The 26th edition of the NIGERIAN CORNER at the Notting-Hill Carnival, London which was held yesterday will go down as one of the most memorable in recent times. Thousands of Nigerians trooped to the official Nigerian Corner on Adela St, London, W10 5BE to savour the very best of Nigerian entertainment, food, fashion and of course colour as the whole atmosphere was GREEN!! Top of the bill on stage was Sir Shina Peters who performed alongside Wande Coal, KAS, Shank, Remisnisce and a host of other acts.

The show was anchored by DJ Abass alongside Cool Fm’s Freeze, Wazobia Fm’s Yaw and Alariwo of Africa. The duo of Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo D1 Adeneye was also broadcasting live to Nigeria. The event was put together by The RMG Group in conjunction NAF, KP Express & DJAMEDIA. Pls find below photos from the show…

D’Banj + May7ven + Ada Snoop + Noni Zondi = AN ELECTRIFYING PERFORMANCE!

On Monday 27th of August 2012, the one and only Kokomaster, the self-proclaimed African Michael Jackson, D’Banj brought the roof at the HMV APOLLO in London down in the only way a bona-fide entertainer should. From the pictures which you would see below the D’BANJ LIVE AT HMV APOLLO couldn’t have been more electrifying. Afro artists that performed were mostly women(which is nice for a change) – and of course what else would be expected from the KOKOMASTER, the African Oliver Twist that has the right to ask for more anytime he wishes.

With May7ven’s TenTenlicious performance and Noni Zondi’s BOOTY showcasing and Ada Snoop’s enthralling performance, the night couldn’t have been any better. In the mix, was Ikechukwu aka KILLZ performing some of his recent songs and DJ Abrantee as the host of the event.

Aboki which means friend in Hausa and More were both written by Ice Prince, also known as Panshak Zamani and produced by the young talented producer Chopstix. Celebrating some of the most successful individuals hailing from the Northern part of Nigeria, Aboki is a song that is guaranteed to get you on your feet.

More on the other hand is a beautiful love song which highlights the situations faced in relationships. Speaking briefly on his new singles, Ice Prince said:

I do not have anything whatsoever against younger guys dating older women. For the people who do it, I believe they have reasons…. Reasons strong enough for them to do it!

I have seen situations where an older girl has dated a younger guy, I even have a friend who’s done this before but honestly, it is not my thing. I am a girl who is quite hard to control and I believe when I’m with a younger man, I might have problems being reasonable or maybe worse – respectful. So I do not encourage younger boys coming on to me. But then I guess I can’t stop this from happening.

Recently, my cousin had a baby and we all went for the naming ceremony. Because I am not the type that mixes freely, a lot of people who know me try to be careful not to make ridiculous introductions and I never even give room for it. In fact most times, I naturally frown...
