Nigerian Christian Youth Movement Launches Nationwide Search for the Country’s Next Worship Leader

LAGOS, NIGERIA — July 16, 2026

Somewhere in Nigeria this month, a young worship leader is recording an audition on their phone, hoping it’s good enough to be one of 2,500 entries into a competition that could change the direction of their life.

That competition is The Next Worship Minister — TNWM for short — and as of today, registration is officially open. Organized by Youth In Christ Network (YICN), a non-denominational Christian youth movement, TNWM is being positioned as one of the country’s largest gospel talent searches this year, with a ₦5,000,000 prize package for the eventual winner: ₦4 million in a recording and PR deal, plus ₦1 million in cash.

But talk to the people behind it, and the prize money quickly becomes the least interesting part of the story.

“We’re not looking for entertainers,” said Mr. Gbenga, the convener of YICN, in comments provided ahead of the launch. “We are looking for worship ministers who carry something real. People who understand that worship isn’t just about singing — it’s about leading a generation into God’s presence.”

That distinction — between performance and what YICN calls “worship-leading capacity” — is baked into how the competition actually works. Entrants aren’t just judged on vocal ability. According to organizers, judges will also weigh what they describe as spiritual authenticity and a contestant’s ability to draw an audience into genuine worship, not just deliver a polished performance.

The mechanics of the contest are straightforward, even if the odds are steep. Of the 2,500 people expected to apply nationwide, the field will be cut to 1,000 after an initial screening, then to 100 after an online submission round, then to 20 after judged evaluation. A live finals round narrows that to a final five, and one winner. That winner will go on to perform live at YICN’s flagship AIP (“Anything Is Possible”) concert in Lagos this December — the moment the group has built much of its year-end programming around.

Entry is open to anyone aged 18 to 45 with what organizers describe simply as “a gift for worship” — the competition is explicitly not limited to professional musicians or church-employed worship leaders.

The competition’s origin traces back to what Mr. Gbenga describes as a call he says he received on three separate occasions before acting on it. The first gathering connected to that call, he said, drew 36 people in person, with others joining online — a modest starting point for what YICN now frames as a movement rather than a church or fellowship. “Non-denominational. Open to everyone. Focused on worship that brings people together, not divides them,” is how the organization describes its own identity.

That framing extends to how YICN talks about the competition itself. Runners-up — the four contestants who make the top five but don’t win outright — aren’t simply sent home. YICN says it is committed to finding additional opportunities for them, alongside a broader community it’s building around the contest: outreach programs, professional development, and regular worship nights for people who want to be involved without competing.

For a country with no shortage of singing competitions, TNWM is betting that its pitch — treating a talent search as something closer to a commissioning than a contest — will resonate with a young, digitally connected, and heavily Christian population looking for something to belong to, not just watch.

This guys are nuts .... 5.0 lot size ? Let me explain like this.
1.0 lot size means for every pip the market moves , it moves in $10. So - 1 pip equals - $10 dollars.
5.0 lot size means $50 for every pip movement,
- 1 pip equals -$50 , so you said you would have lost only $65 , that's less than 2 pips ... how ya that possible ??
Do you even understand what your saying ?
Your pip target is 100 pips , your profit would have been $5000 not $500 .

Dont give your money to novice like this oo guys .
