Computers / Re: Boot Device Not Found by Osnami: 1:36am On Jul 03, 2022
I tried methods 1 and 3 but it didn't work. Couldn't try 2 because I don't know where the battery is. I guess inbuilt. Couldn't try 4 also because I don't have a screwdriver to open the laptop.
The screenshot is the result I got from method 3
post=114204932:
Check your computer's settings

You need to make sure the BIOS is looking for the correct boot drive. Most computers have more than one disc, and if the BIOS isn't programmed to load the right drive first, a boot device not found error will occur.

The “Boot Device Not Found” or “No Boot Device Is Detected” error message occurs when the operating system is unable to find the boot sector of the hard drive or the bootable hard disk. Below we have mentioned some possible reasons for the error:

Wrong boot order in BIOS.
Hard disk connection problem.
Outdated or misconfigured BIOS.
Corrupted bootable disk.
Damaged system files or boot files.
Corrupted MBR/boot sector in the BIOS.

SOLUTIONS
Method 1: Change the Boot Order

Ensure that the hard drive you boot from is the right disk. If you set to boot from an unbootable device, it won’t boot and may display the error message:
“Boot Device Not Found. Please install an operating system to your hard disk”.
In such a situation, you can change the boot order in BIOS and let it boot from the bootable device. To do so, follow the below-given steps:

Restart the computer and then press the F10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu.
After opening the BIOS, go to the boot settings.
Notebook computers: Select Storage > Boot Options.
Desktop computers: Select System Configuration > Boot Options.
Proceed with the on-screen instructions to change the boot order.

Method 2: Perform Hard Reset

When you reset the device, it forces the system to clear and reestablish the software connections between the BIOS and the hardware.
To perform a hard reset, follow the below-listed steps:

Turn off the computer and remove it from any port replicator or docking station.
Then, disconnect all external devices from your computer and unplug the AC adapter.
Remove the battery as well.Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds.
Then, insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the computer.

Note: Don’t connect any of the peripheral devices, such as USB storage devices, external displays, printers, etc.

Now, turn on the computer.
When the start menu opens, select Start Windows Normally with arrow keys and press Enter.

Method 3: Restore BIOS to Default Settings

It may happen that your system is configured to boot from an unbootable disk.
In such a case, resetting your BIOS restores it to the last saved configuration.
Follow these steps:

Turn off the computer.
Wait for at least 5 seconds and then restart the computer.
Repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
On the BIOS setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
Press F10 to Save and Exit.
Select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes.
Then, follow the prompt to restart the computer.

If the computer restarts normally, it means that issue is fixed. If it still displays the “boot device not found” error message, proceed to the next method.

Method 4: Reconnect your Hard Drive

Reconnecting the hard drive may also help you fix Boot Device Not Found 3F0 error.
Follow the below steps:

Turn off the computer.Remove the power cable and battery.
Disconnect your hard drive and then connect it back.Reassemble your computer and turn it on to see if the error persists or not.

We hope.one of these methods work out for you.
With love from Stella Computer Gurus

Thanks for the offer but I am in Abuja
Nonso92:

when it says boot device not found, it means the hard disk cannot be detected on the laptop, probably shifted. If you're anywhere in Surulere or Ikeja, i can help you check it out. For free grin
Computers / Re: Boot Device Not Found by Osnami: 1:24am On Jul 03, 2022
It may be an update issue as the windows usually updates from time to time. I didn't do any settings on it prior to the time it started misbehaving. Presently, it misbehaves and shows the BIOS error like 3 times a day. If I switch it off, it starts working normal again
FluxEmpire:
If you've not tampered with anything like the BIOS, it's likely:
- a corrupt windows
- an update was running and you didn't let it get completed
- a shift in the storage (SSD); though unlikely since they're mostly screwed
- a bad SSD
- you connected an external hard drive removed from a former laptop you have and it's still connected to the laptop; probably the OS on it may have interfered.

If you tampered with settings in the BIOS, it's likely:
- you changed the OS mode from UEFI to legacy; hence, the laptop won't boot to windows as it's not recognizing the OS on it...that's if only the UEFI option was chosen during its installation.
- you changed the boot mode to probably PXE (network boot mode) or it's the only option ticked and the Windows manager (SSD) isn't ticked. You'd have to move the windows manager up as priority over the PXE if it's (Windows manager) ticked.

Exclusive
As it is, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart the laptop and immediately it displays the black screen, keep pressing F10 to go to the BIOS to check if your storage is still recognized. If it's still there, on the MAIN tab, reset settings to the default and see if it solves your problem.

You're in the best option to make it known as to how it all happened... What were you doing before it started acting up? Our solutions can be 50-50 helpful till further info is disclosed.

How do I check the RAM and clean it up?
MarveworldG:
3 things.

Check your RAM, clean it up and install then try again.

If it doesn't work,

Then your boot able file in your hard drive is corrupt.

If not...

Your processor is bad, you will have to replace the processor, it doesn't cost much to replace.

Modified : to everyone quoting that RAM is out of this definitely never had a complicated pc booting problems.
As a technician, try to boot a pc without a ram and get the result. Now you've learned a new thing grin. I can hear you say thanks

Yes. I know paid courses are better but we must consider other people's pocket. I am okay with paid if that is what the majority decides

I know I wasn't tagged,so sorry for that.
But I'd love to join if I'm not too late...

I believe paid courses are better in other words Udemy or coursera. And as time goes on too,we should familiarize ourselves with python documents cos I believe they're a little bit complex to understand..

And WhatsApp should do it....

1. I have been brainstorming for some few days now on the best way to carry everybody along. I think whatsapp or Telegram would be great for easy communication as we will always get notified when anybody posts something.
2. I have downloaded about 16 python video tutorials from YouTube. Each of the videos is about 2Gg and the total size is 15.3 GB.
Comments and reviews of the videos shows that they are good materials as a lot of people have drop positive reviews on the tutorials.
Even though I prefer structured courses like udemy and coursera where we can track progresses and performance, we may adopt to use YouTube videos if we cannot get a free link on Udemy and Cousera

Hi guys, I have compiled the names of everybody that has shown interest.
We need to address and conclude on some things between now and tomorrow so that we can set out to work.

1. What platform are we going to learn from?
Should we adopt a paid course such as Udemy or coursera or we go for free platforms such as YouTube, W3schools and so on?
If you have any link to any good resources, link, platform or tutorial we can use, please, don't hesitate to say it here.
It is better for all of us to learn using the same platform / tutorial so that we can be on the same page and we can easily help those not catching up quickly.

2. Should we use nairaland or WhatsApp? Some people have suggested we create a WhatsApp group. I am indifferent. The most important thing is to choose a platform that will allow for easy communication and interaction for all members.
Kindly let's agree on all these between now and tomorrow.

Talk is cheap. You have been on this thread for years and have never reported a sale. Yet you are crucifying someone reporting half-sale. Why not allow others learn from your sales too
Crazeworld:
Well said.

The only lesson I've learnt from his reports though is keeping your whois privacy open on your premium names. I've read that before both on DNAcademy and Namepros but he just validated it. If there is no lesson to be learnt from your sales or even motivation for your mates, maybe it isn't worth reporting.

I read the sales report of a newbie on Namepros who made his first sale after 8 months from having just 2 domain names. The sale itself wasn't what intrigued me but his dedication and conviction despite discouraging talks. I got to know of Shark Tank from his report now I can't go a day without watching that series. The knowledge gained (even outside domaining) from his experience made me learn something new.

But to your conclusion, this thread won't die. Great 'men' have come and left but it's still standing so this won't kill it.
