Foreign Affairs / Re: Yemi Adenuga Loses Selection In Ireland Elections by Ovamboland(m): 3:08pm On Sep 21 |
Lizzysamuel: It was just a mere nomination she announced, and someone else who was equally nominated got selected. Thats the reality of representative democracy, it's not a must to win all the time. Those who cant stomach defeat don't deserve victory in a democracy Nothing is amiss or warrant tears and tantrums here except for immature folks |

Raider76: Dangote that is already exporting his fuel to some ECOWAS countries and Europe is the same somebody is telling us is making sub-standard fuel It's government's choice to see what benefits the country the most if local companies supply us and keep profits here with their workers transacting in our economy or they want Nigeria to import and support the businesses and workers located in other countries 5 Likes |

KarlTom: Many people don't know what advanced countries had to endure before they developed their admirable technology and economic power today. USA had to fight a war to assert the right of American products to be protected from higher quality and cheaper European manufactured products. The southern aristocrats rich from slavery preferred European products over low quality local substitutes and they opposed high tariffs. The slavery issue was the flash point but not the main motivation from the North that was getting industrialised China did not waste her foreign exchange to finance luxury imports for her citizens when they started. The head od state said let the people walk on the 2 legs if they can't afford cars, and use their steel even of low quality until the Chinese learnt how to make high quality steel. Today China produces over 50% of total world steel output and export cars all over the world Development doesn't come cheap or while everything is at your beck and call except you discover natural resources to provide funds far beyond your population. In the 70's Nigeria needed to export 25-30 million barrels of oil daily to earn per capita what the Saudi or UAE is earning. But we attempted to do what are doing with our 2m barrels. Today for us to match up with them in terms of per capita earnings we need to export 70m barrels daily but we only do 1.3m barrels and some still believe if politicians stop stealing oil money we will be living like Saudi Saudi is doing 12m barrels daily while UAE is doing about 3m barrels daily Total world oil export market is 110m barrels of oil daily, and Nigeria needs to supply 70m out of it to earn like Saudi 9 Likes 4 Shares |

Politics / Re: We Will Have Diesel, Aviation Fuel In The Market This Month - Dangote Refinery by Ovamboland(m): 12:05pm On Jan 14 |
tunjijones: Is the impact of continuous Import of fuel any better? |
Business / Re: Video Of production Flaring At Dangote Refinery by Ovamboland(m): 6:45am On Jan 14 |
Magnetic010: Even if it is slightly more expensive it is better for the economy that such huge value is being added to our local raw materials, and that Nigerians will start having refinery experience that can translated to other petrochemical industries, increasing the local talent pool. The number of service industries to support the refinery in Nigeria is numerous and will benefit the economy with new knowledge that can be used to develop other sectors in steel fabrication, spare parts production, chemical input factory, consumables like gloves, goggles, safety shoes, safety hats, and services to the workers. All these activities would have been domiciled in the host country of the refineries that have supplying us with billions of liters of fuel in the last 30 years |
Business / Re: Video Of production Flaring At Dangote Refinery by Ovamboland(m): 6:38am On Jan 14 |
Richtaiwo: the refineries that supply the 50m liters offuel we consume per day, don't they have their own flares sending the carbon monoxide to the same ozone layer? Difference is while they are productive you are consumers Now you are envious that a fellow Nigerian is becoming productive and taking over foreign productivity This is the type of statement one would expect from a citizen of the country whose refinery would lose Nigeria's fuel business |
Business / Re: Video Of production Flaring At Dangote Refinery by Ovamboland(m): 6:34am On Jan 14 |

dubaino: This seaport was facilitated by Tinubu when he was lagos state governor, and now it's getting completed. Too bad you have mostly useless state governors in all those states you listed, they were in PDP as ruling party for 16 years and had no idea what to do with that access. See what Lagos is doing after aligning with the center in just 8 years. |
