Alfa Seltzer: Good morning Striktly ,LWKMD!!! You are so lucky that I have dropped this 'olodo' thingy ![]() It seems you and some other persons are used to striktlymi... Hmmm...let me revert to that id then. |
JeSoul: llol. Is everything ok now strik.?Everything seem okay now I guess...thanks! ![]() |
Uyi Iredia: In my late teens how would I have responded to this topic. Probably like "It is true. People who don't believe in God will go to hell."...and you had to go all the way back to a thread opened in 2007 to say the above? ![]() |
Hmmmm.... But is pidgin English not difficult to read, write and understand? |
Kay 17: Isn't it dangerous to believe God's laws can be obsolete? If the divine inspired Mosaic laws can be outdated and out of touch, likewise Jesus' Gospel. And it seems Christianity is joining that boat.Nah men! The covenants God established with man were in phases. He had a covenant with Abraham, renewed same at the time of Moses and now the new covenant he promised was fulfilled in Jesus. Jeremiah 31:31 King James Version (KJV) 31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: This covenant Jesus came to fulfil supersedes any other and it is the will of God that it be so, not the will of man. I don't know what you mean by the Gospel of Christ is going out of touch. |
Alfa Seltzer: Chai! I don suffer. See accusation. That was not why I told him that. I told him that because he insinuated that a family should "accept". No, I don't agree with him. To heaven with what the family thinks! When you find the one you love, every other opinion can go hug a transformer including that of family members.I agree with the above but skeptical about the bold... |
Logicboy03: Alfa, sometimes is not in his right mind....I believe Alfa speaks his mind... ![]() |
Alfa Seltzer: You are a dissappointment. The christians dug you a hole and you fell right inside.Hmmmm... If Alfa can say this to a fellow Atheist just because the thought of accepting a Christian in law, I wonder what would happen if that poor child brings along a Christian fiance... |
Alfa Seltzer: back to school stiktly, back to school.Guy enjoy! |
Alfa Seltzer: Please go back to school. So if your child disowns you what does she call you? "Not my father"? Silly christians. Whether you own or disown, she is still "your" daughter. Can someone tell me why this guy doesn't deserve the title 'Olodo'? |
Deep Sight: ^^^ If indeed you wish to toe the escapist line of claiming that Christians are not subject to the law, then please remember that this injunction against blood was repeated in the New Testament - long after Christ's departure!Your post above reveals one thing: You did not read my post!!! |
Alfa Seltzer: Here you go again. I can't disown something I don't own in the first place. Unlike christian daughters, my daughter is not my property. My "getting angry" is irrelevant. I might as well start hitting my head on the wall because of my love of Satan. All irrelevant. She does what she wants. Her life doesn't depend on my own choices. You see the bold? That is the very definition of 'owning' and explains 'disowning'...now she is your daughter but after that she will seize to be your daughter. Do you now understand what it means to disown a daughter? I am not saying your daughter is part of your 'possession' as you are making it look. Alfa Seltzer: So, in the video, they are all bigots, including the daughter. Why should the dad "allow" the lady to make her own choice? What type of nonsense is this? Listen to your self. Who is he to "allow"? You find that normal that a full grown woman should be "allowed"? Maybe that's the norm with christians but glory be to Satan all composants of my family are free. Everybody make their own choices. Don't compare me to christians! Spits! You really have a way of tweaking something to your favour...don't you? Anyways, since you refuse to understand what I meant, let me explain it to you. By 'allowing' a child to make her choice, I mean respecting whatever decision she has to make while you continue to love her. Are you aware that you have dodged saying what your reaction would be if your daughter brings a christian dude or better still a pastor into your home as her fiance? |
Deep Sight: What is food, if not that which is absorbed for strength and vigour and life? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Nah men... The coming of Christ changed a whole lot for Christians. A number of laws that were applicable in the old were rendered obsolete with the coming of Christ. Like Christ said, he came to fulfil the law and not to abolish it. He carried on himself the weight of the law for our sake and in the process established a new covenant which Christians are expected to live by. Do note that when the Apostles gave specific instructions to the gentile converts not to eat food sacrificed to idols and the rest, they were not saying that those things were bad in themselves but on the contrary they were saying that the gentiles were not yet strong enough in the faith and this might lead them to doing things the wrong way. Paul puts it succinctly: 1 Corinthians 8:1-2 King James Version (KJV) 1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. 2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. Since you might not be interested in what sacred scriptures has to say about the matter, I will spare you further quotes but in the event that you are interested, the whole of that chapter explains why the gentiles were asked to abstain from certain food items. I believe Demi has provided us with a reference from sacred scriptures which shows that Christians are not bound by the law of abstaining from eating some specific food items. |
truthislight: Is blood food ?Even the passages you quoted were referring to the use of blood for food. @OP: There is nothing wrong with blood transfusion if done correctly. |
Alfa Seltzer: You don't understand me at all.You miss the point here... The dad was ready to allow the lady make her own choice though very reluctantly. I am saying your reaction would not have been different from what was on the video. I dare say you might even be angry with your daughter for life because of the choice she made, if not disown her. |
musKeeto: Stop being OLODOS this morning. ![]() |
Alfa Seltzer: bunch of bigotsHmmmm..... Let me understand this Alfa... You mean if I come to your home and seek your daughter's hand while remaining a christian, you would welcome me with open arms? I don't think so...you would most likely throw me out of your home if you suspect that I am in any way near Jesus. |
^^^ Since that's what you want for yourself then good. Enjoy your tithe paying. |
Logicboy03: @ bold- that was the real context of the comment. This had nothing to do with Kalissi. Or do you think Geoofrey's grandfather would rule like Kalissi?Olodo! The reference to the Kalisi was meant to show what the 'author' of the book had in mind. To get a proper grasp of whatever any literary work is meant to portray, we look at very many different things and not just what one character said. Comparing the rule of Geoffery and that of the Kalissi gives meaning to the comment of 'the hand' and helps the reader\viewer have proper grasp of the author's underlying meaning of the phrase... |
Logicboy03: Another dumbazz that doesnt know the meaning of subtext....I am beginning to think that you make use of words because they appeal to you and not because you understand them...now humour us with what you think a subtext is and tell us why you think my OP misses the mark. And for your info, the comment was made because Geoffery is fond of saying: "I am the king". Olodo! |
Remarkable story! |
Hi Unc, Do you feel the need to pay tithe or you do it because you believe it is necessary? Now to your question: I do not see the logic behind paying tithes on borrowed money. Technically speaking, the money is not yours so why pay tithe on someone elses money? |
Olodo! There is nothing religious about that statement...The 'hand of the king' only made that comment to show what true kings do: Rule with authority and not power; in other words, a king should have legitimacy bestowed upon him by the people's voluntary acceptance of his reign. This is in contrast to what 'the Kalisi' has achieved. She is one of the contenders for the crown of the seven kingdoms but she gathers an army of men, women and children who are willing to do anything for her, even die for her, because she succeeded in getting legitimacy from them using peaceful means as against the brute force of King Geoffrey. Your thoughts on movies and religion is making me see why PG is recommended for some persons. You do need Parental Guidance when seeing movies. |
Logicboy03: Agreed. Delusions of grandeurI'd be surprised if you didn't...Olodo must agree with Olodo! |
Van snickers: Deluded as usual.Olodo as usual!!! |
^^^ ...and you are like a silly clown! |
timothycel: 1 Corinthians 14:34&35 "34 Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church"Well, you are free to do whatever you want to...it's your right. But do note that not every instruction Paul gives can be categorized as divine law. Like I said before, Paul gave those laws because he felt they were good for the church at the time. The question you should ask yourself is what law was Paul talking about? Divine law? Or a personal law? The phrase "But I..." as used in the passage of Sacred scriptures is a pointer to which of the laws he was refering to: 1 Timothy 2:12 King James Version (KJV) 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. Paul did not mince words when he made us understand that not every instruction he gives is to be considered as divinely inspired when he said: 1 Corinthians 7:25 King James Version (KJV) 25 Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. It is very clear from the above that there are some instructions given by Paul which are his own thoughts and being his thoughts on the matter are subject to change. It is key that we understand which laws are directly from God and which are put up for the good of the church but for which no instruction was gotten from God. Anyways, like I said before, you have a right to reject whatever I say but do note this, do not go about Lording it over every woman you see in the streets because it is said that a woman should not have authority over a man, otherwise you might just find yourself in jail or out of a job. |
Uyi Iredia: $hit happens. We are all human. Seun could you defend yourself ?I agree that we are humans but manmustwac should stop defending thrash! |
Logicboy03: You believe outcast's lies? The guy was banned for trolling...end of story....OLDOD!!! |
Uyi Iredia: Agreed.seun disrespected JeSoul and accused her falsely in the process...I was the first on the scene, I guess, and demonstrated that his accusations were baseless and his disrespect for her was uncalled for. The very next day he sent his lieutenant after me as a result. |
