For how long have we been saying this? The Olympics will end and Nigerians will forget about it. Another 3 years time, we will start preparing again few months to the event. Look at the Jamaicans and their ISSA secondary school championship. That's why they do well in track and field.
Africa has failed again at this Olympics. South Africa, Ethiopia and Kenya are struggling in areas where they used to do well. Nigeria did not even qualify for football. I don't see any African country winning above 3 gold medals. Again the worst performing continent at the Olympics by a long chalk. We can do better.

We indeed need to catch them young but where are the facilities? How many federal colleges can boast of a handball pitch? Do we even have a viable National federation? What happened to the university games? National Sports Festival nko? What a country?

I remember These guy from Umuahia Abia state Me Eke Kalu (AKA Scorpion) that won gold in National Sports Festival, Benin City, Edo state. Why wasn't he pushed to the Olympics to harness and showcase his full full potential?

Gold in which sport, where they tested by WADA? The facilities and structure has deteriorated over the years.

even when you build, surprise, surprise the people will hardly use the facilities. It is just not in the "Nigerian" mentality. We need to introduce such mechanisms via the primary and secondary school systems.
