Oh I See. Thanks for the info.
In that case it is advisable to sort out bank account before going for the health card.

Am just trying to figure out the right/most advisable sequence for processing/getting the following:
1.) Mobile Phone
2.) SIN
3.) Bank account
4.) Health insurance (Ontario)
5.) Accomodation ( I will be staying with family for the first three weeks)

Please feel free to add anyone I'm missing.

Thanks.

You can sort out accommodation before health Insurance whichever rocks your boat but note that you dont have to hurry about the health insurance because even if you put in your application early you still have to wait for 90 days for it to come into effect

Bank statement can be used as well. The one the bank mails to your address not online one

If you're in Ontario then you get health cover after 90 days/3 months. You will need to bring these documents with you to any Service Ontario location:

1. A completed Registration for Ontario Health Insurance Coverage form which you will get at the office
2. Three separate, original (not photocopies or printouts of electronic documents) identification documents:
A. one that proves your Canadian citizenship or OHIP-eligible immigration status (e.g. Canadian birth certificate, Permanent Resident Card )
B. one that proves you live in Ontario (e.g. Ontario Driver’s Licence, income tax assessment)
C. one that supports your identity (e.g. credit card, passport from any country)

In bold font are the readily available materials to get you registered.

Thanks @ Salford 1 and Blackbuddy and all the seniors in the house for always being helpful . In addition to this i just did my Ontario health card and they accepted our lease agreement as proof of residence so the docs submitted/shown were passport, PR card and lease agreement

Hi my Seniors in the house. Thanks everyone for your good work. God bless our hustle. Please do we have any pharmacists in the house. I already landed in Canada, Brampton, Ontario to be precise. Any tips on obtaining licensing. Also some fellow colleagues here advised not to work yet but focus on prep for exams as it will not be easy combining with work and kids( i have 2- 5yrs and 22months). Whats your take on this. Pls help

Hi nairaland fam. Just wanted to share this info. On the issue of using our naija cards abroad, my hubby got a mail from standered chartered bank on a new cbn policy restricting the use of our cards in non EMV countries(something that has to do with the chip n pin mechanism of our cards) from October 25th cos of all d reports of fraud going on. So u can't use our naija cards except u inform the bank before travelling. So people hold your cash tight to avoid stories. Sorry for the long epistle

Hello beautiful people, I got into the US on Sunday via JFK with my 3year old. POE was hassle free. I was asked my purpose and I told them vacation and childbirth. He asked how much I had on me and I told him.It was below $10000 so I wasn't to declare. All he said was congratulations and make sure you pay your bills. Sent to agriculture but my bag wasn't checked and I was free to go. Glory to God. Now waiting for my 1st appointment. Thanks a lot for all the help and info
