The letter is available on this forum and also in the punch papers. There was no mention of salary. Next week is not far again, let us all take a chill pill, relax and enjoy the ride. Make sure you resume in school so that you give us first hand information. |
Very funny that ASUU executives have their children schooling in other countries. There is a difference between lies and truth. |
Fake talk, I am in 300L, I was given a place in hostel on ecampus, but I didn't book for the hostel space. Hostel is now for all, just have to pay ur school fees early.
Leave the guy, he think say everybody papa get money to dey rent house for choba like him. |
Rayod: @ Sir otoks, why wasnt the basic list released on Friday? Is there any problem? There is no problem per se, there has not been electricity in the campus for like 3 weeks now forcing staff morale to an all time low and you may note that the heat has been very deadly in this particular time frame. This coming week will be full of drama and let us see how it goes. |
screenagerjoe: anybody stayin in d hostels dts nt in 100l went thru d backdoor, even mandela costs a bit for a space. Lecturers boys quarters goes for about 100k a year, those sport hostels like presidential goes for 50k for a space, others like aminu kano nd kwame nkrumah is approx 20k, so i tynk its equally xpensive. Offcampus accomodation ranges from 50k to 170k. Depends on ur pick. So its equally d same tyn. Am talking of UNIPOrT here. So u can do ur deductions urself. There is no deductions to be made, specifics were mentioned and as usual you beat around the bush like the FG is doing dodging the points raised creating a false impression of a great university. |
Police and students never tolerate themselves. As usual and typical of Nigeria, the universities will be made to foot the operational bills e.g fueling the vehicles and paying them feeding allowance. When the yoke becomes too heavy then casala go burst. |
2012/2013 and 2013/2014 to resume the same time. |
The about to be released revised school calender we hear will have the 2 sets of year 1 in school at the same time. This will be a wonderful thing, wonderful e pass wonder. |
We are all equal on this thread; i'm only relaying to you the mood on ground with majority of the uniport lecturers. There are some that want to teach about 5% or less mostly in the managerial cadre. The 95% will not teach until ASUU so directs but even at that there is internal crises which the uniport mgt must sort out before lectures can start. If the mood changes otherwise you will be informed here first at least up to some point for as soundtruth has gone so will i go too for a while but not for long. |
Did you guys read the letter from ASUU to GEJ? Did you see anywhere where salary was mentioned? Lets be factual in our debate & be enlightened. |
Samgreguc: Otokx, am beginning to smell someone close to you as an ASUU member but, don't worry you must know wattsup. Ask him/her what they've being using our school fees(including Predegrees, regular, Post graduates and others) for, ask him/her what they do with the PTF, ETF, TETFUND and also ask them if they do recieve any external donation. Or do they use it to pay lecturersYou should ask your student union leaders what they do with the dues collected from students plus the money extorted from business operators in the name of matriculation, convocation, etc. |
Samgreguc: Otokx, stop getting urself decieved, in UNIPORT there where you school, do they have enough accomodation for every student? Infact, are 200 level student and above allowed to grace the hostels?Go to the hostels and you will see every level of student living there. |
Oya UNN students report to the dance floor. |
Sissie: No, it is not right, in Islam it's not allowed for a muslim lady to marry a non Muslim.are you a muslim? |
Its now 7 days since ASUU wrote to GEJ thru WIKE. Let us hope WIKE actually delivered the letter to GEJ. |
LARRYDKING: Some students comment as if they are not even willing to go back 2 sch anymore... What's really happening?there is no need coming back and then wandering all over the place because majority of the lecturers are not teaching. |
They forgot to add with hard labor |
xtophy: Rich students my foot!!!!! sheh na all 9ja varsities get school campuses.... some ppl just bark 4 talking sakeASUU is asking government to build more hostels and classrooms but you guys do not support ASUU and now you are complaining about hostel accommodation. Please do not complain, keep renting. |
xtophy: i rili nid 2 be ur friend........u're veri sensible and intelligentThe truth be told ASUU is not going to loose anything; the only students that lost are the rich ones who shunned school accommodation and went to stay in off campus apartments. |
mi xpressive: i wonder o! i just laff when i see posts about d directive not working...already a faction of ASUU Unilag came out to say they will resume. Just 'cus others are not bold enuff to do d same doesnt mean they wont rush backLet us all hold our peace; December 4 is not far away then we can all rush to the classroom together hand in hand like some demon possessed kamikazee yaps. |
answer me na, is ASUU asking for their 4months salary or not?
Their salary was never a subject of debate, the 4 points they are talking about is in the letter on page 59 of this thread. |
odizeey: my broda,u dey bliv leta wen dem put for internet,no b for TV n radio stations dem dey tlk abt salary? Abeg I don tire my brodamy brother man, everybody don tire; e be like we go just sleep wake up next year. |
odizeey: na for ASUU secretariat,or h/q u go collect am? Abi dem gv u?it is on page 59 of this thread, you just proved the saying right that if you want to hide something from a black man, put in writing and keep it in a book, he will not see it. |
odizeey: I tire o,leave am mk dem dey show am photoshop letaWho photoshopped it? Is it nairaland or who? |
are you now saying ASUU never made mention of govt paying their 4months salary??
We are referring to the written letter, can you please show us? |
odizeey: bro no be for ur eye dem agree d 1tr ish? Which purpose con defeat? D 100 bil is nt d ish here its d salary n ASUU came again saying dat its 225 bilion a year nt 220 again. Person wen gt sense dey do like dat?Did you read the letter from ASUU to GEJ? Kindly show us the paragraph and sentence that salary was referred to. |
striker9: Intelligent post, don't really know if FG can pull this off. Some lecturers might opt out of the strike cause ASUU has lost public sympathy.Interesting; actually tempted to let out a big laugh but oh well December 4 is not far away. |
It is looking like next week. |
nbright: Me too... Patiently waiting for Dec. 4th... Let me see how those belle carrying lecturers protest... If I am there, I will join to stone the lecturers (ASUU)... Obasanjo did it during his tenure, what's wrong if Jonathan do the same?.Watch your tongue boy, that people disagree does not mean insults should be thrown and OBJ did nothing of such, in OBJ's time he increased university staff salaries and he secured their vote continually and of course the votes of their students. |
The lecturers in UNIPORT are enraged and are solidly behind ASUU; they can't wait for December 4 to reach so that FG will know how far. |
Daniyemi: Maybe ASUU have no idea that 60percent of ASUU members wants the strike suspended. This is a satanic lie, WIKE just guaranteed 98% support for ASUU, the university lecturers who were on the fence have now taken a stand behind ASUU. |
Nerosoft19: sir otokx, good morning sir... Do you think uniport will comply wit d directives from d fedral government?? If dey will how soon? Last nyt on network news uniabuja advertised dia reopening.ASUU did not close the schools down, it was FG that did. If they want to reopen it, they are free to but the question is will students receive lectures? |
