Everything must be done by the federal govennment. What about the local govt that collect taxes from d area?

Well i stayed in that place from march-july.... The problem is that all the water from agege and sango side flow towards that area... The place is a valley. So anytime rain falls, the canal would fill up and begin to overflow back into the streets..... But that particular area, i'm sure there's a design flaw dia that is preventing water from flowing away.... Just like water remains in d bottom of a bowl..

The Fed Govt/jonathan cant be everywhere at every time. Lagos-Ibadan express is being fixed. The govt is trying.

All these people complaing.... U all saw a thread on jebba-mokwa road...... Even onitsha-enugu road is nothing to write home about..... This Ile epo road is still far better and passable than those roads..... We should learn to Appreciate and maintain what we have.

I dont know about bmw but mercedes and audi parts arent expensive as people assume them to be.

african/Nigeria's education system is the problem....

Why do we go to school? The answer u get is that we go to school to learn. To learn what? To basic learn things that have been discovered since the 17th century.

In the developed countries on the other hand, the education system is primmed towards discovering and launching new products and theories.

The students are taught from early age the basics of production (like we do as children producing toys out of scrap)... When u watch cartoons and movies, you will see children being portred as engineers trying to discover new things e.g. Ra One, Endhiran bollywood movies.... We all watched Voltron and other tech cartoons as kids, abi? Those movies and cartoons are targeted at orienting their children to be problem solving, bring out new things out of their environment, mental independence et al.

Practicals, projects and prototype design/building are part of their education system.

But here in Nigeria/Africa, everything is book centered. We are made to read and cram obselete things that have been discovered long ago.... As if that is not humiliating enough, there are no structures on ground to enable students demonstrate/practical the outdated knowledge they are cramming. We only study to pass exams.... After that, we forget about books.

You dont expect Nigeria to be engineering tunned with that kind of education system, do you?

Until Nigeria/African countries overhaul their education goals and objectives from learning/studying oriented to discovery/project oriented, nothing will change.

Look at Ghana... What do they even produce there? Nothing.... They killed their industries when they adopted IMF's liberal trade policy.... Now they're in big mess.

Learning/studying is just useless if you dont put what you have been learning into practice.......!!..

i dont think its life threatening. The road should be free when coasting plus your foot wont be on the accelerator...... The worse u can end up with is a totalled gear.

it depend on the type of transmission. If its hydraulic transmission, ok.... But with cvvt, no no.

wo.... When u are low on fuel and u are afraid of your vehicle going off, you wont even think about the gear. Getting home will be ur no 1 priority.

Well, what i know is that the engine/torque converter disengage at low rpm so shifting from D to N while in motion doesnt affect the gear....

But if u mistakenly shift to Reverse instead of Neutral....

My question now how much did you pay the first guy that he is complaining of money?
Remember if you pay less they will stop on the way when they start the real task but when the pay is worth the stress and sleepless night, every good programmer will always deliver.

money is not the problem o. The issue is naija mentality.... Once they collect payment, they will start lagging and telling stories. I gave him 15k to start work and promised another 30k when the design is ready..... I kno 15k is small but am managing myself... The backer would pay fully once all is done fine..... But i didnt see anything at all. The database part is Actually his headache. I dont think he has the tools/means to set it...

The second programmer showed me a good design and UI sha.

If am low on fuel, i rev up my sienna, take foot off the accelerator and shift the gear to Neutral...... When the car slows down, i shift it back to D, rev up, back to Neutral again.

dear all,

after almost 2 years post nysc without work, i found a sponsor who is willing to push and get state govt edu contract. So i began looking for a programmer to build the result processing system...

The first programmer gave two weeks finish date... But after collecting part payment started complaining that the workload is too heavy for him, his system crashed, he needs more hands, more money bla bla bla.

After blowing a month away with nothing to show for it, i got another programmer on partnership basis (which means am not paying him) he came up with the system design and UI.... But since than has blanked out.

Makes me wonder whats so tough about setting up a result processing system that the two guys couldnt do? I kno the design part require lots of patience.... But after that, are there any other issues that could have stalled the work?

The guys wont say what exactly d problem is.

SisiJenni, if u fancy Toyota highlander, go for the 2nd Generation 2007-2013.....

Cos i cant imagine anyone in his/her right sense spending 2m on a 1st generation highlander.

Lexus RX is also good. The first time i got into a RX, I was awed at the cosy, neat, and plush interior. The owner drives it daily through floods and sandy roads (typical niger-delta village roads). So it should meet your off road/rugged parameter

Oweniwe, the Highlander is NOT small and compact. It is a midsized CUV. RAV4, CRV, Sportage, Escape etc are compact CUVs.

The highlander is longer, wider, taller and has more internal space than those above mentioned compact SUVs. It competes with pilot.

i know.... But the honda pilot, acura mdx, nissan pathfinder and mercedes ml are bigger and higher than the toyota highlander size wise.

Thats why i said d highlander is "smaller" in size.

My aunt owns a 3 row Highlander..... The third row is just dia for decoration cos an average size teen/adult cant comfortably sit dia. Only small children would fit in. The interior space is just ok..... Neither roomy, nor cramped.
