my candid advise is that people should buy their vehicles in Nigeria, cash and carry. I ve bought a car in cotonou b4 it was brought to me with a part of the wind screen broken and it was not like that when i bought it. When i wanted to buy my second car i went to western avenue, Lagos, bought the car, registered it and drove it home. No sweat. The difference in price is not worth all the stress.

I bought my first car ( toyota corolla) from cotonou in 2003 and ve never had any serious issues wt d car though ve not used it for many months bt each time I start d engine d sound is always encouraging. am thinking of buying a bus now and also thinking of going to berger cause ve lost contact wt d person dat helped me wt the first car and skeptical abt approaching a stranger for d deal, but i know cotonou is cheaper.
i also agree wt d person dat said cars in beger might ve been used. I have friends dat sell cars in Lagos and they would be driving d car to church to d market, to visit in laws and will still sell it as tokunbo and i make jet of them dat its naija used they are selling.

People get skeptical about buying cars from cotonou cause of the risks involved. Some say the cars get to you in bad shape cause the people bringing them in don't pay duties and pass through the bush, and all sort of stories. How true is this? let those who have bought allay the fears of prospective buyers.
