@ otele, no mean to disrespect but if u had pass thru any tertiary institution in Nigeria, u would know about KEGITES CLUB INT'L(PALMWINE DRINKARD'S KLUB) our duty is to purely promote the culture of our forefathers thru the imbibementation of palmwine as it is the only unadulterated drink in africa, Nothing secret abt it. To get more details IM me on godfrey_imene@yahoo.com. Thanks,
thank you dear. i have really been confused. the members of this club seem to have developed some form of language. and u are right, i did not grow up in nigeria, neither did i attend college in nigeria, so dont blame me for not knowing about it until now.

so, the members meet somewhere to drink palm wine? b/c the way their language goes, it seems like some drunk fellow trying to communicate. no offence

which kind of love grin grin love wetin . . . biko change topic grin grin you see something chop am finish clean mouth come nairaland de confess grin grin grin

if ur woman do am, u go understand? u don commit grieveuos offence. we can laugh as dudes but i dont think girls will find this thing funny.
if my girl cheats on me. . . kaput. e don end. love wetin. once u cheat, you'll do it again(just like domestic violence) .

how about your girlfriend sleeping with your best friend and telling you that she rerally loves u but has a problem controlling herself?

love my foot. . . . angry

b4 u enter a true relationship, you must be a responsible person, you must think of your partner b4 taking any action, even which shirt u wear, you think if she'll like it on you b4 u buy. she becomes a part of you through and through. in that circumstance, you will not even be able to cheat. your privates will not even get erection. that is when u start talking of love. true love. real love. until that happens, you are just another guyman who happens to like a particular girl more than others.

u think say love na mills and boon grin

Foreign AffairsRe: Harvard Professor Gates Arrested At Cambridge by otele(m): 2:27pm On Jul 25, 2009
Ikomi my dear, I'm sure by now u must have heard the president backpedalling on his statement. The Cambridge police standing by thier man, the black officer who witnessed the encounter indicating that mr gates was unnecessarily belligerent. Mr gates' lawyer ruling out legal action. Use ya brain to add up these facts. About the officer's lack of humility , the guy is white, you may call me racist but I don't expect the best of character from a white officer when a black man is involved. That's what I expected gates to know.

ikomi my friend

i dont want to put myself on same level with gates. but i believe that the law should not treat peeps based on their age, race, academic achievement or religion etc.
and i believe that people deserve some respect b/c they are human beings created in the image and likeness of God, not b/c they have great academic records or skin color.

i also believe in humility, regardless of achievements.

back to topic, i believe gates could have acted better. if he did he could have prevented all this hullaballoo.

keep things simple. a single bullet sent into prince ferdinand's body started the first world war which saw the death of millions of europeans. if gates acted better, the police officer may not have arrested him. he wont have watsed a few hrs in police net. all this wahala would not have been. i bet u, a lot of black kids would soon copy his arrogance and you and i know where they'll end up. . . . . . obama doesnt know them.

i'll tell my kids what my daddy told me, stay out of trouble even when trouble comes to ur home, use ur wisdom

Foreign AffairsRe: Harvard Professor Gates Arrested At Cambridge by otele(m): 5:46pm On Jul 24, 2009
Ikomi:
@Otele

You are talking about a 65 year old man, a proffessor.
which is why i expected him to be much more wise

To be a proffessor do you know how many race abuse he has gone through in his lifetime. Moreover he can't even run, he uses a walking stick.

With all this a Policeman still thinks its right to arrest him? No its ovezealous.
age, academic achievement and health status is no immunity against arrest.

Tell you what, if the Policeman shot Gates right there, the man has gotten to his peak, he does'nt really care, but that policeman for the rest of his time in the force would have to be extra catious, any controversy again involving him would really put him on the wrong side of history.
the officer did not shoot him. he arrested the prof in as much civil manner as the prof can permit. and the arrogant prof has yet to reach the peak of his career. or what do u understand by peak? there is no limit to academic achievement.

As you have noticed no one mentions the name of the Policaman, rather its Cambridge Police grin, but Gates is now known across the atlantic.
so that is it eh? it's about gates. not about correctness. okay, now i see. he really is intelligent. everybody knows him now.either as a hero (majority of blacks) or as an arrogant nigger(majority of whites, though they wont admit it.)

That police officer better watch his back, when the President (your commander in chief) says you have acted stupidly. Even your superiors would start imagining you could be stupid. Promotion don dey slow be dat. grin
i'm sure that from now on you'll expect the police to be lax when it comes to arresting minority criminals or purpoted criminals. this is going to make the police job more dificult . . . . . and ultimately reduce crime rate across america. right?

listen, this dude was simply doing his duty. there is a racial bias against blacks. yes, of course i've been accosted by the police a lot of times in london, but how do i respond? i'm black, i'm young, i'm male, this is a social disadvantage in england. go and find out. yet i carry myself about with so much decency that i will not give the officers a chance to mess up my life. gates whould have behaved better. i have girls here in london, black girls who are uncomfortable in the presence of young black males. how can i judge whites when i know even black girls and black women are a wee bit unease in the presence of strange black males?

it is hard being black in UK/US, but how do we respond? hate God for my skin? hell no. i love what i see in the mirror. but fact is, all those who know me know my character. it took an effort.

Foreign AffairsRe: Harvard Professor Gates Arrested At Cambridge by otele(m): 3:54pm On Jul 24, 2009
but this professor is a specialist in race affairs. i still believe he should know better. racism is real and he should have acted better. bad day or no bad day. my daddy told me to stay away from trouble as much as possible. there is something called wisdom, it is different from intelligence. we all know that US(like the UK) is a white country, we know how blacks are treated by the cops, we should respond with some extra caution.

we live in a country where we have to go the extra mile to achieve what a white man will achieve easily. that's a fact. believe it or leave it. many times i've been stopped by the police for no reason, i act camly, gently, cooperatively giving them no excuse to do something stupid. if u act otherwise these guys can cause u unnecessary delays and jurisdiction.

now what did the professor achieve? he has been arrested, bitter racial arguments have errupted in US and even here in the UK, and believe it or leave it, nothing has changed, i'll advice all young black males in the US/UK to play it cool even under provocation by the police. martin luther king and nelson mandela understood this and told their supporters to be calm towards the police.

we should still find time to praise the cambridge police for finding out their error and releasing the man, even b4 it all became public. and dont forget to praise the cops who answered a call as soon as it was made. it doesnt hapen everywhere.

and u blacks in america should stop making so much noise about that arrest. the police should be commended for fast response and the man should be grateful that if he were not around some people are looking out for his home and are ready to call the police. it shows it is a good neighbourhood.

i'm sure he must have been irritated by police presence and used some hard language and then miscommunication and misunderstanding led to inappropriate arrest

The sensitivity and impact of ACF’s proclamation and Na’Allah parliamentary joke may be very difficult for people outside the Niger Delta to actually appreciate. But in the region, there is only one interpretation- the north is only interested in free access to the abundant oil and gas resources in the Niger Delta even if it means killing everybody in the region to achieve that- whether they are criminals, militants or even the harmless natives.

From the standpoint of the people of the Niger Delta, the ACF was only stating what the region had known for a very long time.

Manifest of the people directing the military offensive region shows that the Commander of the JTF operation is an Arewa man, the propagandist for the military operation is an Arewa man and the President that authorized the attack is also an Arewa man. This is in addition to another Arewa man that pushed the bill at the National Assembly asking the JTF to go for a thorough kill. Also, Majority, if not all the serving mobile police officers and soldiers currently in the Niger Delta are Arewa (including the aliens).

Na’Allah was even very clear in expressing this worrying mindset when he said something to the effect that since Nigeria is a populous country with over 140 million people he will not mind so much if the 20 million people of the Niger Delta who are giving the rest of the nation so much ‘headache’ in the exploitation of crude oil in the place are exterminated so that the rest of Nigeria can have peace.
welcome to reality. what the igbos saw in I966 u guys are seeing in 2009. in I966 the northerners were willing to kill all the igbos to achieve their aim. nobody listened. the niger-deltan collaborated with these same arewas and did their thing. after the ''victory'' these same arewas allowed these same niger-deltans to forcefully take the property of the devastated igbos. nobody listened. now you guys are crying foul. who do you think will listen?

I am concerned b/c of the human beings being killed(even if they are niger-deltans) my dad had property in port-harcourt, he left nigeria 4 yrs after the war b/c he could not stand the humiliation from the niger-deltans. (thank God for that, b/c that made sure i was born in britain) but the pain remains in him to this day. even the igbos in the north had their property returned to them, yet our backyard neighbours were so mean.

i just feel for the poor guys dying in the niger-delta but let this be a lesson in history that he who rides the back of the tiger ends up in the belly.
