Considering that you will not be paying for diesel, I cannot lower the rent. It's fair enough and you will be getting a very good bargain. Consider what running your own generator for a whole yearwill cost you.

@ olukunle,
it's not the actual picture of the car. Just something to show the model/type of car i am talking about. Are you in lagos? If yes, we can arrange for you to see the car and then we can negotiate, call me on 08034506122 or drop off your number,

otesy:

The pictures are showing you the type of car in question not the particular car. As for the price, it's an asking price meaning I am open to suggestions.
Politics / Re: What Do We Do About The Nigerian Police? by otesy: 5:26pm On Jul 21, 2008
Condoning the excesses of the police force because of their circumstance isn't going to get us anywhere. The civil servants in the federal and state ministries aren't exactly earning much but they haven't taken to the streets harrassing innocent people who are in the same predicament which they face. They taxi drivers on the streets, the unemployed graduates in all nooks and crannies, the public primary and secondary school teachers haven't decided to collect bribes and harrass innocent people either, and their duty isn't necessarily to enforce the laws of the land. If these people can face and tackle the hardship which they face without commiting the atrocities the Nigerian police is known for today then why do the police have to be different? Agreed, they have challenges but so do 90% of the population of Nigeria. You don't condone the excesses of armed robbers simply because they don't have other sources of income other than their wicked activities so why should the police be condoned. I think the double standard is totally not out of place,

Politics / Re: The Appaling State Of Benin - Ore Road! by otesy: 7:27pm On Jul 20, 2008
The road is a disgrace.   So many have lost their lives there, either through car crashes or armed robbers who take advantage of the fact that the road keeps people there till late at night to attack innocent travellers. It's just a terrible situation.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Police Your Friend Or Your Enemy? by otesy: 11:00pm On Jul 19, 2008
Agreed, corruption may be everywhere but that doesn't mean that the very people who are supposed to help uphold the law now are the greatest perpetrators. What moral justification will he then have to apprehend someone for collecting bribes when he is no better? The problems with the police extend beyond bribe taking. They are totally inhuman and have no conscience. They are wicked and they abuse the authority given them when they are in their uniform. They perpetuate crimes themselves with the weapons they should use in preventing crimes. Imagine a policeman shooting a taxi driver because he refuses to part with his hard earned N20? Is the taxi driver in a better position financially than the police man? What gives you the impression that the taxi driver lives in a well furnished flat? Why has the taxi driver not taken to harrassing innocent individuals simply because his situation isn't exactly comfortable? Everyone in Nigeria is struggling to make ends meet, not just the policemen. That doesn't mean that we all look for ways to harrass and steal from innocent people. If their situation is so bad then they should resign and look for other jobs instead of behaving like they were forcefully recruited into the police force. If you are unaware, majority of people who join the police these days go there simply because they know they can collect bribe, not because they want to help uphold the laws of the land.
Politics / The Appaling State Of Benin - Ore Road! by otesy: 9:21pm On Jul 19, 2008
I don't know about you, but travelling to Lagos by bus from Benin for me has become a really horrifying experience. The road is in terrible condition. The journey which ought to last for about 4 hours now takes 6hours and if you are terribly unlucky, be ready to spend 9 hours making the trip. It happened to me so I know what I am talking about. the volume of traffic on that road is something else coupled with the number of overloaded tippers and trucks which pass the road, it's no wonder it's in the state i is. I don't think that road was initially constructed to carry the load it currently carries and the shoddy repairs done recently can not and is not standing the test of time. The road is already ridden with craters and gulleys. Someone should do something about this before we have valleys in the centre of our express way. Sometimes I wonder if the transport ministry, ministry of works and Ferma are unaware of th untold hardship suffered by travellers when on that road. They spend our money flying over and as such do not understand the extent to which deterioration has set in. Air your views,
Politics / What Do We Do About The Nigerian Police? by otesy: 9:11pm On Jul 19, 2008
Hi Nairalanders. The Nigerian Police have become a serious embarassment to us Nigerians(my opinion, yours may differ). I stand corrected but their salaries have since been improved but their attitude seems to remain the same. they see their uniform as a tool with which to harrass innocents Nigerians on the streets. Imagine a police man at a check point ordeing you to open your hand bag for a stop and search. As if that wasn't enough, he then asked for the wallet which was in the bag to also be opened for him to view its contents. This is no joke, I am dead serious. i couldn't beleive my ears. Was a wallet resembling mine reported missing or was it just a show/abuse of power as a result of the uniform he was wearing? Personally, i think it's a groos abuse of fundamental human rights to ones privacy. Very soon they'll ask for one to strip so they can search, Bloody fools, all they know how to do is collect N20 on the streets of Nigeria when crime is multiplying and no one even bothers to try to solve these crimes. What do we do to reform the police force and restore it's dignity. I don't know about you but I don't have any iota of respect for these people. Please air your views,
