many children on Nairaland (and society in general) believe Guinness stout cures malaria. The same people believe exercise is bad for the body. The one I heard recently was “adults do not get worms.”

Thanks, OP. I’ll deworm myself soon.
You are welcome ☺️

Helminths are worm-like intestinal parasites that live inside the digestive system and feed off nutrients from their host, causing the infected person to become malnourished and susceptible to disease and chronic illness.
Adult worms live in a person’s intestine, where they produce thousands of eggs each day. The infection is spread when eggs are passed in human faeces and contaminate the soil – a problem that is common in poor communities with inadequate sanitation. The eggs can be ingested when contaminated soil is found on unwashed vegetables, water sources or unwashed hands.

At first, symptoms of intestinal worms may be mild or non-existent, but infections can lead to diarrhoea, abdominal pain, weakness, anaemia and nutritional problems. The disease can affect cognitive and physical development, and in severe cases can be fatal.

As well as the physical symptoms, intestinal worms can decrease people’s quality of life, affecting their employment, education, fertility and happiness.

Dewarming should not be every month and it should be noted that sugary food do not increase the number of worms in the stomach.

Bitter kola, bitter leaf, action bitters and the likes do not help in dewarming.

Drugs such as albendazole, mebendazole and ovex could be used.

Adults should dewarm about three times a year and for children, after every three months.

When last did you dewarm?
When last did you dewarm your children?
What warm drug did you take?

FamilyIs This Month Of August Fast? by Osiki18(op): 10:32am On Aug 19, 2023
This month got to 19th in a twinkle of an eye.
Some parents who are still gathering school fees for their children against next month's resumption would agree with me that this month is fast.
Tenants who are to pay their rents this month would also say this August is fast. Whereas reverse is the case for salary earners and landlords.

What is your take? Is this month fast or slow?

Nairaland GeneralWhen Last Did You 'chop Life' by Osiki18(op): 10:18am On Aug 19, 2023
Hello everyone, out of curiosity I wanna know something. When last did you 'chop Life'?
Most people are no longer 'chopping' but life is now chopping them.

Some people now find comfort in public transport so as to avoid the hike in bolt transport.

There are people who now cook so as to avoid spending beyond their budget. No more craving of ice cream and 'sweet mouth things' when unnecessary.

Those people who use generator 247 has reduced.

Nightlife is not left out as people are trying to cut cost.

In all of this, there are people who are still enjoying themselves and the hardship has not hit them.

Which party are you?

Jobs/VacanciesCan You Pay To Get Your Dream Job? by Osiki18(op): 10:27am On Aug 08, 2023
The Chairperson of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Muheeba Dankaka, and some of its commissioners were, on Wednesday, engaged in accusations and counter-accusations of impropriety and nepotism at the resumed hearing of the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating job racketeering at federal establishments.

“Dr Dankaka will request the chief executives to come to her office and discuss 10 per cent. She does collect 10 per cent from all MDAs of all the employment she is signing. All those 10 per cent she is collecting, those are the slots that she employs agents that are selling.

“I have two employment letters here of her children in juicy agencies where the annual salary is N6.1 million; the other is N8.2 million. I have the appointment letters here.
From the above, it is seen that Nigeria has a far way to go.
My question is, can you pay to get your dream job? A job with good pay, good working environment, a nice ride, vacation and probably a great apartment.

Will your faith, conscience or family background hinder you from paying to get the job?
And as an employer, what would make you tell potential employees to pay in order to secure their spot?
