Please can someone direct me to the page number with full information about IELTS, whether all spouse visa applicants in Nigeria must write IELTS, what categories of spouse visa applicants in Nigeria are exempted from IELTS and those who are not exempted, the website to register for it etc. Thank you.

No be only page number. Is that even possible. Every successful student here took time to study every page on this thread and took notes. When you are ready to start your spouse visa process, we will know. You sef go know.

Please show us a format. I wasn’t aware of the applicant writing a cover letter.

It's not compulsory for the applicant to write. I didn't write one. Got my visa on first attempt. Your sponsor needs to explain everything about you in his own letter.

Look for someone traveling and give it to them or pay our people that do courier services.....

Since you live London, pop into any Nigerian shop closest to you and get a decent lead......

Thanks for the info. Will try Nigerian shops. I don't want to rely on someone traveling.

Hi all,
Please do they normally give the TB results that very day? I am going to do mine on Monday.

If you are having the chest x-ray, the maximum you will wait is 24hrs to get the results. Sometimes you can get it same day.

The sputum test takes 12weeks.

Yes love, I noted my mistake. Thanks

I'm so sorry. I already replied before I saw where you acknowlegded your mistake. Tried to delete and I couldn't.
Thanks for being really sweet about it.

As far as you’ve gotten your BRP and don’t stay in Nigeria for more than 6 months, you’re cool. Enjoy.

Not 6 months. It's 90 days per year, i.e. 3 months

Thank you very much. Do I need to submit the sponsorship undertaking form with my application?
The documents that should not be older than 28 days, is it 28 days from submission of online application or from when I do my biometrics?

Yes, you need to submit the sponsorship undertaking form. I think it's 28 days from the day of biometrics.

Thank you so much for you reply. Also do you know if they will accept IELTS certificate academic? Its not UKVI but the regular one you can you use for other countries as well.

No, they will not accept that for a spouse visa. It has to be IELTS life skills A1 (Speaking and listening) UKVI. They won't accept any other IELTS test apart from this. I took mine in Lagos

Hi all!
Is it compulsory to attach a court marriage certificate to spouse visa application? Also how long after a court marriage can one submit their application?
I and my husband just got married a month ago(church and trad) and we were unable to do court marriage before he went back to UK for work. Now he wants to come in just so we can do the court marriage and then I can apply for the visa immediately after.
Also, I am presently in the UK and would be applying for my visa from abuja. Should I just leave all my documents with my husband instead of taking them back? And will they accept a TB certificate done here in UK?
Sorry for all the questions
Please any info will help. Many thanks.

No, you do not need to attach a court marriage certificate. We wedded only in church and had trad too. No need for him to come back for a court marriage. Leave all documents with him, he will be posting them to Sheffield. It's always easier and safer to post from within the UK. I don't know about a TB test done in the UK. Maybe others can help you on that. All I know is that there are approved TB centres for every country you are applying from. I did mine at Abuja.

Good luck

How many weeks pregnant before visa was issued? And was your pregnancy bump well pronounced before you boarded the plane and arrived at POE?

My baby arrived less than 2weeks after I got here. I applied at around 7months gone ( almost 8months). Visa was issued in about 28 asking days. I travelled immediately I got the visa.

Pls state it in your application that u are pregnant ..no amount of info u give is a waste. Besides it shows u hv nothin to hide. U can state u got pregnant after d tb test nd include the proof. This ppl can b funny. What works for one may not work for another

Like I said, it's her choice. The ECO will not be there to welcome her at the airport. And please, why does she need to state she got pregnant after her TB test? Does it even make sense to You? Who asked her that one. You people should be reasonable please.

And Yes, certain information is too much. When you concentrate on what they didn't ask you and us not relevant, you risk diverting the ECO's attention from the important parts of your application. People have gotten wrong refusals because of too much info

I got pregnant after doing ma TB test

I didn't indicate I was pregnant and it didn't affect my application. I was about 7months gone when I applied with priority. Visa was granted. Being pregnant doesn't change anything for the ECO

What type of visa are you applying for? If its visiting visa, and you would be due before your visa expires. Ensure you have made arrangements for payments of all child bearing cost assuming visa is issued before you get to LHR/LGW/LCY.........

When did we start paying for child bearing with spouse visa. I didn't pay a dime. My baby is not even up to two years old now

Hello House,
I was refused yesterday and I very sad about it.

The ECO who handled my case wasn’t nice at all.

My husband started a new job in September last year and has been in working before then. So we submitted 6months payslip that is 5months from his recent job and 1 month from his previous job wc ended in August last year. I was refused based on the fact that my husband hasn’t worked with his recent employer for 6months. My point is my husband still works and I believe if they needed his 6th month payslip the ECO should have sent an email. Plus my husband submitted a letter from his employer and also 6 months bank statement. Right now i am torn apart. I dunno if appealing is the way forward or I should just reapply. Please i need an urgent response.

Thanks

Try to read the rules next time. You are supposed to submit 12months pay slips if you haven't been with an employer for up to six months. The refusal is very fair because the rules are not New and were clearly stated.
Good luck with your next application.

Good day house. It's a pleasure to finally join the house. I have been following and reading through the pages of this thread as I intend applying for spousal visa in a few days. Thanks to the awesome members who continue to engage and profer solutions, I have learnt a lot, avoided mistakes and still learning.
Please the matter of licenced marriage certificate from a licenced church ie form E FGN marriage certificate issued in a licenced church to be used for spouse visa has being my concern. Please @justwise and other moderators, will this pose a problem?
what is R FGN? I wedded in the Anglican church and I used mine.

Pls @Aphrodite007, @justwise and the house who has an idea on how I can take the correct English test as going through the NARIC will be to stressful for as I don't have the time to be travelling all the way down to my school from lagos.
2) do I confirm my application after I have filled the online portal form or how do I proceed from the confirmation of my application thanks.
I can only help with your first question. The correct test for the spouse settlement visa is life skills A1. Can be taken only in Lagos and Abuja. You can register and pay online.

I don't think that article applies to applications from outside the UK. The British child is already settled outside the UK. Article 8 applies to families already living together that could be separated. For instance, your second stage visa application from the UK.
Donnurudeen:
Hello house, please is there anyone in the house who has applied base on the new financial requirements and article 8 stated August 14.
My spouse annual salary is 18400 and we have a child who is a British citizen also.I Want to know if we can apply base on article 8
