Hi Everyone.
So we r in the process of applying for my Spouse Settlement Visa. I got my transcripts, ( had to pay extra for them to give it to me, lol). Confirmation Of English Language Proficency, And letter of Attestation confirming My Name, course, dept, the also stated that my degree is still goin through inscription and signing and will be issued soon. Statement Of Result was issued in place. I submitted the above doc to UK Naric and I got this response from them. Does anyone know what it means? Thanks

Simply put, they need your degree certificate to be able to remove the disclaimer. It might be nice to get that to them before the Naric letter is issued to prevent unwanted disclaimers.

In the meantime, if there is anyone here who had this type of disclaimer from Naric and didn't have any issues, I'm sure they will respond to your message shortly.

I disagree with oxygyne's statement.
'Mrs' is a title for married women while 'Miss' is for unmarried women. It doesn't matter if you change your name or not.

Just confirmed that there were no questions relating to title in all the forms filled for the settlement application.

Ok thank you very much. I don’t have intentions to lie lol. But I’m my application after my wedding will I put Miss or Mrs and my maiden name? Because I won’t do a change of name until I get to the uk.

Sure I know you don't intend to lie, I just mean state the details as is as at the time of filling the form. I believe you will still be a miss but you can decide to use Mrs. as long as your maiden name remains the same. I was married to my wife when we applied but we still maintained our individual names and we had no issues.

Loritess:

Good afternoon, please I’m back again with another question. Since I’ll be doing my IELTS before I get married and I’ll be using my maiden name for registration. Will I use ‘Miss’ when filling the form where the title is and also in other applications?

In my experience thus far with forms like these, it is always good and effective to be as honest as possible without over thinking the issue.

Will you be married by the time you take the test?
1. If No. Then put your maiden name with Miss in the section
2. If Yes. Then put your marriage name with Mrs.(that's if you have already done the change of name)

No need to worry so much about this, you should be more concerned about choosing the right test as highlighted by @queenantia. Please ensure you sit for the right test.

Hello good people,

I’m pleased to inform you guys that I have finally gotten my spouse visa. After an initial refusal of an almost 6 months application in December 2016, I waited the whole of 2017 together with my wife to work on getting it right for the next application and thank God, the long wait paid off now.

Timeline:
Application submitted: March 2nd
Biometrics: March 8th
Documents submitted: March 15th
Ready to pick up email: June 18th
Passport picked up: June 19th

Wife called UKVI at around 60 working days and they said a decision has been made.

No “decision made” email

Total of of 69 working days (excluding bank holidays)

Thank God and thanks to everyone that contributed one way or the other on this forum. I’m happy to tell you guys that I’m officially a graduate of this school now

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS!! TIME TO FLY AWAY!!

It's not compulsory for the applicant to write. I didn't write one. Got my visa on first attempt. Your sponsor needs to explain everything about you in his own letter.

The Sponsor's letter and Applicant's letter will contain almost the same storyline, so you might as well just include all the details in one single letter which will preferably be the Sponsor's letter. In my case, we had both and we didn't have any issues as well.

My take is that the letter is not as important as the supporting docs.

Application received on TLS 5th March 2018
Documents sent to Sheffield 13th March 2018
Decision made email 12th June 2018
Passport ready for collection 12th June 2018
Collected my passport today,13th June 2018
Vignette stamp on my passport with one month left to be in Nigeria
A very big thank you to Lexus. You are just one great guy with a large heart. Thanks for being there for us all. To every single person who took out time to drop a line to help ease off tension by way of advise/suggestion,God bless you real good.
To those still waiting for their result,it shall surely end in praise.
Thank you.

Congrats once again but I envy you guys that go for standard applications. I can imagine how frustrating the wait will be and then you can't travel for almost 4 months but then again the 551 quid priority is ridiculously high, so!!!

Hi everyone,

I recently got married , and I am yet to change my name to my hubbys and would be applying for the spouse visa with my maiden name. Will this be an issue and will I be able to change it after getting the visa.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks.

I don't think that will be an issue, in our case we maintained our individual names for the application and it was not an issue.

Yes, I believe you can change your name (to any name you want) after getting the visa but you will have to notify home office of the name change.

Hi all,
My hubby has just received our supporting doc. Pls when do you think I'd likely get a mail to pick up my passport? This is taking forever and the apprehension is building up as the days go by...

No hard and fast rule really, I received the email to pick up a day before or the same day we got our documents back. But for some, they received the email to pick up and didn't receive supporting documents until days after and for others the reverse of this process.

For now, just keep calm and be hopeful that you got the visa. All the best.

Just got US B1/B2 visa approval. The white woman on window 9 or 10 (not sure which) didn't even ask anything related to money for those that think you need millions in your account to present before them.Something that can take of the trip is ok.You can save towards it.

I actually got the Visa in 2015 which expired in 2017 without using it. I applied via dropbox but was advised to schedule another interview.
I saw a number of families and individuals that were denied.

Hi,
Please what do you mean when you say "I applied via dropbox but was advised to schedule another interview"
Was your passport returned through dropbox process with a note asking you to schedule an interview? or you withdraw your Dropbox application and decided to use the interview process.

expecting your quick response.

Thank you.

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to go all silent. My application was not successful. Its not exactly funny dealing with a refusal.
Reason for refusal: Hubby mistakenly submitted bank statement for 2 months instead of 6. Not that he didn't have it (He has worked at the same job for almost 10years), but as of now he can not say how he managed to make such a mistake.
I was so sure we would get it, because i did my home work well. Moving forward, we will try again. Immediately.
I wish everyone still waiting a happy ending.

OMG that is a very costly mistake, so sorry. Better to check and crosscheck the package like 10 times. We had a checklist for each section, after compiling, I checked and my wife checked then we both did final checks together before submission. At least now you know you will most likely get the visa once you put the required info together. All the best

Many thanks!

https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/app/international/payment/language/English

We paid to use this service only once, but communicated with them for at least 3 different reasons.

Their reply can be so frustrating... be warned!

My advice would be that you do not waste your time/money to contact UKBA, their responses are somewhat automated (even though you speak to an actual agent, the response is that your application is under consideration by an ECO) which is usually a meaningless update so it only serves to frustrate. If it is about the status of your application, your best bet is just to wait and be hopeful.

But if you have any other query, please go ahead.

Honestly we don’t know too. Still in shock too,I mean 5years2018-2023,that was what was written in the letter.

Ok, this is quite confusing but you received a vignette visa in your passport right? which is for the duration of a month?
The letter only states the spousal visa route you are on and that is usually a 5-year route (in some special cases the 10-year route).

Please this is day 32 (priority), and we are sooo nervous. Any words of comfort/advice?

You should get a ready for pickup notice tomorrow or say Monday, do not fret.

I received my visa today. God is wonderful. I have two questions.

1)Regarding TB certificate my wife has the original, is it ok to take a copy with me when traveling. Has anyone been asked to show their original certificate

2) which airline has people been using as the direct flight are expensive at the moment

1. No harm carrying copies of your documents but I wasn't asked about any docs at the Airport doesn't mean you won't be asked though.

2. For cheaper airfare, you might want to try Turkish airline or Air Maroc. Usually cheaper and with short timeline sometimes similar to Air France/KLM (not as short as virgin or BA)

UPDATE: so I got into England yesterday, no fuss at all at the immigration line. Just simply thump print and welcome.
But I had to be sure I used the right visa to get in because I still had my valid visit visa, so had to deliberately show my spouse visa to ensure they had the right recording...lol

oxygyne:
Hello everyone, time for me to say a big thank you to the Group for all the support with no recourse to public funds (lol). But sincerely you guys provide a great support system here and we (definitely I) do not take it for granted.

So the twist to my application is that:
- I have been in and out of England for a couple of years, on Tier 4 Visa and multiple visit visas
- But my wife and I got married in England while I was on my current multiple visit visa because we did not know it is not allowed.
- But when we gave notice at the registry, our details were sent to Home Office
- We got a letter from UKBA about an ongoing investigation into our proposed marriage
- Few months later, we got another letter saying we could go ahead with the marriage
- We got married in January 2018 in England.
- I was worried this might affect the visa application

But below is the Timeline for my Settlement (Husband) Visa Application:

Online Application Submitted: 22/02/2018 Priority
Biometric Taken: 26/02/2018
Doc Sent: 08/03/2018
Confirmation of delivery to Sheffield POBox through Royal Mail Special Delivery: 09/03/2018
Generic email from VISAINFO.SHEFO@fco.gov.uk: 17/03/2018
Called to check if supporting documents were received but not meaningful response: 13/04/2018
No email from UKBA at all
No Calls to sponsor or sponsor's employer (well not that we know of)
Passport collection email: 25/04/2018
Passport collected with visa: 26/04/2018 (30 working days from receipt of document in Sheffield excluding Easter Holiday)
Settlement (Husband) Visa Successful.

I have attached the checklist of all the documents we submitted and how we arranged it. Please note that this is a personal preference, this arrangment and documents is based on our situation.

Thank you all once again. Nerve racking process, however God will always show up mighty.

Good morning Pals.
I came to UK on 2yrs tier 4 visa 2014. I switched over to EU spouse family member year 2016 with UK residence issued March 2016. Just want to know if i can apply for UK Permanent Ressidence card by Jan 2019 because i will be 5yrs in UK by then though my UK residence permit is still valud till March 2021. My wife will be 5yrs in UK by October and think of applying both for the UK Permanent residence.
Thanks

Based on research thus far, I think you have to have spent 5 years on the Spouse Visa Line, the Tier 4 is a different visa line. So you will need to complete your 5 year route on the EU spouse visa.

please can I have the contact number
I'm in dilemma right now
I submitted my application at the UK office at VI on Tuesday and also did my biometrics, I applied for a tier2 dependent visa of which my husband is the sponsor, the kind of visa I applied for is usually called Tier2 PBS or categorized under work visa l, but when I got to the office, I was told all my original documents which I brought that were not in A4 paper size should be photocopied to that size e.g my marriage certificate and our wedding pictures, I later got an email from TLScontact asking me to create an account, which I did and when I logged in, I realized I was registered on their website for visitors visa less than 6 months and that wasn't what I applied for, and i dont want to get refused due to their mistake, please what can I do? I don't want to get refused, and would I still need to post the original documents to UKVI? Please I need your help before it's too late. Thank you

I might be wrong but I do think the TLScontact site is just for tracking of your application in Nigeria. I do not think any information about your visa type will affect your application. You filled out your application on UKBA portal and you picked the correct application type, yes?
Check you application form, if it has the correct information then I wont be borthered much about TLS site but I will let others respond as well.
