Now you can subscribe to Blackberry Complete from MTN for only N1,000 or BB Absolute for N1,500 monthly!Text BIS or BBC to 21600 for BB Absolute or BB Complete I just received that message from mtn. Etisalat is causing real competition in this sector |
Defaramade: No, does not require root to workThanks Def |
Dmedalion: yes,did it 4 som1 few minutes agoThanks for your reply |
Defaramade: Working wella...using it right nowThanks a lot. On a final note,it doesn't require root to work, does it? Just got my phone and would like to be more familiar with it before rooting it. |
cyrielo: @ bolded do you know where one can get that price for that amount maybe i can buy three or twoJust go to the tecno head office nearest to you and put your order in. 2 or 3 maybe too low to get the full benefit sha. 5 and above |
Hotdiamond: Why would someone wait for about three months for the price to reduce by about 4k. You could save up more than that within that period. Who knows you'd even loose interest by that time. That's a good point but waiting also allows the opportunity to benefit from any product improvements made. And it could be less than 25k by then too. So it could more than 4k.I was more importantly just trying to let people know than tecno hasn't deserted its pricing model or its customers by drastically increasing their phone prices as they've been severally accused here |
Also I would like to ask those using the phone currently to give a practical review of the N7's battery performance according to Moderate Use and then Heavy Use and try to give a specific time frame (ie it will last from -am to -pm under moderate use or heavy). I am aware LawalMD was kind enough to do something like this(though he was emphasized that battery performane could be subjective according to its use) but more N7 users need to do this so we can get a general verdict on the battery performance. It's one of the major concerns of prospective buyers and only owners can help clearly address it as there have been some bad reviews of it in comparison with the Infinix Race Bolt's battery performance. *Disclaimer* I do not work for Tecno or have any professional affiliations with Tecno. I'm only interested in helping get the best deal/utility for everyone and clarity on phone performance. Thank you for your anticipated responses |
Thanks to everyone who's made this thread interesting and informative.I understand the furore about the N7's price but we must understand the psychology of marketers and dealers in Nigeria. The current price of the N7 is much more than the price Tecno released the N7 for. Tecno meant for the N7 to have a retail price of 25k.This information is gotten from speaking to Tecno's head office in Edo before and after the phone became available. However distributors and dealers have looked to cash in on the massive popularity and goodwill tecno established thru the N3 to make extraordinary profit from the huge demand surge soon after its release. These are the inevitable market forces that go beyond the control of manufacturers at times. The N7 is being made available to dealers/outlets @ 22.5-23.5k depending on the bulk quantity of order. So those are the dynamics behind the N7 price. If you want to get the best of this market trend,I advise waiting till May//June when demand would begin to see a sharp decline, then retailers will drop the price to a price more reflective to moderate profit margins. So by then you'll be able to get the N7 for 25k and after then for even less. |
favjacksons: QIt doesn't have 3G. Even the sellers tell you that. It doesn't have HSPDA or 3G. In simple terms it is like a curve in terms of network access and mobile internet capabilities |
@jujukemist why do you say it is a disaster?Give us a more detailed review. Thank you |
It doesn't have HSUPA. Just GSM 900/1200 |
So I went investigating today and can categorically say that the D3 does NOT have 3G. I misread the box. Only 2G and cost 12,500 or 13k.I would advise waiting for the N7 which an authorized dealer tells me is out in a month and costs 25k |
For those saying that it doesn't have 3G,have you tried switching to 3G from the network settings? And ensure your sim is in the SIM 1 slot because that's the slot that is 3G-enabled. Slot 2 is 2G only. It would be strange/unlikely that it doesn't have 3G capabilities when previous version are 3G capable. Also,it indicates on the box that it is 3G capable and I doubt a growing company like Tecno would want to damage their brand with such a blatant lie. Thinking of picking one up soon for 15k,phone looks good, solid enough for the price. |
